2001  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have spent 100 days of my life logged on bitcointalk! on: December 25, 2022, 05:38:50 AM
I am happy to share this milestone with all of you! I have reached 100 days logged on this forum!  Cool
Congrats, OP on that. Looking at your account registration dated 2014, I'm of the opinion that you ought to have surpassed the 100 days logged in a few years ago. Do I take it that there was a period (stretch of months) you weren't active on the forum? I ask these because I'm almost 30 days over the 100-day logged in period you've and my account was registered in 2017. Did you experience any hiatus? If yes, what really was it? Can you share that experience with us.
2002  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story and where it is now..... on: December 24, 2022, 08:17:39 PM
Ouch! I'm shocked beyond words, sincerely. You're indeed a great dude to still carry on and continued to run campaigns effectively despite all what you're going through. My thought and prayer are with you for a successful surgery. Be strong, bro.

It's because of issues of life such as this (which we don't get to know about others) that I try to maintain cordiality with online folks, even when angered. We don't know who is having a bad day, and our negative comments or attitude can push them deeper into sadness or depression.
2003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All in the name of "we are sorry we got hacked" on: December 24, 2022, 05:26:22 PM
It looks like getting hacked is a big excuse to rob people's money, they can easily blame it on hack and say 'we are sorry we get hacked' where as they pray for it or have it in mind to hacked themselves.
I'm almost running into the conclusion that such is becoming the pattern now. They expect investors who've invested money in their sham projects to show sympathy once that excuse is made. As soon as that's achieved the projects buy time with that excuse and make their escape plans before the bewildered investors realize what's happening. Investors have really suffered in this space and I guess it's largely due to the fact that it's not yet regulated. I believe that if there's regulation, so many of these abnormalities will disappear overnight.
2004  Economy / Reputation / Re: It sucks that 1xbit still runs on: December 24, 2022, 07:21:52 AM
They are very strong with promotions already they are in a less position over here in the forum but they tried their possible best to make sure other platforms recognized them.
That's correct. I've seen 1Xbit on another crypto forum I'm on with its heavy adverts. The scam site is doing all it can to spread its scammy tentacles everywhere it can get to. BTT shouldn't be serving as an exception (it's really) and not allow it advertise here especially with the widespread condemnation of that site here. However, we don't know why the admins of this forum continue to allow it here. Perhaps, there's a reason for that. Again, it reminds us that this forum isn't run as a democracy where majority has its say. If it were based on that, the majority spoke on that long time ago.
2005  Economy / Reputation / Re: Members of the RedTrust leadership on: December 23, 2022, 08:11:13 PM
and you have a 1 POST, Is this an alternate account or am I missing a story?
But of course, obviously it's.

I don't know why members hide behind noob accounts to write clandestinely. What are they so scared of if they're honest with their point of view? This thread doesn't make any sense to me, and for whatsoever reasons; it shouldn't expectedly be to any other person.

but the one opposite my nickname has nothing to do with trust. In the post on the link you cited, I'm explaining to the user how to properly file a ban evasion claim.
That's a resultant effect of hastily going to press without running a thorough check.
2006  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have been subjected to harassment on: December 23, 2022, 01:34:31 PM
but also i heve been considering end with my life, why i should end my life if supposedly I'm already a millionaire?
You shouldn't even for a second allow random humans you don't know dictate your peace of mind let alone make you contemplate suicide because of their actions towards you. Grow a think skin. The internet isn't a nice place.

OP, you've created a headache for yourself. As soon as you realized that a person does not know what he is talking about and, even more, that you are not involved in his problems, you should have simply ignored him.
You're spot on with this, as usual. There are so many mental cases on the net. We don't know what share of them we've here 🤔. That's the reason we shouldn't pay much attention to trolls.
2007  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Amendment of the CBN cash withdrawal policy on: December 22, 2022, 12:30:24 PM

This is a positive development. The new cashless policy aimed to reduce corruption and money laundering by corrupt politicians while also driving economic growth, improving our payment gateway, and lowering banking costs.
Says who? My brother, thief nor fit catch thief. For owa korokoro eyes, a day to election bullion van enta Tinubu house go offload cash and till today nothing happen. The simple reason be sey na the ruling party im take the cash support. If to sey na another persin wey nor dey APC try dat nonsense, we kuku know how EFCC dey take work na. Owa problem for Naija nor be lack of policies and laws. Na lack of strong institutions be owa problem. In a sane society, Godwin Emefiele not fit try all these nonsense he's doing with going into politics while still serving as a government servant. It's unheard of.

The fact that the CBN changed its policy and increased the weekly cash withdrawal shows that they continue to prioritize the country's interests.

