Manchester City are determined to keep their distance from Arsenal who have led the standings so far for so long. Arsenal has 1 other match that has not been played so the points will probably be 8 points different from Manchester City. So winning is mandatory for Pep Guardiola and his team, there are no excuses.
There is absolutely no excuses for Pep and City, i think if they lose any game in the EPL right now, it would give Arsenal an unassailable lead at the summit of the EPL table. The good thing about Arsenal's lead at the summit is that they can afford to lose one or two games and still remain where they are, but every game for City from now going forward is a must win.

Having said that, Pep's boys already beat Spurs 4-2 about a week or so ago, they had to wrestle back to get all three points after trailing by 2 goals to nil; i am pretty sure Pep wouldn't want his team to concede cheap goals like they did in the first leg, thus i think City might win this game pretty easily, in the same weekend Arsenal play a relegation threatened Everton, definitely City know they have to win because Arsenal will most likely win.
1662  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 25, 2023, 10:01:38 PM
Renting is a waste of money. I pay rent annually I know this for a fact. Your rent can never decrease rather the landlord will always inform you of an upward review of the rent.
And if you cannot pay of have a problem with it you are served with a quit notice. Every year you pay higher for rent.
If you have you own house, it will cost a lot of money to build or buy one, but once you do, you have peace of mind for the rest of your life.
I have concluded and agreed with the OP that renting is an inevitable waste of money.
Well, the thing is that everyone would wish to outrightly have their own house, or maybe even houses and still be able to comfortably cover every other expense they have, but i'm afraid only the rich can actually afford that luxury. I feel between rent and purchase depends on the individual, their income and their area of residence, if you have a steady/stable source of income, then you could buy a house through paying the mortgage on it in installments, it is going to take quite a long time to pay up, but you eventually will if you manage to keep that steady source of income coming.

Having said that, i don't think there is anything wrong in renting a house, if you get a suitable location whilst considering proximity to your workplace, then you can go on and continue paying rent. I basically believe that before one should consider taking a loan to buy a house, or paying a mortgage on a house, they must have drawn out a long term plan as well as analysed their long term income and mobility, but rent on the other hand somewhat affords flexibility and ease of relocation.

Tottenham have signed Danjuma on loan by the way and I think this is a good move to increase the number of alternative players in the team. Danjuma is a versatile player as he can play as left winger and centre-forward both. He played as a striker mostly at Villarreal and he scored 4 goals in 9 matches. He might be useful in the absence of Kane at the centre because of that. He can be a good alternative for Son as well in case Son isn't able to play or he is in a bad form.
Whilst it is quite a good signing for Spurs and i expect Danjuma to bolster Spurs' attack, i don't expect to see too many changes for good at the club, they are definitely certain of winning nothing, and their target right now would basically be to secure a top four spot, and there is quite a lot of competition for top four this season, i think they prolly signed Danjuma to provide more attacking options for them so they wouldn't miss out on CL football.

Having said that, i think their problem stems from the manager, Conte; i don't think the club should renew his contract once it expires, his tactics and philosophies seems to limit Spurs' attacking players, and more often than not they have more business with defense than attack, Spurs need a new manager, an attacking minded one that can make good use of the quality players at their disposal.

tottenham hotspurs has signed striker Arnaut Danjuma from spanish club fc villarreal on loan for the rest of the season
Well, talk about a hijack, Everton already had an agreement with Arnaut Danjuma, IIRC the player had already undergone his medicals with the Merseyside club and the contract was almost signed; but in a surprising turn of events Spurs have come out from nowhere and completely snatched the player out of Everton's grasp. I don't blame Danjuma anyway, Everton look like a confused club right now, one that's unstable and would prolly be relegated, Lampard has been sacked but that is not the solution to their problems, the fans want the owners to sell the club, which they have refused; all of these issues might prove to be a bad enviroment for Danjuma's progress, thus Spurs might be a better option for the player.
1665  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Duplicates topics; How do we stop it? on: January 25, 2023, 12:25:10 PM
I think the main thing wey they cause duplicate topics na im be say most of these users wey they create duplicate topics no too they active for the Nigerian local board, wetin i mean be say them no they too read and comment in other posts created by other Nigerian users, if them they do like that them go notice say person don create the post wey they wan make, but when a user go just enter the board without reading anything wey others don post in the last weeks/days/months, come they make their own new post, chances they high say them go create duplicate post.

