2021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIT COINS WILL ALWAYS DISAPPOINT on: March 21, 2019, 05:47:58 PM
I know a lot of people wants to have the next Bitcoin (price movement wise) that is why they will always spend hours looking at ICOs, and they tend to always choose the ICO who has a lot of hype and promotions backing it. For a newbie this may look like to them that the ICO has a lot of supporters but the thing is hype does not translate to the ICO being successful, at the end most of them fell victim and the ones hyping it are the only ones who took profit from the ICO. People could really avoid the hype they are seeing just by doing a little bit of research and try to find out the hype behind it. But for newbies this doesn't really happen as they always believe what others are saying in the internet, and its enough for them to participate in it.
2022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to play poker for bitcoin over tor? on: March 20, 2019, 08:57:30 PM
We might not have understood his question when he was referring to playing poker using TOR. He might be referring to a .onion gambling website that he can play using Bitcoin. In which case I don't know any .onion gambling website or none that I can recommend for now as I myself haven't played on them because I don't see the need to do so. Additionally keep in mind that you are trying to find a gambling website in the deep web chances are a lot of them are just there to scam people.
2023  Economy / Speculation / Re: New Report Warns 87 Percent of Cryptocurrency Exchange Volume Is Potentially Sus on: March 20, 2019, 08:17:14 PM
If each exchange averaged the volume per visit of CoinbasePro, Gemini, Poloniex, Binance, and Kraken, we would expect the real trading volume among the largest 100 exchanges to equal $2.1 (billion) per day. Currently that number is being reported as $15.9 (billion).

This is by far the dumbest equation I have seen created in order to have some headline on their website. How can someone translate a website visit into becoming a official traded volume of an exchange without even factual evidence that the viewer have actually traded or even has an account to trade in? Are they actually confident or at least aware that their readers only read through the headlines and not the whole article that they made some shitty content based on a big assumption?
2024  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Mark Karpelès : Bitcoin Embezzlement Verdict on Friday on: March 20, 2019, 05:41:33 PM
https://twitter.com/ynakamura56/status/1106362801193279488

Guilty. Quelle surprise. Two years and six months in prison. The sentence is suspended though who knows whether that means the same thing as it does in other jurisdictions. I guess that Vinnik geezer is up next.

And on another source from Japan I see "four years parole" immediately. That's the suspended sentence term. So he doesn't go to prison but has to report back and be on good behaviour for the next 4 years. If he's naughty during that time, then he goes to the slammer for 2 years +. I don't know about you guys but this just feels like he got away with it.

Innocent on charges of embezzlement and breach of trust, basically.
This is what I say is a slap in the wrist for such crime committed. If this was just a guy who rob a store and pointed a gun to someone he would likely face 15+ years in prison without even earning a dime on what he stole. This white collared criminals are protected by corporation laws separating the juridical entity (corporation) and the CEO and owners itself, the sad thing is he probably have more than 3 million dollars in his account after all things clears out after him lying low for a while. I didn't even see how the 10 years max will be handed to him as simply I know that the juridical system just take lightly on similar cases as compared to simple robbery and theft committed by normal persons.
2025  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Net Currency Index - SCAM ICO - Fake team/ Stealing people's identity on: March 20, 2019, 03:59:56 PM
By the way @lovesmayfamilis did they really have your medium account and post deleted in the website?
I do not have a Medium account. They exaggerate their capabilities.
So they are either lying or have mixed you up with another person who is trying to bring them down as well. Either way what they are doing is not right a proven scammer shouldn't contact you for removing your accusations not unless that they will prove your accusations as false. I just don't get the part where they have tried to contact you five months after you caught them, they might just be trying to salvage an already known scam project for a little money.
2026  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Net Currency Index - SCAM ICO - Fake team/ Stealing people's identity on: March 19, 2019, 07:38:20 PM
I remember that medium deleted ICOEthic's profile last year for breaching their terms of service. Publishing articles (Ie exposing ICO scams) is considered to be some sort of cyberbullying, though someone has to first report and flag your account. Not sure that's the case with lovesmayfamilis here.

Anyway, tagged him myself. Just like a Coolcryptovator, I've also been threatened with PMs (most of them harmless but still not pleasant to deal with) from idiot scammers in the past.

That's some kind of a bummer no wonder why accounts and posts against them are easily deleted Medium's rules and regulation has some kind of edge for scammers wanting to take down their enemies, or for anyone who has some article against them. Just by looking at their rules you will literally see a lot of ways on how your article can be flagged by one of these scammers.

Threats of violence and incitement
We do not allow content or actions that threaten, encourage, or incite violence against anyone, directly or indirectly.

