1501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were the government, how would you fight against bitcoin? on: November 28, 2022, 03:12:29 AM
I think there is no way to completely stop bitcoin. Look at what China has done with bitcoin, they have banned all things bitcoin related like mining, trading or holding all over their territory but as far as I know there is still a large part of Chinese people still using bitcoin. There are ways we can deal with those bans today. There is only one way that can stop bitcoin and that is to destroy the entire internet but of course that will never be possible.
1502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Excessive greed is detrimental to investment on: November 28, 2022, 02:20:58 AM
No problem your investment can comeback anytime. The key is if you must be patience waiting for another bullish trend. My portfolios were also decreasing so hard like you but im not even feeling worry as i never lose my money but i just my unrealized profit.
The key must be the bullish sentiment that can bring back your money again. I do know how you do feel once you bought them at the top of price and then your portfolios were decreasing so hard like roller coaster.
I think that what you can do just be patience and waiting for some luck to come very soon.

I don't think so, if your portfolio and OP's are bitcoins then I would say what you say is true because bitcoin will always bounce back after the end of a bear cycle. But if it's an altcoin and like the OP, I doubt it would be a real losing investment, because altcoins' resilience is slim. The 3 altcoins that OP holds are just low cap coins and just a temporary trend in the market, if that trend can't return to the market don't expect your asset to recover.
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge can it go 1$ on: November 28, 2022, 02:07:55 AM
The ath reached by doge is close to $0.74 which is almost near to $1. With the occurrence of Twitter there is big expectation over the price of dogecoin. We don't know how far this will go in real-time, but Elon Musk being a cryptocurrency influencer have got the ability to drive the price.

The market being bearish, and a positive drive of dogecoin can be easily identified as manipulation. To experience the regular growth we need to have the patience for the market transition. Maybe during the next bullish move along with the support of Elon Musk this could happen.

Elon doesn't have any influence on the market, he can only manipulate Doge, that's the only thing he can do so far. Although doge is just a memecoin without any utility or use case, luck came to it when it was chosen by Elon. I also believe Doge can hit $1 but not now, Elon will push it in the next bull season. Everyone investing in Doge needs to wait and don't rush, investing in doge is like playing a game of wits with Elon, you need to be patient.
1504  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: November 27, 2022, 10:43:49 PM
I will never again trust any exchange that is centralized, what I do is make serious transactions using binance and that xcahnge gives me a bad feeling, if I happen that to the famous exchange FTX that I stole from half the world, I don't want to lose money in an exchange that is bigger than that to then be looking for the way to get my money back and if the founders of those exchanges leave they will not respond to anyone, it is safer to put our money in a cold wallet , that they only manipulate our data, the exchanges of now are the most dangerous than the banks, I do not trust any bank now I am not going to trust an excahnge.

No one tells you to trust exchanges, you can still use them for your everyday purposes like buying, selling, exchanging...but always withdraw it all to your cold wallet when you're done, you'll be safe. Honestly, I don't think we will give up on centralized exchanges nor banks because they provide us with necessary services that are not available anywhere else. I will still use exchanges but of course will always be wary of them and never leave money when there is no need to use it.
1505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FTX drama stressing people for no reason | How to stay neutral on: November 27, 2022, 10:31:53 PM
I don't keep money on the exchanges because there's no need to do that if you aren't a trader  (choosing a non-custodial wallet isn't that hard), but I understand why people would do that. We live in the world full of authorities, and people are used by now to storing money in their bank accounts, where the money isn't really theirs but is managed in hopefully a good way by the company. So it's natural to look for something like a crypto bank, a reputable company, and rely on them. If you have troubles with your exchange account, you can contact support, restore access to your account (if you lost it). If it's a non-custodial wallet, it's your sole responsibility to keep your money safe, but also ensure you don't lock yourself out of the wallet. So why not relieve oneself from responsibility and then blame someone else if things go wrong?

