2201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: May 23, 2022, 03:00:47 PM
What the heck happened yesterday? NaVi was the clear favourite to win the PGL Major, how could they lose 2-0 against FaZe? They played so well in the tournament, I really thought they would make it happen. Inferno was Faze's pick and going to overtime was alright, but then losing 16-19 was already really bad by NaVi. To be honest it seemed that the game FaZe vs Spirit in the semi finals seemed much closer than the finals yesterday. Maybe losing the first map is demoralising, as professionals I would expect them to recover from that. Nuke as the second map was NaVi's pick, losing here 16-10 should never had happened. It would be nicer to have a best of 5 game for the finals next time, like this the games are over too fast. Still congratulations to FaZe, especially for robz he is a cool guy and deserves the win. Now I need to sell some skins to try and recover my losses.
2202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Advice for poor people who wanna get some crypto on: May 23, 2022, 11:10:40 AM
Going into crypto currencies to multiply your money is the bad motivation in my opinion. We all have heard the success stories of people becoming rich overnight, but that is just a lucky few. Achieving returns of more than 100% in a short period of time is difficult and risky. The chances are you might even lose money. It's better to look at crypto currencies as a form of diversification out of the fiat financial system. With crypto currencies we are more independent, but it's no guarantee to become rich quickly. Starting out with almost no capital is very difficult because you might take high risk coins in an attempt to get high returns. My recommendation would be to save as much money as possible, maybe if you get money for your birthday, or the Christmas bonus from work. All these funds you could invest into cryptos instead of saving them at the bank. For a beginner I would recommend to stick with the main coins like Bitcoins and ETH. After you made some profits with them you could use that money and start buying some alt coins.
2203  Economy / Economics / Re: World has just ten weeks' worth of wheat left after Ukraine war on: May 23, 2022, 10:44:13 AM
So far I didn't notice any panic buyers yet. Usually in my country people become crazy once the news spread that goods will run out. During the corona pandemic people where fighting for toilet paper. Maybe 10 weeks is enough to find alternative, but I would still expect for some people to stick up heavily on wheat. Given the sanctions the West has on Russia, I don't think they will lift their blockade of Ukrainian wheat exports. The question is now what kind of alternatives there are. The planting and harvesting process can't just be created overnight in a new country, it takes time. Maybe Asian countries could increase their Rice production and we start switching from wheat to rice. In the end this means food prices will rise even more.
2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Session That Lingers On Or Keep Staying On your Mind on: May 23, 2022, 08:24:08 AM
Anyone experienced or suffered from this, whether from winning or from losing where a particular gambling session keeps staying in your mind and you'll having sleeplessness thinking about that particular session over and over again, the same bet keeps repeating over and over again and you keep asking yourself what if you do the opposite.
I'm glad I overcome this and I see to it now that whenever I'm login off to casinos I'm playing I will not think about it whether I lose or win.