Harassment
Medium exists to share and discuss ideas. We don’t tolerate harassment, which includes:
Bullying, threatening, or shaming someone, or posting things likely to encourage others to do so

Related conduct
We do not allow posts or accounts that engage in on-platform, off-platform, or cross-platform campaigns of targeting, harassment, hate speech, violence, or disinformation. We may consider off-platform actions in assessing a Medium account, and restrict access or availability to that account.

At this point it may seem to be farfetched to use this rules against their enemies but it seems like Medium is siding with the scammers as it's crypto related which is also a big violation for their website. So they don't think twice whether they would delete the post and ban the account or not as the spammers always have the edge with the rules.

Cryptocurrency Accounts, Posts, and Publications
Posts and accounts that focus on cryptocurrencies which do not meet the following requirements may be considered spam and are subject to suspension, depending on context. Medium does not endorse or verify any coin, token, or similar announcement.
2027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: March 19, 2019, 06:51:28 PM
This fight with Mayweather would be unlikely to happen as we all know Floyd is in it just for the money, but Pacquiao has a lot of promising boxers willing to fight him. Right after the huge win against Mikey Garcia, Errol Spence Jr. have called out Pacquiao as his next opponent and I have a feeling that Pacman will accept the challenge. If this fight happens Pacman just wants us to know that he still have some fuel left in his tank and is willing to face one of the most dangerous boxers just to prove it.

These scammers are not good on hiding their tracks, they still have one of the fake team members' profile in their team page. I have tagged this "Andrey" guy so that he knows we are serious on stopping scams entering here in the forum. By the way @lovesmayfamilis did they really have your medium account and post deleted in the website?
2029  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another helpful Software (Advanced SystemCare) Speed-up your Windows PC/Laptop on: March 19, 2019, 11:45:22 AM
The U.I. is good but the pros for this free software ends there. Advance System Care (ASC) of IObit has been known to mess up a lot of settings and files without your permission. Some users experience after booting up their PC only to find out that their firewall has a different setting compared to what is was used to. While some even notice that their junk files instead of decreasing have increased in number pointing out that their software is not really working. If you want to maintain your computer clean I recommend you on installing Malwarebytes and CCleaner instead of having this “all in one” freeware that doesn't work.
2030  Other / Meta / Re: Please Help Me I'm Not The Person Plagiarised on: March 18, 2019, 07:46:53 PM
Possibly, your account was blocked for a ban evasion.

When I first found out about bitcoin it was just this year 2017. I got very first account banned because I was a total newbie and I didn't know about the rules and regulations so now I know somehow how bitcoin works.
I don't know about this but,  I had a lot of wallets at that time. I don't know what I was doing at that time. But certainly this is not the community I was referring to. I cannot recall what happened that time it's too vague for me to remember.

EDIT: Look at my statement. It's not enough to say that, that thing happened in this platform. Sad
Your statement alone might not be enough but on where you have posted it clearly points out you are talking about the forum. The OP talks about his fair share of experiences with Bitcoin as well as his experience with Bitcointalk. The rest of the members who posted before you have just talked about mostly their experiences within the Bitcointalk forum mostly about signature campaigns and bounties so clearly I know when you are talking about your experiences and "rules and regulations" you are just referring to the ones BCT has in the forum.

This probably is the reason why you got permabanned in the forum, In the proof you showed I doubt that mods would make such mistake on banning the original poster rather than the plagiarizer as coinlocket$ has clearly stated on his post on who posted the "original" one and who posted the copy. He even clearly stated black point's name as the plagiarizer.
2032  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-17]Solar Energy to Reduce Mining Cost and Impact on Environment on: March 18, 2019, 06:45:37 PM
Renewable energy not only solar energy has been the answer to keep the environment a little bit greener, just take a look at this old news way back 2018 where a mining company has purchased a Hydro-electric power plant to be use in their mining operation. But instead businesses overall still use non-renewable energy to run their operations as they are cheap and doesn't need any kind of maintenance. I am not only talking about mining companies but for all the businesses that has an option to go green the solution to keep the world green is there its the businesses' ignorance to spend a little more upfront that does not allow it to happen.
2033  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Employed for Bitcoin on: March 18, 2019, 05:37:47 PM
~snip~

Just out of curiosity why is there an issue tying your social media account to a new website? A lot of new startups use social logins to onboard new users quickly and I think this is what Opsonion is trying to do. In order to help crypto reach a mass market, we need to make it super easy for people to get started on these exciting new projects. Are we building for ourselves or the entire world?