Having said that, no specific way we fit take stop am, but this your thread go help sha to draw awareness say duplicate post no they allowed here, reporting duplicate posts is another way to go about it. People here should also try to they read and engage in the posts wey other users don start, no be must say you must create your new post. If you see new post wey person create, and na duplicate post, abeg drop the link to the original post, and ask them to lock their duplicate post to avoid spam. This is all we fit do to help the matter at this time.
1666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 25, 2023, 08:36:03 AM
This next game against Everton should be an easy one for Arsenal judging by their level this season, Arsenal have been unbeaten in the past 11 games while Everton is struggling in the relegation zone plus they just sacked Lampard. I doubt they will be in good shape mentally to face a very dominant Arsenal side. The gunners will be extending their lead to a 8 point gap.
Well if we are to look at it based on currenct form then Arsenal are definitely going to blow Everton away, but if i've learnt anything from watching the EPL for many years now, it is that it is always difficult to play a team fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table, especially when they have just sacked their manager. I'm not saying that Everton are going to win this game, but we shouldn't all be surprised if we witness something quite different from what we all are expecting.

Having said that, Everton are in a pretty bad shape to say the least, if they want to survive relegation this season, then they have to start winning games, and it has to start from their next game which happens to be an uphill task.
1667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 24, 2023, 01:33:44 AM
Now I will not doubt Arsenal this season.
Lol, were you still doubting them, i know there were quite a lot of doubters grumbling when Arsenal started this brilliant run that has seen them stay at the summit of the EPL table for quite a long while now, most people said we should only give them some time and they wouldn't even be in the title race, but after 19 games Arteta and his boys are still sitting pretty at the summit of the EPL table.

Having said that, i for one never doubted them this season after they got into gear, or even if i did it was only for a short time, and that goes for many people like yourself, they too have stopped doubting Arsenal's title credentials; but one thing i'd never rule out is the ability of Manchester City to fight back and close up the gap, but for that to happen Arsenal have to be somewhat complacent, whilst City gets into gear, it is difficult, but it remains a possibility.
1668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The best wallet to use as beginner on: January 23, 2023, 11:53:02 PM
When i make research i concentrate on the hardware wallet that can be use for a new person so that my coin will not be stolen neither hack in my wallet. But i find it very hard to know. Because i saw someone complained that the wallet was hacked and the funds got missing.
Mind you that quite rightly some wallets are safer and better than others, but every wallet can be hacked, it all depends on how the user uses it, if one is quite knowledgeable with the right wallet, then their funds are safe, but the thing is that every crypto user has a responsibilty to protect their funds, notwithstanding the wallet they use. Thus because you saw someone who lost their funds through their hardware wallet being hacked doesn't mean hardware wallets aren't safe.
I want to know if every wallet have same security.
No
and i want to know the different between custodial wallet and none custodial wallet.
A custodial wallet is one that the user doesn't have the keys/seed phrase to, an exchange wallet is an example of a custodial wallet, whilst a non custodial wallet is one that the user is in control of, and has the keys/seed phrase to, electrum is an example of non custodial wallet. Remember the important axiom of: not your keys, not your coins.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 23, 2023, 11:13:48 PM
Declan Rice is still monitored by a few big Premier League teams these days. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have him on their radars.
Well, it is somewhat certain that Declan Rice is going to leave West Ham next summer, but i don't think Chelsea are going to sign him, even if they want to/should (because Kante is prolly leaving), i think Chelsea aren't going to sign him because of the amount of money they have spent on players in this January winter transfer window, they surely can't go on another spending spree in the summer, that would definitely get them into FFP trouble, and as we know it Declan Rise could cost nearly 100 million pounds, so that is quite a lot of money.

