2001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fast confirm? on: January 31, 2014, 06:27:07 PM
You need to pay 0.1 mBTC per 1000 Byte of your transaction.

1 input is about 180 byte.

So if you have 1000 Inputs you'll need to pay at least 18 mBTC or 0.018 BTC to send it.

There is no going around that.

And how much time it would take to confirm?

As long as you pay the min fee, it should get included in a block soon even for a huge tx.

2005  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin-QT wallet not confirming all night!! Not even 0 out of 6 / & restarted! on: January 31, 2014, 06:08:52 PM
I did exactly that Sonny, and it says 'Unable To find all tx inputs" and gave me several transaction numbers..
this might be because on another pc I have started searching for all the blocks again.

Nice long slow process, will retry after doing this and am going to strongly reconsider changing wallets if I ever get this back. I should though because my wallet was synched.

Maybe you can take a look at this thread (I know it is old). https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140558.0
2006  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best secure way of buying bitcoins? on: January 31, 2014, 06:04:06 PM
I have always used mtgox to purchase but I wont use it for anything else.

No offense, just curious.
Why didn't you try to do verification in coinbase or bitstamp and save yourself ~$150 per bitcoin?
2007  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: January 31, 2014, 05:59:25 PM

Check out http://bitcoinera.net/
You can earn many bitcoins by referring other users to the site.

Total scam...  Roll Eyes

Not surprised Smiley
You can see most of his posts are related to that site and contain that referral link lol.
2009  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do we really need so many kinds of coins? on: January 31, 2014, 05:49:43 PM

Good features to add to an altcoin would be anonymity and a way to prevent double spend attacks.

Double spend is not necessarily a bad thing.
Sometimes, we double spend our own transaction when we have forgotten to add a fee, or make a bad mistake using raw transaction.

What do you mean it's not a bad thing? How can it be good?

Double spend attack is bad.
But, double spend is not necessarily a bad thing.

Exactly as my last post, sometime you could make mistake in creating transaction.

This is just one example how double spend can actually help people solve problem and do no harm to anybody.

Of course, it is a bad thing if someone send his bitcoin to a gambling site, lose the bet, and double spend that tx.  Wink
2010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction disappeared in blockchain, lost my bitcoins (: on: January 31, 2014, 05:38:59 PM
Life is good...thank you, Sonny...thank you Gary Rowe and Jim618 and Mike Hearn.  I'll be back to Multibit when I am better equipped.

2011  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SatoshiCircle on: January 31, 2014, 05:22:36 PM
I sure hope they have credited people that held BTC with them the site has been down for 2 days now HTTP error which means that the server isn't even on. Such a shame really good site my condolences to those who may have a large sum of BTC with them.

Yup, the site is down for days now.
The owner did make a post saying that no data has been compromised or lost.

Greetings everyone,

As many of you have noticed, SatoshiCircle is currently down. Our backend server provider has experienced an outage, so we are currently working with them to bring the site back online. No data has been lost or compromised, so everything will return to normal shortly. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding! Once the site comes back online, we will happily catch up with promotional awards as well.

Happy day wishes,

The SatoshiCircle Team

BTW, I am not really sure if this thread is in the right place.

2014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Multibit saldo and Blockchain.info. Please help. on: January 31, 2014, 05:10:39 PM
Ok, so I reset the blockchain and transactions and now it shows the correct number.  Grin

The amounts were actually a few orders more than what I said, so you can imagine my sweaty handpalms!

Much thanks for the help. The forum quality compensates for the complications in working with Multibit wallets, backups etc. I thought that maybe 'change' of earlier spends had come back on different 'keys' and were lost due to not updating the wallet backups before changing from 8.1 preview to windows 8.1. Or something like that.

It is the cost of not completely understanding how everything works in detail, even though I am definitely not new to it.

I need a beer! Thanks guys!

Glad to hear that.
Enjoy your beer and bitcoin  Smiley
2015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I accidentally the whole thing ... I sent btc to my dvc wallet. on: January 31, 2014, 05:07:51 PM
Me .. 10K DVC to Doge address at vircurex *sux

Guess you should contact their support as well.
Judging from OP's experience, I guess it will not be a problem.
Good luck! Smiley

2017  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why would someone want to buy a account? on: January 31, 2014, 04:57:50 PM
I would sell that. Every time I see something like that it seems like a scam.

You would or you wouldn't? I guess it's a tricky process as you're likely to get scammed. Can't imagine there's many escrows who offer their services for this haha.

Maybe the escrow can leave a negative trust on that traded account after the trade, and the buyer will not be able to use it for any sig deal lol.
2018  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why would someone want to buy a account? on: January 31, 2014, 04:56:49 PM
selling my account .05 btc

lol.
Forget about it, no one will buy a jr member for $40.  Wink
2019  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain.info can't spend due to unconfirmed transaction on: January 31, 2014, 04:51:44 PM
Sonny: Someone from another forum posted:

"blockchain.info can't undo transactions. they can only let you attempt to double spend them and stop rebroadcasting the old transactions so they might disappear from the network before they get included in a block, but I'm not sure if this happens."

So, will blockchain indeed stop broadcasting these after a few days?

Too bad, it seems my info is wrong Sad

It depends on how you made the first transaction.
I heard that when it's from a blockchain.info wallet, then blockchain.info keeps broadcasting the tx
If it's from bitcoin-qt though, yeah you (he) can delete that transaction from your (his) wallet with pywallet

Also, bitcoin-qt can import keys. I don't know about blockchain.info but I think so

It is really bad that site will keep broadcasting the tx, even if the tx is with no fee and dust output Sad
2020  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best secure way of buying bitcoins? on: January 31, 2014, 04:47:07 PM
Mt Gox is one of the biggest exchanges. It is probably one of the most secure ways of buying bitcoins because it deals in such large quantities. However, they only deal in thousands of dollars worth. The minimum purchase is probably $1000.

I am not too sure about the smaller exchanges but I know the smallest sometimes get hacked and people lose their bitcoins. Maybe an expert on these forums could offer better advice than me.

Clearly you haven't used gox. Takes ages to get your money in and out of there. Avoid it.

Well, if we are talking about buying bitcoin, it is okay to use mtgox, if you don't mind the following:
1. The price is significant higher (Bitstamp: ~800 vs Mtgox: ~940 at this moment)
2. There is a bad delay in btc withdrawal (yes, BTC not fiat)