I'm not @Theb, but for me personally my issue is that crypto is supposedly (psuedo)-anonymous so I don't what the world to know my real identify. I would rather create or login using a email instead of my personal credential. I love what Opsonion is doing, but sometimes you really need to emphasize anonymity specially if you are getting in the whole cryptocurrency scenery.
@jeansymolanza Kemarit has already gave a good explanation why social media log-ins and even direct Google account log-ins are not attractive for a lot of people in the cryptocommunity. For my point of view most startups and ICOs already require KYCs to be verified it's when they start to ask social media accounts and other accounts that will cross a lot of line for me in terms of my privacy. That is why if I see a email registration I''ll always go for that option. It's not even as inconvenient as you think, registering with your email is as easy as confirming your registration just by clicking the confirmation link with the email they will send.
2034  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Employed for Bitcoin on: March 17, 2019, 07:02:18 PM
It's simple if you are a freelance website centered in Bitcoin/Crypto only payments you would only have freelancers who are interested to get paid in crypto posting for job offers in your website, you won't be having problems on people joining who are wanting to get paid via Paypal or Bank transfers. Your only problem is there is already a lot of freelance websites existing that are accepting crypto payments such as coinality and xbtfreelancer which are already popular in the freelance community, you would have a hard time getting people interested joining in your website especially if you are using Facebook/Google account log-ins in order to sign up in your website. It's sort of a privacy issue for them as they don't want their social media accounts tied to some website especially if they are new and not yet reputable.
2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's your favorite to win this year's Europa League ? on: March 17, 2019, 06:03:58 PM
If would be having my top 3 I'll go in the order of Chelsea being the first one and then Napoli being the 2nd one while Arsenal being the last who among the teams in the Europa league have the highest chance of winning the trophy. I'll be placing Napoli at 2nd because they got owned by Red Bull Salzburg in the 2nd leg they are lucky they won via aggregate while Arsenal is 2nd because even though they dominated the 2nd leg Napoli is still a better team. Chelsea is given to be in the top because they have been playing a solid performance consistently all through out the competition.

Just a Heads Up

Just giving everyone a heads up the whitepaper have plagiarized two whitepapers already and for people seriously thinking about joining their bounty chances are you would only be wasting your time as they are most likely a scam. Other red flags such as not having any profiles for their team and site being registered just recently are also present so just put my words into consideration before joining.
2037  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: EagleChain- Plagiarized Whitepaper on: March 17, 2019, 01:15:54 PM
Looks like EagleChain has been copying other project's whitepaper as well. Doing a quick search in Google I discovered that most parts of their whitepaper are coming from Bulleon's whitepaper [archived] (they are calling it "blackpaper") and the plagiarism is absurd. They have copied from their Disclaimer section until to their Milestone they just have changed the dates for 2019.

EagleChain's Disclaimer Section

EagleChain's Milestone Section

I don't even need to circle or box anything out as they literally just copied the whole thing. The plagiarism doesn't even end there as there are still some pages they have copied that I haven't provided. The bottom line is they have plagiarized at least two whitepapers of ICOs by now and I think that's enough to merit them with a negative feedback.
2038  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tradingview: Karate Monkey Indicators on: March 17, 2019, 11:17:27 AM

Basing it on the example you have given on why this indicator wouldn't work is how it's too late to jump off before the indicator even picks it up. The way I see it is when the indicator is in the water (blue) prices will start to go down while when it is on the sand (brown) prices will rise, but as you can see prices have already dropped just as it went to the water giving no time for its users to have an exit plan beforehand. Another thing is why this indicator wouldn't work is you can see clearly that prices are still rising even though its in the water area which for a swing trader is a very important thing to be picked off.
2039  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you think of Desktop Wallets and introducing myself. :) on: March 16, 2019, 03:12:36 PM
Now that mostly members have explained how wallet recovery works in desktop wallets you should also keep in mind that this is also the way you will lose them through online theft. Your seeds/passphrases and private keys should be kept offline and for your eyes only as if anyone will have access to hit the more likely your BTC will be stolen. Not only that, theres a lot of scam websites and phishing sites that will ask for these kinds of information and no matter what you do don't you ever give them your private keys as its good as giving them your own Bitcoin, and you can kiss your money good bye.
2040  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies Pose Risks to Banks, Warns Basel Committee on: March 16, 2019, 09:42:19 AM
Although banks currently have “very limited” direct exposure to cryptocurrencies, institutions should still “at a minimum” carry out extensive due diligence and disclose any exposure to crypto assets to minimize the risks, the committee said.
Did they just admit that they are aware that central banks of countries are involve into investing in cryptocurrencies? This statement alone only tells us that the BIS know something about the central banks' involvement in the cryptocurrency market, which for a long time I myself doubt that governments are confident enough to enter on. Something tells me that future regulations won't really be about precautions or prohibitions in the crypto market but for them to gain the upper hand when it comes to what they are holding.