If what you say is true then people are making a big mistake. Centralized exchanges and banks are completely different, the only similarity is that they are both centralized but the bank is sponsored by the government and you can have more peace of mind when depositing money in the bank. For centralized exchanges that is not the case, they are not directly regulated by the government, they are just private companies that don't even have a business license. So exchanges cannot be considered like banks.
You are not a trader so it is understandable not to use an exchange, but for a trader it is impossible not to use an exchange.
1506  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX issue might be for the greater good on: November 27, 2022, 10:15:19 PM

Even so, people still trust Binance and its central coins (BNB AND BUSD)

I think we are all aware of the risks of using centralized exchanges but there may be no other choice. In case you are a day trader and your profits mainly come from trading, how will you make a profit if you don't use a centralized exchange while DEXs still can't provide these features fully?
Currently, it is not possible to completely stop using centralized exchanges but we hope that in the future DEX can offer better solutions and investors will have more solutions to choose from.
1507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 27, 2022, 09:22:34 PM
The job Newcastle have done so far is really extraordinary for the team. I bet that the board or even the players weren't expecting themselves to be this much successful this season. Because they are in a really tough competition with the teams that have much stronger squads than Newcastle. It is of course an advantage for Newcastle that many other big teams are having inconsistent days in the league. But we must definitely appreciate the work Newcastle are doing in the meantime.
Maybe they don't have a very impressive squad at the moment due to not having much success in the Premier League for a long time. But even with the latest transfers they are able to win some big matches as well. If they keep up this performance until the end of the season their chance to bring top players will rise a lot. Joining the Champions League would play a key role in this of course.
In last season when Newcastle United bought by new management there was announcement that owners wants this club as we already have Manchester City and PSG but no one was expecting performance like this from them because right now they are at the 3rd rank.
And they are doing amazing job in last few matches with five wins and concede only two goals which is also best from them for the team Howe is surely good coach as his previous record with old club Bournemouth is also impressive so right now with available resources he is achieving new highest of his career and if they are able to stay into this rank until end of this season surely this could be one of the best for this team and players because no one was expecting results like these and spot like this for them in current season.

It is actually a little surprising performance from Newcastle United. But I think this was bound to happen. With a huge amount of money, you can obviously get great players. And Newcastle United certainly has a huge amount of money right now. And now they are an improved team. All that money is bringing in the results that they expected.

Honestly, it’s not like they have got just lucky and hold for the third position. I think they actually deserved it. The way they have played this season, even though they have played one match more I think they will be able to continue performing well like this after the break.
1508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 27, 2022, 08:38:42 PM

I also thought that Sri Lanka will win today's match and tie the series. But the match is getting delayed due to rain. Sri Lanka collected 10 runs without losing any wicket in 2.4 overs. There is no guarantee when the match will resume. Sri Lanka were defeated in the last match due to the stupidity of their batsmen. Sri Lanka would have won the last match if the batsmen could have batted responsibly. The target is not big in today's match. If the Sri Lankan batsmen bat responsibly and stay at the crease then Sri Lanka will win this match.
It should be an easy match for Sri Lanka to win and level the series if the rain would stay away for a few hours but unfortunately the report is not great as it is raining heavily and it is possible that the match would be abandoned just like the New Zealand India ODI. If they abandoned the match then Afghanistan will level the series or most probably win the series as there is only one match left in this series and it will be an historic win for them  Grin.

No, this is the problem for Sri Lanka, because if this match is washed out because of rain, Sri Lanka will have no chance to win the series. And I don’t want this to happen but just imagine that hard match getting washed out as well. Sri Lanka is gonna be pissed. But I believe that if in anyway this match is played Sri Lanka is going to be the winner. Because the target is not big at all. Sri Lanka should be able to easily chase down the target.

So simply, Afghanistan is currently hoping that it keeps raining and Sri Lanka is praying that the rain stops
1509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 27, 2022, 07:53:35 PM
Japan vs Costa Rica match day.Japan is more strong team than Costa Rica. Even Japan won against Germany this world cup match. Japan 1.5, Costa Rica 7.4 odds high odds on Costa Rica.what do you think, can Costa Rica win the match against Japan?Costa Rica also good team in this Qatar World Cup in 2022.
After a remarkable win against Germany in the previous match, Japan lost against Costa Rica today. After enjoying the match against Germany, it was thought that Spain and Japan would qualify for the next round from Group A. Even with a draw, Japan would have qualified for the next round. Today the players of Japan played quite well. But Costa Rica's defense surprised everyone today. Costa Rica played completely defensively. They made very few attacks. Even then, Costa Rica was able to win the match by scoring in the 81st minute of the match by taking advantage of the weakness of Japan's defense. I would say Costa Rica was very lucky today.

