1901  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BPIP.org Chrome & FireFox Extension on: January 24, 2020, 11:49:48 AM
I sent all my sMerit to him, hope I'm not the only one.
I sent some yesterday and sent a little more today. I'm not a merit source so I tend to be conservative with my smerit, but Initscri stepped up to the plate when BPIP needed it, so he deserves it. Thanks Initscri.  Smiley

Is there any announcement about the new extension?
No announcement yet, it is in anticipation of the new extension, which suchmoon has done an awesome job with. Just needs a bit more testing before it is launched.

Some people really deserve to rank up.. I'm  not a merit source either yet but hopeful sometime soon.
That's also a great news. If you need more testers for it, trow me a PM (if it's Firefox based )
1902  Other / Meta / [Suggestion] Add more links to the MORE menu. on: January 24, 2020, 10:02:28 AM
The MORE menu can make life easier for most users if you add a few links that you now need to remember where to click to find them. I have a few suggestion to be included there.
  • The IP Log. - most of the users have no idea that this log exist
  • Link to the Rules - as they are so strictly ruled they have to be easy accessible
  • Custom link to your staked address, a link which you can add yourself when you stake an address*
  • Link to the Merit stats
  • The Welcome message

*this info can be visible to the mods (and public maybe) for faster account recovery and proof of ownership of the account. There can be also an option for one time lock activated by the user, so nobody can change it anymore.

I'm sure there are more useful links to be included. It's up to theymos to decide.
1903  Economy / Services / Re: TMAN's Services Bitches.. You want to be seen? TMAN is keen. on: January 24, 2020, 09:06:29 AM
This is one hell of a service! Now I know if I need a BEST MEN Service (again) whom shall I call, well I'm not sure if we will be allowed to step into the church but anyway, who cares about religion.
This service for sure deserves more exposure and a bump!
1904  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: January 24, 2020, 08:06:20 AM
~

If you want to sign a message, get an actual desktop or mobile wallet that actually supports signing messages like Bitcoin Core, Electrum, Mycelium etc.

Note that not all desktop/mobile wallets actually provide the ability to sign messages, the three listed above do. I would recommend Electrum for the desktop and Mycelium for mobile (Android only)

In addition to the above, you can actually create a new wallet/seed only for signing messages. You don't need to use the wallet for other things or have funds in it, if you are used to another wallet. Just keep the pr key/seed somewhere save so you can recover it in case something happens to the phone/computer.
1905  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BPIP.org Chrome & FireFox Extension on: January 24, 2020, 08:01:39 AM
Suchmoon has asked me to remove this listing from the Play Store, in anticipation of his new extension.

Everyone who has found the extension useful and bug free should send some merit love to Initscri.  He did a great job for free.  Smiley

I sent all my sMerit to him, hope I'm not the only one. I used the extension for a while, and I was very happy with it. Thank you for the great work Initscri.
Is there any announcement about the new extension?

Now 4 times I have tried this--can someone help me??

What wallet you are using to sign a message?
1907  Other / Meta / Re: 6000+ posts and 0 merit...and the winner 🥇 is... on: January 23, 2020, 02:21:17 PM
But why do you have to make fun of him--he makes so many posts for this forum??

People take this place as a full time job spamming shaddy projects that have no future just to earn some dust. And some people are really serious about it 6000 posts for two years-this is almost 10 posts per day every day, think about it. There he got one meirt for his spamming effort.

We are trying to reduce the spam, it's not beneficial for the forum at all.
1908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evolution of the Bitcoin Logo on: January 23, 2020, 02:15:15 PM
The bitcoin logo is the same as the Thai Baht symbol. And the bitcoin symbol as listed on the Bitcoin page of Wikipedia is ₿. This also happens to be the same symbol as the russian ruble.

