https://sportsbet.io/sports/4-3-free has a new selection active for that Game 3 you're all talking about so don't forget to spend a few seconds for an extra freebet chance Wink Actually am already feeling quite lost knowing that this is the final week of club football for a while, so will be looking forward to some kind of promo or event for the upcoming internationals.

There are already some ongoing but they're mainly casino wagering, and with the time I (don't) have these days...
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Also Girls Should Be learned About Bitcoin on: June 05, 2023, 02:35:29 PM
In the studies I've seen, fewer women are in Bitcoin when compared to male peers in the same demographics, but women do much better when investing, and are more interested in utility (as opposed to speculation). Seems to be a case of "Boys Should Also Be Learned About Money".

How nice of you, after 3 years on this forum you finally shared your knowledge with your sister.
And obviously, it's far better since this ain't one of those fantasy merit fishing stories!

At least I know I'm not the only one being intolerant of these fantasy story made-up nonsense posts. I say intolerant because apparently, not everyone believes these stories aren't... stories Wink

I still can't wait for a topic of somebody telling their relatives about Bitcoin on how this is censorship-resistant, how it works 24/7, how nobody can ban you from using it, how it allows you to pay somebody a continent apart, how you can store it safely without anyone ever knowing and not once mentioning the price or making rain money with one quarter. But I guess that would be a surprise even for users here!

If I had the energy I'd dig up some old threads I've seen about other real-life stories of people claiming exactly that. Like me, I'm sure your heart would have warmed up to them.

OP has "knowledge is power" as his tagline... I wonder if miseducation and misinformation are more powerful weapons these days.
1663  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: June 05, 2023, 01:18:25 PM
But why the hell did you add those two low odds tennis matches? You already have very good odds and then you pair them with two very low odds in a sport where anything can happen.

Call it freebet insanity. I'd already used up my price boost for the day, and instead of waiting 24 hours for it to replenish, I thought, yeah let's see what's on live? Tennis. It's funny what you do with bets you win. For me, anyway Wink

I dont understand many of the bets he is posting in public but he probably wanted to increase total odds with few extra live matches.
Speaking from experience I don't like betting on such low odds, there was a time when I lost very big amount of money betting on 1.10 and 1.15 odds while trying to recover from previous loses.
But I guess betting with free bets is easier for this kind of betting adventures Wink

I'm hurt that you don't understand my bets, jk, even I have to argue with myself on my logic at times, but you know, I do much, much better when just using odds comparison to actual result. Sofascore has a nice section that publishes performance vs expectations. I quote a random match from them:

Quote
When the odds are 4.75 the expected chance of winning is 21%, but this team actually wins 1% matches with these odds.

So my simple brain goes for stats where teams win higher percentage of matches than expected on long odds. It's always skewed for teams meeting champions, I find.

Personally, I don't look at anything below 15/10, except if it's a pad for an acca, and even then maybe I go 13/10 lowest on a team I'm really confident in. Like you said, freebets are a licence for adventure Wink

But I have never used it because parlay is not an easy choice in my opinion even when betting on the French Open in the early rounds where you are very sure the seeds will win there will still be surprises that can spoil the results of other bets, so I prefer singles because I am not too dare to take risks unless it's a freebet.

Yeah, in short: 1.5 min odds, min 5 legs.

I take this every day when I can. It's not easy to hit parlays, sure, but if you factor in the bonus boost to winnings and the insurance, you actually get a lot of value. I don't do very well on accas, but this was my most recent one, and that all started with a live tennis bet on the favourite after going down a set (it's one of my fav live bet picks).

Without the price boost, it's barely 30/1, so a full 10% extra on top is nice, the insurance itself is something special.
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quick Bitcoin questions on: June 04, 2023, 07:56:53 PM
Is payment the substantial use case of crypto? If yes then where do you think Bitcoin stands? It cost me 0.20$ to make transactions on other payment solution that's not Bitcoin and it costs me over 1$ to make transaction with Bitcoin, isn't the cheaper always the better choice?

You've to understand there are comparisons to be made across different use cases. My personal story with Bitcoin was in comparison to PayPal as a cross-border (international) payment method, a problem you might not experience if you don't live and work in the global South, while wanting to interact with the Northern hemisphere and Europe.

Cost and speed are only one issue -- it costs a lot just to receive payments in a different currency (never mind converting it back), and at the poor rates these services like PayPal use.

