2141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC dumps on high inflation report.. on: September 15, 2022, 06:29:02 AM
I am really curious why this is happening, the dumps when the inflation report is released, maybe there are just some panic sellers who are FOMOd because of the report.

It's very simple: with the report, even more aggressive rate hikes are expected.

Some are already talking about 9%:

'Investor Mark Mobius says US interest rates could peak at 9% if inflation keeps rising. "So you have 8*% CPI. That means you have to have 9% interest rates," said Mobius, who co-founded Mobius Capital Partners after spending more than three decades at Franklin Templeton Investments.'

Mobius Sees Fed Rates as High as 9% If CPI Keeps Rising

Even without reaching that level, the most likely scenario is that rates will continue to rise, which means less money in circulation and people will have less money to invest. Investors are therefore anticipating events: they see a pessimistic scenario for financial assets and act accordingly. The news affected everything. Markets in general, not just bitcoin, for this very reason.

The inflation is sticky in the U.S., therefore the Fed might have no other choice but take a path for a "hard landing". Interest rates may be raised to levels unexpected, more tightening by selling back U.S. treasuries, and on the government side, more taxes to get more money/liquidity out of circulation. We will not like it, and it will put more tension on the market, and that might make it crash again. BUT save what you can save today, it will be another golden opportunity to Buy the DIP, and HODL.
2142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC dumps on high inflation report.. on: September 14, 2022, 12:10:50 PM
Important report comes out that inflation is pretty bad (USD)..

Bitcoin dumps off a cliff..

This is the exact opposite of what Bitcoin is supposed to do..

Has Bitcoin strayed too far from its purpose?

It's not actually inflation that's causing Bitcoin's decrease/fall in price. It's the actions of the FED against inflation which is causing a recession. The FED is tightening and raising rates, pulling out liquidity from the economy, which lowers demand and causes a bear market.

It may be a mistake, my mistake, to say that Bitcoin is a financial hedge against inflation. Because it might not be financial. The more I understand, I believe Bitcoin is a hedge against the cabal behind the FED. If they break the current financial system with all their policies and manipulation, Bitcoin will remain and keep chugging along producing block after block.
2143  Economy / Gambling / Re: Punt.com 🦵💸 | Crypto's Finest Casino | 🚀 🎰 🎲 🔥 on: September 14, 2022, 08:26:07 AM
To celebrate the launch of Punt.com, we are currently offering 0% Commission on our Provably Fair Player vs. Player Dice Duels! This is completely unprecedented. There is no code needed to take part. Enjoy!  Smiley

-Punt Management

This might be a good concept, this Dice Duel idea of yours. You could also probably have a Dice Duel tournament for the Bitcointalk gambling community as a celebration of your first month in the forum.

What other dice games does your site have? Does it have Craps by Evolution. I believe Craps from Evolution is the best of all from a UI/UX viewpoint. Please have it and spread the good word of Craps. Someday maybe we plebs can play together in a Craps tournament. It's a very good dice game that requires the user to use different betting strategies.

1mbtc weekly bonus is equivalent to my rakeback at other casinos so for me this is enough
but what about high rollers? surely they want rakeback they won't expect 1mbtc every week
for this reason in the future Blackjack.fun should consider the rakeback feature.

Weekly wagering contest is not bad since the final pot to be divided between players is 0.4 btc ! But it's seriously hard to achieve a decent win here since there are players wagering heavy amounts each week Sad
by the way such initiative are admirable and I like a lot that admin is keeping changing this revenue trying to find the right alchimia Wink that could fit with business & player fun !

I believe it was quite achievable for those people who have enough amount of capital to play, actually farm, the games for longer periods of hours a day, then just breaking even. But it could be currently harder after BlackJack.fun removed some games allowed in the wagering contest.

Plus is BlackJack.fun still blocking withdrawals without KYC? I want to play, but I don't want to KYC for a small amount. I deposit $50.00, lose some to $20.00, hot-headed because of a $30.00 loss, then I decide to withdraw before I lose the remaining balance. Haha.
2145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Going 3x this month for swing trading worth it? on: September 14, 2022, 05:13:16 AM
For this month? I believe not, unless there's a Black Swan.

