I think this layout is another important step towards wider adoptance of Bitcoin.

agreed.

dumb it down for the masses, and masses are more likely to arrive.

i can live with that.

well sorry to hear about the death, but congrats on the new nephew, uncle pirate.
1943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Mt.Gox reloaded : Welcome to Mt.Gox's new and improved design! on: December 01, 2011, 10:01:47 AM
All the data you need at your fingertips is now only a click away!

ironic, considering 'withdrawal' (by bitcoin) now takes 1 extra click than before.

no, i'm firmly in the classic camp... someone else summed up the new interface well when they said it has 'a much lower information density'. the glaring problem with this is the enourmous amount of pixel height given to the header and following <h1>  ...so pretty much every feature requires you to scroll down after every click.

i'm not a fan at all.
1944  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Looking for lenders on: December 01, 2011, 09:57:33 AM
actually pirate, you previously mentioned you would have some kind of online statement viewable 'by the end of the month'... any news on that?
1945  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!! on: November 30, 2011, 09:21:39 PM
Bitcoin will never, ever reach $32 again, ever.  Period.

saving this for later...
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to retrieve .005 bitcoin sent by fawcet? on: November 29, 2011, 01:03:13 PM
maybe your client needs to download ALL the blocks... there are at least 155,222 of them now.
1947  Economy / Services / Re: [Announce] thrucoin.com - yet another escrow service on: November 28, 2011, 09:33:52 PM
Good job differentiating yourself from the other options, sir!

haha yeah, i thought of a few things that no other escrow service is doing, but i'll announce those features after they're implemented.

for now, it's just a simple-to-use site, so people have one more choice.
1948  Economy / Services / Re: Trusted members and The Escrow League on: November 28, 2011, 03:22:08 PM

hi nelisky, i know i'm not on your list, but for those that know me, there is now one more option: http://thrucoin.com

Hey. That's great, the more the better. This particular thread is for individuals willing to escrow, but I certainly appreciate the information.

well, i'm an individual, who happens to be a designer/programmer Smiley   ...but i get your point, you want the human element whereas sites like mine are designed to be automated.
1949  Economy / Services / [Announce] thrucoin.com - yet another escrow service on: November 28, 2011, 02:51:27 PM
just uploaded this: http://thrucoin.com

still a fair few things to do on my list, but what's online now functions quite well i think.

anyway, it's one more option on the table for those needing an escrow service.
1950  Economy / Services / Re: Trusted members and The Escrow League on: November 28, 2011, 02:47:17 PM
There is nothing wrong with the existing escrow services, except I don't know/trust those behind them, so it's square one all over again.

hi nelisky, i know i'm not on your list, but for those that know me, there is now one more option: http://thrucoin.com

1951  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you were to start a position on bitcoinica RIGHT NOW... on: November 26, 2011, 09:45:15 AM
imho expecting bitcoinica to teach you how to trade is like expecting adidas to teach you how to play soccer.
1952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria may be forced to adopt bitcoin on: November 25, 2011, 09:25:25 PM
Bitcoin+FSU seems much more interesting as a geographical focus point for now.

Florida State University?
Finance Sector Union?
Feminist Students United?

please tell me what it is as i can't find a matching acronym, thanks.
1953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria may be forced to adopt bitcoin on: November 25, 2011, 10:16:12 AM
very old thread, sorry...

can anyone recommend the best way for a Nigerian to convert his Naira to bitcoin? do any exchanges accept naira locally or they have to do an international wire?
1954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you got kids? on: November 25, 2011, 09:32:30 AM

[18:13] hows it going?
Ian
[18:14] great!

[18:14] testing out bitcoin 0.5.0

[18:14] seems fine so far

[18:14] how about you
astana.cpu
[18:16] trying to find a buisness partner

[18:16] thats about it

[18:17] testing out linux distro's and vpn's

[18:18] you still up for selling some mtgox tomorrow?

[18:18] $1K worth?

[18:25] no good?

[18:25] ill make it worth your while

[18:25] Wink
Ian
[18:34] yeah i can sell up to $3500 still

[18:34] for 10% as i mentioned

so he sends me 800 AUD to my aussie bank account and i send him a 720 AUD mtgox code... then later he comes online and says "WTF! i didn't agree to no 10%"

this guy doesn't read what you write.

he says i should send him the extra $80 because it's 'rightfully his'.   WTF again.

IN ADDDITION

even after all this i offered a full refund... all he has to do is send me back a mtgox code for 720 AUD and i'll send him back the $800... but he refused to do this.

obviously i specifically want to have my funds in gox, so that i can profit from it.

1960  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's so special about utility bills? on: November 20, 2011, 02:59:32 AM
It's a real bummer if you have a goal of not paying bills because you don't like debts or just like to keep things simple (for example)

it's also a real bummer if you always use a PO box for all your mail and have practically nothing with your home address printed on it.

Does the electricity or the gas go to heat and light the PO box itself?  If not, your utility bill almost certainly lists a "service address".

no. the gas and power comes to my house. but the bill for it goes to my po box and does not list the address that the gas/electricity was used at. just my name, my account number and the amount owing, etc.
