1241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to hack a blockchain? on: July 21, 2023, 06:50:21 AM
t depends on the blockchain, and in our case it depends on how the cryptocurrency deals with the blockchain. Some cryptocurrencies are very centralized, but they deceive investors with the word blockchain, so they think that it is decentralized because of blockchain.

Here is an example, which is BSC, it contains 21 validators and they can stop the network, reverse transactions, freeze the coins inside the wallet or consider them invalid, here if these validators or Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) are hacked, literally the blockchain has been hacked. USDT is another example where the company can freeze and withdraw funds as it wants. Here, if the company is hacked, the blockchain will be managed as the hackers want. Bitcoin is the unique model of the blockchain that has decentralized properties that have been tested and succeeded so far.
1242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 21, 2023, 06:28:37 AM
Cyber security is a term that carries a lot of sub-sciences within it, and it is too big to be taught in the form of simple lectures for people who do not have a technical background, but what is better than that is simple advice that everyone can follow and easily avoid most attacks.

Tips could be:

  • Do not click or download an application that you do not know or trust in the developer.
  • Learn how to properly set up cold storage wallets.
  • Make a watchonly wallet on a clean device.
  • Check the sending address several times.
  • Avoid overinvesting in altcoins
  • Do not rely on security or anti-virus software. Assume that your device is not safe and take precautions based on this assumption.
  • Read and follow news and updates.

It is as simple as this.
1243  Economy / Economics / Re: AI, Robotics ETFs Are More Popular Than Crypto in 2023 - Bloomberg on: July 20, 2023, 11:09:44 AM
We must differentiate between the artificial intelligence market, which is represented by companies that give a final product, which is products of better quality than traditional methods and can have multiple uses, and between cryptocurrency AI tokens, these tokens are a pumpdumpcoin, which moves according to news, not good products. High-quality or professional Photoshop services. All the company needs is to create premium accounts, and you pay to get these services. There is no need for cryptocurrency here. Robotics is an expanding field, and artificial intelligence adds additional value to it. It is a model for companies that offer useful robots to the industry because it gives high efficiency and without a human or mechanical element, which reduces costs and thus a good opportunity for the rest of the industrial sectors. Again, these companies do not need to create tokens or blockchain because they sign annual contracts.

All end products of artificial intelligence companies do not need to create tokens, so buying these tokens is nothing more than a blind investment without thinking.
1244  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CZ Binance warns users about using Binance Exchange on: July 20, 2023, 10:52:42 AM
beware of platforms that offer High APYs
fast forward to today and the headlines are about Binance laying off 1000+ employees.
As much as this information seems wrong or misleading, as much as we cannot verify its authenticity from an independent third party, no one knows how many employees are working in the Binance Exchange to believe that more than 1000+ employees have been fired, and we can suddenly wake up to discover that Binance has turned into FTX Nothing but we know nothing about them except CZ.

However, the advice remains true, even if it was not said by CZ, any platform that grants high APYs is questionable, as they may rely on hot money to manage their profits and attract investors, which means you may suddenly lose all your deposits.
1245  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone is still using Paxful? on: July 20, 2023, 10:06:26 AM
What attracts people to peer-to-peer exchanges is the availability of reliable sellers at good prices. As soon as these two conditions are met, I will use that service. It is unlikely that Paxful will turn into scam, if there are trusted users and multiple possibilities to buy and sell bitcoin, why not, at least the Paxful is old and you can find ratings from several years ago, but the new platforms require users for years to build their trust profile, or you will depend on that You are trading outside the platform and therefore the risk is greater than the possibility of being scammed.

I'm glad they're back again, the more options we have to buy bitcoin is better, Binance dominate the crypto market and this absolute dominance is not a good thing.
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Stop Gambling Even If You're Doing Great If This Happens To You on: July 20, 2023, 09:56:21 AM
There is something bad about gambling, which is your addiction to risks and incentives for quick profit in a short time. This addiction makes traditional methods of collecting money such as a job seem impossible to you, why wait until the end of the month to get money when you can earn it within a day or two? Why establish a company from scratch and wait five years and you can achieve millions from gambling? why plant the land and wait for the crop and you can earn in less than 24 hours.

