I think here the concept is getting clearer, we have to put our money in something that makes its value increase, because if you just save your money it won't increase.
so I think investment is the right choice for our old age.
If indeed your uncle is diligent in saving and investing his money, I think now he will not be upset and have financial difficulties.

yes, totally agree with the investing thing but not so much the saving thing, FIAT evaporates
and more so over the last couple of years, there really is no point in saving FIAT in the long
term, maybe for a short term goal its ok.

Then what asset do you invest in? where would anyone start investing, what asset?
personally and especially over the last 18 months its blatantly obvious there really
isnt anything other than Bitcoin? I cant see it.

Big defeat from Kvitova, just to know about the women's singles winner had a search and found Kvitova to win the title. Her first WTA title since Madrid Open (2018). The first set of the match have went to 716-614. The second set was an easy win for Kvitova 6-2. She had won the title, but failed to win the hearts with her attitude. I don't know whether it is right or wrong, but to a child she couldn't have done it.Not Good

Yeah, I agree this is not nice. In her defense, I can say that she has just won the title and the adrenaline kicked in and perhaps she didn't even notice the kid. As to the match itself, imo Rybakina lost to herself not to Kvitova. Too many unforced errors. One of the worst matches for her this year.

Meanwhile, I'm switching to Charleston WTA 500 and definitely can't wait to see/bet on Monte Carlo (starting on April 9?). Clay season is starting soon, this is going to be interesting! Cool

I saw this on twitter, this clip shows the "full scene".

https://twitter.com/petexiao1/status/1642787982167121920?s=20

the way I see it is there were two wrongs and ita all about "time and place"

The mom of the kid is waaay to pushy and I think the kid kind of knows it doesnt feel right,
she is the only one invading the space, not the right place to ask for an autograph.

On Kvitova's side all the cameras are pointing in your direction and its only one autograph,
snubbing the kid probably wasnt the right thing to do at that time.

anyway back into clay season with a few ATP tournaments in action already, Estoril Portugal,
Marrakesh Morocco and  Houston USA but I have no idea who plays where yet
1343  Economy / Economics / Re: Ditch the Dollar on: April 03, 2023, 08:50:31 PM
Unfortunately the U.S. became too heavy handed with sanctions and countries are realizing it isn't worth it to have an unstable country that pegged directly to U.S. foreign policy.
The list of things that led to demise of United States is long, one of the main ones is abuse of power/sanctions. Another is the unstoppable money printing machines that are on a printing spree increasing the US national debt by the second.

The world has realized that they either have to endure US inflation in their own country or dump dollar so they are slowly but surely choosing the second option.
This is not the first time they do this either. They did it back when they first realized US economy is only alive because they print money that is no longer backed by anything, this was in the 70's and they ditched dollar and it got dumped hard and US economy turned into ashes in about 6 months.

Of course in the 70's US national debt was only in billions of dollars, to be more specific in 1970 it was only $371 billion dollar and today it is $31,653 billion ($31.6 trillion) which is a 8431% rise! US is also not the hegemony it was back in 70's without competition. US military is not nearly as strong as it was back in 70's. US also doesn't have the energy rich colonies it had back in the 70's.
The dump of dollar this time is going to be a lot more catastrophic and there will be no coming back.

Unless the US regime can think of any other scam like last time (Petrodollar) or start a World War, I don't see the trend of dedollarisation slowing down.

Regards sanctions, thats actually using the $ as a weapon,  I think countries are realising
that holding dollars is a liability, same goes for the excessive printing, again its
a liability holding the $, its losing value quickly.

So its one thing countries starting to ditch the dollar but imagine when all the trillions
of them which are going to make their way back to the US eventually....

I think many have seen the graph below:

As you can see, every global reserve currency has it's lifespan and USDs lifespan is about to come to an end. Which currency will take it's place? Yuan? Bitcoin? Personally, I think it's going to be Bitcoin, the time of national currencies is over. Make sure you're ready when the time comes. BTC

Yes possibly the Yuan as a global reserve currency and Bitcoin as a global reserve asset?
1344  Economy / Collectibles / Re: yogg sweepping again - Playtoshi edition on: April 03, 2023, 08:34:19 PM
Ah shite guys, I feel for anyone who is suffering because of this scam which is gone into
a new pre-meditated phase.

Cant believe he would go ahead and go for Scam II for 0.021BTC, as others have said
there really isnt any reason to not redeem what you can.

