the cable is sufficient since i used it before as my music studio..i think it can handle it..my friend is selling me 4 s5's which if i add the price up, its like one S7
That's fair enough then. Not a bad way to start mining. Just make sure you have ventilation sorted. Im only a home miner with one "hacked" S7-LN at the moment and that produces enough heat to heat my room to a nice 22c even with a couple of small windows open.

Hashing wise the S7 is more efficient (hashpower vs the electricity it uses). So you get more bang for buck per machine. The other thing is the electric cabling you have in the location they will be. Is it beefy enough to accept multiple miners?

So many variables to consider. In regards to heat, it all depends on your ambient temperature. You'd at least need an exhaust fan venting hot air out of the room.
Power wise the S7 would be better as its more efficient in its design compared to the S5.

Psu is EVGA 850w P2. I've got one of those leads but wanted to keep the wiring more simple if I could.

Do you think you could run one board to set it up and lower the freq and then restart it and run both boards at the lowered freq (I've only got an 850w psu)?
Sure why not Just attach the controller and only one board. Set freq at 500 vs 550 and boom you are off. If I get one I plan to run it at 700 or 750 gh just remember you need 7 pcie cables. Yep got plenty of cables. Well I've got four gpu points on my psu (EVGA 850w P2) and pci leads that split into two on the ends. Anyone know how much the average controller draws and if it can be run from a Sata/Peripheral connection point on my psu? It powers the fans so 40 to 65 watts with fans but this is a new fan. So a sata connection would be OK?

I've been mining for a while and want to experience everything involved in mining even buying new gear.
I'm limited on power but this would double the hash power of my current setup and still use the same power.

Hi guys,
May sound a stupid question but I've never dealt with them before. How easy is it to buy from them?
|
|
|
Damn straight we need some greens now!!
|
|
|
But is there any leeway for that offered price you are giving?
Marketone
I think its a fair price considering its a gift payment and current preev rate is $57.50 for 0.1btc.
|
|
|
What rate are you offering to sell at?
All the info is in the first post

|

Yea lokos like a new psu they are going to do alongside the R4.
Current one is APW3-12-1600-B2
New one: APW5
From the picture looks like its got a fan ontop rather than the server type fans the previous model had.

Still looking for this deal

Well I didn't get any interest in selling the half dead S3+ As a whole so I'm breaking it for parts.
1x hashing Board with both heatsinks (SOLD)
1x controller board with ribbon cables
1x dead hash board with both heatsinks (removed to check circuitry so separate to board but will come with screws, didn't find any problems with the board it just doesn't work)
2x 120x38mm fans (ONE SOLD)
If anyone is interested in any parts make an offer in the thread and I will PM you to finalise shipping costs etc.
Thanks.

Can't say I'm a fan of the new fan design. I bet it's running their BMminer aswell.

Hello, I just got my first GekkoScience USB miner. I'm trying to run it on a windows machine but I cannot figure out how to install the Zadig driver for cgminer. The only version that I was able to run on my PC is zadig_xp_v2.0.1.161.exe. Can someone please help and give me a few steps? Thanks in advance.
Find out what version of Windows you are running then use the correct one. There is plenty of info in this thread and most of it on the front page. Also Google and YouTube have a vast array of knowledge (that's where I learnt about zadig)

Reset button on the front will set it back to standard settings and standard IP address (192.168.1.99 I think). The ln you can start the setup again.