If the gambling mentality becomes dominant in your thinking, it is better to stop gambling, no matter how profitable it is, because it will destroy your life, no matter how much you achieve profits.
Destroying your life is not only by losing your money, but by losing your sense of the value of patience and waiting to get incentives, whether those incentives are salary, financial incentives, or even in your personal life such as wife and children, family, sports and others.
1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Analyzing XRP's Potential: Can It Reach $1? on: July 20, 2023, 09:41:44 AM
For XRP to reach 1$ is not a big task and it will reach within a few weeks or days. XRP is already trading over 0.8$.
Also, note that XRP all-time high was over 3.5$ and I will not be surprised if XRP breaks its all-time high in the next bull market.
It seems that you are very optimistic, but the truth may be completely different. The chances of XRP reaching $3.5 seem very unrealistic.
It is true that the sec case gave a moral boost to investors, as it generates more demand for the currency, given that some platforms will re-list it again, but its effect has ended, and therefore the next stage is to correct the price slightly.
1248  Economy / Reputation / Re: Are messages like this leading to scam? on: July 20, 2023, 08:57:49 AM
Most likely, a link will be sent to you, either a referral link or a phishing link, scam ICO/CEX, or you may be asked for a loan. It may not be scam, but it will definitely ask you for something and you may be able to do it.
If the account is old or has a record of posts, look at those posts, and then you may be able to help him, but if it is a new account, ignore the message and report to admin if it contains any suspicious link.
1249  Economy / Speculation / Re: $30000 is becoming the resistant price on: July 20, 2023, 08:31:12 AM
I see some saying that stability in the $30,000 range means that the price will not go down, but going down is Bitcoin's way to go up. We are testing the $32,000 level for several days, and when the price does not succeed in breaking that level, then the resistance level at $28,000 will be tested. Thus, we get stability at 30k when consolidation occurs and the price cannot go up or down.

Re-testing the $28,000 to $26,000 levels means that next time we will most likely break the $32,000 level, as it will not hold as it happened the last time.

And do not forget that it is summer and holidays, there is no significant change in the price.

1250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Indonesia National Exchange Open in the end of July 2023, Is bullish Start? on: July 19, 2023, 11:00:23 AM
It is an advanced step by the Indonesian government to protect the assets of traders instead of depositing in multinational platforms that impose the same level of AML, however, the risks are great for investors. What worries me most is the statement that all cryptocurrency transactions can only be conducted through an exchange, and this means that they will control the trading prices and fees. Purchase prices.

The news is good, but I do not expect to see a quick impact on the price of Bitcoin.
1251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is the ledger can be hackable ? on: July 19, 2023, 10:44:29 AM
1. Power Glitching
2. Side Channel Attack
To prevent from being hacked user have to create a strong password with upper case and lowercase characters and to add another layer protection have to add pin code. Also secret phrases should have a safest backup.

The attacks you mentioned require physical access to your hardware wallet, and some time based on the experience of the hackers, so whenever you lose access to your wallet, you must quickly transfer your money.

3. Software attack
4. Phishing Link attack
To avoid these attacks, all that is required of you is to be more careful, do not click randomly on links, and you must use an open source operating system.

Their reputation is bad because those data leaks and months ago they announced their Ledger Recovery Service which causes more fear about data leak on user wallet seed.
Data leakage is not related to the customer's money or the security of the wallet, it is to the customer's privacy, which is basically not the goal of these wallets.

@teoliya33  The Ledger problem is that you need to update the firmware, and the latest update contains the Ledger Recovery service that encrypts and accesses your private key, which may mean that third parties may be able to access your currencies and that they are not generated offline.
This may cause future problems but for now you can use Keystone 3, Coldcard or DIY HW.

