Tried to watch the Sri Lanka vs Ireland match in SONY LIV. But found it too boring. Bowlers are hardly getting any assistance from the pitch and the Irish bowlers also don't have any sting. So far only one wicket has fallen and Sri Lanka looks set for a big score in the range of 500-600 runs by the end of second day's play. The second wicket partnership between Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis is now worth 89 runs. The only wicket to fall so far (Nishan Madushka) went to medium pacer Curtis Campher.
Kusal Mendis and Karunaratne both scored centuries. And at this moment, the Sri Lanka team has collected 258 runs with the loss of 1 wicket. I don't think the performance of Ireland's bowlers will be that poor. I expected a more responsible performance from Ireland's bowlers. Because Ireland's bowlers performed very well against Bangladesh in the last test match. Looks likely to score more than 360 today. If Sri Lanka manages to score more than 500 in the first innings, it will not be possible for Ireland to fight for a draw or win the match.

Sri Lanka has already scored 322/1 And it is still not the end of the first day. I believe Sri Lanka will go for a score of around 450 and declare.

Ireland of course is not going to score anywhere near that. But I think the job will mostly depend on Sri Lanka bowlers. Otherwise, I believe the match is going to end in a draw. There are very few chances of this match being a win for Ireland or even being a draw in my opinion.  The way Sri Lanka players are scoring, Ireland should aim for a draw in this match. Because otherwise, it is going to be a televisional decision to go for a will for Ireland.

The Kolkata Knight Riders match has just started. Now nothing can be said which team will ensure the victory but if we compare in terms of performance, I see the possibility of Kolkata Knight Riders to win. But IPL is such a platform that it is not right to see any team as small here. If Kolkata Knight Riders can take the target of 200 plus runs then the match will be easy.
Kolkata's opening pair could not have played well today. Narayan Jagadeesan returned to the dressing room without scoring a run in 5 balls. On the other hand, Rahamanullah Gurbaz is unbeaten with 6 runs off 7 balls. I don't know why Gurbaz is being given a chance in the team after performing poorly in every match. If Gurbaz can't play well in today's match then maybe the Kolkata team will replace Gurbaz with Liton Das in the next match.
Kolkata managed to collect 33 runs in 3.2 overs. Venkatesh Iyer is batting well. He collected 19 runs off 8 balls.

The opening pair, of Kolkata Knight Riders, have basically failed in this match. One obviously got out by scoring zero after 5 balls. Another is still in the middle but he has scored only 7 from 10.

The score is 47/1 and most of the runs have been scored by V. Iyer (32 from 14). Also, 10 extra runs have been given by the Mumbai Indian teams already.

I think the opening pair needs to be changed. It would be interesting to see how Liton Das can perform if given a chance on the opening pair.

Our world is called a society, and as a society, there will be many different types of people. We cannot expect everyone to use and accept bitcoin as we do. Even the internet today really brings undeniable benefits, and it is as necessary as water in our lives, but there is still a part of the elderly who do not like the internet because they think it destroys their children. Bitcoin too, it's good, but it's not perfect so I don't see a problem that only some people hate it.
Don't care too much about what other people think of it, if you find it beneficial for you, enjoy and use it your way.
1104  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Being Russia and Russian now on: April 16, 2023, 08:21:14 AM
Indeed, the economic sanctions imposed by Western Europe and the U.S. on Russia have primarily targeted banks, oligarchs, and technology imports. These measures were intended to curb Moscow's involvement in Ukraine's conflict and pressure the Russian government to change its policies. However, it is also true that the sanctions have not significantly impacted ordinary Russians' daily lives. However, economic sanctions can have long-term consequences on a country's economy, and it is difficult to predict their full impact over time. In the case of Russia, some analysts believe that the sanctions may have contributed to a decline in foreign investment and slowed economic growth.

Europe and the US have used almost all possible sanctions to put pressure on Russia. If it is not true to say that Russia is not affected, this will more or less affect the Russian economy is inevitable. But to say sanctions will kill or destroy the Russian economy so far, the plan of the US and its allies has completely failed. In the long term, I have a more optimistic view of the Russian economy because it will have time to find new partners and allies and fix things faster than it can. Europe is not the only customer in the world, so Europe's absence will be resolved, but things take time.
Sanctioning Russia was the right thing to do, however we must recognize that sanctions hardly if ever work on forcing a government to change course, and what better example of this than Cuba, Cuba has been subjected to sanctions by the US for more than 60 years and yet communism is still there after such a long time and it is not like the Cuban government is close to change its ways anytime soon, then I expect something similar could happen at Russia, the living standards of the population will drop but Putin will remain in power.

