2261  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you know that one Bitcoin is worth as much as 2,5 million Ripple? on: March 16, 2018, 10:33:41 AM
Did you know that one Bitcoin is worth as much as 2,5 million Ripple? For me this was a huge eyeopener.
oh yeah? let me help open your eyes some more.
there are only 16.9 million bitcoin available while there are 39,091.7 million (39 billion) ripple available.
on top of that, bitcoin is actually used as a currency while XRP is a centralized token that nobody have ever used and will never use. I say ripple is extremely overpriced right now considering Wink

2262  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about this chart? on: March 16, 2018, 10:14:36 AM
I started thinking that this correction is more sever than I expected.
It's more severe than we ever thought because bitcoin reached $20,000 and this is the highest price that it went through so witnessing it to plummet is really giving us doubt.

there is actually a very good point here. people often forget that the highest price was $20,000 and with current price you can say that bitcoin has lost 60% of its value and if you take the bottom which was reached a while back then you can see the dump was nearly -70%
so yeah, we already had something like 2014 dump. the question is how much bigger should it become before the market makers decide that is enough?
2263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: News says Bitcoin is Stronger than Ever, What do you thing? on: March 16, 2018, 08:44:59 AM
these days the price is mixed with everything else so whenever price is not performing well everyone thinks bitcoin is not strong anymore. sadly people have forgotten that price is not the only thing that matters. in fact it may be the last thing of importance for bitcoin.

the most important thing for bitcoin is its adoption and that is growing. we can see that in the number of users, nodes, miners which is both number of miners and hashrate and also all the different countries and big companies like Samsung that have been showing interest in ASICs, number of merchants and a lot more and all of these have been rising. we had some hiccups during November and December because of high fees but that is solved now.
and finally pretty soon we will have mass adoption of Lightning Network and things will change big time.
2264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congressman's statement on Bitcoiners. Right in the feelings. Hahaha. on: March 16, 2018, 07:39:55 AM
It is true that Bitcoin does make people make a lot of money. I think that if you can make money and you don’t break the law, then even if you are nude at home every day, it doesn’t matter. ICO has certain risks, but not all ICOs are useless, and at least some projects can bring economic benefits.

the fund raising through ICOs is flawed to begin with and the people doing it don't need to get paid to copy paste some code and create a new token. NONE of them are good. they just make promises, create some imaginary problem and try fixing it and during that ask for money to do it!

show me one of the thousands of ICOs in past year or so which have done something now. some old one for example that solved one of those imaginary problems and actually returned some "product" and i'll believe you.
2265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to stay safe from bitcoin theives on: March 16, 2018, 07:33:41 AM
There are cases that theives robbed the house of a bitcoin holder and beat him after.

where did this happen? I have never heard about this one before!

so far any cases of physical robbery that I have heard of was the case of someone not being careful, for example people who wanted to sell their coins face to face but chose a back alley, a parking lot with nobody around,... for their trades with a shady person who they have never seen before. it is like an open invitation to get robbed. so obviously don't do that and you are going to be fine Smiley
2266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congressman's statement on Bitcoiners. Right in the feelings. Hahaha. on: March 16, 2018, 07:18:14 AM
Read this quote from the congressional hearing on cryptocurrencies yesterday.

https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/congressional-hearing-cryptocurrencies-devolves-bitcoin-204900246.html
Quote
"Cryptocurrencies are a crock," Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) said to kick off his opening remarks. "They allow a few dozen men in my district to sit in their pajamas all day and tell their wives they're going to be millionaires."

The good congressman didn't have to be so hurtful about it. I believe that statement has hit the nail on the head, has stabbed the dagger in the heart, has hit the grand slam, <put more idioms here>. Hahaha!

LOL. there are thousands of people doing the same thing with Stocks market, Forex market, and lots of other markets. that is where the day trading name comes from, bitcoin market and the number of people doing what this idiot congressman described is so small that they are negligible.

so with his logic, all the Stocks, Currencies like USD, Gold, Silver,... are "crocks" too.
2267  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 15, 2018, 12:17:14 PM
Thanks for info. I know now that this is only my problem.
My table look as it.

it is indeed strange. did you by any chance enable one of the reward multipliers from the Rewards section? maybe one of them glitched and halved your payment twice.
since your comment may get buried under other comments and they may miss it, you can contact the freebitco.in community manager on bitcointalk called Myfe and ask him for help. if it is a glitch they can fix it.
2268  Economy / Gambling / Re: Options for a transparent crypto-raffle ? on: March 15, 2018, 08:27:01 AM
making it fair and trusted is not that hard, it has happened before multiple times. the problem however, is that people are not so interested in joining gambling games they have little chance to win. they usually prefer simple games that are also happening fast, such as Dice games for example. and as long as there are lots of games like these, they won't go for "Raffles" even if they are transparent.

