1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 09, 2023, 07:06:17 PM
I talked about Darwin Nunez and his positioning, that was exactly what R. Firmino came on and perfected.
The moment I saw Firmino coming in, I knew we had a problem considering his very good goal scoring record against Arsenal. We were lucky and thanks to Ramsdale, we would have lost had he not made so many important saves in the game. Arsenal need to remain composed and focused now more than ever because the next couple of games that we have to play a very difficult games and their results are still very unpredictable. we cannot afford to lose another game else Manchester city take lead and would never make them again or have another better opportunity to win the title than this.

I would actually say that Arsenal did well to get one point from this match. After looking at the first half, I thought Arsenal had a genuine chance to win. And also, considering the fact that Liverpool has not been performing well, I thought Arsenal was set to win this match. But Liverpool came back strongly. And after watching the whole match, I had to say Liverpool was the better team in this match.

Anyway, let’s hope that Arsenal will not make some big mistakes like they did in the last season towards the end.

1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 09, 2023, 05:39:24 PM
I bet on Kolkata to win this match. But after the Gujarat team set a huge target of 205 runs, I was almost certain that Kolkata was going to lose this match. But to everyone's surprise, Kolkata won this match. It was an absolutely incredible win. At the end of 19 overs, Kolkata's total was only 176 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. No one could have guessed that Rinku would bat so violently in the last over. He hit 5 6 off 5 balls. He scored 48 runs off just 21 balls. Kolkata's comeback after the defeat in the first match is really commendable.
Great and congratulations for winning your bet. Kolkata really played well enough.  It is very rare to be given a target of 200 plus runs in a T20 match and to surpass that target.  Because to score 200+ runs in T20 matches, must have to keep good run rate in every over which is very difficult for every teams. In this match both the teams had a very good performance and it was a tough fight. Every match in the Indian Premier League is getting pretty good

KKR had no business winning that match. This was certainly a jaw-dropping performance from Rinku. Of course, this was a great win for them. But I want to point out something. In this match, KKR got away with bad bowling because they had a genuine match-winning inning from a player. But that is not going to probably happen every day. They will have to Perform better in bowling.

Also, in the batting, they did not do something great in my opinion. I am talking about the team effort. If they could do better, they wouldn’t have had to face the situation at all.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage in crime activity. on: April 09, 2023, 02:35:47 PM
So I want to hear your opinion: how to make bitcoin technology "safer" so we could fight a crime committed with crypto and help with bitcoin adoption without taking away the main features of bitcoin like decentralization and anonymity?

The issue of illegal use of Bitcoin is indeed a challenge that the cryptocurrency community faces, and it's essential to address it to ensure wider adoption and legitimacy of Bitcoin. One possible solution to this problem is using blockchain analytics tools that can help track illicit transactions and identify the individuals involved. The second possible solution could be developing decentralized exchanges with robust KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures in place. But his should be taken seriously.

Once you use the KYC process, it is never called decentralized, and we don't need to come up with any solution in this case. Why are people always afraid about bitcoin being used by criminals will make bitcoin bad or not good? Don't forget that before bitcoin was born, criminals used fiat money, gold... all other assets for their crimes. Why don't we find a solution to those things but blame bitcoin? If you want that to stop, you don't need to find a solution for bitcoin, instead, tell the government to find a way to kill the criminals because it's their responsibility.
1124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to spend your Bitcoin on: April 09, 2023, 01:49:34 PM
The time is not right for you to spend your bitcoin because it was intended to be an asset from the start. Imagine owning real estate and selling each block every time, it would lose its ability to function as an asset. It is optional to spend your bitcoin, but in my opinion since the price has not increased, it would be very unwise to do so. Instead, why not just hold onto it until the price increases, at which point you will make a profit. I see a lots of people  investing in bitcoin  already  spending like they say knowledge is power.

Satoshi created bitcoin with the purpose of turning it into a currency, a P2P payment method, not an asset for speculation. But somehow, bitcoin has become an investment to this day. I'm in favor of holding bitcoins over spending bitcoins these days because bitcoin's future upside potential is huge, but it doesn't matter if people spend their bitcoins too.

Everyone has different life goals, using bitcoin for daily expenses is also a way to help it become more popular. You hold for profit is right, but anyone using bitcoin for payments should be encouraged as well.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ARB a rising star ? on: April 08, 2023, 01:50:01 PM
Seems still not ended discussing about Arbitrum coins or ARB after success airdrop distribution for eligible participants have transaction history from swap, bridge and add liquidity there. Each participants reward minimum from 600 coins until above 5000 coins depend how most active and volume transaction ever swap or bridge there.