But guarantee of access is the bigger issue.

Just this week, I had a payment declined from a Balkan country, after a week (still one of my few clients not yet convinced to use crypto). It will be refunded... within 10 business days, but I already lost fees and time. I actually ditched PayPal because I could get payments revoked MONTHS down the line, and even frozen for months, with repeated KYC on me triggered each time I relocated.

Since some crypto coins have cheaper transaction fee doesn't this make such coins a better fit for payment solution than Bitcoin?.and Bitcoin a better fit for store of value

Again another issue: acceptance. Bitcoin's the only crypto I can comfortably and easily exchange in any country I've relocated to. Southeast Asia, Africa, South Asia, Europe, you name a country, I guarantee there's a P2P network there.

Same if I want to buy something with Bitcoin, any merchant accepting crypto accepts Bitcoin first.

Ether, not so much, USDT, yeah, it's growing, but Bitcoin is king.

Nice calls, CLS63 and damn you Slissy ha!

Still, I managed to keep my spot in 8th, so I'm not too upset. These 5 points from the summit feels so big, when you think about how tight these races are. Glad I kept faith in Verstappen. For once Tsunoda got in above 10 and I didn't put him in...

Damn, forgot to submit my picks again. I'm horrible at these things - too many pools I'm currently participating in.
No surprise I'm in last place, for Monaco I submitted 5 min before the race when I saw the DM from 1miau.

Well, free money for the winners I guess Grin

Thank you for your kindness ha!

It's happened at least once for me in every pool, every season. I actually lost prize spots in UCL because I forgot an entire round during round 16 (that was different though, I honestly thought I put in picks and then happily went to look for results and saw the bad news haha).

Strange thing the mind does to you when you think you're on autopilot and then rely on that without actual reminders, huh.
1666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +89485 units on: June 04, 2023, 12:43:02 PM
Worst game ever, United, but who am I to talk, when they were in the final eh?

A bit of a pity I didn't post the other bet I had that did hit (PSG losing) yesterday but let's go for another champion going down, this time in Italy, in another game that doesn't matter.

Bottom team meets top.

100 units at Sportsbet on Sampdoria to WIN vs Napoli @29.60. Other odds: 25.00
Units advantage: 460

Running advantage after 68 bets: +6913 (+460)
All-time cumulative: +89,991
Running units after 67 bets (8W|59L): +328 (-100)

Finally I won a Free Bet after a while but thank you so much Sportsbet for giving me one and I took the time to think about who to pick and I went with Carlos Sainz TOP 3 in F1 Qualifiers from Barcelona @4.40 odds<3.

Guess you just booked a nice little sum to play with today on the real race Wink

Man just put money on it. I have some freebets won, so one deserves to go on this simple ML:
That was overly optimistic bet buddy  Grin
I placed a bet on Manchester City winning first half but United managed to score a goal from penalty.
My opinion is that Man City didn't want to push very hard for this match, maybe they are saving strength for UCL final, but it was enough to win today and It was Gundogans day.
Do you have any betting suggestions for tomorrow?

Heh, yeah, but I think it pays to be even more overly optimistic that that, really, as I put one freebet (From this Lopez v Conlan boxing prediction) on PSG to lose last night. Clermont Foot's not the most glamourous team in Ligue 1, but they actually had a goal chalked off, a penalty miss, and a late goal also disallowed... and still managed to beat Messi and co.

Might not win these picks often but they're worth a lot when they do hit Wink

Ajaccio were the other upset last night, but that's what you get when teams are playing their final game and have no pressure to win.

Today, I like similar matchups (teams with nothing to play for) in Serie A and La Liga. For example, Napoli's hosting bottom-team Sampdoria so for me, one's already a champion, and one's already relegated. Playing for pride appears to be the best value bet so that is the obvious one to take at 29/1 but I think a slight Asian Handicap is also pretty damn good odds.

Looking really good guys, and I have to say, 52 people in the second season is massive -- I can easily see this turn into a 100-team league association by season 4 if we keep getting in ClubTalk members.

Re combat sports -- I think it's high time we had it in BSFL and it would seem to be we have quite knowledgeable players in our midst. jeremypwr also comes to mind, after all, he hosts all the boxing and MMA prediction threads (also Sportsbet sponsored). Could be a resource. Personally, I think boxing is "bigger" than MMA, at least in terms of reputation, but I know there are lots of MMA fans who would like to prove me wrong Wink
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2022/2023 on: June 03, 2023, 03:07:51 PM
As a neutral I wanted this game to be high-scoring, and reach PKs, with United taking it. Can't believe am hoping they win (I support Liverpool) but the tables have turned so badly that I see City as the one whose dominance must be challenged.

