nice one, thanks for that.

NRL

I have 2 bets on for this round:

Panthers to beat the Cowboys @ 8.2 - its mad to see the tournament leaders on such high odds.

Raiders to beat the Wests Tigers @ 1.2

RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP

Same as Timelord I'm going with Argentina and Australia to win their games with odds
at 5.4 and 1.76 respectively.

I think its highly unlikely New Zealand are going to let anyone beat them twice
in a row....

Thats quite a serious bit of research done polymerbit!

I really like the comment "This is not money" comment, I mean if that person was a
Numismatist surely they would understand that it is, just like sea shells were at one
stage in history.

It would be interesting to see what the reactions would be if the items on display were
graded.

Anyway very interesting

Another familiar thing with Nick,  US Open: Nick Kyrgios complains of fan smoking marijuana during his second-round win.

And so Felix AA is out in the 3rd round, lost in 3 sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to Jack Draper.

But one can also feel sorry for Nick. So many people in the audience bothering him.  Wink

WTF is wrong with the guy, its all just an act, part of what he does, is it to try and disrupt
his opponent or something?

He is still able to win though, it doesnt seem to be affecting him that much so what
is his problem.

He plays Wolf next and should win that.

Received the book, it looks great.

Excellent doblezero!!

When you are ready you can reach out to @giammangiato for that postal address or they
can contact you beforehand!

Best of luck, update us when you have posted it on so we can track it!

Also the last thing we want is for it to go missing after members putting effort into it
so I would suggest using a tracked postal service ??

Very nice collection! nice to see such a collection all in one shot!

Some people might know me here in the collectibles partly for taking photos of their coins,
and I do love a good photo!

There are two others I can recommend to add to your collection....

Raducanu won last year the US Open with a lot of luck and it was shown now with her getting knocked out. I think we will see her below 100 rank once the list is updated on monday. Swiatek for me is the main favorite even tho she is in bad form.
She's not doing well in her performances that's undeniable but I don't agree with saying that what she achieved earlier was the result of luck, as far as I know last year's US Open was her second GS and being able to win in his second appearance is an achievement that not many players can achieve, and it must be remembered that for the women's sections no one dominates almost no player can defend her title in the following year after William's dominance is no longer there, Raducannu is still young and she will be able to get more achievements if she gets a coach who can develop her abilities.

FAA is already down 2 sets from J. Draper will this be the next surprise at the US Open?

Ouch! FAA is out , I had a bet on him to win!

Raducanu has been disappointing since her win this time last year for sure and we cannot
be roo hard on her because opponent in the final Fernandez hasnt been lighting up
the courts either.

I kind of know where Joca97 is coming from with the luck but that is true for many players
and could come through again this year on the womens side, nearly all the top seeded players
have been knocked out already which leaves a nice path open for the likes of Gauf to do something big.

Talking of ART, I have listed a raffle in the collectibles thread to create some funds
for hodlonaut's defense. Based on a project I did
recently, I'm raffling of a
limited edition self made book and a limited error print but
no tickets sold yet so I hope
its ok to post here too for a bit more exposure ?

I thought more members of the forum would have made some donations.

Obviously there is no obligation to do so but $5's here and $10's there is not
much but it can accumulate to something substantial potentially.

Ok I'll give you 6 from 6 - nice one!

Yea The raiders did the job and checking the ladder now they are in 8th spot, well done to them.

I had the Cowboys backed to beat the Rabbitohs, it was close. I only did 2 bets this weekend
so I'm 1 from 2.

FINALS UP NEXT

I thought there was only 24 rounds in the Telstra Premiership but realise now there
are 25, starting tomorrow.

I find it hard to do some picks this round, 5 plays 4, 6 plays 7 and 3 plays 1, there are not so
many value bets either, maybe the Raiders to win @ 1.21?

Rugby Union Rugby Championship

Can Argentina backup their win last week of New Zealand? the punters still dont think
so but still Argentina with better odds this week at 6.2, New Zealand 1.1 - I might spend some
of my winnings from last week on The Pumas!

Australia close favourites to do the business again against the Springbok's.

Thank you doblezero for running this raffle - details sent!
2332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 31, 2022, 06:13:07 PM
Really difficult to find value in this early rounds. I checked the markets today and nothing looks amazing.

Maybe Korda to win against Paul and make it 4. win in 4 matches? Odds are good.

Wolf should win quite easy against Tabilo, I am on -1.5 set handicaps here.

Kyrgios should win 3:0 but I said to myself that I am never placing a bet on this particular @#@#!& So skipping it

Yes I agree, its hard to find value, my nice bet on Baez yesterday got cancelled when
he pulled out, I had a +8.5 handicap on him @2.13 and he was down 2 sets 6-4, 6-4 and
was looking like delivering my bet.

Just tuned into the Murray v Nava match and Murray is down 1 set already, Murrays odds
are 1.32 now, Nava's 3.4, I feel like doing something but dont know what ...

Very bold move by Die_empty and quite amazing that they got to meet face to face with
the government representative and kudos to that representative to make the meeting
happen. There must be an appetite among some people in government to review the central
bank bill.

It will be quite something if it gets reviewed and then overturned in favour of allowing
people the choice of getting involved with Bitcoin.

Best of luck to Die_empty

Tsitsipas loses his match against Galan in 4 sets. Lost the first set 6-0! What's going on with Tsitsipas? he was one of the favs to win the tournament and he goes down to world no. 94 in the opening round. Halep lost in the opening round as well. Quite a few upsets on Day 1.

Wow, I really expected wins by both Tsitsipas and Halep, Tsitsipas reaching the final of Cincinnati,
we would have expected the form to continue,  Same with Halep, winning the Canadian Open this
month we would have expected at the very least a first round win.

Luckily I didnt bet on them
At times matches go completely against the expectation. Tsitsipas is on a winning track and everyone believed he would make good progress. Rather than any other sports, it is good to make bets against the odds suggested by the gambling houses. There is more chance of making a win, because many match results will have similar outcomes in the upcoming days.

@romero121 I kinda agree to your statement, because in the past we knew that Federer would win, then came Nadal and Djokovic era where they would win most of their matches and thus wagering on Tennis matches were easy to do, however the current generation is very unpredictable and wagering small amounts against them is not a bad suggestion.

However people should not wager big on unknown player’s to cause upsets, and they should apply the basic rule i.e. to study both the opponent and see if the underdog has any potential of causing an upset like we witnessed in Tsitsipas match.

I agree somewhat but its very difficult to forsee these upsets although I think it happened
before to me with Sinner and probably Tsitsipas last year at some stage and I learned my
lesson then!

Alcaraz plays today against Baez and obviously its not worth betting on Alcaraz as the odds
are so low, I can take Baez +8.5 which is appealing @2.13, Alcaraz can have lull's in matches so
it might be worth a bet.

Very nice to see images of him again.

He was such an influence in the cryptography space and obviously had an influence
on Satoshi's work to create Bitcoin before launch while he was a 'member' of the cypherpunks.

What a legend

This Grand Slam marks the end of an era for one of the biggest stars in Tennis, Serena Williams
is playing her last tournament and is on court in a couple of hours against Danka Kovinic.

Its sad in a way but nothing lasts forever except her legacy, soon it will be turn of Nadal, Murray,
Djokovic and officially Federer.

I wonder how far Serena will be able to get. If she manages to survive a couple of rounds and can play her last match against one of the new top young players, it would be a nice goodbye. It would be a bit sad to see her loose against a "nobody".

Well she won that match anyway in 2 sets 6-3, 6-3 as expected probably.