1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SIGNS THAT A CRYPTO PROJECT IS A SCAM on: July 19, 2023, 09:38:14 AM
These SIGNS measure for you most cases of traditional fraudulent projects, but sometimes scam is smart to the extent that you do not know that the project is scamming until after you lose your money, and here it makes you be more cautious and less willing to invest long-term in altcoins.
Make your investment in these projects an opportunity to achieve greater liquidity in the short term and thus buy more bitcoins or at least be able to withdraw your capital and keep the profits in the form of that currency and therefore even if its value becomes zero, you have withdrawn your capital early.Greed, the belief that the future holds quick profit and long-term investment is what makes you more vulnerable to scam cryptocurrencies.

1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 19, 2023, 09:28:02 AM
You probably know that almost all new meme projects are coming out now. Do you think it is really risky? what effect do you think this could have for the bull market!
What is the basis on which these currencies are based to achieve success, which will be reflected in an increase in the price? They all depend on that they will be an alternative to DOGECOIN. However, all that is presented is a currency that has the name MEMECOIN, but its design is not much different from any other digital currency, and therefore these currencies Closer to pumping/dumping projects, where it depends on a distinguished name, a distinguished event, a large liquidity is pumped to increase the price, and suddenly everything disappears.

Trying to invest here is closer to those who try to buy a special number card, thinking that it will make them win the lottery.
1254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did we do at the beginning to have bitcoins? (2010-2011 ...) on: July 19, 2023, 08:33:18 AM
What is difficult about downloading a wallet from the store or from an official site (signature verification is an additional step) and then saving your wallet seeds in paper (a metal plate is an additional option) and not sharing them with anyone, not randomly clicking on links or downloading unknown programs (using an open system is extra step source)

For buying bitcoin, it differs according to your country and according to the data that you can provide, but it is simply the same as online shopping, you search for the best option according to your country, buy bitcoin, withdraw those coins to your wallet, and we are done.

Your use of additional steps enhances your security.
1255  Economy / Economics / Re: Pool strategy of investment for wealth multiplication. on: July 19, 2023, 08:00:15 AM
I do not advise a group of relatives and friends to get together and buy high-risk assets, including Bitcoin. You start investing from a low-risk asset, medium to high, and not the other way around. The reason for this is that all types of investment entail risks that may not be borne by everyone, and thus cause social problems among the family. It is better to divide the investment so that it is in different sectors and in varying proportions so that high-risk investments do not exceed 30% to 50% in the worst case, with a good diversification of investments and asking specialized people to reduce risks and maximize profits. Such partnerships are always the problem in the mechanism of providing liquidity when someone needs it in making decisions.
1256  Economy / Speculation / Re: $31450 proves too strong for Buyers, but Sellers may only dominate below $29400 on: July 19, 2023, 07:53:03 AM
We can consider it a strong last resistance level near $40,000, as after reaching $32,000, it is unlikely that the resistance at $34,000 will be as strong, meaning that breaking $31,450 is the key that will take the price to levels close to $40,000.

The more you touch a support or resistance level, the weaker you make that level. even if the price did not succeed at the present time, the $31,450 level is much weaker than before, and any strong upward trend again will certainly break that barrier, provided that the price remains in the range of 28K to 32K.

1257  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cryptocurrencies and AI on the Big Screen on: July 15, 2023, 11:06:28 AM
but what I do know and I am sure is that without a doubt The entertainment industry and the film industry are extremely influential and have a wide audience. and whatever the context, the film could arouse the interest and curiosity of viewers in these technologies (cryptocurrency and AI) in a fun and accessible context.
I no longer care about this effect, we have a good database on social media, and you can notice that the word bitcoin turns into a trend every few months, so the film industry resorts to using bitcoin as a new technology and something mysterious that can be used more than what was in the past, as the majority believed Bitcoin is the currency of the dark web and drugs.

