2041  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CipherTrace Crypto AML Report Details $4.3 Billion in Schemes on: August 14, 2019, 07:47:40 PM
I can stomach the 10,000$ threshold that they have set before for AML procedures but 1,000$? Isn't that a bit too much of a decrease for both AML and Counter-Terrorism Financing procedures, yes sure you will prevent the bad guys from doing illicit activities but also it will affect the innocent people trying to go cashless or cardless with this kind of limit. I can say that if this ever push through we will have a major step backwards when it comes to mass adoption as giving a low limit would also discourage spending for a lot of people.
2042  Other / Meta / Re: [SUGGESTION] Drafts Page on: August 14, 2019, 04:36:39 PM
I myself personally don't review my drafts after 7 days, just think of the conversation thay has passed when you are mastering that one post you were supposed to post 3-4 days ago. If we are talking about OP posts being created then that would be another thing and I think maybe extending another week in this situation would be best. I doubt people even revisit their draft pages drequently I'm pretty sure that they'll rather posts and edit it after rather than perfect it in the draft page.
2043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Weekly Update 08-04-19: Bulls are back in town on: August 14, 2019, 03:47:21 PM
^^ I don't know what factors that convinced investors to sell bitcoin as the market is in red right now.

For a newbie just as little as a 1% drop could make their hands and feet shake and become nervous at that moment because. There confidence ib the market is shrinking day by day everytime it gets close to the market value on where they bought it that ia why even if the market is going down they'll jump as the earlist sign shows up because they don't really believe on the asset that they are holding but rather just see the profit they are expecting. We mostly have non-believers as the first one to likely bail when they see blood in the market.
2044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 14, 2019, 02:10:43 PM
Personally, I didn't like the way they played football last season. But this is just my personal opinion of course. It depends on the kind of football everyone likes to see.
Juventus doesn't care what people want to see. Maybe that philosophy will change a bit now with Sarri as a coach but throughout history Juventus has always believed in only one motto: "Winning isn't important, it is the only thing that matters!" - Giampiero Boniperti
Well that's true even if you didn't like how they play what matters the most is they still finished at the top of the league table in Serie A. They also showed a good performance in the Champions League. Critics like you are normal to show up once in a while but Juventus won't listen to you as they already have a system that is working for them. Let see if Sarri could make a difference on how they play and maybe after a few games this season you might start to like on how they are playing.
2045  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-06] Venezuela Bitcoin Trading Hits New Highs Amid US Embargo on: August 13, 2019, 08:58:37 PM
@timerland. Agreed. However, I reckon the government of Venezuela and others might only be tolerating it because they do not have the laws and the means to enforce regulations. The moment they do figure it out, let us hope adoption gas spread deep and wide and it would be too late for them hehehe.
For sure mate. They don't have enough power to be able to take away BTC, could you imagine if they tried to tax or even ban it? The people of Venezuela would go crazy.

If their economy ever recovers and they would be able to effectively use fiat for everything, I'd like to see what they'd do related to cryptocurrency. If the government is smart and willing to, they could become one of the most accepting countries for cryptocurrency, and turn their nation around with cryptocurrencies. We'd be able to see full adoption because most of the people there already use BTC anyway.

I really don't want to see them shoot BTC in the foot for their own Petro coin to do well, there's definitely room for both of the cryptocurrencies and a crypto-friendly Venezeual would be great to see.

I highly doubt that they would plan regulating any time soon as they would only just affect their economy badly just when some of their citizens have found a safe haven from their money. Only doing so would just put their position on a more bad place when they are personally killing their economy. The Venezuelan government must take advantage of this and accept the fact that the Bolivar won't be the preferred choice of their citizens. Another thing to point out is Venezuela is also accepting foreign fiat currency as legal tender in their country to somehow mitigate the inflation happening from their own currency so it's likely that they will just go pass through this and see it not as a concern for now.
2046  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Technical Analysis Bullshit or Not? on: August 13, 2019, 08:06:50 PM
for short term techanical analysis works well than fundamental analysis and for longterm fundamental works good than technical