Having said that, between Arsenal and Manchester United, i think the Englishman might favor Arsenal, they are more of a stable club than Manchester United right now, and if Arsenal go on and win the EPL it becomes a whole lot easier for them to allure Rise and players of similar and better quality.
1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 23, 2023, 10:10:48 PM
I also think they deserve that champion title this season, from their performance so far, I am very much convinced they really prepaid got the game, lets hope they keep the winnings coming.
Arsenal are halfway there, it is not possible to be EPL champion in January, meaning there are still loads of games left to play, but whilst talking about the just concluded first half of the season, Arsenal have undoubtedly been the best side, the most consistent and less likely to drop points; atm they already look like champions.

Having said that, we know City won't give up the chase, but Pep's side have to improve immensely, or else Arsenal are going to run away with the title, i'm pretty sure quite a lot of people would have thought that with Liverpool struggling so bad, City were going to win the title unchallenged, but Arteta had other ideas, and he has now built a team that can go toe to toe with City, which is absolutely great for the league.
1671  Economy / Economics / Re: The world continues dumping US dollar (Gold, New World Order, World War III) on: January 23, 2023, 08:44:46 PM
why do we always have to mention world war lll at the end of every topic title, isn't that horrible to imagine.
Lol, World War lll OP mentioned at the end of this topic wasn't at least a physical one, it is more of an economical battle were one country tries to weaken the other and establish their economy as the world's most dominant one. But even a physical world war in the future isn't something we can completely rule out, but it is the last thing i will wish for.
but I hope that one day some developed countries can make changes in their reserve assets such as doing in the form of BTC.
These countries are buying gold because they are looking for what is a stable asset/currency, Bitcoin is very volatile and risky, as long as it is this volatile i don't think any country is going to ever make it their reserve asset/currency.
1672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 23, 2023, 08:31:51 PM
Right now Everton is in the relegation zone. And I do not think that they will find it easy at all to get out of this position. They are currently in the 15th position. And to get out of the relegation zone they will at least need to have 17 points.
Everton aren't in 15th position, they are in 19 position (with 15 points). Everton as a football club has a real problem on their hands, one that transcends beyond what we see on the football field, but right into the hierarchy at the club, and if this problem isn't addressed from where it stems from, a change of manager would have little or no impact.

Having said that, they have changed quite a lot of managers in recent years, yet they were almost relegated last season, but somehow managed to stay in the EPL through winning a couple of their final games, i didn't expect them to go through that patch again this season, and who's to say they are going to be lucky this season. The club have fired Lampard, but i don't think it's going to result in an immediate change in their fortunes, it looks like Everton might actually be relegated come the end of this season.

Sometimes I noticed that we Nigerian always brings bad records to our selves, why because I believe that if it was a foreigner who owns this project I don't he would have any interior motive to scam or run away with people's funds.
There have been lots of projects owned by Nigeria which I know I can't invest because if I do that I can't boast of seeing my money or ROI at last.
Ah! Na non-Naija people they create scam crypto coins/project pass, this kind scam no they peculiar at all to Naija people, make we no go they accuse ourselves for wetin we no do.
1674  Economy / Economics / Re: The world continues dumping US dollar (Gold, New World Order, World War III) on: January 23, 2023, 05:31:30 PM
Actually gold investment is more profitable and valuable than dollar, because the dollar can face economy crisis and will depreciate since it is under the influence of human activities.
The countries in question were never using the U.S dollar as an investment asset, it is mainly used around the world as a reserve asset/currency because it is a very strong and stable currency, but immediately the covid-19 pandemic shed its milk teeth and with the subsequent printing of more money out of thin air, the U.S dollar is now facing somewhat of an inflation crisis.