Pretty dull affair, but can't complain about a draw, 2 goals, from 3 shots on target, I suppose. Both need to take more risks next half.

Not sure which casino you use, but the odds is really bad, in sportsbet.io the odds for Manchester City to win is @1.61, this would make huge bettors earn more profit by placing their bet in sportsbet.io.

Not only that, use the price boost and you can get over 18/10. Go the other way and it's almost 6/1. I always wonder why people leave money on the table at such significant margins (he might have caught bad timing but it's been stable, and even going down actually since the market first emerged).
1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: June 03, 2023, 01:54:38 PM
Guess today's all about FA Cup for me heh. I took 2 of those specials (but the last couple of specials are for the UCL final, I don't think it's worth taking but hey), the Rashford Haaland shots on target apiece look interesting, then I also went for PKs... unlikely but you never know what a derby can throw up.

By the way, anyone fancy Barca losing the other big final today?

And of course, day-old accounts know Steve's name like it's the most natural thing. Best to help report posts like that to clean up the clutter. I think so anyway.

Wrexham's B team (which just got promoted to league football) just beat US women's 12-0. Wonder who else besides Hollywood's sponsoring them eh? Anyone follow lower league (English) football here?

@crampoll545 As posted above, wait for the weekend, you'll get an answer.

@LFC_Bitcoin what do you think of the upcoming match between the Manchester club’s, it’s about to start in a bit but yet time to throw in your predictions and discuss what really matters in this ANN. Lastly as you’ll already know that I’m hoping for Manchester United to win but I’m yet not feeling confident enough to wager on them Grin so what about your or other’s anyone wagering on Manchester United to win?

Man just put money on it. I have some freebets won, so one deserves to go on this simple ML:

1672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +89485 units on: June 03, 2023, 10:32:55 AM
What? Season is almost ending (typically I end with Champions League final) and we still have over 400 units to burn, so why not let's try spread it out a bit over the next 3 big finals coming up, right? That starts today with the FA Cup final.

A simple ML on United to come out on top against City (who plays their second choice keeper).

100 units at Fairlay on Man Utd to WIN vs Man City @5.89. Other odds: 5.45
Units advantage: 44

Running advantage after 67 bets: +6453 (+44)
All-time cumulative: +89,531
Running units after 66 bets (8W|58L): +428 (-100)
1673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Wrong with Roger Ver? ::) on: June 02, 2023, 02:18:13 PM
Shame he left the forum, would have liked that extra plurality (where's the sarcasm emoji?).

Still not sure what Ver refers to when he says Bitcoin these days, because according to him, he's following the "real Bitcoin" (BCH), which keeps losing market share. He always thought this was an important indicator, and why Bitcoin was ded... he proved to be prophetic though, as his version of Bitcoin actually is (dead).
1674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 02, 2023, 01:17:24 PM
@famososMuertos @mv1986 I agree Div2 is pretty damned impressive for getting the most points, but on the other hand, it suggests poorer opponents. One might argue that the division with the most points dropped is actually the toughest (most competitive), since matches are always so tight -- in which case Div3 is actually the most competitive league in the maiden season Wink

On competency (how good players are) Average Goals Scored would be the better indicator, since you need to get a question right, or answer more accurately than the opponent, to score a point. You'll see that Div1 (40.08) and Div2 (40.67) are much closer in that aspect (though Div2 still comes up on top). Div3 is significantly lower in that regard, with only 402 goals (36.55 average) scored.

Didn't adjust numbers for late answers or missed rounds... I believe that only happened in Div3?

@Strongkored I have Ons Jabeur Quarter 2 outright at almost 4/1, women's didn't have an outright winner market when I checked, might be available after today, I'd definitely double down on her. Not expected to win so soon after recovery but I like the odds.

P.S. For all those who don't use social media, or Telegram (I know some people who simply don't), please use LoyceV's notifier. It's really easy to setup, you can even bookmark the link and see notifications in your browser.
1675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 02, 2023, 11:32:49 AM
I would like to see Stuttgart in the first Bundesliga next season, i am not a fan of hamburg.