But how can you even use fundamental analysis in the crypto market in the first place when there is very little to none indicators for it. That is why a lot of economists are against or have negative comments on BTC because of it having really no fair-value and all of it's price is determined by purely supply and demand in the market. We literally only have mostly technical analysis and news to predict both the short term and long term prices of Bitcoin and we really have no choice after that. I wouldn't also advice using TA in long term predictions since the market shifts fast and makes your prediction more inaccurate so you always need to adjust.
2047  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I need a list of KYC service providers. on: August 13, 2019, 07:33:56 PM
I can vouch for Refinitiv since they recently acquired Thomson-Reuter's business in the Philippines and is doing a big move in the financial information industry. But knowing that they are partnered with Binance only says that there is big money involved and I don't think it will be fit budget wise for a startup company like what the OP is trying to launch. If they do entertain their partnership offer I don't see any deals happening with all the background checks they will be doing for the startup exchange, it's like asking for the king to allow peasants benefit more with the land.
2048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What The USA and Major Country Truly Have Planned Against Bitcoin on: August 13, 2019, 07:01:54 PM
Not unless I started to see Electrum, Ledger Nano, and Trezor being shutdown and only wallet businesses exists I won't believe your theory simply because I don't see any developments that leads to your theory. You might just think that way because we are seeing a lot of news recently regarding regulations from both local and internationally what makes it worst is how our news media outlets try to stir the news and makes it look bad on our side. My advice is for you not to listen to them straight away, with all their years of producing news most of what they are sharing didn't even happen until now, they just want to create bad news more often as it travels faster compared to good news.
2049  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the benefits of bitcoin to my country (Nigeria) economy?. on: August 13, 2019, 06:11:28 PM
Just think of it this way. If the crypto market is successful in your country in terms of your citizens earning then new money is coming in from your country. The effect is it will improve both micro and macroeconomics depending on how much are your citizens are earning with Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies. Aside from that if there is a huge demand for cryptos in your country it will attract a lot of crypto related businesses and also blockchain related businesses from ICOs being promoted locally and to blockchain companies hiring new employees all of which will try to improve your economy.
2050  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Calculation of Taxes using FIFO (Coinbase, Bittrex & Binance) on: August 12, 2019, 08:57:40 PM
It's either the software is totally wrong or you have inputted all the data incorrectly that far away from your true losses only shows that there is something wrong with your calculations. My advise is for you to keep track or retrace again for your short-term or long-term gains in all of your transaction if there is any and then subtract every losing trade you have for you to come up with a much more realistic number. Also keep in mind that the 25,000$ is not mainly being put in to what you buy, crypto exchanges also deduct several fees from you everytime you trade so you must also put it in your calculation.
2051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to buy crypto with a card? on: August 12, 2019, 08:09:34 PM
You can buy Bitcoin with your credit card and mostly the ones offering it will accept the payments right away. I think the problem you should focus on is the bank that is handling your credit card on. I have been seeing news and reports that some banks both in US and internationally declines the transaction if the credit purchase involves the buying of cryptocurrencies, they simply label it as risky to their businesses and won't allow such kind of investment purchase on their part. So I would do my research if my bank allows the buying of cryptocurrencies via credit.
2052  Economy / Speculation / Re: NO-DEAL BREXIT 'WILL SEE CRYPTOCURRENCY VALUE HIT RECORD HIGH on: August 12, 2019, 06:59:54 PM
Are they somehow expecting that the British people will shift to crypto investments as soon as they see that the British pounds falling in value prediction comes to a reality? I don't think so the price that is expected to fall involves a fiat currency and is more of a news related to foreign exchange rather than the crypto industry itself. I have remembered that the first time Britain has announced Brexit the British pounds are falling and a lot of forex traders took advantage of it meanwhile the crypto market at that time was just consolidating and there is really no noise involving Brexit affecting the market that time.
2053  Economy / Reputation / Re: Possiblity of hacked account now requesting to sell account. on: August 12, 2019, 06:25:47 PM
One thing that I have seen is that he started a signature and design creation thread back in 2017, so it might be the same person too. He bumped it recently so I'm still uncertain if I should tag him or not.

The tagged can be viewed from two angles, first the user should prove it isn't a hacked account. Secondly, like every other user that have tried selling an account on the forum which is deem to be an untrustworthy act, he deserves a tagged.

As you can see from my explanation above, he tried covering up the evidence which means he was aware of the repercussion of sales of account. Now if i wasn't smart enough to archive the thread, i would had been the victim since I won't have been able to defend my feedback.

I haven't concluded, it say "possibility" right there on the thread's title. The tagged is simply a warning.