I really did not expect this type of performance from Costa Rica. And at the same time, I did not expect a loss for Japan as well. Especially after they have won against Germany. I have to say a good job by the defense of Costa Rica. I think Japan was getting a little impatient to win this match. And that’s why eventually they left some gaps in the defense. Costa Rica did well to exploit those gaps. Statistically, Japan had a better performance in this match. But statistics don’t mean anything if you cannot win.

Spain vs Germany match is ongoing, it is halftime break now. I think it is going to be a very interesting match after the break. I think Germany should win against Spain. Current result is 0-0.
1510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: November 27, 2022, 07:38:05 PM

Benzema's left hip injury is still going on but it looks like he will be returning in only two weeks. This is really good news for Real Madrid while he is a big loss for France in the World Cup at the moment. Benzema will at least have enough time to reach a solid match condition until the La Liga matches are back. Real Madrid felt his absence in some matches that they lost points against weaker teams. They were still able to score goals of course but maybe he could have been a savior there.
Then this must mean that Real Madrid won't be in search of a striker in January yet. Because there have been speculations such as they would like to fill his place while he is injured. Even Ronaldo was at the centre of these speculations like Real Madrid would offer a deal worth six months.

Even if Benzema returns and continues to perform very effectively for Real Madrid I think Real Madrid should start looking for a striker from now on. I think that if they don't begin searching for a striker as soon as possible, they may actually find that it has already been too late. As a matter of fact, it would be far better for Real Madrid if they could bring in a striker and keep developing him while Karim Benzema is still playing for them. If anything, the worst case scenario will be that the player that they've been working with will probably not be able to play as well as they would like. But they will not have to look for a striker immediately when/if Benzema gets injured again.
1511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 27, 2022, 07:15:52 PM
Alperen Şengün's performance in Houston is mesmerizing. He had a nearly triple-double with 21 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists, setting a career high rebound record. Together with Jalen Green, they led their team to victory. Houston has a promising roster, I can't understand why they're last in the West. The starting five in particular are not bad at all, but the bench rotation seems a bit lacking. They may be aiming to play in the lottery this season and get a good draft order. They also need to give good signals for next season. If Alperen or the other top 5 players are traded, we can talk about different things. They have a very young team apart from Eric Gordon. Maybe if there are 2 more veterans, the atmosphere of the team will change, it will become more balanced. There's a college team vibe right now. Good players, but lacking in experience.

Alperen Şengün was really good in the last match. One of the most impressive performances I have ever seen from him.
Before this game, his performance was not that remarkable, to be honest. He was good, but not mesmerizing. And the good thing is, he had help from his teammates as well. This team can play very well when it just clicks for them. This team has a lot of potential, but I agree with you that this team is quite inexperienced. With a little more experience, they will be able to achieve good things. I am really interested to see what they will be able to do in the next season. We will be able to understand what promises are worth then.

In the past, Manchester United were also interested in signing De Jong. However, as of right now, I am unsure if it would be a worthwhile idea for Manchester United to go after this player. As of right now, Manchester United are in need of a striker. It is my opinion that they should look for a striker first before moving on to other players. Once a striker has been confirmed, they will have the option to look for a midfielder.
As far as I know, they are also in need of a midfielder at the moment. However, probably not as much as a striker would. Franki de Jong is still being considered as a possible acquisition by the team, which I think is great.
Just don't focus on one particular midfield. A lot has changed since the World Cup, and things may improve dramatically after that. As far as I know, Man United does not mind being considered as a potential acquisition for Franki de Jong. With Ronaldo gone and their current condition, they have limited options up front, and for them to compete comfortably, they will need a top striker and top defensive midfielder. If they don't strengthen the team in January, they might not be in the top 4 either.
It will be a problem for Manchester United to bring in players in both positions at the same time. I believe that Frankie de Jong is a very talented defensive midfielder. However, if they were to bring him into the team right now, would they have the financial ability to sign a top-notch striker at this time?

