1781  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Using Washer/Dryer power outlet for mining rigs? on: January 09, 2016, 02:12:32 AM
Don't they have a splitter for that plug? Because he would have to plug and unplug the miners everytime he wanted to use the dryer

either rewire the plug or replace the wall plug to match the PDU plug , is what i would do for peace of mind or run a new line to be even  safer then he doesn't have to worry about it being plugged in  or  forgets to unplug the PDU when he  uses the dryer or turn  off the miners , don't run a dryer on the same line as the miners at the same time , i couldn't get a friend or Electrician to give me good advice on sharing a dryer plug other then it's safer and cheaper, over time to run a new line for the miners . but if hes not using it, then why not replace the wall plug to match the PdU plug.

this is the correct adapter then.

I used this PDU: Tripp Lite PDU1230 Power Distribution Unit PDU 1U 20 Outlets 208/240V 30 Amp

I got it for under 100$ (shipping included) on ebay brand new. Comes with a 15 ft power cord, was easily long enough for my situation but you will have to see how many feet you need. I have a gas dryer that runs on 120v so my plug was unused. I would make sure you can keep your miners running because unplugging and plugging wouldnt be ideal. good luck!

That is one of the nicer Pdu brand new . it should be just as good used.if it the one with a amp meter.

These threads are just so annoying, you want it to be real, but everything about it does not add up. You just know that if this was your product, even at an early stage, the way you would present it and then follow up and answer questions would add information and credibility.

So it begs the question, given that unusually this is not a pre-sale, why do it?  OP what is the answer?

Rich
yes. we just announce the news. and pre-order still not start yet.

So you will start building this miner from scratch as soon as you get the chips from Bitfury ?
yes.

dude tip  don't do per-orders, I would do per-sells if you care enough, wait till you have it in hand then sell it or take orders then, because if you need cash to buy the chips etc  that can lead to  bad things down the  road ands usually does , by taking per-orders that tells me you either need the cash to buy the chips or you plan to steal it which I hope is not your motive and so much can happen, in two months that can lead to bad or good things . and i have seen good intentions go to the way side because of time . if you noticed i have not once called this a scam, i did say if it's not, that doesn't mean the same thing with me .

I've been using EVGA Supernova 1600W power supplies to run my S7s and they're working well but I've got new ones on the way and miners running in 3 rooms of the house. It's fine now that winter is mostly here but It would be better to have all the folding rigs in the basement. Right now I can have 2 s7s down there on 2 different breakers but would it be possible to use the wall socket for the washer and dryer to power 2 more miners down there? Is anyone doing this now? Any suggestions on adapters to go from the heavy duty socket to PDU or normal 3 prong?

it safer to put in another line at maybe the same cost of what your tiring with less risk to your home if your box has the room Smiley .. if it doesn't that might become another issue at some point and buy a used PDU , but then again I'm not sure what you might call a lot of money for a PDU. I would plug the PDU direct into the wall they all  come with  long enough cords so you can pretty much set it up all most any place you want to and at no risk of extending some thing that is made to be plugged directly in to the wall with no in between. to me plugging a PDU into another plug just to use it, is like using a extension cord to plug in another extension cord  for more plugs which can be very unsafe . but that's me . and PDU's do have extensions you can add on them that are safe but be care full not to over load one .

Well it's up on the site now.
2k solid :/

two problems i see so far no real miner is posted on there site yet, just a computer generated picture. and in two months time bitmain may have a better one on the market at a cheaper price or lower there's enough were you can get three for 2k other wise prove me wrong, send off a few now for reviews because i some how got a feeling they will be selling used miners for 2k if  there not scamming now . while bitmain does send off new not used and does let us know if they are used at least all my S5 i bought, looked new , felt new etc that i bought as new. .

and this is a pre order not a per sell imo . to me a pre order means you are paying for something that doesn't exist yet and you are taking a big risk and pre sell means it does exist and is really to be shipped in days not months. Like bitmain does .

I agree fully rich

Side hack does give a step by step with real picture of the real miner as he makes it and does Per-sales not per-orders  . which we all like and does come thu for the home miner, which is no real threat at all to any of the big guys, it is just pure greed at this point .I don't believe bitfury at all , till i see it and do they really mean it  or are they blowing smoke out there ass for attention to help pay for the dev they did and have no real intention what so ever of selling anything to the public they just need to recover the money it took to make the chip if it even exists. .
the other supplier miner price may be dropped to competive with us. but new asic is not like one piece of cake. so, in next coming 6 months, only this aisc can do  100W/THS .

That's BS or prove me wrong !!! ..  simple put unless you have spy's  inside bitmian you have no idea what they are up to .

cya i gonna watch this thread but at this point seeing is believing . Smiley .

