2161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when the market is downtrend? on: June 05, 2022, 10:34:28 AM
It depends a bit on how the bear market looks like for me. If there is a big crash and prices drop quickly than it hurts intitally, but very quickly I realise that it's a good opportunity now to buy at thes low levels. Like you said it's not really a bad feeling but rather a feeling of a new beginning. Only looking at old positions which are deep red is not healthy, we should rather look at the opportunities ahead of us, even if it takes some time to get there. What is more hurtful to me is the situation we are in right now. It seems like a bear market, but it feels more like a side wars trend. Prices are fluctuating heavily but but really much in one direction. There is no clear trend, up or down.
2162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Old Casino Keep Up Without Support Here In Bitcointalk Or Signature Campaign on: June 05, 2022, 10:16:45 AM
Can an old casino that's very active here in Bitcointalk, through support, forum advertising, and signature campaign, suddenly pull the plug and stop doing all these things can still keep and still maintain its position in the market.

I think yes, an old casino which has been very active here on the forum should have a large number of regular customers. All these older customers will not disappear just because the casino is cutting down on its advertising. The only change I would expect to see is a dropping number of new customers to join the casino. I think when it comes to advertising budgets the casinos can run a case study to see how many new customers they get per week with various advertising channels. In the end it's a cost/benefit analysis to see if it's really worth it. Let's say the casino notices that 80% of their revenues from existing gamblers and most of the new gamblers leave the casino after a few weeks. Then it could much better for the casino to run promotions directly for the older customers. Instead of paying for advertising they could make weekly giveaways for regular customers.
2163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I buy BTC or DCA other coins? on: June 05, 2022, 10:05:05 AM
Since prices are down, I am going to spend some money for shopping. Not a lot, just what I can spend.
Now the question is, should I buy BTC (currently I don't have any BTC) or should I do DCA for ETH, SOL or DOT?

Since you already hold some other coins but no bitcoins yet, I would strongly recommend to buy some BTC. Right now the BTC price is cheap compared to last year. If you can buy BTC below 30,000 USD it's a good deal on my opinion. And BTC as the oldest crypto coin should be part of any crypto portfolio. I am assuming you are looking to build up a long term portfolio and not only want short term gains. For that BTC should definitely be part of your wallet. We don't know which Alt coin will be successful long term, but we know that bitcoins will still be around in the future, it's never a bad investment.
2164  Economy / Economics / Re: Should we embrace a cashless policy?? on: June 04, 2022, 02:50:59 PM
I think a cashless society has a lot of benefits, it makes paying for things much easier and faster. We don't have long queues anymore in the supermarket where people are counting coins or wait for the vendor to change large denominated bills. Our wallets will be much lighter, we could even go so far and remove all the credit cards and only use our mobile phones to pay. As long as everybody has a phone and Internet access than the new payment methods work for everybody. There are also some drawbacks, what if our cell phone breaks down or there is a Internet outage? In remote places cash is still king. Also the elderly generations will struggle in a cashless society. My grandma never pays with card and doesn't even have cell phone. I think cash will lose it's dominate role over time but never disappear fully.
2165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin thrives on education and self-sovereignty on: June 04, 2022, 02:29:42 PM

Knowledge is power in this world and those who refuse to educate themselves or stay gullible will get exploited. Bitcoin thrives on education and self-sovereignty, the more educated and self-sorveign we become, the more bitcoin will thrive, we can all do our part.