I am not lucky participants with less transaction or bridge there but seems have been over with Arbitrum or ARB coins hype, right now many airdrop participants eligible with ARB coins have sold out and there are not any good progress form this coins about up coming development, true or not after reward distribution price have bee drop and ARB difficult reach to higher price more.

Besides participating in the testnet program to receive tokens, have you tried researching about ARB? If you have ever spent time researching it, you will never say that ARB has no future, its growth potential is exhausted. It is no exaggeration to say that ARB is the most prominent L2 project, up to now, it will be difficult for any name to surpass it. The future is unpredictable, but it is highly anticipated that in the next bull season, its potential will be comparable to last season's Solana.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top AI Crypto coins that can possibly change your life on: April 08, 2023, 01:39:25 PM
Indeed, for now, the existence of AI hype that occurs in all fields can make them something good and can be used as an asset that deserves attention. But for their tokens actually I still feel this is only happening because of the hype even though now it's quite good but vigilance obviously has to be there because I still feel things like this will die down if the hype ends so in the end it won't last long. There have been many actual examples of hype like this, even though it's not wrong to be there, you have to pay more attention from all aspects.

Think of past trends in the market like NFT, Defi, and most recently, the metaverse, all of which were dumped and turned into junk, causing many investors to lose money on the market. If talking about AI projects of technology companies, I can't deny their benefits, but with projects in the crypto industry, I really can't believe what the projects are doing. Investing in altcoins is only for the short term, we should not waste time and money believing what they promise.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 07, 2023, 06:29:36 PM
The match is firmly within Bangladesh's grasp. The fighting knocks from Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker and Andy McBrine gave Ireland a decent total in the second innings and made sure that an innings defeat is avoided. But what was the point in staging this test match, when so many of their main players are unavailable? Josh Little is participating in the Indian Premier League, while Paul Stirling and Craig Young are also not available. Ireland would have been competitive with a full-strength squad, but this time they were there just to make up the numbers.
Even this all is not in frame of talk but still here we have few good things which can bring drastically changes in this format and game as well because we need this format for long time with T20i could be now main focus of this game we have 12 teams which are involved in test cricket and now Ireland after five years have only 4 matches and Afghanistan having 6 matches which are completely disastrous for the teams and game and during this time because we have around 10 to 12 matches for the big-4 in one year this strategy is never been helpful even this format is not profitable for few countries, but they need to bring changes for the improvement and having better results otherwise they need to give shut up call and having only 7 or 8 teams which can give them good profit and better results as well.

In this match we have good improvement in second inning but still this was not enough as Ireland missing their few top players due to injuries or IPL which is another factor for having not full strength teams.

I honestly have to say that Ireland actually posted a good fight for the Bangladesh team. Otherwise, this match was going to be over a long time ago. At one point it felt like Ireland was going to lose by an innings difference. Congratulations to them that they at least avoided that situation. And also congratulations to Bangladesh because they were able to actually win the test match despite having a really bad record in the test format.

A lot of people are talking about the captaincy of Shakib Al Hassan. I personally don’t think he is a good captain. But he is certainly the best that Bangladesh has right now.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 07, 2023, 05:32:33 PM
The Suns won tonight against the Nuggets and Durant had 29 points. That’s about the only good that came out of that game for them though. Chris Paul scored 25 which is a little high for him, but they were playing against a Nuggets squad that was basically resting their entire team. Not a good look that the Suns only managed to win the game by four points.
After all, it's just a good warm-up for KD and I'm pretty sure that he will perform well in the actual upcoming NBA playoffs. Eyes are on him because the fans are counting on him to be their key role to get back to the NBA finals again and hope to win the NBA championship with him. But as you said, The Nuggets are also a scary team now that they are complete and you can see that they are not choking this time because of their current record and that would be a hell of a test for the Western Conference team to knock them out as soon as possible.
Agree on the warm up because they are using the remaining game to test compatible of this Suns new roster as much as possible before the playoffs. The win of Suns is not that convincing because they are facing against the bench players of Nuggets with a close match. I just hope that they will become synchronised faster before they will kick out on the first round of playoffs because Clippers will gonna eat them alive if they will play like that.