2013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few Days To Christmas - How Are You Preparing? on: December 20, 2022, 09:58:41 PM
Other than the harmattan usually experienced during the Christmas period, nothing seems to be special for me now as a grown-up man. In my growing up days, it used to be a time for celebration and that was because my Dad made it so, spending unnecessarily. Now that I've my kids, I'm a bit circumspect. My kids know there's nothing that can be done on December 25th they don't get the opportunity of doing on any other day; food and whatever. In fact, I've made it a tradition to stay indoors on Christmas day. It's because of the crave of people to overdo things around the festivity that has made me take a contrary approach, treating Christmas like a regular period.
2014  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Finally got my boss to pay me in Bitcoin on: December 20, 2022, 06:39:12 PM
I'm all in for whatever that makes Bitcoin blossom, in terms of publicity and adoption but you've to also factor in the demerit of accepting it as "usable" salary. My emphasis is on the word usable to mean cash you're going to expend almost immediately and not as something set aside as an investment. We know how price fluctuates with Bitcoin. Are you ready to stomach all that when it happens on a dip? Can you? At some point, you will experience that your $200 BTC will be made a shadow of itself during this bear season. You would've been at an advantage were this happening in the bull season. This isn't to make you panic but to unveil to you what you should expect.
2015  Other / Meta / Re: Shall we lock all topics about World Cup 2022 in next 7 or 14 days? on: December 20, 2022, 05:33:41 PM
~snipped~
but I don't think any thread regarding a major world tournament needs to be locked two days after it finishes. There's still a lot that can be discussed right now so until discussion dies down I don't think they should be locked.
I shared this same perspective in the morning of today on another thread. It's going to be premature to do so as the bottled up feelings and takes will be swallowed up. Whatever happens, I feel between a week and the end of December should be the deadline to lock up the rest of the threads that are still open now. Let's have a clean start in January. By then there won't be much to be discussed which hasn't been discussed. The rest will be spamming, no matter what.
2016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be very careful with alts on: December 20, 2022, 02:29:10 PM
Crypto is a perfect engine for scammers because it's still unregulated and it's also the wild west when it comes to making money quick with less efforts.
Yes, it is. However, there's no business that doesn't have its share of scammers even when they're regulated. Forex Trading and Stocks still grasp with that till date. It's always one story or verification or breaking the rule or the other in forex trading once the broker is a fraudulent one. Crypto is just slightly over a decade old and we know with time as it progresses some of these teething problems will be bygone.

Keep a track of your altcoins regularly and once you see the slackness in the team it's safer to switch.
Sometimes investors don't even have an idea of what's going to hit them and can't get out quickly until it's late. We saw what happened with LUNA and FTX.
2017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your alt bags on: December 20, 2022, 12:44:12 PM
I think this happens at the end of each year. We always see a red market every time we approach the turn of the year. I think some ventures did sell most of their assets and some big whales also spent assets for year-end holidays with families.
It's a circle and expectedly so at this time. It's a festive period. Relaxation and partying comes to mind at the end of each calendar year. Those who take out their profit on their investments so as to spend quality time with families are the "humane investor" while those who don't are the "shrewd investors". Everything will do in life should've a human face, otherwise our struggles in life will be without a purpose. As for what I'm doing with my bags at a time like now, I DCA where I can. I also sell off at resistance and then rebuy later.
2018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High Profit Projects Are Prone To Scam on: December 20, 2022, 10:02:33 AM
With my little experience so far, I have come to realize that most crypto projects that promise Investors excessive returns on their Investment eventually turn out to be scam.
We all get wiser from experience. I'm not sure there's no one who hasn't been tricked that way here. Perhaps may be one or two out of 100. It's the reason they say, "experience is the best teacher"

Quote
I once participated in a a certain project that was giving Investors about 5 times (5×) bonus during their presale. The team kept postponing the exchange listing date until everybody got tired of them and realized that, it was a scam project. When the complaints on the Telegram group became too much, the project team just abandoned the group, leaving Investors with bot.
I guess it's about time we stopped shielding these scammers by dragging and tagging the company involved so that others will know who and who we're referring to. In that way, many of those who will also want to scam in future will know numerous eyes are watching them.
2019  Other / Meta / Re: So many threads on FIFA World Cup 2022 on: December 20, 2022, 07:44:17 AM
I have reported them to the moderator, I assume other members also did it as well.

Anyway, this thread also needs to be locked, too. It is related to the world cup tournaments.
While I ain't making a case for mods and OPs as to why these world cup related threads haven't been locked yet, I think it has to do with the fact that the euphoria of the world cup is still on. We're just two days after the tournament and it will be premature to lock them and prevent members from sharing their takes, excitements, disappointments and surprises. We can begin to raise eyebrows by the time it's a week past the end of the tournament and the threads are still left unlocked. That's my take on this.
2020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin Dead ? on: December 19, 2022, 07:28:38 PM
Why didn't you even start with a complete quote so we know the source? On the Dogecoin issue, you should know that Elon didn't become Twitter's CEO at the time he started shilling Dogecoin and so I don't see what will change if he isn't CEO anymore or some weird stuff like that. That Doge is dropping in price cuts across, even Bitcoin itself has its fair share of the dip. I don't think there's anything wrong with Doge ATM and no; it's not dead.