I fully agree with you, in today's world it all about knowledge. With the rise of the Internet borders became obsolete, the whole world is connected now. Which makes it so important to educate ourselves. Knowledge became a resource that can be accessed online through online courses or Wikipedia. It's up to us to keep educating ourselves and move forward in the world.   Self-sovereignty is a powerful tool that can make people more interested in politics and reduce corruption in the government. The more people are directly involved with politics and the government, the more transparent things will be. There should be a layer of ordinary people checking what the politicians are doing and verifying everything is okay.
2166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European football now belongs to the highest bidder on: June 04, 2022, 10:17:20 AM
Very interesting analysis of the English and Spanish football league. I am not very familiar with the economics behind football. Its definitely true that English and Spanish teams seem to always be in the finals of champions league, and they have the best players from all around the world. But money is not everything, having the best players in the world is no guaranteed win. The players need to get along with each other and play as a team.
This years champions league final seemed like a huge marketing debacle. The kickoff delayed and seeing fans with tickets getting pepper sprayed was insane. Imagine buying an overpriced ticket and travelling to another country to see your favourite team in the final and then the security won't let you enter. Personally I enjoy watching live football in the stadium with a great atmosphere, but only at a reasonable price. All these big tournaments are just too expensive to get good seats. Otherwise watching in a bar with friends is much more affordable.
Maybe a hardcap on player salaries could help going forward? Somehow the weaker teams should also have a chance to participate more.
2167  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to proper trade in you asset in this market situation? on: June 04, 2022, 09:12:27 AM
Hello everyone.

I'm try to trading professional trading not possible to in this market condition. how safe my asset proper way?

I mean if we see "when is market condition bear" then i would be perfect call to buy top100 crypto. But anyone suggestion in this situation when we fall in bear market.

Really hard to make predictions in the current market environment. Many people call it a bear market right now, but to me it seems more like a sideways trend. One day the bitcoin market drops 5%, next day we see a rise of 5% again. There is a lot of volatility in the market. Usually volatility is a good thing for traders because the spread is higher and there are more opportunities to make a profit. But when there is no clear trend to trade on it becomes very risky. For a professional trader these risks might be manageable, for the average trader I would recommend to take a step back. Better to hold on to your coins and sit this one out. When it comes to trading we don't need to react on every trend. Crypto currencies move in cycle, so even if we missed one bear of bull Market we don't lose. There is always a new opportunity around the corner.
2168  Economy / Economics / Re: A decision to make on: June 04, 2022, 07:54:23 AM
Would you rather buy a house to live in or rent an apartment to invest in bitcoin  Since bitcoin is experiencing bear what decision will you take make use of the season or let it pass.

Right now I would rather go for buying a house or apartment to be honest. The next few month are so uncertain with rising inflation that it would be much better to protect ourselves by owning our own apartment or house. Like this we could atleast fix out monthly living cost and are not affected by inflation so much. Owning property is a good protection against inflation. It also has a benefit that if we use a loan for the purchase that the loan will lose it's value over time, so we are actually benefiting of the inflation. With renting it's not guaranteed our salary will keep rising with the increase in living cost. In case you have enough money, buy the house and take out a loan. Like that you still have some money left to invest in bitcoins on the side. And if you have less money to do both, buy an apartment instead of a house.
2169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The digital ID for Gambling on: June 04, 2022, 07:52:41 AM
Looks like Denmark is trying to take more control of the gambling industry. I am wondering if this is really only protect kids from having access to casinos, or if they want to make sure that no one is cheating the government, and everybody is paying taxes.
When it comes to digital Ids I am very critical, there are two big concerns security and privacy. How easy is it copy such a digital ID and how many people have access to these information? I don't want that everybody knows where I am gambling when there are security risks. All the data will likely be stored on some government servers as well as the casino server. To be honest I would expect the casino to have higher security levels than the government. The other thing is, how easy can people fake such IDs. There are already generators online to make fake IDs. So maybe what was the fake ID 15 years ago to get alcohol and go to a club, will be the fake digital ID in today's time. If there is no missus guaranteed and the security levels are high I would go for it. And maybe the government will make it mandatory for all new casinos, then there is no more way around it.
2170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paid the birth fee using bitcoin at the clinic, by accident. on: June 02, 2022, 08:18:04 AM
Congratulations to the birth of your son, I hope he and your wife are healthy and everything is okay. What a nice story how bitcoin managed to save your day. In my opinion that is all what is it about when it comes to crypto currency, financial independence. You were not limited to some plastic cards, bank machines and ATMs or cash. As long as we gave Internet access we are free with crypto currencies, and of course the place needs to accept bitcoins. To me it seems that your son now already has a strong bond to bitcoins. You paid his birth with bitcoins, that's a story you and your son will always remember. I hope becomes interested in cryptos already at a young age. It's something you two can share together.
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 31, 2022, 11:34:17 AM
I was playing few seconds ago blackjack on blackjack.fun and nearly experience this kind of scenario. I was playing normally and mistakenly clicking the x2 bet instead the 20ubtc chip for increase of bet. I accidentally all-in my balance which is my 1 week salary in the signature campaign.