The win was not convincing at all from the Phoenix Suns. Kevin Durant and Paul performed really well for the Phoenix Suns. But the other players did not provide too much importance in my opinion. That’s why the performance was not convincing in my opinion. Because the Suns are not going to be able to perform well in the playoffs if there is. Solo efforts are only going to get them so far. They will have to perform as a team instead of depending too much on certain players.
1129  Economy / Speculation / Re: MicroStrategy Buys Another 1,045 bitcoins for $29.3m on: April 06, 2023, 08:11:56 AM

How does it make you feel that the company that is not doing very in terms of operating profitability is further increasing its exposure to Bitcoin, and now sits at 140,000 bitcoins. I'm a little uncortable with a thought that if things go further south for them, they might be forced to dump it all on the market.

... I just don’t understand why they actually buy Few in the DIP or is this another DCA method that could work potentially.

I think they were like us, when bitcoin plummeted but they didn't have the money to invest. Despite being a large business, it is not always possible to have the money to invest in bitcoin, especially when the economic situation is crushing large corporations in the world. They hold a huge amount of bitcoin, and many people fear that they will dump it, but I would be very excited if they did. I don't know what the reason is, but as long as bitcoin is cheap, I think it's an opportunity to seize, not panic. Because no matter what they do, bitcoin will always bounce back.
1130  Economy / Speculation / Re: The US government sold 9800 bitcoin on March 14 on: April 06, 2023, 08:00:40 AM
if for example one day everything is sold out, will they make such a Dump in the crypto market? I do not think so. if I read from the news, actually America is also holding an auction of Bitcoins that they confiscated, so they don't sell everything directly and also in one sale, no.

So here also through the documents uploaded by the OP that actually on March 14th 2023 they (USA) have sold around $9,861 Bitcoin. So there's still some left, huh. The remaining $41,490 Bitcoin is planned from the Ross Ulbrict case in America, to divide it into 4 batches. The first ones went on sale on March 14, the next batch is still unknown, it is still kept secret by America itself.

But don't panic right away. When we saw this news, you were like Ouch, what if, for example, the $215k of Bitcoin confiscated by America continued to be sold, what about everything. from its history, America has never sold everything instantly, but sold it gradually and auctioned off like that, so as to sell someone who wants to buy it, so that it is immediately accommodated by someone else. There is potential for a price drop, but if we learn from history, it won't be a total dump right away, but again, there is potential if, for example, he wanted to crash the crypto market, he (the US) could sell everything immediately. But historically, it's not like that, he sold it in stages.

Even if they sell all bitcoins in 1 go and want to crash the market, we have nothing to fear, and with that amount of bitcoins, they can't make the market crash. The US or any government, they don't have the power to crash bitcoin because there will always be people waiting to buy bitcoin at the cheapest price. I even pray that they sell that bitcoin ASAP, I'm furious that bitcoin is in the hands of the government, who want to suppress the market and control bitcoin.
1131  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will hit $1 million for the first time? on: April 06, 2023, 07:50:38 AM
...

i have a dream for btc to reach $100k this year and that is most likely to be achieved if the market cycle goes well without any disturbances of fud or negative news hitting crypto. One more thing, I want to see a second country that will legalize btc as their currency after Elsavador recognized it legally.

BTC hitting $100k means there will be a bull season this year, I doubt it unless there is a surprise, and history won't repeat itself. The cryptocurrency market is always turbulence and negative news happens every day, even during the bull season, we will always see them. You can't expect such an impossibility, it's not realistic. Not to mention the highly volatile economic situation and the fact that the Fed hasn't stopped raising interest rates, so I'm pretty confident that won't happen this year and even next year. ATH usually occurs a year after the halving occurs.

Indeed, I heard that Messi wanted to go to Barcelona because of the family's request. But another factor is the pay cut from PSG and fans who are not friendly with Messi's current state. I heard Messi's salary will be cut by 25%, this is to remain eligible in FFP. But this is only a rumor. I myself find it strange if Messi comes back. They have started to come out of Messi's shadow with young players who continue to develop. Signing Messi may be an instant solution to the frontline problems but it has a bad impact for the long term.
I actually see it from a different side, Messi presence in the Barcelona squad will further improve the quality of Barcelona's game. Messi will take on a new role this time around, he will be shifted to the center to serve the attackers with his beautiful cross. He can also set the rhythm of the game well, the 4-3-3 formation can still be used with the current attacking scheme, Messi will fill in as an attacking midfielder.
Young players can learn directly from Messi, his presence in the squad can help their development. Dembele is one of the players who experienced rapid development when playing with Messi. Messi presence will not cause problems in Barcelona game, he is not the type of player who is hungry for individual titles. This time, his status as a teacher for other young players, his existence will really help Barcelona in the title race in the following season.