What could that Black Swan possibly be? Perhaps something like Russia using nuclear weapons on Ukraine, starting a European War.

You can think war could lead to the fall of bitcoin, but what if it leads to the rise of bitcoin, people can see bitcoin an alternative to bank. Although, I do not know what can during during war, but if mining is not affected, possibly the price if bitcoin may rise.

Debatable, because European War with a possbility of nuclear weapons use would bring uncertainty to the markets, ALL markets including Bitcoin. If there was a pleb who truly believes that Bitcoin would not be affected by inflation, it's me, but I was wrong. Inflation brought uncertainty and bearishness towards the future.

Risking $1,000 to win $750? If you don't need your $1,000 for anything else, Buy and HODL. The next Bull Cycle will print like the Bull Cycle during 2015 - 2017. Remember this post.

This is not about holding discussion. Because you are a day trader, does not mean you are not a swing traders. Also because you are a swing trader, that does not mean you are not holding or planing to hold. See this as a speculation about bitcoin price in September. We all know that all-time-high would one day come. Bull run by 2024 is coming, but this is not what this thread is all about.

I was merely suggesting something for OP, ser. Agree or disagree, take it or leave it.
2146  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 13, 2022, 10:27:51 AM
The price is guaranteed to go back under $20k before the end of the month. Easiest poll of my life.

It will? WHEN? That would be another golden opportunity for us plebs to Buy the DIP, and HODL like it was Christmas. It's not everyone who has unlimited fiat, and who can DCA consistently. We plebs need to be more efficient with our capital. Plus the mental stress to HODL a loss is not for everyone. Cool
2147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Going 3x this month for swing trading worth it? on: September 12, 2022, 10:47:24 AM
Future trading is extremely risky.

This is just a trading discussion and not an advice for anyone to follow. If following it, use the amount of money you can afford to lose. But I think this could be profitable.

Assuming bitcoin is at $20000
Going 3x leverage in long position
That means the iquidation price would be around $14000

Noticing a strong support at $20000, the market is not that going dip further, but we have just entered into the month of September, we do not know what the price of bitcoin could be at some point in the days to come before the end of this month.

Assuming using $1000 for swing trading, but leverage 3x in long position, the liquidation price would be around $14000. Can bitcoin dip down below $14000?

For this month? I believe not, unless there's a Black Swan.

What could that Black Swan possibly be? Perhaps something like Russia using nuclear weapons on Ukraine, starting a European War.

What could be the maximum bitcoin price this month? I am thinking bitcoin could go up to $25000 again this month. What do you think

$28,000. It's SURGE-SEPTEMBER ser. Cool

Quote

The result, if bitcoin reach $25000, from $20000. if using $1000 as trading fund.
If bitcoin increased to $21000, the profit would be around $150
At $22000; the profit of $300
At $23000; the profit of $450
At $24000; the profit of $600
At $25000; the profit of $750

But if it is the other way, so it is the unrealized loss until liquidation at around $14000.

Risking $1,000 to win $750? If you don't need your $1,000 for anything else, Buy and HODL. The next Bull Cycle will print like the Bull Cycle during 2015 - 2017. Remember this post.
2148  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: September 12, 2022, 10:31:25 AM
You're right, there are no "guarantees", but nopara73 also can't just wait for a government agency to sanction WasabiWallet, and have the police come to his home and arrest him. He accepted the trade-off to keep Wasabi's pool "untainted", and probably hope that he doesn't get arrested.

I feel like you are trying to justify the wrongdoings of the Wasabi team

Ser, you do know that Wasabi's coordinator is CENTRALIZED, right? We have the right to criticize, and have our own personal opinions about, but the point is it's a centralized service that decided to accept the trade-off.

If ChipMixer, a centralized service, also decided to accept the trade-off, it would personally be OK for me, because I accept that being a centralized service, they have their own right to decide which path to take the service to the future.