The story before of him just happening across some stored keys was nonsense, to
keep the keys in the first place only points to a pre-meditated plan to scam.
1345  Economy / Speculation / Re: I missed the bottom or i have time to invest on: April 03, 2023, 12:33:21 PM
Why are you trying to time bottoms in the first place? Thinking you can time exact bottoms is unrealistic as hell — heck, even the very best investors don't try to time bottoms. Bullish on bitcoin or any other investment asset for the long-term? Go buy — either through lump sum or DCA. You don't really need to over-complicate it.

As for altcoins — if you don't want to do your own research, then stay away from it entirely.

Absolutely - I dont get it either.

What price would the OP like to buy at?
Is it worth the risk to hold out to try and buy at .... $19k  and instead the market
moves in the opposite direction leaving you to buy at a higher price than NOW?

Its a gamble I wouldnt be willing to make, long term its going up so just DCA and HODL

well if I was betting on those last two games I certainly would have gone with both of
the losing teams.

In my couple of years following the NRL this is indeed a strange start. All the dominant
teams over the last 2 seasons anyway are yet to take their spots on the ladder, based on
last season its really only the Roosters who are positioned where I perceive them to be,
but the Sharks, Rabbitohs, Cowboys and Eels are floundering mid to bottom table,
it will be interesting to see how the next 5 rounds turn out and can the Broncos at least stay
on top or close to it?
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 02, 2023, 08:29:07 PM
Sinner has lost the first set and It seems he is going to loss also the second one (2-4 Medvedev Is serving for 2-5 Sad ) ... I was tempted to bet on him Roll Eyes
Unlucky day for the italian guy... He was also in advantage of one point break on first set...
I expected a better performance from sinner to be honest especially after he beat alcaraz but it was a disapointing final in my opinion, it seems that medvedev is back in shape a final in indiana wells and now he won the miami tournament.

So did I, I really thought the match was going to be a really close affair, possibly 3 sets!

I believe Janick was not feeling well all day and on court had dizzy spells so he was
not himself so straight away he was at a disadvantage but yea Medvedev looked fairly
impressive, when Janick broke a few times Daniil broke back straight away.

Such a pity for Sinner, yesterday he probably felt he had a really great chance to take
the title.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: April 02, 2023, 01:05:38 PM
46 - 12 to the Broncos in the end, ok its only the Wests Tigers but still the Broncos are
sitting pretty on top spot and are currently unbeaten in 5 rounds.

In the other 2 games - what happened to the Sharks after half time when they were leading
26 - 12? The Warriors came back into the game to win, only difference between them was
a missed conversion...

and the Cowboys... losing by a field goal in the 84th minute, that was a close game.
1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 02, 2023, 07:51:31 AM
I'm really looking forward to the final tomorrow. Sinner played some great tennis against Alcaraz and I simply enjoy watching Medvedev when he's in form - which he currently is.
With the first set win of 77-64 it looked like a match of Alcaraz, but Sinner played well in the next two sets 6-4 6-2 and were able to reach the finals.
Medvedev has to be considered a favorite considering that he never lost against Sinner, but if I had to pick the winner for tomorrow I'd go with Jannik. He looks ready for his 1st win.
It looks like a wild prediction. As Medvedev haven't lost any matches against Sinner we have Medvedev as the favourite, and every match was played in hard-indoor court. This is the first match to be played on hard-indoor. Maybe this gonna have some importance on the match. As said Sinner surely gonna give the best out of him to win as he have already won against the defending champion.

its very different this time, I would argue that Sinner has increased his development
of his game at a much higher pace than Medvedev.

Sinner has been working on his fitness, muscle mass and his serve as well as other
aspects of his game which are secret - understandably.

This is his first real chance of beating Medvedev and so the market thinks so too
with the odds almost identical for both.

Thank you, everyone in the community, for always supporting me. I've sent the package

I always do my best, but it's not easy to free my mind from all the issues and stay focused on drawing.
However, I try my best to think only about art and live in that world where there are no issues.
Sometimes it's challenging because I feel like the problems will never end.
I have responsibilities because of my collectors, so I must keep drawing and improving.

Thank you Cyrus!

Ok there doesnt seem to be any appetite for this so apart from the 7 prints for the
7 contributors I will print 1 extra for myself and another for Cyrus and one extra for
a raffle at a later stage, total of 10.

I will also get an initial test print ran to check the quality so there will be at least
1 test print also.

I will work on the final artwork this week and update the thread with that and hopefully
get the copies ran at the end of the week too, all going well.
1352  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Vintage / Classic Wrist Watch on: April 01, 2023, 06:16:20 PM
I am looking to buy a classic or vintage wrist watch. During the week I damaged my
32 year old Tissot so I'm looking for a replacement.

Would love another Tissot brand loyalty and I'm setting a budget of around $400

I would also like an automatic one.

