Reading as we speak: I theorised an NXT asset as the Hedges in the first place -- second place, after trials -- but was unsure how the community would react to the suggestion of bringing a POS coin into the fold.

m

Nobody really knows where this whole crypto thing is going. But I do know that we have a very unique asset in Uno.

If someone wants to setup up NXT hedges for Uno, or a Uno asset on Counterparty, I think it would be a very interesting experiment. I'd love to learn from it.  I think as a community we should understand these things and be able to leverage Uno's value across these decentralized exchanges.

@balu2 that's an interesting idea.  To dip our toe in the water, does anyone have any experience creating NXT asset classes? Perhaps we could tie up some Un in that manner and get Un listed on an NXT asset exchange.

130 uno for 1 btc is cheap uno, no matter what the price of bitcoin is.

You just described UNO - that's great!

charly asked what's special about it.
haha
I see. He wanted to know QCN

Special about QCN is its very, very low marketcap and still active community and running chain. If it doesn't die now it'll survive and make good bank Wink
It's not as rare as uno but still has a good reward-shedule. I am not putting a lot of money in it but for a little gamble, why not? I think it's under value compared with the rest of the market.

Don't let yourself be too distracted by that  Cheesy
18.4 million coins, 50% will be emitted in 6 years. They are 6 months old, so lots of coins yet to come, whereas Un has largely made it through the emission phase. I wish them well, but I don't see them as very rare, or comparable in inflation to Un for probably the next six years. I also like mining with cheap asics; Cpu mining just ticks me off. Smiley

bitcoin is such an epic pump and dump right now. Just glad i did not sell any uno for that.  Roll Eyes

Look at okcoin. They pumped it and now they dump it. Stamp is to follow.

Yes, we can't do much about pumpers, just anticipate them.

If btc comes down against USD it will be bullish for Uno. I have fiat waiting to enter btc > uno, but I'm not going to buy btc on this pump.

The last btc swoon was great for accumulating Uno. Buy Uno with new fiat on the Btc dips, hold Uno on the Btc pumps. That's how turtles climb stairs.

Guys, do you know if anybody has managed to get their UNOs from MintGox? Undecided
Not lately, as far as I know. Smaller withdraws were successful initially, but larger ones stuck.

Here's a known Uno wallet at MintPal that I'm watching for movement.

Bittrex now needs Uno average daily trade volume for the last 7 days to exceed 0.2 BTC.

Uno is not in danger of de-listing, but even so -- let's not forget to nurture UNO's markets a bit and keep them viable.
I try to spread my buys around whenever it's possible.

Bittrex is has been good place to trade for me. Lots of potential there.

Want to trade Uno/Usd?  Bleutrade now has a USD market and there are both buy/sell orders out there.
Comkort exchange has also started a USD market and is trying to get it off the ground.
Allcrypt has Doge/Ltc/Naut/Btc markets for Uno. Don't forget to check there for deals.

Market cap took a nice little hop today thanks to the price of Btc, and because someone bought up that little sell wall on Cryptsy bringing Uno back up to .008.

It was nice to see an accumulation opportunity. I only had enough loose btc for 100 of that Uno sell wall. Wish I could have bought it all. Kudos to whoever got the best of it.

@Mike18feb, good to see you in the Uno forum. Welcome.

@vector.iso there's no Chinese thread I'm aware of. I'd love to find a Uno enthusiast who speaks Chinese and could nurture it.

I can remember recent messages here and tweets dumping on BW for not doing more to promote Uno.
Weren't some people upset that he called the last big rise a "pump?"

Interesting how that worked out.

I sense that people want to have the discussion anyway. It should be an unmoderated discussion.

Lets talk about it here, instead of the main thread:

Should Bryce Weiner Remain a Dev of UNO?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=854092.new#new

2177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Should Bryce Weiner remain a dev of UNO? on: November 10, 2014, 10:27:39 PM
I think he should. But I like to keep an open mind.

With Uno, the dev is not the coin. Uno is a community. I can remember a time when Uno had no dev, but the community kept it alive anyway.

Uno is now in it's 5th month of steadily rising prices, hanging around #40 on CMC and 550k cap.  It sure isn't because Bryce ever pumped Uno. In fact, some of us thought he should do more to promote Uno. Last month he called-out what he thought was a Uno pump and pissed off some long-time community members when a small selloff ensued. Still, Uno keeps climbing back, even with Bryce as dev. He has done a lot for Uno, but nobody can claim he is pumping it.

All that said, convince me that there's no place for BW in Uno, which is an open source piece of software.

Convince me he did something evil to Uno (I really don't give a shit about Naut, Razor or any other BW coin. They are not Uno, and not the subject), that the marketcap would be higher without him. Tell me how he's abused his trust as a Uno developer.

Prove that investors are "Shying away," because of BW, or just make a reasonable case for it.  Show me that the marketcap would be higher without him. Sure didn't work that way for Razor.

I'd like to hear what you think.

@Edgar still hoping there's a recovery tool that will work for you!

Thx bud!

its been a mental internal rollercoaster of shock, fear, hope, excitement & disappointment.. waves and waves of it for days.

but the euphoria is waning, reality is setting in and im feeling somewhat defeated by myself/windows

3,801 UNO

2,000 LTC

30,000 IXC

I'm so bummed for you, Edgar.  I still hold out hope that there is a person / company / tool out there somewhere that can help. Even recovering part of the private key from a file fragment could hold some possibilities.

Interestingly, you may posses the first UNO Rai stone. There's no doubt to any of us  that the wallet is yours.

Recuva will be my next stop, still scouring lost volume info in sierra phoenix...

right-click + copy is what causes the image i posted just now.

in my roaming folder it says ALL folders are empty and corrupt!

has anyone ever attempted microsoft windows scan & fix?

i assume this is just chkdsk.. but am now getting to the point of exhaustion

scan and fix could result in the appdata/roaming being deleted - at least that was what i had experienced last time.
Good luck with this.

THIS is what i think has happened with chkdsk...

but i will keep at it..

i DID manage to 'recover' 30,000 NXT (1.x BTC) but i cant really take credit for that, the wallet is different from any other and all you need is your password which i found with ease.

UNO, IXC & LTC are proving a bit more of a ballache.

I can SEE them, but so far cant open or copy 'em

I'm glad for your NXT.
Pls make a clone image of your drive so you have a baseline and can start over if necessary.

Have you tried Recuva?  http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download/portable

You may now be in the realm of professional recovery services.