Russia is a great power, has rich natural resources, and is the world's second largest supplier of oil and gas, a comparison with Cuba is a lame comparison. The US can only bully small countries but cannot crush powerful countries like Russia and China.

More than a year has passed, and we can see that Russia is still standing up to the sanctions and that their energy industry is bringing in huge revenue. With that, they have turned to Asia, looking for new partners, I really doubt that their economy will collapse or will fall into a deadlock like Cuba. If the US and its allies want to destroy the Russian economy completely, they should have a new, more effective solution.
1105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 15, 2023, 05:17:07 PM
After I watched the way Manchester City demolished Bayern Munich with ease at the Etihad Stadium, I guess the chances for Leicester City hoping to gain any points from this upcoming match against Manchester City is extremely low. I think Manchester City will be able to beat Leicester City relatively easily.
I was doubting City, until they have a thrilling victory against Bayern Munich who is also an elite club in bundlesliga. Etihad stadium is an undefeated ground for city, they always have the higher hands to beat their opponents with ease. Pep Guardiola priority this season is, to grab the EPL and UCL trophy. Leicester city won't stand a chance against the home club, Manchester city will dominate the game fulltime, I'll bet my ticket on city because I'm confident with the club performance.
So true. And I think this game is also an important game for Manchester City. Because Man City must get full points from this match to get close to the point difference with Arsenal. Because if Man City only gets a draw in this match then the point difference with Arsenal will be even further away. and the chances for Man city to overtake Arsenal will be even slimmer. so I'm sure that in this match Man City will play with maximum performance.

after 45 minutes, Man City 3 - 0 Leicester City

The thing is, Manchester City already has a huge advantage, going into the second leg against Bayern Munich. So I don’t think they would like to compromise the English Premier League matches because of the champions league match that they are most certainly going to win.

I believe Manchester City is going to put the same importance on that English Premier League match as the champions league match. They would not like to lose in either of them. My prediction is they will go for a draw in the second leg of the champions league match and go for a win in the English Premier League match.

This serves as yet another reminder that regardless of how much money you make, you should never grow comfortable with it and neglect to plan for your later years all because you believe that the money will always be there.

This is exactly how your uncle felt when he was young and active in duty. He thinks that since he was able to support his family, and nothing would ever change that's why he keeps feeling bittered each time he remembered his past life missed opportunities he would have utilize on when on service to prepare for old age
We do have to take heed of the story the OP told about his uncle having few regrets at this point. as a result he did not prepare himself for old age since he was young. We all certainly want to have a comfortable life when we are old. but preparing since young is also not as easy as said. but yeah we have to try as much as possible to always be able to set aside our money to save or invest for the long term.

Maybe a few years back when the Covid-19 pandemic attacked us all. then we all end up spending more than we make. even my savings at that time were almost gone. but the current economic conditions have gradually recovered. even the inflation rate in America has also decreased in recent months. and this is an opportunity for us to restart our financial planning for old age.

When we were young, we worked not only for ourselves but also for our family, children, and parents…a hundred things to take care of in this tumultuous life. It can be said that getting some old age savings is not an easy thing.
I also admit that starting building for old age according to plan is difficult, but we should not give up because when we get old, we will suffer a hundred times more than now. Life is very difficult these days, but we have health and time, and if we try our best, there is still a chance for us. When we get old, we will not regret it because sometimes in life, trying is not necessarily successful, but not trying is even more regretful.

Probably game over for KKR but if you look at their batting card then it's almost a perfect chase.

Struggling batters got out without wasting many deliveries and those who were in good nick scored valuable runs with a healthy run rate. Using all batting resources is a good tactic in T-20.

Also, Harry Brook is back.  Grin

The match is over and Sunrises Hyderabad has won the match by 23 runs.

Overall a bad performance from them. In that match where Rinku performed absolutely unbelievable innings in the last hour, I did say that if this situation is created again, I don’t think KKR will be able to win. That’s exactly what happened here. KKR not just give as much as they can while bowling, and somehow think about chasing that down. This time KKR was unable to get anything going in the last over.