Why would Messi go to Barcelona? Except for the fact that the coach is Xavi right now, I don't see any other reason for him to go to Barcelona. At this age, he can easily go to MLS or the Saudi League to basically chill and get a big fat paycheck. Why would he need to go to Barcelona to prove something that he has already done?

I understand that young players will be able to learn from Messi. But there was a time when he really wanted to stay in Barcelona but the Barcelona authority basically did not let him stay. I would say he should go for the 400 million.

Anyone following the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off? United States of America has already qualified for the next phase (2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier), since they have 8 points from 5 matches. In all probability, United Arab Emirates will be the second team to qualify, as they have 6 points currently and have one match against Jersey remaining. Jersey has lost 3 out of their 4 matches so far, and is a foregone conclusion that UAE will win the match and qualify for the next phase with 8 points. Namibia will fail to qualify, after they only managed to win 3 out of 5 matches.
@Sithara007 so far it’s clear that USA should easily qualify, and Namibia will be praying that other results go their way otherwise they’ll fail to qualify and here I feel had they beaten UAE then they would be in a safer spot. Also at this stage I too expect UAE to win, but I hope that they don’t play in overconfidence and end up suffering an loss which could harm their chances of qualifying.

USA and UAE are most likely to qualify. I know that if other results go in favor of Namibia, they might have a chance. But that chance looks very slim right now. USA and UAE have good spots set up for them right now and there should not be throwing it away from this situation. UAE should understand that everyone they are facing in the playoff does have the ability to beat them, so UAE should in no circumstances be overconfident about their ability.

The reason behind this when a weaker team plays against a stronger team, there is less excitement among the spectators. Because they can predict in advance which team will win. Basically, a team has nothing to lose after winning a series. As a result many times they don't give much importance and the opposite team can win. This is not unusual. However, in the World Cup, every team tries their best to push their team forward to win. The winning and losing of a match plays a big role. So, if a small team wins against a big one, it definitely creates a stir among everyone of the cricket world.
I think the excitement has certainly become less. For me, it would be a lot more exciting if there are more teams competing regularly against each other. Even a tier system is going to be good for cricket in the long run.

The reason behind this when a weaker team plays against a stronger team, there is less excitement among the spectators. Because they can predict in advance which team will win.
But when we see that the opposite team which is less stronger as compare to the other team. And the less stronger team try its best and pull itself to the win so the match become excited. And who predict first they don't take interest in the match so than they watch the highlights of the match. I have seen many cases like this in my life by the way.
But the thing is that we can't underestimate any team. Because any team can come up at anytime. Smiley
Underestimating a small team is probably the worst thing any big team can do. We have seen these types of things happen. But I believe the smaller teams should be given a lot more matches regularly. Even if it is against other smaller teams. Because in the end, you cannot win without a good amount of experience.
1135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Predictions? on: April 04, 2023, 03:37:22 PM
And long term bitcoin investing is a very good option because as long as the bitcoin price hasn't hit a high they are not going to care about the current price, and bulls are bound to come after dips and all that only time will tell.

Indeed, short-term bitcoin price predictions are just an investment pleasure, and I have never expected too much from short-term predictions. If someone is really serious and wants to make big profits, long-term investing is our only solution. Remember, the people who got rich on bitcoin are the early investors, the long-term holders, and very few investors get rich by short-term investing or trading. Let's zoom out bitcoin chart, it's always bullish when we look long term.
1136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Possibilities and chances ! on: April 04, 2023, 03:18:05 PM
It's a good thing to always considers the world economical situation before engaging on any further analysis of predicting how the future may be, but in this regard, it's not much applicable to bitcoin network because it has it own separate economy other than fiat, which is a decentralized network of blockchain, bitcoin price is not moved by other economical factors or assets because it's independent of any other asset, demand and supply is the determinant of bitcoin price among other few considerations or factors.

I disagree, although bitcoin is decentralized, but it is also an asset and also a part of the economy, it cannot avoid negative as well as positive effects. If it is truly independent of all including fiat, then we should not use fiat to measure its value. And don't tell me you forgot that every time the Fed raises interest rates, bitcoin is very volatile, and the entire financial market fluctuates whenever there is some big news in the world. Not to mention, cryptocurrency is a market that is more susceptible to manipulation than a market based on supply and demand.

But given the current economic situation and the recent movements of bitcoin, it is hard to say that it is having a negative impact on Bitcoin.
1137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider Bitcoin the best asset in the world? on: April 04, 2023, 03:05:00 PM
Do you all consider Bitcoin the best asset in the world or do you think there are other assets with as much potential for safe long term appreciation?