I got 17 while the dealer face up card  is an Ace so already loss hope and feel bad about my mistake. Luckily the card of the dealer is draw with me and manage to recover my mistake bet. Then I saw this thread and what a coincidence.  Cheesy

That is really scary, at least you got lucky and managed to recover with a draw. Gambling goes so fast that it's almost impossible to correct mistakes. I have been in similar situations myself and know the feeling. One missclick can ruin our whole bankroll, that's why it's so important to play with a clear mind and be concentrated. Being drunk is probably the biggest risk we can take for ourselves when it comes to gambling. My two biggest gambling mistakes happened when being drunk, and I don't realise when it's time to better stop. That's why never drink and gamble at the same time.
2172  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Ruble Surpasses Brazil’s Real as Year’s Best-Performing Currency on: May 31, 2022, 11:19:48 AM

Where does this idea some have that russia's economy is doing poorly come from?

The idea of the Russian economy failing is coming from western economics who base their argumentation on the sanctions the West has against Russia. This is of course a bit misleading because Russia is trading with the whole world. And if countries like Holland or Poland are being cut off from the gas trade its not that Russia will sit on all the excess gas. The whole world needs energy and many countries are still friendly with Russia. If the price is right they will keep buying from them. I think that the initial shock on the Russian economy came from the fear of a war between Nato and Russia. But the Western countries made it clear they are not going to intervene on Ukraine. We will have to watch over the next 12 month how hard the Russian economy is being affected. The currency markets might be the wrong indicator with the high inflation we see right now.
2173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin long-term holders continuing to ‘soak up supply’ around $30K on: May 31, 2022, 11:04:12 AM
I am really surprised about the strong buyers in the market right now. Every time the bitcoin price drops below 30,000 USD there are buyers in the market to push the price back up on the next day. For bitcoins I am getting price notification if the price changes more than 3% in a single day. For every price drop notification I get a notification that the price is rising again, it's really funny. What surprises me the most is that so many big investors said they would buy heavily around the 20,000 USD barrier, but now they must have switched to 30,000 USD. At the current climate I don't see the bitcoin price to drop any lower.
2174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 30, 2022, 12:12:05 PM
as I said, Real Madrid won
my assumptions were correct and although Liverpool were favorites on paper (much stronger) they were not mentally projected to win
He was tired
physically, mentally

while Real Madrid were well rested (thanks to the turnover) happy (Spanish league) and mentally ready to win