so you either have to find another type of game and spend your time developing that, or you have to find a way to make your Raffle different so that you can find players willing to play there, which is going to be very hard!
2269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expectations that many expected in 2018 on: March 15, 2018, 07:53:44 AM
Do not 'expect' the best because that's when you will become negligent in your decisions. Carefully consider things and make the best decision you can. I believe the market will recover but if I didn't I would not hold out of blind faith.

This. I think that people should focus on the tech and fundamentals and stop worrying about price fluctuations. The price is the only thing no one (or most people) don't have control over.

that is the big problem though!
people only care about the price so that is what they focus on and that is what becomes volatile while the technology is having a hard time advancing. for example how many people are really looking at bitcoin code, how many are reporting bugs they find, how many are testing new softwares such as lightning network. LN nodes reached 1000 and then stopped there. do we really have only 1000 bitcoin users?!!

besides if everyone focused on the technology and learned more about it and really understood what it means when we say "decentralized, censorship-resistance currency" then they wouldn't have panicked by a ban news in first place so they price would been controlled more too!
2270  Economy / Speculation / Re: great influence in the world of cryptocurrency. on: March 15, 2018, 07:41:11 AM
a little bird told me that bitcoin prices can survive without other coins, whereas the price of other coins can not survive without bitcoin.
I think bitcoin is very influential in the world of cryptocurrency.

well that is true and false at the same time!
we all know that all the altcoins are greatly influenced by bitcoin price. and mostly in a negative fashion meaning as long as bitcoin is making a big move up or down, altcoin prices will fall down big time. and when bitcoin is not making much of a move, altcoins can start rising or getting pumped.

and the first part is true that bitcoin is not depending on altcoin prices and will survive without them but it may be affected by them too. for example their dumps may cause some drop in bitcoin as some people choose bitcoin to exit to fiat or have to other way so they sell to BTC then sell BTC for USD and that can crash bitcoin a little at least.
2271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook and Google Ban is really healthy for Crypto Community on: March 15, 2018, 07:27:34 AM
it is not healthy, it is not unhealthy either. it is nothing, it should be nothing.
it is just another centralized platform that made a decision about cryptocurrencies. it is exactly the same as saying Google banned torrent sites (which they actually did from their search results) but nobody gave a fuck and torrents are still being used massively because it is a decentralized way of file sharing between peers even if it is pirating!

so why in the world this has to be different for bitcoin which is THE decentralized currency?

besides things you said will continue to happen nonetheless, the scammers will continue to scam, you will continue to see fake websites for wallets, you will continue to see scam ICOs and all that. not much will change.
2272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The FALL OF BITCOIN on: March 15, 2018, 07:14:40 AM
The only coin that is using blockchain technology the right way is USDT or Tether
most other coins are just scams and not meant for adaptability

you either have absolute zero understanding of what you are saying here, or you are simply trolling. in both cases that is not cool.

USDT is one of the shadiest and possibly scammiest altcoins that has ever been created. it is a centralized token which might as well be something like PayPal and never even use the name "cryptocurrency". nobody in the world is even using this token! the only usage that it has is a temporary place where you go to if you want to go to dollar but not use dollar.
2273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All the Crypto's Fall Down Today on: March 15, 2018, 06:57:32 AM
Crypto downfall chart according to coindesk:

that is bitcoin's chart not, crypto!

and the reason for bitcoin drop is simply the same as always, panic sells thanks to negative news mixed with lots of FUD and lots of manipulation of the price in the market.

the rest of cryptocurrencies are dropping first because they drop every time bitcoin drops and second because there is no real demand for any of them and the panic you see in bitcoin is always 10 times bigger in altcoins since 100% of the altcoin investors are speculators whereas a much smaller percentage of bitcoin investors are pure speculators.
2274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google to ban cryto related advertisements on: March 15, 2018, 06:51:12 AM
these are all irrelevant to bitcoin. Facebook bans, Google bans, even government bans on cryptocurrencies should not even affect bitcoin price. and if it does that just proves that people who never understood bitcoin are not exiting by selling their precious coins. which is actually a good thing. we don't want people who don't understand bitcoin to hold any of it. let the rest of us who do, hold a larger amount as the price drops. in a couple of years they will come back begging us to sell them something as the price is above $1 mil Wink
2275  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC slumps again, is it heading for 6K or lower prices? on: March 14, 2018, 03:13:55 PM
...
Better invest in real scalable secure green solutions!