1109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency. on: April 14, 2023, 02:16:46 PM
5 years is a very long time, and there will be a lot of changes in the market. Aside from BTC and ETH, I really don't believe in any other coin, not just your list but the entire market, there won't be any altcoins worth betting on in the next 5 years.
As we have seen, altcoins are constantly being replaced after each bear season, and there is no guarantee that coins like ADA, DOT, and SOL...will not be replaced by new names like APT, ARB, layerzero, Aleo...and there are many potential projects under development. My view on investing in altcoins is to limit investing in old altcoins and instead wait for new projects after each bear season ends.
1110  Economy / Economics / Re: Could there be a new financial system not dependent on USD? on: April 14, 2023, 01:52:48 PM

Yes exactly. As long as there is a mutual agreement between everyone, it is not impossible to even create new currency to be used or change the financial system in which it won't be dependent on USD. In regards to changinf currencies, we are all aware that there have been mamy issues involved with USD even from before, and there are so many countries who are already waiting to be next reserved currency.

The currency alone is easy, but the agreement is the one that seems possible. We know that before it reaches some sort of agreement, there're various procedures to follow and it is also possible that there will be debates and arguments to follow.
Perhaps the desire of the BRICS countries to get rid of the dollar is indeed there. Russia, for example, has not only a desire, but also a necessity. Because it is actually cut off from the dollar and the euro by the imposed sanctions. There has long been a cold war for economic supremacy between China and the US. But Russia, China, like the rest of the BRICS countries, depend on technology and trade with the EU and the US. And without these technologies, they will not develop rapidly. Therefore, not everything is as simple as it seems at first glance. Each member of the BRICS will still have their own interests. So I don't think they will succeed.

I admit to you that in terms of technology, the US and EU are superior at the moment. But the world doesn't work that way, all need each other, and each has a strength, no one monopolizes everything. China and India are the two most populous countries in the world, they have an abundant labor force, and Russia has huge energy resources. Not to mention, we can see China's technology is constantly developing, it is only a matter of time before they surpass the US or EU.
It is extremely difficult to get rid of dependence on the hundred-year-old USD empire, but nothing is impossible, and no one stands on top of the glory forever.
1111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: April 13, 2023, 11:35:02 PM
About being predictable I can say many teams are unpredictable and they have unstable performances and PSG is one of them but the average of their performance was good enough to be on top of the table in the French league as the first team, PSG lost many points because of the bad performance we from this team before, the match between Lyon and PSG was one example for performance in PSG, but against Lens, they have to win the game.
At this time Lens is right below PSG in the standings while second in Ligue1 and yes PSG must be able to win the game this weekend so that the gap in points can continue to be created even though PSG can still be at the top of the standings if they lose this weekend's game. However, PSG must be able to try to win at home in this match besides having to get full points in the match because Lens is not far behind PSG in the standings.

Lens might be directly under PSG, but PSG still has a lead of six points. That is certainly something that PSG is not going to throw away. I agree that PSG has been very inconsistent, I say “vary“ because that’s what it seems like, considering the fact that they have some of the best in the world in their squad.

The team that PSG had made, was supposed to win everything. But they are able to hardly win anything other than the Ligue One title. I don’t think they will be pressured by limbs. But it is also not very impossible.
1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: April 13, 2023, 11:19:21 PM
Maybe Real Madrid are hopeless about the La Liga title from now on but they still have two more achievable titles on the line for them. These are Copa del Rey and Champions League ones. Their opponent in the Copa del Rey finale is Osasuna because of that I think Real Madrid can surely reach the title there. But when it comes to the Champions League we never know what can happen this time.

They are surely one of the title contenders but Manchester City seem really determined this time.  Grin  Anyway my point is that Real Madrid aren't having a bad season anyway just because they lost most of their chance for the La Liga title. I'm pretty sure Real Madrid board are contented with Ancelotti's management here. I think they would like to continue with him for a longer time period as well.
However it feels like the rumours about Ancelotti will turn out to be true and he will decide to leave by his own choice anyway.

Real Madrid is a great competitor for any tournament. We just saw how they destroyed Barcelona in the COPA Del Rey semi-final. Honestly, that was also unexpected. I think we can also agree that Real Madrid is a team that can bring in an expected results, in favor of themselves.

Considering the fact that they have been a very dominant team in the champions league, I don’t care how determined Manchester City is, Real Madrid should still be the winner. They do not have any chance in La Liga, to be honest. But in other tournaments, they are bossing it right now.
1113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 13, 2023, 08:15:44 PM
Many batsmen have already become wary of such a dismissal. And they now don't get out of bounds before the ball is bowled. If such dismissals were not made then maybe the batsmen would have done such things regularly. But such outs are very rare. Tellers generally do not favor this type of out. But when the match is in many contests, many choose such out opportunities.
But such outs are unexpected for every batsman and player.  Especially when a world-class bowler does such things, many criticize them and say that if a world-class bowler like him resorted to such outs, what lessons will those who follow him learn from him? But every batsman should be careful about this. No matter how much pressure the team is under
Obviously there are a small number of batsmen who take advantage of this. And I agree that bowlers and batsmen should be treated equally. With free-hit and all, cricket has become a game of the batsmen with bowlers toiling very hard without much say in the proceedings. It is the duty of the batsmen to get back to the crease while the ball is being delivered. The bowler is not duty bound to give repeated warnings to the batsmen who doesn't follow this protocol. But the ICC should come up with clear rules regarding this, rather than putting everything in the grey zone.