What I fear most is the rush of people to buy bitcoin, which makes them an easy opportunity for scammers. Scammers are spread on the Internet and are waiting for beginners, so perhaps if these films carry out awareness campaigns, they will have a greater impact.

If this film mentioned Bitcoin then we could add them here: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear.
It's been several months since the last movie I watched, I'm going to choose one of them on the weekend.
1258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could XRP win in SEC case be a start for next bull run? on: July 15, 2023, 10:41:50 AM

Well, but it has happened, effect is on whole market. I mean just look at the change in last 24 hrs, btc ain't exception either. Why would you disown the live data?

Why did you assume that because of XRP win in SEC, Bitcoin moves by 3% to 7%, and perhaps even 10% due to the movement of supply and demand, and therefore the movement within this range is considered normal and does not need an external influence to say that it is the reason for changing the price of Bitcoin.

when we compare price changing:

Bitcoin price change rate within a week: 0.23%
ETH price change rate within a week: 3.92%
XRP price change rate within a week: 53.67%

Also, the rates of change during narrower ranges, such as less than a week, are not affected, as happened with the price of XRP.

The opposite would be completely different if Bitcoin rose by 53.67%, you will find all cryptocurrencies rising by a percentage close to that.
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still trust wBTC? Wrapped Bitcoin on: July 15, 2023, 10:02:26 AM
Back to the question, why do they buy such wrapped tokens?

And why do they buy stable coins but not store their capital in US. dollar?

Even if they bought real dollars or even more liquid assets such as US Treasury bonds, this does not mean that the currency is wrapped.

There is a big difference between stableCoins and wrapped tokens. Stablecoin try to maintain the stability of $1 or any stable pair, while wrapped tokens are locking mechanisms, as for every 1 For wBTC to be printed, there must be 1 BTC in locked smart contract, such as the lightning network and the side networks, if that happens and that there is 1 BTC != 1 wBTC, then it is not wrapped token but stablecoin.

Luna was stablecoin based on Bitcoin and prices massively drop after de-pegged.

Crypto markets are volatile, thus these fluctuations are expected. Im not blindly justifying the situation, but we must comprehend wBTC's mechanism and market forces. wBTC, traders, liquidity providers, and market conditions can restore parity.

My problem is not in restoring the value, but rather that these bitcoins are used by the smart contract without the permission of who locked it, and yet the individual does not get profits from their locking. It's more like a loan with fluctuations collateral.
1260  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Liquidity and Fees When Trading on: July 15, 2023, 09:27:56 AM
Unless the platform you want to trade on is reliable and highly liquid, it is best to avoid trading on it.

One of the sites that you can check is trustpilot and there are only 42 reviews, assuming that only half of them are real, there are 21 review, when you compare this number with Binance, it has about 4k, so a good platform is supposed to contain 500 reviews as a minimum

www.trustpilot.com/review/stormgain.com

The most honest reviews are negative and unfortunately some of them talk about scams like

Quote
I had deposited $500 and today am…

I had deposited $500 and today am sitting with a meager $36 because of the losses I made following the stupid signals from the website. I realized that the signals were behind the live market trend and hence lagged the trends 6 hours when the market changed.

Quote
They do noThey do not allow you to withdraw money with a Google security code or send a password to Gmail,t allow you to withdraw money…

They do not allow you to withdraw money with a Google security code or send a password to Gmail, and unlike all exchanges in the world, they do not give you the right to choose the type of withdrawal, neither does it have a Google code for withdrawal, nor does it send a password to Gmail.
It is also not possible to edit account details and their support will only block you

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/stormgain.com?stars=1

Searching in Google does not give any additional information, and therefore we cannot believe the amounts of liquidity received.
Nothing about this platform looks good.

Another option is https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges - It will show you Volume of the exchanges in the past 24 hours, non biased.
The problem is that it is difficult to verify these things. Services like Coingecko try to verify the data, but the number of users, complaints and positive ratings is a reflection of liquidity and trading volumes.
