This 50% rule is the main loophole in DRS or umpire call.
It's not a disadvantage to batters imo, it's just you are empowering the toothless bowlers. When the ball actually kisses the stumps, bails get dislodged it doesn't matter if it's 1%-10$ or so on. You don't say that it's just clipping or batters are in a disadvantage.
So why give benefit of the doubt to umpires and batters when it comes to LBW?
OK.. then maybe we can agree on that. But time is also important. As you mentioned, the bowlers are feeling toothless these days. I just hope that the players will not waste too much time in appealing and reviewing the decisions. From my perspective, the only disadvantage with DRS which I have observed till now is the wastage of time in reviewing the decisions. And in some cases, the players just review them, just for the sake of it. Finding the right balance between 100% accuracy and finishing the matches on time is very important. Excessive and unnecessary appeals happen all the time and umpires do have complete control over it as they have the right to penalize players or captains, given they have been warned once. Also when the captains do take review it doesn't take much time as they have only 15 secs to take a DRS call, problems come with the 3rd umpire cause sometimes in pressure moments they even take 2-3 mins. Don't forget Tyrell Malacia always keep Salah in the left corner, this make Salah not comfortable and have a space to shots. I think Malacia deserve to be in starter line to replace Shaw, he's not good in the left back position. The other back position also good since they're do many tackles and blocked many shots from Liverpool, very good performance without Maguire lol. If Casemiro will replace Bruno and Ronaldo play as the center forward, Manchester United might have better result.

the DLS system is actually good, it takes the net run rate, the required run rate, wickets in hand, overs reduced, and almost everything in two accounts and decides a target, but it does not take into account the situation of the outfield and also the condition of the pitch, that’s the biggest problem Lol that's a weird one, forgetting neutral umpire's ruling?
Also i do remember famous Bucknor and couple of others who loved to raise fingers at any given time when Indians were batting.

For every one Bucknor, we have 10-15 from the other side. I really don't know what was the issue with Bucknor. He used to hate the Indian players for whatever be the reason. Anyway, when all the other boards were fine with DRS, the BCCI was the only board which opposed it. Naturally that gives rise to suspicion. Whenever a new innovation was proposed in cricket, the BCCI came out against it. Remember their opposition to the T20 format two decades back? We were fortunate that back then they didn't had much power or dominance over the ICC. i don’t think they could have done anything even if they had the power that they have right now over ICC, because i believe that every other team would have actually excepted that T20 format like they did and India actually could have become an outcast, but it’s good that anything like this didn’t happen, and ironically India is generating the most revenue through IPL which is based on the T20 format |

But what's the alternative? There isn't any other solution proposed by any board to replace this non sense DLS. Apart from DLS there are eyebrows on DRS also. Many times board are caught of manipulating the system to have results of there own.
One of the reasons why the BCCI opposed DRS for so long. Previously the Indian team used to get the benefit from umpires, when the matches are being played in India. But with the DRS getting implemented, this advantage evaporated. Still there is a loophole called "umpire's call" which can be manipulated by the home team. I am fully in favor of DRS, but we need to remove this loophole. Otherwise the DRS has done a lot of good things to cricket. Detection of no-ball and reversal of inaccurate decisions help in a big way. Lol that's a weird one, forgetting neutral umpire's ruling? I strongly disagree as in my opinion Casemiro is a defensive midfielder and not an attacking midfielder. However in couple of last year's he might have contributed in attack but don't mistake him as a attacking midfielder. His primary job is ball retention and defend against attacks which he is good at. He is a strong ball possession holder which United urgently requires right now. all i am saying is that Casemiro is a player who is very strong and he has the capability of winning the ball at any given stage and any given position in the field, the way Manchester United is playing right now i believe Manchester United need to be a little more aggressive in their approach as far as i am concerned about Casemiro, he can play in almost any position in the midfield area, he can play as an attacking midfielder, defending midfielder, and LM/RM position as well so i don’t think it is going to be any problem for Manchester United to play Casemiro as a player who can play in different positions |

Yeah, because no one can really guessed it accurately, but the thing is that there are some tools that can help us though, to help us make a 'educated guess'. In the last 24 hours, I was surprised to see a huge decline in the price again, from $25k->$23k and now $21k. I haven't check the news though, maybe there could be some negativity lately that could have impacted the investors mindset again. Anyhow, we will see if we will touch $13k or not, that is too low, or that decline could be in the 80%++ from the previous all time high. bitcoin had previously dropped to $17k due to the luna crash causing panic in the market, but then bitcoin went up to $20k and stayed there for a long time before moving to $23k and quickly then to $25k. unfortunately, it didn't last much longer and was adjusted shortly after yesterday, bitcoin dropped quite quickly to the $21k area and it remains above $21k for today, it is very difficult to predict if it will drop below $20k again or not, but $13k is a level I don't think is possible the worst cases have passed so there is no reason for bitcoin to drop to that level |

I see the current dip as a temporary setback for Bitcoin price and if fed members are blamed for the present price conditions that are dragging the price down to 20k then a lot should be expected in the coming days and weeks ahead. Because the economic harhsness will last for a while and assets like Bitcoin will be the worst heated in this period.
Sometimes people see dip market of cryptocurrencies as something that brings setback in cryptocurrency but from me, i see such that thing like correction of the market price, because after Bitcoin or cryptocurrency undergoes the change in the market another thing that occurs in cryptocurrency is that, the bullish market. So what ever that happens during the time of bullish market is the correction ^ I don't think why people worry when there is a short correction happen, other people will probably be happy because they know that there is a chance for them to invest while the market has a correction. When BTC is pumped, it is expected that BTC will have a correction after a week or months. If you notice, the BTC price was now in a zigzag position upon movement, who knows after this correction, it will pump again and it could be broken into another ATH. Purchase BTC in the DCA way was common advice by the experts and the safest method for reinvesting in a long term. those worried could be those who bought bitcoin at a high and they don't have much money left for dca if bitcoin continues to fall but the falling price will be the opportunity many have been waiting for a long time to buy bitcoin at a discounted price if you invest in bitcoins with idle money and you have absolute faith in bitcoins then no matter what price you buy, you will lose nothing until you sell them although bitcoin has fallen and could drop further, it will be able to pump again and it will hit a new ath for sure |

I still believe that Bitcoin is still in bear market. What we had experienced about the recovery of Bitcoin is just another lower high due to the relief rally that had been long overdue. I also think that the bear market will continue to exist until the mid year of 2023 since the market will be transitioning to Bull market due to Bitcoin halving hypes.
i have the same thoughts as you, the bear market is not going to end so soon, we are probably only 1/3 of the way through the bear season and maybe the bear season will end by the end of 2023 in a bull market there will be some minor corrections and similarly in a bear market there will also be short-term rallies, so be careful with short term rallies like last few days it's just a trap |