Was the choice of bitcoin symbol related to any of these I wonder?
Isn't this the ruble symbol (₽)? It is quite different from the Bitcoin one. BTC
Please give some source to read if im wrong here because sounds very interesting.
1909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: scam spam on: January 23, 2020, 01:38:29 PM
I don't use my main email address to anything realted to bitcoin. I'll see if something pops up. My other mails are full of spam so I don't really check them.
Another thing to be aware of.
Even if you try to login using SSH it will reveail you IP not to say what other damage could make.
Then you can be a targed for furhter attacs.
1910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 23, 2020, 01:12:31 PM
I was involved with bitcoin long before I found the forum (2013)and registers account.
How I found it, thanks to Google. I don't remember what I was looking for that time but ended up here.
I spend some time on the forum before I registered. I didn't thought that It will change my life so much. Before I had some free time to read books, play games and dig into conspiracy theories, now I'm just addicted to the forum.
1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evolution of the Bitcoin Logo on: January 23, 2020, 12:49:11 PM
The change of bitcoin logo won't change anything in a good direction. Keep it like satoshi choose it to be and that's enough.
It's clean, nice, and simple and it's known that the simple things are the best ones.
There are so many fake projects around bitcoin that a new logo can only hurt than push forward.People will loose confidence that this is the real bitcoin.
1912  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🔥 Vile Chipmixer Bounty Abuse 🔥 Probably the Biggest Con Job on Bitcointalk on: January 23, 2020, 12:11:53 PM
Hold on, the candidates are chosen by personal qualities. What it has to do with the Turkish community? DarkStar just recently announced that he will focus more on the Local boards, and since then only 2 candidates were elected and there are 2 more open slots to be filled. Hold your horses and wait until it's you know the final results.
In addition DS_ announce that there will be more slots open next weeks.
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Coin Design Help on: January 23, 2020, 09:21:10 AM
Sorry for being the one to ruin the fun, but why you guys discuss alt coin logo in the Bitcoin section? There is a separate section with enough exposure you can ask non-bitcoin related questions there. Here is a link. You can save the mods some time and work and just move it there. If you have already got you idea, just lock the thread.
1914  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk on: January 23, 2020, 09:06:09 AM
I had a different idea from the beginning.
maybe the OP did not mean "bayan" as username but it was a typo/autocorrection for "bann".

So I would have understood the first post as follows:
Code:
how to reactivate my account?
my old account was banned.

of course it would help to understand the original question 100% and then look for a solution Smiley

I'm pretty sure you are correct. If you see the bayan's 2 posts, the English is quite OK. Compare then to the OP's post I thing he really meant ban then bayan.
After the YOSHIE research, I don't really thing the OP should be bothering the mods. Maybe only for ban evading. Smiley
1915  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers for more than a year. on: January 23, 2020, 08:03:15 AM
Hi guys, here comes my first post on this thread.

This is about user no. 2744259 (Gwen stacy). Newbie account, 6 posts and 4 threads already. All threads contain links and a line or two of useless commentary. Out of 6 posts, 6 contain links and a few ideas to hide the spam.

This is most likely an user spamming links & being paid for advertising them, the same way cheezcarls does.

Have you reported him and if you did were the reports handled and good? It's a bit difficult sometimes with accounts like this one to get them banned or get the posts deleted. It's depending of which of the mods is taking care of the reports and what is his opinion on this one. For me the guy is on the border and I can't 100% say that he is that bad to be banned.

Let's give him some more time and see if he will change. Most of the newbies (real newbies not alts) are quite confused when they come here, they see what others are doing (newbies which often are after the merit or just bounty hunters like this one )  and are getting a bad example.
1916  Other / Meta / Re: I sincerely apologize to everyone on: January 22, 2020, 10:48:41 PM
Everyone make mistakes (except LoyceV, but we all know that he is AI so he has excuse), but what i've seen here is a very strictly following of the unofficial rules and many people lost their accounts. Some OK poster were banned for plagiarism, other for maybe small mistakes but that is how you can control a 2M+ community.
I'm glad that you are willing to change, and you got that chance too but keep in mind that what you said are only words and we gonna watch you closely.
1917  Other / Meta / Re: 6000+ posts and 0 merit...and the winner 🥇 is... on: January 22, 2020, 11:24:06 AM
According to his public address wich I found in his profile he has >
0.44 ETH worth like 74$ and bunch of tokens which sum up to little bit over 1000$.
If he used that time to learn a bit and post some meaningful posts here, could have made much more than this for 2 years but...
there are probably more addresses but..

1918  Other / Meta / Re: When will BCT change? on: January 22, 2020, 10:45:46 AM
Children....play nice and turn this website around for god's sake.
there are no children in this Forum, 80% of the members here have thick beards.
~

Hahhaha, there are some babies with beards too, but I want a list of all members with beards, please?
Guess who this guy is.. without his beard...

Back to the OP..

We are the forum, We are the community. If we don't make a change, nobody will make it for us. So stop moaning and start reporting those who pollute the community.
1919  Other / Meta / Re: 6000+ posts and 0 merit...and the winner 🥇 is... on: January 21, 2020, 11:51:11 PM
I wanted to troll you a little bit by meriting one of their posts but I couldn't find anything meritworthy in the last 10 pages of their post history. Looks like nearly all 6000 posts are bounty reports except for a few meaningless fillers at the beginning in February 2018.

Extraordinary shitposting.

Haha, i was thinking of giving him a reward for being the the Top Shitposter but Eddie already did the job. Well i guess sooner or later i will find another nominee for the reward. Wink
It was really extraordinary Smiley

I'm pretty sure he will be shocked tomorrow when he finds out that he got a merit out of the blue...
1920  Other / Meta / 6000+ posts and 0 merit...and the winner 🥇 is... on: January 21, 2020, 11:06:17 PM
I know it's "difficult" for some people to earn merit  but after almost 2 years in the forum and 6000+ posts.
Here i present you :

Rimidalv

Found him in the patrol, while checking some random posts Wink