I'm leaning more towards the account being hacked rather than the user selling his own account with it, because most often than not people selling their accounts would just create a newbie account to post the availability of their main account so their "product" isn't being risked on having a red tag. Only a hacker would make this mistake by posting the availability of the account with a post on the account itself. There's really no sense for a sr. member really to make a mistake like this not unless the account questioned is owned by a new person beforehand.
2054  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-07] Bitcoin Will Be In ‘A Lot of Hedge Fund Portfolios’: Investment CEO on: August 12, 2019, 05:36:50 PM
I wouldn't really call it a hedge fund but a whale group depending on how much fund they will be managing in. If big money from the financial industry will be coming in let's not expect them to hodl Bitcoin but to quickly acquire and dispose it quickly as possible, it will be a fast entry and exit type of play and not a buy and hold strategy for them. They will only use the big fund they have in order to influence the prices and once they reach the target price they want they will quickly exit the market. It would be a repeating cycle for them in order to maximize profit without risking their money due to hodling.
2055  Other / Meta / Re: History Of Bitcoin & Bitcointalk Infographic [Long Gif Inside] on: August 11, 2019, 09:28:31 PM
Surprised that neither Sirius and Cøbra wan't mentioned in the infographic especially they played an important role in making Bitcointalk and running it smoothly possible. Sirius co-founded Bitcointalk together with Satoshi Nakamoto and Cøbra is still the domain administrator of Bitcointalk and he still has the complete control over it. Also Sirius is also one of the few members here who we know his true identity which is [ur=https://twitter.com/marttimalmi?lang=enl]Martti Malmi[/url]
2056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 11, 2019, 08:40:11 PM
The next week will be a huge week for Juventus, The will sell a lot of players.

Unlikely that they will sell all the players you have mentioned because they will just be selling all of them for a bargain if the teams know they are offloading that much. Their most likely move is to loan out players that don't currently fit in their roster which they mostly do like what they have done to Higuain in the pass so at least they have  a chance that the player can still maintain it's value for another team. Juventus' management is really smart and they don't rush decisions just like that only because they have 25+ players.
2057  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I lost my confidence... And fought to get it back. on: August 11, 2019, 05:37:15 PM
Emotional breakdown for newbies is a common occurrence especially the ones who have entered the markets with literally no experience in trading whatsoever, they will always expect that the money after buying will be an automatic profit. Luckily the OP is one of those newbies that can realize mistakes and try to fix it. The first part of it is of course admitting their own mistakes where newbies mostly fail as they always blame the market of Bitcoin in particular for their loss, they don't see their own carelessness and unpreparedness on entering the market.
2058  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Api Trading Projects on: August 11, 2019, 04:56:07 PM
I won't try APIs for my trades simply because I don't always want to see that my trades are being automated by a program. Simply if you don't have the time to the kind of trading you want your choice is to do a different kind of trading the perfectly suits you. If you think that a bot can handle your trades with 100% profit then think again your success still depends on what you have ordered them to do so. Automated trades don't guarantee success and you don't have much room to have a back up plan if you can't even monitor the prices yourself. Another point to consider is the market is filled with fake APIs just want's to still your money and I don't think I would risk myself on downloading one.
2059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you received Bitcoin from this wallet on: August 11, 2019, 12:35:28 PM
I'm more worried about the legal shit you will go through if the authorities were able to track down the Bitcoin to your address. You might not be involved in the crime but they will always see it as an incriminating evidence, that's how it usually works. And if you think it's a good idea to keep the Bitcoins you randomly receive then think again, it's not yours and the one who send it to you knows your address the last thing you want is to incriminate you more on what you are doing or be in some kind of entrapment operation by a police doing dirty work for the government.
2060  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie/Student investing problems :) (PS: Not asking for your money XD) on: August 08, 2019, 08:29:24 PM
You might be referring too DCA here or dollar cost averaging where you don't really care for the price and just buy and buy on a given period and to tell you honestly it won't work in the crypto market. DCA isn't even a good investment method where you don't value the current price of an asset, it doesn't really maximize your capital because you don't care about the fluctuations happening. Two things are hurting here and one is your earning potential and two is the margin of safety you are stretching because of the random prices you are buying BTC. If I were you I'll just wait for the perfect opportunity where I can spend everything I save on a perfect bottomed out price.