I have something like that after a long poker session when I lose very close to the money, or heads up when I become second. It's not really possible for me to turn off my brain after a few intense hands. My mind keeps focusing on things like making the correct read and if I miss played a hand. For me the best thing instead of trying to sleep is to drink a glass of wine and try to clear my mind. Gambling is very fast and we can't always make the correct decision. It helps a lot to tell myself that I played the best to my abilities and should be proud of my winnings. Losing sleep over gambling is a bad sign and it needs to be addressed. One thing could be to stop gambling a few hours before sleeping to get some distance, or like me limit it to 2 times per week.
2205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you saved your bitcoins in multiple wallets? on: May 23, 2022, 08:16:52 AM
Yes it's better to store your crypto coins in multiple wallets than having everything in one wallet. In my opinion the security risk is too high when using only one wallet. It also depends on the size of your wallet, if you only hold a few hundred USD worth of cryptos than it might be easier to just use one. But once your wallet grows I would recommend to split into different wallet. For me I have one mobile wallet which I use for small transactions, everything less than 100 USD. And then I have one paper and one hardware wallet for long term storage. It's a little bit more work to organise multiple wallets, but like this if anything happens to your wallet you atleast don't lose everything.
2206  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe you dont like current financial system but its the way how it is on: May 22, 2022, 02:23:34 PM
I understand your reasoning and you are right that it can be too much for some people to fully understand the problems we face on our current financial system. It worked for the last 60 years, so why shouldn't it work for another 60 years? It's much easier to accept the current situation and not try to change it. Unfortunately the reasoning is wrong. Just because something worked in the past is no guarantee that it will work forever. We can already see today that that our system is failing, we haven't reached the optimal system that makes everybody happy. Relying on large amounts of debt to drive growth only means that problems are transferred into the future. Even if it won't blow up in our lifetime, our children and grand children will feel the fallout. In my opinion we should pressure the politicians more to change our monetary and financial system.
2207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thank you Laszlo Hanyecz! Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day! on: May 22, 2022, 01:53:03 PM
Oh boy, I didn't know this day was celebrated. Happy bitcoin pizza day everybody  Cheesy Not sure if Laszlo wants to remember that day in particular. It feels a bit like meme to me and if I were in his shoes I would hey drunk every year on this day. 300m USD for 2 pizzas is rough. Lazlo is the reason why I never would buy food with crypto currencies. You can consume food only one time and there is no value left after that. If you at least buy a physical asset you have something left. And even if bitcoins rally after your purchase you have something tangible that doesn't make it seem so bad. It's kinda sad he hasn't been online for so long.
2208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So my portfolio is down %70...too late to pull back now I guess on: May 22, 2022, 01:36:42 PM
This downtrend has been detrimental to my health (mental health). Exactly %70 just now. No lunch money type of money either.

Have we ever experienced this kind of downtrend before?? What's the latest on how long this might last, or if it's even going to recover.

Sorry to hear you are down so much. It's hard to give advise without knowing your exact position. What kind of coins are you holding? In general I would not sell coins if they are down so much. Only if the coin is a scam and will be worthless soon I would sell, otherwise I would hold it and sit out the dip. But since you are already suffering mental health issues you need to take a break from cryptos. I hope you only invested money you don't need at the moment. So my advise would be, forget about your crypto portfolio. Take a break for 6 months, stop checking prices and your portfolio values. Come back at the end of the year and reevaluate things.

The finals for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 are coming up tonight. Yesterday semi final games where nice to watch, especially FaZe vs Spirit was a pretty close game, it could have went either way.  As for NaVi, they were the favourites from the start of the tournament, everybody expected them to reach the finals. They played very solid against ENCE and gave them no real chance to win. Every round they made a mistake the regrouped the next one and took it back. The payout for ENCE for winning the tournament where very decent, but now it's up to NaVi to take it down. Not sure if the finals will be go into overtime. During the ESL Pro League last month FaZe actually managed to win 2-0 against NaVi. So far NaVi looked very convincing during all the games. I will stick with NaVi for tonight even if the payout is only at 1.63 right now.
2210  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Russia isn't using it's full force in Ukraine ? tactically .. on: May 22, 2022, 05:15:22 AM
The Russia Ukraine war is very hard to analyse because we only get one sided information here. On TV we only see Russian losses, all Ukrainian casualties are being not disclosed. It makes it hard to get an objective picture from the war. What we do know is that Putin tried a blitzkrieg and overthrow the government in Kiev quickly. That didn't work because of some wrong Intel or it was just a high risk, high reward strategy. The Ukrainian army is bigger than the number of Russian troops in Ukraine, but Putin can use his forces much more concentrated than the Ukrainian. He is choosing which area to attack, while Ukraine needs to defend the whole country. The big issue for how many troops to be used in Ukraine is the logistic. Already with the current amount of troops Russia is having problems supplying all the front line battalions. It must be very frustrating to leave behind armor because of the lack of fuel. Now it's a war of attrition and Russia will need to access its vast supply of old weapons, while Ukraine is being supplied by Western countries.
2211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what age did you start learning about bitcoin? on: May 21, 2022, 02:44:19 PM

1. At what age did you start learning about bitcoin?
2. What role did age and prior experience play in helping you learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency?
3. With your current knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, do wish you started at an earlier age?