Let’s get one thing straight. In cricket, bowlers and Batmen are never going to be treated equally. There is always going to be a favorite for the batting side. And that is very understandable why that should happen. After all, it is also a sport. And any sport has to be entertaining. Otherwise, it is not going to make money. But this role I absolutely agree with this.

Just imagine it is the last ball and two runs are required. Imagine how crucial that one step from the non-striker can be. But of course, any rule should be clear-cut. The problem is cricket has been operating in the gray zone for a long time. Very few things seem to be clear-cut, black and white.
1114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can owning 1 Bitcoin make you rich in 2023? on: April 13, 2023, 12:29:35 PM

I agree that bitcoin not only brings wealth but also gives us financial freedom, we are no longer completely controlled by the government. But I won't agree with you about the bank asking many questions when we go to the bank to withdraw money. I don't think it's interrogation or torture, but since they want to make sure you're the real owner, it's just a form of bank-style security to verify things. If you don't want those cumbersome procedures, you can save your money in other ways because no one is forcing you to deposit money in the bank, it's all voluntary.

I would understand if the banking procedures that cause too much hassle to their very own depositors are done solely for the sake of security, for the sake of protecting their clients' hard-earned money. The problem is that they aren't. You are even charged a fee for not keeping a certain amount of money in your account, and when you withdraw, you are also given a limit. That's ridiculous! And look at all the banking fiascoes happening in different parts of the world. You must have also heard of the current banking crisis and how those collapsed banks are giving their clients sleepless nights.

As I said, no one forced us to deposit money in the bank, it was all voluntary, and if voluntary, they had to follow the rules set by them. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to play with them, banks are also business companies and need to be profitable, and no one works for free. Just like we are using the forum, we need to follow the rules of the forum.

Yes, I have heard about the banking crisis, and that is also the reason Satoshi created bitcoin after the 2008 crisis. But nothing is 100% safe, even if you hold bitcoin, you are still at risk of hacker attacks, and rare incidents...And you have to agree with me that no matter how bad the bank is, we still need it, and it's never going to go away. I don't advise or say that using the bank is the best, but I won't deny and won't badmouth it because we still use it every day. Bitcoin is a better option than a bank in many respects, but banking is still necessary for us.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin overshadowed by economic lie on: April 13, 2023, 12:15:58 PM
If you compare bitcoin to traditional assets, a decade is nothing, just like gold has been and is recognized for thousands of years while bitcoin is only 14 years old. For me, the growth of bitcoin is unprecedented and without delay.

Although negative news about bitcoin is spread daily, but with the growth of the internet and freedom of speech, there is also a lot of positive bitcoin news.
Yeah Bitcoin is still nothing compared to traditional assets e.g. fiat, gold, stock etc, actually Bitcoin adoption is already widely accepted despite it's only exist 14 years, many bad news and it's not influenced by any countries, El Salvador and Central African Republic were accept Bitcoin as a currency on the previous year.

In social media you can talk anything, but don't think it's a freedom of speech because if you're radicalism and a government consider you're have a high risk or suspicious personal, don't be surprised either they will expose you or close your account.

Social media is also created by the government, so of course, they can control us, and freedom of speech, I don't mean you can say anything, or insult them or spread wrong things. But here, we have the right to express our views and use peaceful words, don't try to fight them, they have no reason to attack you, unless you live in a country with an extremist government. But in my opinion, no matter what measures they take, they can never stop the truth, if they could, bitcoin would not have developed as it is today.
1116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin overshadowed by economic lie on: April 12, 2023, 08:45:46 AM
Bitcoin has been around for over a decade, but adoption and investment in it are still relatively low compared to traditional assets. This is partly due to negative propaganda and disinformation about Bitcoin spread by banks and billionaires who benefit from the current economic system. Despite this, many experts believe Bitcoin is a valuable asset for long-term price growth. As more people become aware of the benefits of Bitcoin and blockchain technology, we may see an increase in adoption and investment.