By best asset I mean potential for long term return on investment versus potential for risk. Return vs risk.

Bitcoin investment is really profitable and one of the best assets to acquire but if we think about the assurance, real estate investment is still the best option to choose. Practically speaking, I do agree with the potentiality of Bitcoin to exist long-term but the risk is too high than just acquiring real estate and even in the stock market. If we notice, many rich people have no interest in buying and holding crypto, and probably the reason is that it gives us no assurance, unlike if we are investing in the stock market and real estate, and even investing in gold as well is another option, yet the returns aren't fast unlike in crypto.

We are on a bitcoin forum, and we are all invested in bitcoin, so there will be bitcoin bias here. But to be fair, real estate and tangible assets are a better choice than bitcoin. You are right, most of the rich are still not too interested in bitcoin, what they are most interested in is still real estate, stocks, and gold. Meanwhile, cryptocurrencies are receiving great interest from small capital investors like us who want to get rich with small investments. But that also becomes the advantage of crypto, as it is fair and gives opportunity to everyone.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 03, 2023, 08:02:08 PM
Yes, of course there are two different formats and there is no way to consider in the same way. However, when a weak team loses repeatedly, the opponent often keeps their good players and they try to play with comparatively weak squad. Where a weak team may win. If there is a series of 3 matches where two win and one defeat is very simple but not all teams will play with the same manner. But everything depends on the team players. It is not impossible for the smaller team to lose with the big because of any uncertainty in cricket.

But the series between South Africa and the Netherlands was a 2 match series. So of course South Africa is not going to take things easy on the Netherlands. And I believe that's what happened. South Africa was able to win both of the matches without too many complications. And South Africa ensured that they won both of the matches and the series quite convincingly. I believe that weaker teams actually have better chances in big ICC tournaments to make a name for themselves.

Honestly, it does not matter too much if they win one match against a big opponent but eventually lose the series. But in big tournaments, let's say in the world cup they beat a big opponent, it is going to make a lot of noise.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 03, 2023, 06:54:22 PM
The only thing that surprised me in this game was the score, the very fact of defeat does not mean anything - Napoli have long secured the title of Serie A, so betting on them should be treated with caution and it is better to avoid.
For me, a much more shocking result on the tour was the defeat of Inter - now they are out of the top 4. There are 10 games ahead, but with Inter pretty strong competitors + Juventus rising from the depths, it's highly likely that they won't make it to the Champions League next year.
The result of he game was unexpected, nobody saw it coming, AC Milan winning Napoli 0-4, what I can say is Napoli where really poor today, and they still have to play twice in the champions League fixtures and with this winning I know AC Milan most be very confident in going into the champions League toe to toe with Napoli, like if they can win Napoli 4 goals to nothing then they can do it again. And right now I know Napoli will know that they have to be more prepared now because AC Milan can surprise them again.

The last match of Napoli was actually surprising. Because they had possession of the ball. But they were unable to actually make anything out of that. But on the other hand, Milan did not have that much control over the ball. But they actually were able to capitalize whenever they had the ball. And to be honest, Napoli also lost the ball in some crucial positions on the field. That has also enabled Milan to actually do well in the counterattack. Of course, Napoli is going to win the league title. But I believe they should not still take it for granted yet.
1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 03, 2023, 06:09:19 PM
We can't have a comparison of Netherlands against South Africa, and I find the batting line-up to be good with Netherlands. The scoring itself shows, almost every player have scored little runs. The team lacks experience and the same had resulted in restricting South Africa within specific runs. Most of the players are very young, few were in their teen age and can expect them to be playing better cricket in the future. These teams should have matches often to keep up the form, if not the continuity gets missed.
You are missing one key point here that the same Netherlands team was able to beat South Africa in latest T20 World Cup and that defeat was the reason South Africa couldn't make it so semis. The recent two matches between South Afrcia and Netherlands were very much important for South Africa as fate of South Africa in playing ODI world cup directly lies on these two matches. South Africa won both matches and now have also qualified for ODI worldcup.

I think the point that we are actually missing is that T20 and one day internationals are not in the same format. There is a big difference between these two. These smaller teams are generally good while playing T20. But they are not very good while playing the ODI.

So I don't think we can compare the Netherlands team's performance in the T20 with ODI. No way the Netherlands are going to be able to beat South Africa in the ODI. At least South Africa is not going to lose the series against the Netherlands in the ODI format.