First time I heard about bitcoins I was 22, but I didn't get so excited and interest about crypto currencies back then. My whole investing career had a very bad timing. The first time i tried to manage my own money was in 2007/2008, right before the big financial crisis. That meant for me that all my positions went red for the next 4 years. I lost completely interest in investing and took a break. In 2014/2015 I got back into investing and that was also when I learned more about bitcoins. Now with hindsight I wish I had put all my money into cryptos back then. Unfortunately we can't turn back time, only learn from our mistakes.
2212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any changes experienced within body - Gambling??? on: May 21, 2022, 02:20:13 PM
Sorry to hear you are feeling ill and are having stomach pains, that's definitely not a good sign and you need to look after that. First of all, don't use Google to diagnose a disease or a problem. It's not helpful and will likely give you wrong results. Stomach pain is a very broad Symptome for many different illnesses. Don't trust the Internet, go to your local doctor and talk to him. You need an expert to check you out. Also a blood test can help to find out what is wrong with you.
I had similar symptoms in the past when I was working a lot, all day I only had work in my head and couldn't relax in the evenings. It became very hard for me to concentrate long time on one thing and I had stomach pains in the morning on my way to work. The doctor told me it comes from too much stress and I need to find a new hobby to blow off steam. To me it sounds like you put too much pressure on yourself. You should really take a break and recover. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
2213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Winners: Eintracht Frankfurt! on: May 21, 2022, 01:54:13 PM
The match could have gone either way. When shooting penalties, you know it's always a lottery. I don't remember for whom, but in extra time there were still great opportunities for a team. If that ball had gone in, the game was over. It certainly wasn't an unattractive match. Certainly after rest enough effort and willpower seen.

Very close match indeed, both teams played really well, was an exciting final match. After beating West Ham I thought that Eintracht Frankfurt would win the finals for sure. It was disappointing to see the game go into over time because I bet on a win in regular play time. I thought about making another live bet during OT as Frankfurt was the stronger team. But once it goes into penalty shoot out everything can happen, it's like a coin flip. Overall the Europe league this season was not a good run for me, I lost money. It was too many under dogs winning. Still happy for Eintracht though, the party afterwatds was insane.
2214  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you live through the last bear market ? If so, what did you learn ? on: May 21, 2022, 01:40:35 PM
I started with crypto currencies in 2016. Back then cryptos where mostly a tool for me to quickly buy and sell CSGO skins. There were no verifications needed and it was so much faster than waiting for bank transfers, especially when dealing with international websites. It was also the first time I gambled at online casinos with crypto casinos. Unfortunately I converted all my bitcoins from back then to fiat money as soon as the first signs of a bear market appeared. I didn't look at crypto coins as long term investments what was one of my biggest mistakes. After a long break I only came back during the last big bull run. So my biggest recommendation for anybody is to not lose hope during bear phases. The crypto markets move in cycles and will eventually recover. Being part of panic selling right now is a bad decision, I will not make the same mistake twice.
2215  Economy / Gambling / Re: I want to make a telegram live betting group… on: May 21, 2022, 07:57:54 AM
I’ve actually been using telegram for very very long but i dont really see any good live betting groups. Like people share their prediction and thoughts around kind… normally i see a lot of fixed scams, posting ridiculous odds and winnings, really sick and tired of these scammers. But i dont really know if it’s easy or good to make one telegram group.

I kinda like community to share and chat around you know, everyone discuss about their games and what to bet and all. So eitherway, i’ve created a telegram group for sports and casino betting discussion. Give me some advice and opinion to better improve my group… it will be good for you all to be part of it too.  Grin