And if they are thinking about bringing in a mediocre striker I think it is better to not bring a striker at all. Because bringing in a mediocre striker is not going to be enough for Manchester United right now. If they actually want to stay in the top 4 they will need a really effective striker who can score at any moment.

I agree with them lacking a striker but I don't think they need to go after De Jong anymore. They have Eriksen, Fernandes and Casemiro who are putting up good performance in the mid. Apart from that they have Fred and McTominay also who can play in as a defensive mid from the bench. There isn't space for another mid player who usually wants to be in first team picture.
I also agree. Especially after signing Casemiro, I don't know if it is going to be a smart idea for them to add another midfielder. They should spend the most amount of money trying to find a striker who can score a good amount of goals for them. If they want to bring de Jong along with a striker they will end up getting a striker who is probably not so proficient, which will defeat the purpose of bringing a striker in the first place.

What do you guys think about fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz for vacant belt title fight?
Early odds are suggesting Ankalaev is a big favorite and I think he can beat Blachowicz in less than five rounds.
There is almost no value in betting on Ankalaev but I don't believe Blachowicz can beat this guy now.

Ankalaev is a better fighter in my opinion. At least in this fight compared to Błachowicz. We can also see the records. Ankalaev has only one loss in his career compared to the 9 losses of Błachowicz. Of course, we can say that Błachowicz has a better experience. But I honestly think that in fighting, especially while fighting under certain rules, experienced matters are very less.
The odds also look at it to me, I can see on stake odds are 3.10 for Blachowicz, 1.37 for Ankalaev. I think Ankalaev is going to win this fight.

And it seems that it is not Memphis Depay who is being seriously targeted by Manchester United, until now there has been no clarity from the management regarding their interest in bringing Memphis Depay back to Old Trafford and I am also not sure the player wants to rejoin

On the other hand, Manchester United is still quite interested in Barcelona player Frenkie de Jong, following relatively little playing time at Barcelona, even though the player is not a striker. Manchester United desperately need a midfielder and an attacker to compete in the Premier League and Europa, as the players they have in those positions are not very consistent and following injury concerns for Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford. However, because there is no certainty from management, I think there will be many possibilities that will occur in the transfer market next winter.

In the past, Manchester United were also interested in signing De Jong. However, as of right now, I am unsure if it would be a worthwhile idea for Manchester United to go after this player. As of right now, Manchester United are in need of a striker. It is my opinion that they should look for a striker first before moving on to other players. 1515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Good the bad and the ugly side of airdrops on: November 26, 2022, 09:02:26 AM
Recently airdrops have taken a different dimension where participants need to do more than just follow, like, retweet, and share to become eligible.
If you need an airdrop with future value, you will have to get more involved in the projects day to day activities, interact with their network or something to be eligible.
From what i observed, any potential airdrop projects these days now engage participants more, like engaging in their testnet process or do other tasks that involves interacting with the project which IMO opinion is way better than the usual  follow and get worthless airdrop.

What you said is true, the airdrop has changed to a new model. Where the participants will need to take the quests more seriously, the quests start getting harder and not everyone is patient enough to complete the quests to get the rewards. The tasks from the testnet process force us to do it every day and always interact with the developers if we want to get a reward and of course, the reward is very valuable unlike spam airdrops. Many people still don't know about the change of airdrop and they think they are still useless.
1516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stablecoins safe? on: November 26, 2022, 08:53:25 AM
Just look at Luna(UST) then I reckon you'd get your answer. It may be a single instance, but it's still an instance nonetheless to take into account. I'd honestly just avoid holding any stablecoins for a long period of time if possible, I've only ever used stablecoins when paying/moving stuff, the rest of what is in my wallet is always invested in some crypto for the long term.