I should have listened to you. No idea what happened in the final, to me it seemed like a sure win for Liverpool. Looks like I need to be mir critical towards my predictions. Buy even the bookies looked at Liverpool as the clear favourite. I think none of my close friends who are into sports betting, bet on Real Madrid. And the score of 1-0 was so uneventful, I really expected overtime and to see many goals. I waa so wrong that game. Overall Champions league this year together with Europa league were really bad for me. Lost most of my betting budget and have to start from scratch again. Atleast there is still some time left until the Worldcup this year.
2175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can newbie become rich with trading on: May 30, 2022, 07:19:35 AM
I think it is too risky for a newbie to go big into trading. Sure it sounds nice to be a crypto day trader and make large profits, but those people are professionals. Without any prior knowledge in trading the chances are much higher for you to lose money than to make money. It takes a lot of work and dedication to become successful in trading. Don't get me wrong, if you want to own some crpyto currencies than buy some. Especially big names like BTC or ETH are very good investments, but I would advise against trading them too regularly. It's much better to just buy and hold those coins, you don't need to worry about price movements and transaction costs. My advice for any beginner in the trading world is to first read about it and get some experience before adding a lot of money to your trading account.
2176  Economy / Economics / Re: What can an average JOE do to face the global food crisis? on: May 30, 2022, 07:04:40 AM
Buying and hoarding food is one way to prepare for the big food crisis next year. Right now it seems that the food supply for this year is guaranteed and only in 2023 we will feel shortages. In case of buying canned or dried food that will last for many years and shouldn't be an option. I think there are even companies who offer big boxes of a wide variety of food that cover all the essentials people need to survive on. But most dried and canned food is not as delicious and nutritious as fresh food. It's important to also store herbs and vitamin supplements. One alternative could be if you own a house to start a garden and plant your own food. Planting some potatoes or vegetables could help a lot and will provide some fresh food at a reasonable price. Having a piece of land somewhere outside of the city if we live in an apartment could also be helpful.
2177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you transact in the real world with your bitcoin or digital money? on: May 30, 2022, 06:36:41 AM
How often do you transact in the real world with your bitcoin or digital money?

In the last 1 year I rarely used bitcoins for any online transactions. I am trying to rebuild my crypto portfolio and avoid using cryptos for payment as much as possible. Only for gambling I am using my crytpos, but that doesn't count as real world transactions  Cheesy Among friend we also don't really use cryptos, I know that some of my friends hold them only for long term investment. Back in 2016/2017 I used bitcoins very often for online purchases, like computer hardware. My biggest purchase was a new bicycle after I sold all my CSGO skins for bitcoins. Using digital money seems a bit easier for me, because I can get rid of my fiat money. PayPal is probably the most used for me when doing online purchases. My goal is basically pay with fiat and save with cryptos.
2178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could inheriting Bitcoin from love ones be that difficult? on: May 28, 2022, 04:50:12 PM
In my opinion there are three ways to setup our inheritance for our family. The first one is to do nothing, then the law says who in our family will get our money and other belongings. It's on them to check our documents and hopefully find the keys to our crypto wallets. In such a case it would be advisable to atleast talk with them before and let them know. If our wealth I considerable then we should definitely engage a lawyer to take care of our affairs. In the second scenario a lawyer would make sure the right people get our crypto money and have all the necessary keys. The third option is much cheaper and still has security, we could rent a bank deposit box and collect all the important information in one place. Like that our family will find all the documents and nothing is lost.
2179  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Russia Emerge As The Next Dominant Superpower on: May 28, 2022, 04:42:04 PM
I don't really see how Russia could rise to become the dominate superpower any time soon. The Russia Ukraine war has negative effects on the whole world and in particular on Russia. It's just a matter of time for the sanctions from the West to hit the Russian economy. Global trade is important for any nation, and being left out will have negative implications. One big aspect is the missing access to technologies. Russia will struggle to get access again to all the technologies Western countries use. Another issue is the reduction of energy imports from Russia. It's just a matter of time for European countries to use alternative energy sources. All this will hurt Russia and they will fall behind China and the West in terms of economic growth.
2180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first gas station to accept Bitcoin in my region on: May 28, 2022, 09:28:46 AM
Always nice to see a type of business to accept crypto currencies as payment. Usually I would say that we should consider using the new payment option, to show that there is a lot of demand for crypto payments. Only if the companies realise that customers use cryptos regularly they will be accepted by other companies. The problem however with gas prices is that they are exceptionally high right now. The Russia Ukraine war will keep pushing energy prices upwards, resulting in new levels of inflation. In a high inflation environment I would recommend to use fiat money rather than crypto money. Also bitcoins are really cheap right now, I would not sell mine at 30,000 USD.