We are back with latest 16nm ASIC,supported by BITFURY.
1, 10THS/miner,
2,100W/THS on wall.
3, 4X 6pin PCI-E
4, Gross weight 5KG
5, size: 350x140x155(adjustable according the design)
the price is BTC0.42/THS, fob china.
miner ship at end of march or early April.

we provide hosting service at the same time. 0.09usd/kwh.

it is a nice miner.

I am willing to do a long write up on this site. with fair and honest photos and results.

My conditions are simple send the demo when it is ready.

I won't even keep it I would return it or ship it to a customer.

I would just do a fair 7-14 day review.

Send him one he will send it back , and back  this up . by the way philipma1957  does things he may even buy it Smiley. other wise this reminds me of a script miner some one tried to pass off on the alt coin forum one time, some one said all most the exact same thing send him one hell send it back.
1788  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 16nm ASIC, 10THS/MINER,100w/THS on wall. on: January 08, 2016, 11:34:34 AM
I'm not calling it a scam either. I'm criticizing the innards render. I guess it works if they want people to only know the location of fans and heatsinks inside the case, but there isn't really much of it that makes sense. Even the screw holes on the outside housing don't make a lot of sense yet. I'll let everyone else argue about the price and viability and trustworthiness of the poster and whatever.

I thought the same thing it looked to cartoon like and the cost is to much for the ship date and it's a per order for two months out ,to many negatives and not one positive,  if it was out the door by the end of this month and really shipped .Then maybe we have another bitmain with price wars and reason ably priced miners once again .The Price is kind of  justified if it ships this month etc .
1789  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Code taric declared by bitmain on: January 08, 2016, 10:59:15 AM
tip man if i was you find out what happen for sure then take it up with them you may mess things up for every one else if you keep pushing it, seen it happen and not here but in my day to day life .I hate for bitmain to stop selling to the public because of this, these guys on the forums are  not being pussy either you can bet if they were being fucked they would say so., i have seen it happen in the past,

bitmain is not stealing anything from you ,they don't need too , the way it sounds some one made a mistake , you get more bees with honey then you do with vigor. So be nice to bitmian they might help you more, other wise if i was you prove they are stealing or back off before it's to late .Just a friendly tip.I know how it feels when you get told one thing then end up paying out the ass because of some third party or middle mans, Mistake.

Sorry don't take what i said wrong it's not meant to be just a tip from life expes and other things ive seen happen.

then do not vote out of fear that does not provide more bitmain miner users?

congratulations, you had to be born a woman, not man.
has nothing to do what you say, because bitmain not doing anything illegal,
because the code taric that should put is the right one, if not bitmain insert the code, any customs has the privilege to put any code for you to pay the duty, even though the law does not affect pay.

Bravo continues so, to allow you to steal money

sorry i can't and won't vote i have yet to order a S7 right now with real life health issue i have to pay DR bills off even with insurance they don't care etc , i can't afford a S7 or id have one , i do have standards, i follow my self.

I all ready told you more then was  needed or i should have . f i don't use it or have it why lie.

1792  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What would be a good asic miner to start with? on: January 07, 2016, 01:24:06 AM
At this point in the Bitcoin mining game I would say the best miner to start with would be the SP35 Yukon Power miner.
https://vimeo.com/114685493

It's $2,235
Which is expensive but it will pay off, now that the halving is coming we really have no choice but to buy expensive ass hardware.
I've had some success with it.

Really??? Even better than S7???
Can you tell me what's the hash rate???
Or are you trying to sell it knowing that you committed a mistake buying it yourself??? Tongue

It's not better , for that amount of cash you can buy two S7 and more then likely make it back in a few months if you do it right .
1793  Other / Archival / Re: AntMiner S5 for sale! on: January 06, 2016, 03:25:05 AM

1794  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Customs! How much did they ripped off your miner at your country? on: January 05, 2016, 09:33:14 PM
im in the US and have had 2 UPS shipments for single s7's charged a $39 customs brokerage fee.. both times were in a span of a few months so its weird

Can't say i haven't been able to afford a S7, i don't do it to make money, it's mostly for fun and keep me sane ,and  yea for some cash maybe get back i put in to it . i know if i want to make any thing i need like 30 to 40 miners running some place either in my home or some data center some place to actually make anything over what i put in to it .

but yea it is strange how you get a bill for imports in the US with no real reason why other then some one messed up and we have to eat there mistake. is all i can think .
1795  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Customs! How much did they ripped off your miner at your country? on: January 05, 2016, 08:54:45 PM
In the US I know that under a claimed value of $2500 there is no Duty or Tax to be paid with goods shipped from China.

I always use UPS and only once was I charged a brokerage fee ($40). Why that one time charge I have no idea as over the past couple years I've gotten several dozen Ants with no fees charged. However, that was when the ordered equipment value was under $2k.

