And what's to stop someone from copying the badge to their server and serving it up locally?
1722  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitFloor.com Rocks! on: June 14, 2012, 06:52:48 PM
If I may, a suggestion: how about the option to enable non-instant withdrawals, preceded by an instant email notification? This could potentially allow a user with a hacked account to intervene before coins get sent, if they got an email and they knew they hadn't actually sent a withdrawal.
1723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Version 0.6.2 available on: June 14, 2012, 06:49:25 PM
lol VB6. It's called Qt and it's from Nokia: http://qt.nokia.com/

And that's why it sucks Tongue
Looks far better than most Java stuff, you must admit.

If you really have 11,000 transactions, why are you even using the GUI?

And if you know how to program in wx, you are welcome to maintain the old version. Luke-Jr will even help you set it up.

It's more likely that only one backend from the load balanced setup is being attacked.

And you have to keep them on a USB stick stuck to your hip in order to be secure. Grin

Someone needs to tell him that Bitcoin was created by the CIA, not hackers. I'll bet he would flip his lid even more.

Awesome, he about to have a prolapsed anus yelling like that.
1728  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you take drugs; or buy them on silk road? Or sell them for that matter? on: June 14, 2012, 04:29:28 PM
Thanks for all the off-topic replies everyone :/
You know I meant illegal drugs.
Now I can't use this thread for proof.
LOL at the noob that wants to use a public forum thread as "proof" of anything. Did you want the answers to all be sanitized and cleaned for your viewing pleasure?

Ask them for a paypal email address to send to.  Cool
1730  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: But all I have is paypal on: June 14, 2012, 04:03:50 PM
I will sell you BTC for paypal
Why have you registered an account with a one-letter misspelling of a known user?
Do not send first to this person.

I ran 6x 5870s an one board (ASRock 970 Extreme4) for a while, never had to do any BIOS tweaks like that. Maybe it was automatic.

Should I be concerned about my btc balance on deepbit? I've got over a hundred just sitting there...

...should probably set auto transfers to my wallet lol.
I'm sure he would prefer that you didn't use him as a bank....

Not many admins use abuse reports, but they often can be more effective than some realize. Some guy over at WHT wrote a post with some scripts that could do some automated parsing of abuse emails from whois based on a list of IP addresses here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showpost.php?p=8163729&postcount=2
You could probably tweak that and then use it to email various ISPs with complaints.

Hello piuk, did you notice my comments above about the various buttons and things you can click having an I-beam cursor on mouseover? Is it possible to switch those to having a hand cursor like most people would expect to see?

Looks like a disaster waiting to happen...

I'd imagine the force of combustion in both chambers at once will eventually, if not immediately, crack that steel.
For a large caliber, yeah I would be worried about the same thing. But what MoonShadow was wanting was for a very small caliber, 22LR which seems doable. The hardest part would be the mechanism for loading and case ejection, from 3 barrels simultaneously.
1739  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dual use ASICs, Mining and Cracking on: June 14, 2012, 05:22:19 AM
Certainly it would be possible with some trivial design changes to support both - but the only cracking application it would have is with SHA256, and nothing else at all.

Since a bitcoin hash is one SHA256 piped into another SHA256, you would just need to provide a way to get info into and out from the middle of that 2-step process.