Having said that, if countries are slowly switching to gold from the U.S dollar, it is because gold is a safe haven asset/store of value that isn't affected by inflation, thus they would want to diversify and make gold a part of their reserve asset as the dollar continues to suffer. It is not about profitability, gold is a stable asset, but ROI on gold isn't all that large.
1675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have to hold on tight on: January 23, 2023, 05:01:31 PM
I ask for tips from you, how can I be strong enough to resist, and not be tempted by prices that have already increased?
The thing is, for you not to be tempted to sell when there is a short term appreciation in Bitcoin's price after investing, you'd have to personally decide what type of investor you are, if you are a long term investor or a short term one, if you are a long term investor you should also set a target of how many years you would want to hodl for, but prolly not less than 3-4 years, but do not buy in one lump sum, but accumulate through DCA.

Having said that, if you are a short term investor, you'd have to buy and then watch the price for an appreciation so you can sell, but if you go through that process, remember that you'd prolly not always buy back at a lower price, you'd buy back at any price Bitcoin is and hope for an appreciation again, the process isn't so easy because you can't game the market, thus more often than not you might be stuck with a fallen price and you'd have to wait for a long time before selling, or sell at a loss.
1676  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where did it all go wrong on: January 22, 2023, 08:00:54 PM
The story is somewhat vague, so we cannot really guess as to how the scammer was privy to such information; well we do not know how your friend lost his funds initially (in 2021), yes, you said he was scammed, but there are various ways one can be scammed, maybe the initial scam involved your friend revealing his private data, of which the scammers still have a list of some of their victims and their personal data.

Having said that, we also don't know how the discussion between this scammer and your friend went, the scammer might be very smart and indirectly get those info from your friend without it seeming like they asked. Well all of that isn't really important, do well to educate your friend that any funds lost in crypto, is lost for good; and if they want to continue in the crypto network, they should garner knowledge on how to secure their funds.
1677  Other / Meta / Re: Why Does A Post Or Thread Get Locked? on: January 22, 2023, 07:36:00 PM
There is no forum rule as to when/why a thread should be locked, sometimes it can be a subjective decision by the user who created the thread, so the thing is: a user can lock their thread for a plethora of individual reasons, it is their discretion as the person who started the thread, the normal thing to do is to lock a thread when the discussion is basically over, but it is as subjective as a thread starter locking their thread when the discussion just began, you could prolly PM them to reopen it, but it is still up to them to accept or reject the request.

Having said that, when moderators lock threads, we know it is because the thread is now redundant and being used to spam posts, but when a user locks a thread, it might be for a reason we wouldn't be able to decipher.
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 19, 2023, 04:58:34 PM
Finally, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Brighton to sign Leandro Trossard. The Fee understood to be £27m. I’m really excited about this deal. Great player. Considering the position they’re in, Arsenal needed someone really technical and confident in front of goal. Trossard has proven his quality in the final 3rd against all the big teams, scored excellent goals in tight spaces, he brings lots of experience to the team.
Well, i was actually surprised that Brighton didn't try to settle the altercation Leandro had with the manager, they are prolly backing the manager, and i'm pretty certain the message from Roberto De Zerbi was that he didn't want to work with Leandro anymore. After the statement by Leandro's agent about the altercation, it was certain the relationship was strained, but because of how good a player the Belgian is, i thought the club would/could iron things out, but i guess it wasn't to be.

Having said that, it is a great deal for the three parties, the player and the both clubs, Brighton get a fair amount for the 28 year old, Arsenal get a new attacker after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk, and Leandro moves to a side that currently leads the League, and has a huge chance of winning it, which would make the Belgian an EPL champion.
1679  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Genesis Trading in trouble?? on: January 19, 2023, 04:48:58 PM
Quite a lot of exchanges or crypto lending services usually collapse without giving any sign for an extended period of time, Genesis on the other hand had the signs of collapse written all over it for a couple of months now, thus i thought people would have already been prepared/preparing for it, but that doesn't seem to be the case as i have seen many signs of FUD about Genesis going insolvent today.

Having said that, the thing is that more often than not FUD causes a depreciation in the price of Bitcoin, and if people continue to spread FUD about this issue, it is basically going to spread panic amongst people who don't actually know what is happening/what is going to happen, thus if they sell their Bitcoins in their numbers we might quite rightly witness a slight decline/depreciation in the price of Bitcoin.