https://t.me/sportsliveforum

Always nice to see another telegram group about gambling and sports betting. I agree with you that there is no real active group for live betting, maybe the market for live betting is not so big and most sport betters like to place their bet in advance. The only problem I see is that you need some active moderation, because as soon as there some active members there will also be bots and scammers. I noticed that some telegram groups have their own bots that remove users who post wrong things, not sure if you have to pay for these anti scam bots or if they are free. This will of course only get rid of the obvious bots from your group, it still needs some admins who engage with users and filter out any more sophisticated scammers.
2216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causing victim to scam his family on: May 21, 2022, 07:34:36 AM
That is a very sad story and the bookmaker Boyle Sports is definitely at fault here. Sending 50 Euro free bets to man struggling with gambling addiction every time he is trying to stop gambling seems like abuse. From a marketing point of view I understand the company, it is normal practice to give out things for free to get more customers, or to get old customers excited again. However, if the person is struggling with a gambling addiction than things should be a little different. There should be an option for every gambler to inform the bookmaker or the casino that you are fighting an addiction and trying to stop gambling for a time. I saw some online casinos have a panic button, where you can log yourself out for 24h up to 180 days. Having something similar for all the bookmakers would be a good idea, like that you could prevent yourself from betting and gambling for a longer period of time. And the casino should of course not reopen the account before the period is over.
2217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think we should do with our investments in times of uncertainty? on: May 21, 2022, 07:15:17 AM
A few days ago I talked about this a bit but I didn't go into depth as such and I wanted to see what you guys thought. What would you do in uncertain times?

I am a more long term investor and don't like to sell my coins at the first sight of a bear market. Finding the right time to sell and to buy is very hard, that is why HODL investing is so attractive to many investors. Dealing with uncertainty is part of the game and it shouldn't be a quick stomach decision when to sell. First of all it depends on what do you expect from the future. Selling now all the crypto coins just to buy them back in a few months at a similar level doesn't seem like a good idea. We should also have a plan what to do with the money after sell, holding large amounts of cash is also not a good idea at the moment. If there is no existential threat to our investment than it is best to hold on in my opinion.
2218  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: May 18, 2022, 01:34:04 PM
Of course both of the two are important, but if you want to compare casino name to site functionality, I would say the site functionality is 10 times more important. A good casino name should have not been used in the past, has no bad vibe to it, and relates to gambling. A good name is only there to make the customer interested and intrigued. Once he visits the casino website it's up to the layout and games to keep the customer gambling. A good layout can compensate for a bad name, but not the best name in the world will compensate for a bad layout. Without a intuitive and easy to use layout the gambler will feel uncomfortable and look for an alternative. The online casino market is very competitive and many of the older casinos have well-established websites. A new casino needs to offer atleast the same amount of comfort.
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's all about HODLing on: May 18, 2022, 01:02:24 PM
Truth be told, hodling crypto currency is more about holding than anything else.
Those who have mastered the art of hodling have made the most money trading or investing in crypto currencies. The most basic skill one should have is HODLing.

Two things can help for a HODL investor, having a strong stomach or a very bad short term memory, either one of those will make sure to not sell early our coins. Buying bitcoins and just forgetting about them is one approach, but it might be better to have a strong stomach and thick skin. A short term drop in prices doesn't mean we lost money, that happens only when we sell the coins. Better to sit out the bear market and wait fot the next bull cycle. Then again this depends also where we bought our coins, investors who bought at 100 or 1,000 USD will not be alarmed right now. Its the investors who bought between 30,000 and 50,000 USD who are worrying the most. It could take some time to reach a new ATH.
2220  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices looking bullish but we need one thing just on: May 18, 2022, 12:44:10 PM
Food prices are bullish prices soaring but not to waste good bull run we need coins like:
Potato wheat corn ....and exetra...so if you hold that coin and price goes up you earn nice profit.

Also its good that food prices going up as im investor of food futures so at least i earn yield of high food prices but i hope there will be coins begged to wheat or other foods

Looks like you are positioned very well for the next few months. Unfortunately most people are not holding any food coins or futures. Rising food prices hurts the average Joe the most, they need to pay higher bills in the supermarket while their savings are eaten up by rising inflation. That's also my issue why I am against rising food prices, we don't need higher inflation right now. The economies are already hurting enough from the covid pandemic aftermath. Even if some of us are making big profits, the fallout could be worse. Crypto currencies would be one good solution against the rising inflation, but with the Terra Luna crisis on top, investors are very cautious about adding more cryptos.