Quote

Quote
But he only had two paths, shut Wasabi down, or block tainted outputs. He chose to block tainted outputs.

He could have handed over the project to someone else (it is open source after all) who is not under the same possible threat so that they could continue the project. Or at the very least they could introduce more decentralized option into the project and most importantly be clear about the anti-privacy things their own coordinator server is doing.
Guess what, if they did that they would have stopped making money!!!

He could have.

Other  developers could also fork the coordinator without the filter.
2149  Economy / Economics / Re: Germans are looking to firewood for energy as natural gas prices soar on: September 12, 2022, 05:47:06 AM
Everyone calm down, everything will stabilize. And oil and gas started a downward trend!

Dynamics of natural gas prices at the TTF gas hub:

I believe it won't if Russia doesn't stop. The cause of all the destabilization is the effect of Russia's war against Ukraine, and the U.S.A's reaction with the help of Germany and other European countries. The next action by the U.S. and its allies to await for is if they declare a broad embargo on Russian oil, gas, and other energy exports. If you read history, what started World War II was an embargo by the U.S. on German Oil.

The fact is that nothing depends on Russia. Believe me, what Russia is doing now is premortal convulsions. Russia has chosen for itself the path of an outcast country, this is half the trouble. But she is an international terrorist, and she will not be forgiven for this ... Remember "Greater Germany. Great Reich" ... But Russia is a pathetic parody of Germany of that period. The "Second Army of the World" is now running with tantrums and crap pants, throwing equipment, documents, wounded and killed, from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There was complete confusion at the headquarters, there was no army left as such, capable. And a large territory, 100 million bodies degraded and damaged by total false propaganda, the weapons of the last century - if not greatness, this is a collapse ...

That's simply not true. Russia is one of the largest exporters of Oil and Natural Gas. It's also one of the major exporters of industrial metals, and fertilizers. That's why the current inflation we're experiencing is unique because it's both caused by the demand side and the supply side.

Quote

PS Also, I do not exclude that in the coming days, weeks, months, there will be an internal coup, I do not exclude that the military, the generals. It is their idiot Putin and his girlfriend Patrushev who are trying to make them guilty for the failure of the "special operation". And the generals will be glad that Russia is cut into small pieces, and they are put in these pieces as "temporarily exercising power." They will introduce external control, for example, the USA / Britain / Ukraine. And all the resources of "great Russia" will go to pay reparations, and will cost a penny.

What's your estimate of an internal coup happening in the coming days/weeks/months?

Plus who in Bitcointalk is actually living in Russia right now? Is there support for Putin, or are the people becoming discontented by the economic situation?
2150  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN IS NOT A STORE OF VALUE on: September 12, 2022, 05:19:09 AM
_without gold and silver, all electronic equipment wouldn't exist = bitcoin would not exist. Computers, phones, tv's, etc ALL require silver and gold to be manufactured.
I disagree with you. It is not all electronic equipment are made up of silver or gold. I do not think anyone has seen bitcoin physically except the digital copy. For that, bitcoin would have existed without those two liquidity. I have seen a TV that made up of wood, although the screen, the panel and cables are made of other materials, probably those parts of the equipment we're manufacturered by silver and gold but not sure. Bitcoin, silver and gold all these liquidities have their value before human so if you compare them you might waste your time. All have their own value in life. Value is added to bitcoin when the peer to peer demand is very high and at that process the price of bitcoin will be very high therefore at point of the trading the price of bitcoin will be high for the benefit of all. Though everyone thinks different way on bitcoin. As it is noe, bitcoin has more values among the three things I mentioned..

He was merely making a debate that a commodity's utility as a value proposition is what's giving it its value, therefore making it an ideal Store of Value. Bitcoin has its own value proposition too. Censorship-resistance. It's what's giving it it's utility as an ideal Store of Value for the internet. Bitcoin as a Store of Value has its pros and it's better than their Gold, their Silver, or their other valuable metals like Platinum as an unseizable form of money.