No allegiances for me here, though I always remember good exploits on betting with Hamburg -- what's more appealing to me right now though is this team Wehen Wiesbaden.

Don't want to Google them just yet, prefer to find out more about them IF they go through. Arminia also gave me some good memories, but I'll be looking forward to a new entrant in Bundesliga, I always love those sweet, sweet odds on new faces up against old favourites.
1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Robert Kennedy Jr a True Bitcoiner or a Pseudo Bitcoin supporter? on: June 02, 2023, 09:03:50 AM
Are BTT users true Bitcoiners or pseudo Bitcoin supporters? If you can answer that objectively, and explain why it matters, yeah, then I'll get to random US politicians.

Last time I checked, there was no prerequisites of character to use Bitcoin. Put your memes, use it for your political candidacy, motives pure or not, it all actually helps in the end.

As pooya87 says, what monkey do is more important than what monkey says. Every use is proof of concept.
1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 01, 2023, 07:25:11 PM
Yeah, I knew even as I was typing that it seems "nice" on paper, harder to simplify for implementation. I'm 100% on board with simplicity, that's the strength of BSFL I feel, but even following some of the rounds (which I do even when am not playing for points, it's that interesting haha), I feel like there really should be a small but clear advantage to people who pick outside of the box.

Tennis does seem to be the most, but also from memory (maybe I'm wrong), lineup picks and NBA points. Of course, as there is no reward for outlier picks, most of us go with stats and pick the top scorers, right? Some really good mid-scorers looked attractive as an outsider pick, but when playing for the same points, then you don't think too hard and go for the ones with best averages, who are often way above the middle-scorers.

IIRC in IO, Trofo and maybe a couple of others were the only ones who went for Rune in one of the tennis as finalists, I thought that was inspired and deserved some kind of half point haha.

And in a previous ATP, someone else also was the only one to pick one right non-favourite finalist -- yet they ended up drawing (I think because the other finalist was wrong). Such a big risk to take, and it didn't pay off. Maybe a further tiebreaker section for tennis, I agree it's way too important to skip: add something like: Number of games?

@casperBGD indeed, there was a round where everything was settled on the first 14 hours or so, as Igehh and I picked same answers everything else, but that was probably more luck than us choosing the favs. I can't remember, honestly.

@mv1986 the draws we were thinking of were on particular questions, rather than on round outcomes Wink If you go back, tennis questions are the worst culprit, with only a handful of greens on some, and at least one question where it was a yellow (draw) for everyone, again if my memory serves me. This is the issue I believe, where the question feels redundant, if everyone's going to answer the same (and those who answer different anyway don't win).
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2023 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: June 01, 2023, 05:01:23 PM
Definitely lots to chew on with 1miau's strategy, always easier thought of than replicated, obviously, haha. I'm going back to performance and form once more, and after Tsunoda tricked me into flirting with him again, I'm dropping him. I really hate how he keeps doing 10/11, which is actually overperformance from pre-race odds...

If i dont remember bad, it was in the Spanish GP from alst year when Mercedes make a magnificent preformance with a very cuestionable car, so now they have a much more better car and with a complete change who seems to work, can we see a much better performacne in that circuit that suits there really good?

I MIGHT be tempted to change picks depending on qualifying. With less football going on, maybe I start paying attention to F1. So yeah, if Mercedes actually do well, maybe I switch around. ATM Hammie's not quite yet on my podium.

^ Nope, no luck for anyone this season, meanwhile FJ's new Sportsbook is out, any early thoughts, anyone? FJ: did you change providers? Sort of noticed that odds aren't as cool any more for boxing. That was one of the book's key advantages over rivals before Wink

Also, I know I've mentioned this before but as I'm a big fan, don't mind repeating: bring back 4+1! Football season's over, but you can always bring it back for all major leagues next year (and hey, why not include internationals too right?).
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 01, 2023, 02:10:50 PM
history does not repeat, but often rhymes, Dean is a good manager, with good striker (Gyokeres would be great adding from Coventry), at least not thinking about survival is enough

I think there is scientific basis for cycles, even in sporting clubs. And unfortunately, Liverpool seem to be in 7th season funk, which especially appears to be true for Klopp -- I can only hope that we buck the trend. Am most nervous about how on earth we're replacing the midfield, something long overdue and now even more urgent that we've lost 3 key players in the position, should retire another, and will lose even the backup loan option.

Saint-Loup, conqueror of all pools...