Here's an old post by mk4 about stablecoins
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5204055.0

UST is an algorithmically stable coin backed by bitcoin and many altcoins, so when the market fluctuates, it is bound to crash, UST was warned a lot before it collapsed. UST is not like the rest, but after all, stablecoins are centralized so there is no guarantee for us, they can be frozen by the issuer at any time. But from my point of view, investing in crypto is always risky, holding altcoins will not be safe for you as altcoins like Luna or FTT are not much better than stablecoins.
1517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will next hot topic for alt seasons 2025 on: November 26, 2022, 08:42:51 AM
As per my experience, On 2018 Smart contract bubble came to altcoins , so all related to smart contract Alts became giants at that time. 2021 hot topic were Gaming,NFT ,Defi
. I think for 2024/2025 hot topics will be " Web3.0 , AI, and Machine learning ". what is your thoughts?

All will be prediction until it happens, I will predict for web3 and metaverse, also maybe playtoearn trend. Even though during the last bear season P2E projects died out in droves, I still see some serious projects still active and growing and there are still many P2E projects under development that have also attracted the attention of large investment funds such as coinbase ventures or binance labs. P2E will most likely survive and return with many significant improvements, gaming is an extremely attractive field, and it is a pity if we ignore this field.
1518  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Reset Binance 2FA Authentication still under review? on: November 25, 2022, 02:56:37 PM
I tried but it seems it's not live but a Bot automatically suggests me to a few guides.

I don't know if there are differences in accessing Binance .com and use chats support there through PC but I currently using the Phone and their app to access or to chat their support but no live support it looks like a Bot auto-suggest me some solutions.

Have you tried emailing them using the same email you registered on Binance? I just tried running the app on my phone and I can't find online support, but when I use the app running on my phone, I see online support. I think you try using another computer to access binance and have them handle it. I've also reset 2FA before, but I've never had a case that lasted more than 48 hours as you mentioned, maybe it's just a partial system error. Online support can easily help you.
1519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching my nephew about Bitcoin on: November 25, 2022, 02:36:25 PM
It wasn't a debate OP if it is right or wrong to teach a kid like 11 years old because as long as he is able to understand it and has an interest in learning this, that is really a good chance. In fact, it is all about learning the basic things about Bitcoin, it is all about spreading the right information so he can make use of it to correct someone who does and spread wrong information. Might we be doubtful about the result because of his young age but I see this is even better to start from an empty mind than those who have already negativity inside as they will able to learn fast and absorb the information.
And the fact is, children like OP's nephew need basic subjects such as math, physics, biology, social skills, practice to solve problems, and play something. If we talk about the evolution of technology (not only Blockchain and Bitcoin) all that basic is needed.

Help kids find their talents, not decide what their talents are.

If OP teaches him about technology it should be encouraged as technology is definitely what we need in any environment, technology is no different than water in our daily life, we would not be able to live without technology. But OP is teaching him about bitcoin, being part of finance, is a risky investment. I don't think such a kid can understand bitcoin. Even investors like us don't fully understand what bitcoin is, we are here simply for profit and our job is to see bitcoin chart every day. Bitcoin and crypto have not been applied much in life, and not everyone needs them. That is true.

I was imagine when he find this forum that look unique because Satoshi was create this forum like he create bitcoin,
and after he look unique and look philanthropy then he want to buy this forum,
And who told you that Elon Musk does not know anything about the forum, or that he did not think of buying it? Hahahahaha  Cheesy
I wouldn't be surprised if we found out one day that he has an account here. The man is considered one of the early adopters of crypto, and it is certain that he visited or is visiting the forum to follow the updates at least.
Bitcointalk Forum is not a commodity for sale, and those managing it still maintain the decentralized philosophy that Satoshi (the creator of the forum) sought to establish since its inception.

What updates does he follow here?, the forum is just a small space for small investors like us to come here to exchange, share news and knowledge with each other. There's nothing he needs here. What is the reason he needs twitter?, he needs it for his business and the forum doesn't provide that feature for him.
Twitter is like other social networks, it brings together millions of people around the world with different needs but the forum is just a place to talk about cryptocurrencies and gambling, I don't think he is a gambler Cheesy Cheesy. Just because he is an early adopter of cryptocurrencies like us doesn't mean he likes to discuss like we do, he has a lot of money and wants to invest just spend it.