2152  Other / Politics & Society / Re: High inflation is causing GLOBAL protests on: September 11, 2022, 08:32:01 AM
Inflation is certainly a serious problem in the economy widely for the country, many countries that become bankrupt and the initial sign is inflation, the latest is Sri Lanka, inflation is uncontrolled and makes the purchasing power significant so as to make production and distribution does not work.

There some protests starting in Bangladesh as well, and it's going to spread wider and further to the other regions of Asia. If in developed regions, like Singapore there are protests, that translates that there's something extraordinary happening in the world. I believe as a safety measure, it's a good suggestion to buy the Bitcoin DIPs, and HODL.

Plus if many of you don't know the severity of inflation in Europe,

2153  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 10, 2022, 10:50:55 AM
I voted $25,000. Bitcoin will SURGE. It's SURGE-SEPTEMBER my dear fellow plebs!

Judging on Btc price action since the huge dip, it looks like Btc did not hit $25k nor drop below $15k after that.
So, I have not seen any relevant new that would potentially create a Bitcoin run. I believe we still continue to see Btc price going back and forth around $21k - $17k or 18k. Just like what we usually see these days.
On the brighter side even if Btc falls $15k or below, that will be a huge opportunity for everyone to accumulate though.

I believe it might take more time before we can purchase Bitcoin below $20,000 again. This month, Bitcoin will probably have one of its best positive months for the current bear market cycle. Those people who sold just gave their precious Bitcoin away to the whalecumulators and the billionaires. Hahaha. Or, if they bought back after they sold upon learning their mistake, they are holding less Bitcoin.

Well I think that active players should receive some bonus while playing and this Is the reason I think hourly bonus should be bigger (now its just 0.20 mbtc to be divided ...)
I think admin has already evaluate various scenarios so lets See whats next Wink

Agree to this since there’s no rakeback or cashback in the casino besides the 1mbtc per week reward for wagering consecutively for 7 days. I’m sucks on free spin so I preferred too those bigger rewards on tournaments. Right now the reward is so low despite you bet huge amount unlike before that you can earn a lot by just wagering 1 to 5mbtc per hour. They remove already the farming using draw bet then maybe it’s time now to increase once again those rewards.

It will never return, I believe, and that's understandable. Because if the casino is spending more, per farmer, than they earn, then that would mean that they would actually be earning less at any given period of time. It wasn't their intention for their cashback system to be a way for players to farm/profit against the casino, which many players might have found the right strategy and turned some to farmers.
2155  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: September 10, 2022, 06:57:14 AM
Poker table against a real player on "Evolution" games.

I want these on Evolution Games, why on Evolution? because they really have a good layout for the game played and really responsive even with a small internet connection. Most of the provider is always provided against the house.

It would be nice If we see against players/users.

That's true ser! I don't play many casino games, and I'm not really much of a gambler, but the best versions of BlackJack and Craps games that I have played are from Evolution, especially the "First Person" versions. I tried the Craps tables from Nucleus, but it was poorly designed, the animation and the sound wasn't very good, and playing the game didn't give me a very good experience from UX/UI standpoint.
2156  Economy / Economics / Re: Germans are looking to firewood for energy as natural gas prices soar on: September 10, 2022, 06:34:38 AM
A friend also told me that there was also an announcement that traffic lights would also go through a rotational black out? This winter, the joke about turning off Christmas lights as a means to stop the wasteful use of electricity, and as my favorite debate against "wasteful POW electricity usage", is going to become true.

EU no doubt uses this to push their "consume less energy" agenda. It's even weirder in that sense that many European countries have now lowered energy taxes or are even subsidizing energy for companies. High prices are a great way to reduce energy consumption, but also a great way to make voters unhappy. They must be torn between their ideals and their popularity Cheesy

I believe the probable consequences from the decisions that they're going to make from the current energy crisis will be more than just "for the votes" for the next election. If an equilibrium/balance isn't found, it could put their countries into a situation of chaos, and possibly anarchy.

