OP updated Smiley
Thank you guys Wink
1182  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitwings promises smartphone that can mine 2 ETH/month. Ponzi scheme? on: July 09, 2020, 12:38:57 PM
You cannot mine with a phone 2ETH per month. I read the whitepaper but it's unclear how a device will be capable to produce more than 1000 MH/s if it's meant to mine.
1183  Economy / Reputation / Re: Alt of game-protect? on: July 09, 2020, 09:44:29 AM
I thought that Game Protect is busy in suing theymos and taking down the forum, at least that was last impression I got from them, not hiding like a mouse behind an alt account.
Trying to leave an impression of a strong personalty and then ruing all with buying an account and  getting caught is ... pathetic.

Good catch. I wish I had more merit @theymos!!
1184  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcasino.io comes to a non disclosed agreement with a user who won 171 btc on: July 08, 2020, 02:07:19 PM
I just came to this case a few minutes ago and found this thread after read the locked one.
The sole fact that the user(the hacker in this case) removed the Video and edited the OP was quite fishy.
We have seen many other cases like that handled in pure transparency, and I would assume that a reputed casino will never make a "secret" deal after being exposed without coming forward to explain the situation. This will just ruin their reputation to the ground.
In this case I'm on Bitcasino's side.
1185  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: July 08, 2020, 10:50:31 AM
Topic tracking is great but can we have a Section tracking??? Like for instance, if you want to buy some nice physical coin, then you can keep an eye on what people sell and you get notification for every new topic in Collectables Smiley

It's possible. I will take a look on how I can do this. Thanks!

Great!! Thank you Smiley Smiley
1186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Many pages hidden within the forum on: July 03, 2020, 10:59:49 PM
They all should be in the MORE menu, which i suggested long ago. If you don't know they exist, you'll never find them (most of them).
For sure its difficult for the newbies.

1188  Other / Meta / Re: Statistics Bitcointalk.org on: July 01, 2020, 01:25:49 PM
~ This is a new anti-record of the forum(
It's not an anti-record, it's more like a postitive statistics that shows that preventive measures taken by the administration are paying back, the spammers have given up on their "work" and hopefully found a real job and better life...
Less volume but better quality Smiley
1189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Email New month wishing Message alert from the forum. on: July 01, 2020, 12:58:34 PM
Slowly the signature spam is extending to Meta, I see.
Is this your idea of posting HQ posts - some sh!t people are spamming the forum, let's spam them back?!?
Very "funny", now you can lock the topic and re-think your priorites and goals in the forum.
1190  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitwings promises smartphone that can mine 2 ETH/month. Ponzi scheme? on: July 01, 2020, 06:26:44 AM
~

Haha, I love the way those guys are trying to promote their scam in their scam accusation thread! Defending their position with the "just wait and you'll see" typical scamming scheme. So pathetic.

1193  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: June 29, 2020, 11:46:06 AM
My Bitcoin address is: bc1qfyyy5wlgxweg5fs06skklfgv4hnsam0tt9wlmc

You should also provide a signed message so they can verify it.

Oh, nevermind then. I've deleted every bitcoin software/wallet I had.

The idea of the stacked address is to confirm ( when needed) that you still have control over the private key of that address. It is not a must to sign a message but it is recommended, that way you eliminate the chance to stake an address you don't own the private keys of even that you have control over the funds in it, like an exchange address.

Should sign a message with the address you want to prove ownership.

The post is quoted by some users, it is a kind of proof but not enough. The guy can not sign a message now but months or years later, if he want to prove his ownership with the account and with the address, he must sign a message from the address. Without a sign message from the same quoted address, it is not a proof of ownership.

If you have a paper wallet somewhere, and you don't want to mess with it until is really necessary (security reasons) I think it should be OK to stake only the address. You have control over the private keys but you don't want to mess around with importing them just to stake it. For me it's OK if you know what are you doing. Later on, when you really need to prove your identity, then you can take the risk to import the keys and sign a message.
Everyone should take it's own responsibility for their actions, we have already warred them, if they follow it's OK, if they think they have everything secured and it's no need, it OK either. As long as you don't stake an address you cannot sign a message from, it's fine.
This part is mostly for the newbies, to learn and know how to sign and verify messages, and to be sure they control the address.

1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin donation on: June 29, 2020, 06:58:09 AM
Just an advice, if you have that bad habit on clicking random links, better not keep any crypto on that machine you are using on daily basis (bette not in the same network as well).
The best solution is to just get rid of that bad habit and just increase your cyber hygiene. Clicking random links can be quite expensive.
1196  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: June 28, 2020, 12:44:42 PM
How exactly did you create the message in the first place? Did you use Electrum? Huh
Well I use Electrum, maybe I made a mistake so I can't verify and I will try again with a new Electrum wallet.

Do you make something like that when you verify and post your signed message?

TUTORIAL: How to use Electrum (for advanced users)
TUTORIAL: How to use Electrum (for beginners)
I will see this method more concisely here and thank you for giving good advice,

Just sign another message from the same address and try to verify it before you post here.
1197  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How to verify a Trezor Message if you don't own Trezor HW wallet? on: June 27, 2020, 11:09:27 PM
Thank you guys for the answers. Seems like I still have a lot to learn but I will reveal my plan to you.

I am going to write a guide on how newbies can verify messages for any type of address.
So I guess I will have more questions during the process.
I'm doing it basically for myself, because I learn new stuff that way and someone can actually benefit from what I have learned Smiley

1199  Other / Meta / Re: 6000+ posts and 0 merit...and the winner 🥇 is... on: June 27, 2020, 10:56:44 PM

I'm shocked Cheesy

You should give thanks to OP.
It is ironic that when you mentioned here because of lack of merits, is the reason why your ranked up 2x higher than your past rank.

Anyway, I know that most of us here want to earn through bounty campaigns. I had been there too. But when I saw a daylight, it changed my principles. It will give you more opportunity when you fully understand everything in the forum, cryptocurrency and blockchains. You can share and learn more when you are active participant in forum.

I hope this thread will be a sign for you that you will need to improve more your posts, lessen some bounties and be active in real discussion of this forum. Don`t let anybody say, "from scratch to scratch" when time comes. Instead make this as your stepping stone to be a quality poster of this forum. I was once a scratch and I don`t want to be that forever.

I like to help people in, the one discussed in the OP was just an honest bounty hunter, didn't find any alts or anything and the guy from a newbie with 0 received merit and 6000+ posts manage to ran up to Member. I won't say that it's well deserved but again, at least he was TOP in something that is not harming the forum ( I haven't checked if he advertised any scam projects).

The other guy I posted a few days ago is another case.. see the previous comments.
1200  Other / Meta / Re: 6000+ posts and 0 merit...and the winner 🥇 is... on: June 26, 2020, 04:31:20 PM

Haha, damn i screwed someone's world up again. Start to be a habit i think.
Good findings man.
So there were other posts as well besides the bounty reports.

^That was actually the challenge i was talking about Wink