Most people have heard of bitcoin. It's just that people are satisfied with their current lives and don't want to change or accept the new, only those who don't accept their fate are looking for the new, and bitcoin is an option. I know many people who know about bitcoin, but they are living a rich life, they say they have no reason to accept the challenge more because they worked so hard to get where they are today. Not everyone needs bitcoin, and bitcoin doesn't need everyone to accept it to survive.
1117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can owning 1 Bitcoin make you rich in 2023? on: April 12, 2023, 08:22:34 AM
Others may not agree with my opinion, but I think financial freedom in the context of Bitcoin doesn't have anything to do with having much money you don't have to worry about it anymore. I think financial freedom in Bitcoin's context is that you are no longer dependent on the abusive banking system. You no longer suffer from the flaws and the fraud of fiat as far as your finances are concerned.

It isn't about getting rich. It is about emancipating yourself from traditional finance. It is about being free from the constant devaluation of fiat, from its mismanagement, from the need to trust them and being disappointed in the end.
I agree with you, when people listen to the term financial freedom they think of an affluent person which can afford to buy whatever they want without any problem.

And while that is without a doubt one of its definitions, when it comes to bitcoin this is not really what we mean, what we mean is that we are simply free to use our money as we want, after all it is common in many countries that if you go to your bank to get some of your money then you are asked all kind of questions about why that is the case, but why would anyone be subject to such an interrogatory when they just want to have access to their own money? Bitcoin allows you to have complete control over your coins, and if you want to keep them or spend them all that is your choice and no one will try to stop you from doing so, that is the financial freedom we want and we expect out of bitcoin.

Leverkusen has certainly improved after the introduction of Xabi Alonso as the coach. We can certainly say that in the results. They have not lost even one match in the last five. They have not even drawn anything in the last five. Right now they are potentially targeting the fourth position of the table. And the way the teams which are ahead of them currently performing, it is very possible for them in my opinion.
Previously Leverkusen always be struggle to gets the winnings results even at that time Leverkusen has stuck to relegation zone and after Xabi Alonso arrived he has makes rapid progress for this team and the result is currently Leverkusen can take part to compete for the european zone and Alonso even has successfully to bringing Leverkusen to advance to quarterfinal on europa league
So far since his debut match on October last year he has earn 12 winnings with this team in Bundesliga and i think this records hasn't stopped yet because possibly Leverkusen will gets another winnings however this is Alonso first experience to train big team because before train Leverkusen he was only being an the coach for Sociedad B and apparently he is not only good as a player because he showed his potential to be a talented coach with bringing Leverkusen to performing better

Leverkusen is currently playing well and I think that is going to be enough to build up the confidence for themselves to go and try to win. First of all, they will have to believe that they can go through this tough process of facing these teams and come out with a positive result. It is not going to happen if they don't believe it is going to happen.

Of course, they are not probably going to win every one of them. But they are performing really well and well enough to beat or draw against these big opponents. But it will still be a little surprised if they do not lose even one.
1119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 10, 2023, 01:12:46 PM
Such an incredible performance by Leverkusen since Xabi Alonso came to the team. Lastly they got a 3-1 win over Frankfurt and now they are the owner of the 6th position in the standings.
It must really be like a dream for the team now. Because before Xabi Alonso came they were struggling too much and we were watching them around the relegation zone. But now things have changed completely. Now they are seriously in the fight for European cups. I think they totally deserve to qualify for one with this effort level now. I hope to see them finishing in top 6 and being a successful run in the Europa League as well.
Theoretically, Bayer could even get into the top 4, although even if they get into the Europa League, it will be equal to a miracle, because all the beginning of the season they hung out in the basement of the standings and it seemed that there was no chance anymore. It seems that for Xabi Alonso this season could be the start of a really big coaching career.

The coaching career of Xabi Alonso is certainly going to get noticed by bigger clubs. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that he is already a coach. Feels like yesterday when I saw him playing for Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Time flies so fast.

KKR had no business winning that match.
It was an unexpected match from Kolkata Knight Riders. 28 runs were needed in the last over which no one ever imagined that KKR will win the match. However, it is not usual to collect such a big score from the Kolkata bowlers. Gujarat Titans' Vijay Shankar had a remarkable innings but Kolkata Knight Riders turned the equation around in a surprise win. However, despite winning today's match, many of their fans could not keep confidence in their bowling action.

How would people have confidence in the bowling of KKR? Of course, it is going to be hard to trust KKR with bowling because they have just conceded more than 200 in a T20 match. Now it is true that they were able to chase it down by a dramatic style in the last over.

But that doesn’t change the fact that before the 40th over that was bold in this match, KKR were absolutely out of the match. They should remember that these type of miracles are not going to happen very often. So they will have to perform as a team.