I believe for the first time in Bitcoin's existence, we will see the total mining/hashing power scale down.

Unlikely. Not much hashing happens in areas with high power prices.

That's the point! There's going to be higher power prices everywhere during the winter.
2157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many numbers can you roll in dice? (ignoring the decimals?) on: September 09, 2022, 11:32:34 AM
Dice is my favourite and majority of my spending is now on Dice. In the past it was on sports betting. I used to prefer mostly x2, but when this doesn't work I prefer using the martingale strategy. Quite often used to try the roll over 99.99 looking for x9900. I've hit this when playing with zero betting amount.
As for me, I still always prefer sport betting, especially the one I know most which is football betting, I prefer it because it offers the opportunity to analyze, but still it is a game of luck because anything can happen, a club you think would win may lose, and a club you think would lose may win.

What I have known about virtual games like dice is that it is more of game of luck, I have seen the martingale strategy to be useful, by just starting to gamble with a very low amount of money, double the money or increase it in certain percentage as you continue to bet if losing, even if the bet does not hit in the first place is not bad at all as you double the money, so if the bet later hit then you have better profit, but I have preferred this strategy only on games that the profit : loss are both 50:50.

Sports betting is for the scholars. Dice is for the lazy who don't like to read books. Both can be very profitable depending on the player.

Martingale however is the biggest scam ever. It is not useful for anything. You are basically doubling down on your losses and with every round you risk more and more while your potential gains are going less and less.

In the end, if the player has a good information about the teams/leagues he is wagering on, then he should bet on sports. If the player has no information at all, then his best chance is playing luck based games.

The only form of gambling that can be "profitable" is the form of gambling that gives you the opportunity to bet/add money to the pot if the odds are in your favor, and the ability to decrease the money if they are not. I believe most of the dice games have a consistent house edge, which will make you mathematically the long term loser.

OP, it's a odds chart from craps. I don't know if it can help,

2158  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: September 09, 2022, 09:29:58 AM
Did you BUY the DIP my dear fellow plebs? Congratulations if you did buy, because there were many people who probably SOLD the DIP expecting Bitcoin to crash lower, probably to "$12,000", https://twitter.com/eliant_capital/status/1567202636302098432

 Cool

I'm not claiming that that was the last, and the lowest DIP of the current bear market cycle because NO ONE knows, but it's personally more mentally relaxing to buy the DIP of $19,000 than if I bought Bitcoin at $39,000.

It's probably another Golden Opportunity to buy Bitcoin if you have some extra savings that you can use for a long term HODL. In two years, I believe we would see Bitcoin double from its current price. Place your bids, it's a good day to buy the DIP. This is not financial advice, merely a suggestion from a fellow pleb.

Cool
2159  Economy / Economics / Re: Germans are looking to firewood for energy as natural gas prices soar on: September 09, 2022, 08:21:32 AM
Meanwhile, in Germany, the first case of readjustment due to the energy crisis has taken place. Large toilet paper maker Hackle is trying to avoid bankruptcy. The star of the pandemic turned out to be too energy-intensive and could not withstand the rapid growth of utility tariffs. At this rate in Germany, it will soon be a problem not only to take a hot shower, but also to wipe your ass. Grin

2160  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: September 09, 2022, 06:23:38 AM
If at all to talk about what the OP is asking, then I would like to cancel that now, in general, the global trend is towards accelerating people's actions. Even conversational speech is accelerated. And this circumstance dictates the direction of development of online gambling too. So in general it is necessary to gradually reduce the number of games with a long winning process, replacing them with games with instant or quick results. Games of the type such as slot machines or dice, heads and tails, and so on. And accordingly diversify the options for instant wins.
I think this direction of development of online casinos is correct.

I believe not. It would actually make the casinos lose their users over the longer period of the casino's existence. Their users would either be getting bored faster, causing casinos to lose engagement more quickly because the games are "simple", OR their users would lose their money faster, causing them to leave more quickly too.

"Faster" isn't always the best. What casinos should do is give their users more games of engagement, and strategy.