so far your "real" blah blah solutions are getting dumped hard too:

you can keep on keeping your head in the sand and bag hold all these shitcoins, nobody is stopping you to throw your money away Wink
2276  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC slumps again, is it heading for 6K or lower prices? on: March 14, 2018, 02:13:05 PM
whenever the gates of FUD opens, there is more and more FUD coming out of it every minute and  with each of them, the market reacts big time and price drops a little more. and it seems to me that the market makers are currently deciding that this current price action is more beneficial for them so here we go again! more drops, more FUD, more panics, more shakeouts...

the worst part is that we may see a huge rally with price shooting up to the moon after this phase ended, instead of a smooth and solid rise.
2277  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 14, 2018, 02:04:06 PM
[snip]
Yes, I got the same response when I tried it. I was doing some testing for a strategy I wanted to implement, but the high transaction fees will cancel all the gain that I would have received from this. The strategy require frequent deposits and withdrawals from the site. < You get interest on your balance, without the risk of storing large amounts of coins for long periods on the site. >

We tell people not to store large amounts of coins on exchanges, but we should trust a faucet that we know very little about?  ^not^

the withdrawal fees from the site is currently 40 satoshi for Slow withdrawals which will happen in less than 6 hours in my experience and the instant withdrawals which will be in next block only costs 598 satoshi. what is the high transaction fees you are talking about?

about the investment, like any other place there is always a risk so you have to come up with a risk/reward ratio that you are most comfortable with and do that. you obviously can never fully trust anyone but based on the long history of this site and the fact that they are actually mining I think it can be trusted a little at least!
I had up to 1BTC invested there at some point which I withdrew with only 40 satoshi fee Cheesy I still have some more and had different amounts there for profit for a long time now.

What is the risk to have when you placing any amount on freebitco.in site? I believe it is not the same as pther investment which there is always up and down trend depends on gambler. They give us only interests which is I can say this is like a bank system. So if we store certain amount it gives the exactly 4.08% interest so i would think that to put 1 btc there. They give us pretty good amount in a month without doing anything

well the profit that this site gives is guaranteed, which is why despite it being very low, I like it and I prefer this investment compared to other types of investing in gambling sites. in other places there is also a chance that you lose money but here you will receive the profit daily no matter what.
regarding risks, they are the same as any other place. your account may be hacked (use strong password, enable 2FA,... to reduce the risk). the site itself may get hacked, the site owners can run away, they may sell the site to someone else that they mess things up (this has happened before in some services).

so far I trust freebitco.in enough to invest some amount with them but I wouldn't advise anyone to invest 1BTC really, it is very risky. try to not get greedy and invest what you can afford to lose.
2278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoin; supporting each other? on: March 14, 2018, 01:55:28 PM
Seeing this many new people entered in the market and earned good amount of money by supporting ICOs.

this is the problem right in the middle of your comment!
and I don't know how, you knowing this already, are using the words "supporting" each other!!!

the problem is that these days all the newcomers are only interested in making money from cryptocurrencies. they see bitcoin and think they have missed out, then they also see the advertisement of all these useless tokens which are promising them big returns so they start pouring their money in their pockets. in the end we end up with a bloated altcoin market which is in a gigantic bubble and its burst is actually taking bitcoin down a little too!
2279  Economy / Speculation / Re: PRICE DOWN???DONT PANIC SELL....!!! on: March 14, 2018, 01:42:26 PM
the problem with panic sells these days is the fact that last year's constant rise brought in a lot of newbies which are making up the weak hands right now. and these weak hands expect big rises, only rises from this market and when they don't see constant rise they think it is the end of the world and can not accept an stable price for bitcoin.

on top of that we have a lot of FUD from all around the world being spread by the media that is creating a huge sell pressure in the market. to be honest it is really big how bitcoin is resisting all that sell pressure and is not breaking down!
2280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think HODL is bad for your health? on: March 14, 2018, 01:34:35 PM
people often misunderstand HOLD!
holding is not just buying blindly and keeping it for ages. you buy, in this case bitcoin, because you believe that it has a good future. for example if you believe that bitcoin can continue on this adoption rate and have a much bigger price in a couple of years because of the limited supply and growing demand, then you buy and hold it.
it is also the strategy that you choose when you don't want to be a trader, don't like using risky exchanges that can run away at any moment,....