I just placed an order to Bitmain for 2 more s7's and with shipping total is $2545 so I'll soon know if that changes.

want a bet or watch which shipper you use or you may be charge a small a mount . i had it happen , in the US from bitmain or china .!!! then told i had to pay it !!! then told i didnt have to then charged any way . so watch the shipper you use mainly don't use FEDEX if it comes from china you may get a hidden bill for custom fees and taxes from them they claim they paid that was for one S5 i used FedEx to save on shipping bad idea , i have also ordered with ups or a few with ups shipping have yet to get any hidden bills or surprise bills, so for me, i will just pay the 10 so more for shipping and no hidden bills.

This might help some.

I learned fast the hard way http://x2t.com/423597

PS: if they do pay some thing on your behalf as they call it.they will also charge you a fee for doing it on top of the real so called fee then lie to you.
1796  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What would be a good asic miner to start with? on: January 05, 2016, 02:40:29 AM
The forums has a trade channel some of the  sellers are from the EU and you can trust them , any thing they sell they will back it up or all the stuff i have bought off the forums they have, i have yet to be ripped off , as for  ebay i would get back with the sellers see what they will do if they care about there rep  they may replace those miners that stopped , I'm not sure how the EU ebay works but they may offer a return even if the sellers won't you may get your money back if you do, come back here and use this link .

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

Look for deals i would use escrow in your case and only buy from Sr. Members and up with no bad red marks or bad comments by there names , make sure to read what they say.

follow the sidehack link his stuff is sold in the EU even thu he based in the US.

and here is link for PSU supply's were you live or they may be able to help you some, one other member here said check it out in this post.

If you buy bitcoins this is another way to invest that is safer then cloud mining but all ways remember that noting is fool proof.

https://btcjam.com/  I have few a hundred dollars in bitcoins inverted.

These is all ways risk with anything, including hard ware mining or having your own mining gear, which is the safest way to get bitcoins but it has it's risk like any thing.

Here are a few good suppliers of bitcoin gear in the US if he has it in stock he has a hard  time keeping most of the PSU break out boards in stock but he is in the US.

http://holybitcoin.com/

or this one but his stuff , to me is kind of out dated

http://www.gigampz.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html

another way to go ..

sidehack he offers a lot and dev gear, if he can get the chips at a very reason able price and is for the home miner. links to what hes tiring to do for us on the forums and his site.

1799  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: January 01, 2016, 12:33:00 AM
toptek - you cannot overclock these with software only. You have to manually turn up the voltage in order to get higher clock rates to work. Provided it stays cool, you cannot break the stick by turning the voltage up too high. If you somehow do, and it's not the result of something like running it at full power with no heatsink and the ASIC melts off, I'll fix it. If you get a stick that doesn't work or misbehaves right out of the box, I'll fix it. But to determine what's misbehaving about it - whether it's grounds for warranty repair or just some misconfiguration, you have to be willing to do some hardware diagnosis and tweaking.

I know ,i was saying i wasn't taking the stick over defaults and id rather soft ware oc if i do ,  and the only thing i do OC is my PCs for games, i still play WoW and it's a nice PC/s i have three PC  i built and keep them upgraded with new parts as needed or as they come out and are good enough to replace the old ones, some new released gear is shit, so, i don't upgrade to it, till it is improved more .  and also sense you all tested it before it was shipped, i have no idea how it got out of adjustment, and no one in my house would, i didn't do it, i assumed  it came  with default setting which broke the first rule of PC 101 or anything all ways make sure don't assume. if i had fully made sure i would not be here explaining or asking :") . other wise forget it, i won't return it . if it was over a 100 bucks i would . i got it working with CG you did your part, ID rather use BFG . I am very willing to TS stuff  if it seems I'm not there are reason for that i all ways  do and will be willing to, it's others that are not so i end up being a ass and don't want to be.i did say i don't like doing it if i don't understand it fully by that i meant i will i need to read or study it more till i understand what is being said then i know it better then most who know it now etc etc. I love tweaking stuff but i have no skills for most hard ware tweaking at the hard ware level but will do it and i know the risk , i have messed up a few S5 and PC tiring different hard ware modes. and other stuff over the years .

Dude, I'm asking for help. I too don't know if they are legit. I just need some help. If you could, It'd be great.

Its an obvious scam, even the private companies don't have this kind of hardware, this is generation ahead of what could be possible with the best technology available and if it did exist, it would certainty not be dirt cheap, a tiny fraction of what current hardware goes for.

So all you're doing is telling unaware people that you did a search on this and found it to be legitimate.

TLDR:You're advertising a scam and you're a brand new account, everyone is going to think you're a Chill and maybe even give you red trust. I'd recommend you edit atop your first post in red that its 99.999999% certain to be a scam, if you want to avoid Flak from the community.

I agree that was to cheap it should be more like 12 k or more for that thing .and on that exchange with a store in another post i said about some guy pushing b1  it was listed at 14nm and was about the time KNC released info on there solar chips , same 20 th and price was offering help anyone get a loan for a fee.
