1061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin-qt return on: February 10, 2014, 07:41:54 AM
I can see a lot of people misuse the word "wallet" for bitcoin address, and there are dozens of bitcoin websites (mainly faucets or sites for giveaway) out there asking people to "enter your wallet", which makes no sense at all.
1062  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is happening with Bitstamp- re flash problem on: February 10, 2014, 07:37:56 AM
I still can't figure this out.  Thanks for helping Minzie.  I am a little surprised that nobody has had this issue except me!

Probably not a helpful answer to you, but I can login my bitstamp account using either firefox or chrome.
1063  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Next difficulty ~3,000,000,000? Tracking difficulty since 145,000,000. on: February 10, 2014, 07:28:41 AM

This is what bitcoinwisdom is saying right now... no more ROI on many of the miners out there except the biggest.

Time to sell all the mining hardware to the ignorant many (like me) for vastly over priced £££ on ebay.

I am just sad to see there are always newbies buying overpriced hardware with no idea they can never get their investment back...not enough close....
1064  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why mining contracts cost you more than you can earn from them on: February 10, 2014, 07:16:43 AM
of course they are selling unprofitable contracts.

please explain why? obviously no one buys them right?

If you can get easy profit buying those hashrate, why would the site owner sell you the hashrate in the first place?

Even for highly overpriced hashrate or equipment, many people still buy them as they have no idea how difficulty adjustment works and how it will affect the mining profitability.
1065  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining, hash rate, difficulty and btc price relationships? on: February 10, 2014, 07:13:40 AM
Interesting to know if the price will jump when BTC reward will be halved? When will it happen ?

BTC price may increase a bit, but don't expect too much; and there is still 2+ years for that to happen lol.

1066  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Good time for CEX.io on: February 10, 2014, 07:07:39 AM
any success to get referals? Smiley

You may try to put your referral link in your sig, and make more posts in the mining section (no spamming please).  Smiley
1067  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Most Reliable ASIC brand? on: February 10, 2014, 07:06:20 AM
I guess Bitmain is the best one in the list Smiley
1068  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 6k dollar to invest on: February 10, 2014, 07:03:25 AM
It is more profitable and less works for you to just buy bitcoin directly, instead of buying mining hardware. Smiley
1069  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC help on: February 10, 2014, 07:02:07 AM
Bitcoin in your hand right now is better, way better, than any mining machine in March, April, May, June, July, etc...
Buy BTC, it is at low price right now, you dont have to mine to be in the BTC game Smiley

Very much agree with both of them.
It is very hard for you to get profit mining bitcoin now, and you better just buy bitcoin directly.
1070  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Soon only sharks will mine ... on: February 10, 2014, 06:58:17 AM
If difficulty keeps increasing, people with less efficient hardware will eventually quit mining, and then difficulty will adjust itself...

The remaining miners should be having the most efficient hardware, but they may not be all sharks or whales....
1071  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best mining start up on: February 10, 2014, 06:56:09 AM
Black Arrow...are you for real?Huh have you seen their main thread...

Well, those guys above made their replies in early Dec, and the situation didn't look that bad back then....
1072  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: SHA256 MINING GEAR on: February 10, 2014, 06:47:48 AM
Looks like you bought a screwdriver at least.  Wink
i was on my tab with a sticky caps key daft when your touchscreen works but wont turn off caps.
ill keep u all posted on the amt developments. so far iv been waiting 2 weeks no signs of shipment.

You wont be seeing anything for a long time.  They havent even taped out a chip yet.

Well, I guess it will still be better than BFL lol  Wink
1073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining has bonus! PPS handing free on: February 10, 2014, 06:42:28 AM
Seems like a wrong place for your thread about a LTC pool....
1074  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How much earnings from 230GH asic machine? on: February 10, 2014, 06:37:34 AM
depend's how much are you paying for miner.
it can earn you around 2btc in his lifetime till July when it will suck more power than earn in a month.
if you pay for miner $1000 you can break even in 2-2,5 months.
if you pay for miner $2000 you won't break even ever.

and it is sold on eBay for US $2,680.99 + $128.80 shipping lol.
eBay is really a wonderful place for mining hardware seller. Cheesy
1075  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Low Hashrate (bitminter 1.4.3) on: February 10, 2014, 06:35:37 AM
Hey, im new to this with Bitcoins. Ive been reading some here and there, and downloaded bitminter.
Ive seen ppl with some hundreds of hashrate ghps, so i feel im doing something wrong here.

I have a gefroce gtx 670 and my Ghps is on 0.11 and Mhps at 105-106.

Anyone know what the problem can be, or a guide i can look into? Been looking around some but couldt find any.
Thanks.

People having hundreds of GH/s, because they spent a lot in buying ASICs (some hardware that is designed specially for sha256 computation).

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison
With your GTX670, you are expected to get ~112MH/s, and there is nothing wrong with your card.

1076  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I know this question is asked a lot but is mining still profitable? on: February 10, 2014, 06:32:07 AM
Well i just calculated some stuff and it seems i would only make about 4 cents per day with 2 block erupters lol.

Your BE should run for 330 MH/s, and thus you would be able to get a few cents a day (before electricity cost).

With say a raspberry pi block erupter setup or maybe in the future with one of these http://www.butterflylabs.com/monarch/

Just a friendly reminder, BFL has a very bad record in the past in keeping its delivery schedule of the pre-order units. You should be prepared to get your hardware months or 1+ year late, or should better stay away from BFL.
1077  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Good cloud mining websites? on: February 10, 2014, 06:28:09 AM
I also want a good rentability, not just 10$ more than my investement.

It is not profitable at all to buy hashrate and do cloud mining.

Think it this way: If you can buy the hashrate and get profit, why would the site owner sell the hashrate in the first place?

Probably because the site owner would sell the hashrate now (when profitable) and deliver late (when unprofitable).

If that is the case, the hashrate buyer will lose his investment......as the late hashrate would not bring much revenue to the buyer....
1078  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is GPU mining even worth an investment? on: February 10, 2014, 06:20:18 AM
With the recent drop in bitcoin price, it is now a good time to buy some cheap coins.
Instead of buying GPUs, you should get better return and less works by buying bitcoin directly.
1079  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Questions about mining in general on: February 10, 2014, 06:17:47 AM
Forget about mining bitcoin for profit.
And, never buy any mining hardware on eBay as they are all highly overpriced. Cheesy
1080  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Its time to switch from CEX.IO? on: February 10, 2014, 06:15:37 AM
What do you think its time to switch from CEX.IO to butterfly labs?

Cex.io hashrate is always highly overpriced, while BFL has really bad history in meeting its delivery schedule for pre-order units.

So, just stay away from both the 2 sites. Cheesy