Other criteria: No Gold or silver plating, doesnt have to be Tissot, can be metal or leather strap.

So if anyone has anything to sell let me know.

I am in the E.U so preferably sellers in the E.U and I will be paying with BTC

WOW - what a win by Janick over Carlos in 3 sets, did anyone have Janick backed?

I watched the 2 minute highlights on Tennistv.com and OMG it looks like it was a cracking
match. Tie break in the first set and then the final two sets were definitively Janick's.

I think he has a real chance of taking the title against Medvedev and Medvedev will
probably be happier not to play Alcaraz....

unfortunately I didn't bet.
the risk/reward ratio was very high to me and then ... it was Friday evening Sad impossible to follow such an event and bet live (I Always bet live games).

the final victory can be there... Sinner here in Miami really played at the highest levels. among other things, beating a number 1 atp is not such a frequent event Wink
the final against Medvedev will be epic...

Yes hopefully it will be epic! I listened to his interview after the match and he said himself
it will be different against Medvedev because of obviously his game play and court positioning.

I just checked the odds on Rollbit and there is nothing between them, Sinner 1.88,
Medvedev 1.88 - it really is anyones final eventhough I said earlier Janick
would win....

Kvitova v Rybakina

Rybakina has more chances of winning, Czech veteran had less time to rest as her match was yesterday. Otherwise, both girls have great serves and hit perfectly from the baseline. h2h is tied at 1:1. One more important fact - Kvitova is 10 years older than Rybakina. My bet is on Rybakina.

Get ready for another tennis night!

Yea I cant call this one eventhough Rybakina is favourite. I think it could go either way.

Damn, just popped into the Tennis thread and saw this...

and was confused for approximately 2 seconds. . . then I remembered the date 🤣
1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 31, 2023, 07:40:14 PM
Medvedev got the job done in 3 sets to reach 5 finals in 5 consecutive tournaments.

I like Daniil but if Alcaraz beats Sinner tonight to line up an Indian Wells repeat final I
really cant see him beating him. They have 2 very different styles but Alcaraz has a more
direct powerful one which trumps Medvedev's .

On the WTA side its Kvitova against Cirstea who has been really good in Miami. She is 1.97
to win and I'm going to back her.
1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: March 31, 2023, 06:46:02 PM
BOOM ------ the Panthers have arrived!
Massive win over the Raiders today, I was following the score before I went into work hoping
for more favourable odds on the Panthers but they hit the front straight away. I predict that they
wont be beaten again before the finals! (maybe the Eels will beat them again)

Tomorrow, I'll be going with the usual suspects in the NRL:

Manly Sea Eagles - Newcastle Knights 01 Apr 2023 14:00 Money Line Manly Sea Eagles @ 1.19 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
Brisbane Broncos - Wests Tigers 01 Apr 2023 18:35 Money Line Brisbane Broncos @ 1.14 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.057 mBTC

Yea I'm gonna follow you with those two.

This is interesting

With a google search there are a lot of Afrika Korps rings from the 1940's all very different .
Some look like DIY rings others more professionally done. Was there an official Nazi issued ring?

I see on the image in this link there is one shown just like the OP's

1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: March 30, 2023, 12:08:37 PM
I'm on the road until the weekend, so I'll probably just be making my selections from day to day.

Sydney Roosters - Parramatta Eels 30 Mar 2023 19:00 Money Line Sydney Roosters @ 1.51 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.076 mBTC

The Roosters are doing well while the Eels are echoing their early start to last year with patchy form.

The Raiders have played four games while the Panthers three yet both have won just one game. I can't help but wonder if the Panthers slum will continue for another round , so I'm going to bet on the Raiders.

Canberra Raiders - Penrith Panthers 31 Mar 2023 17:00 Money Line Canberra Raiders @ 3.94 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.197 mBTC

Both the Rabbitohs and Storm are fairly evenly matched on paper, but watching them play live the Rabbitohs have play stronger, so I'm going with the favoured team in their encounter.

South Sydney Rabbitohs - Melbourne Storm 31 Mar 2023 19:00 Money Line South Sydney Rabbitohs @ 1.54 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.077 mBTC

Well being favourites the Roosters beat the Eels by 28 - 20, happy enough with that
result.

Warriors v Panthers - IDK I think the Panthers will be hurting after last weeks late
defeat and will be itching to get some wins, I think I'll go with the Panthers.

Also the Womens Six Nations competition started last week.

https://womens.sixnationsrugby.com/fixtures/

Welsh would have been happy with last weeks result ... Wales 31 - 5 Ireland (Half time 28-0)

Tsitsipas has been not in his lucky day...sorry for your bet loose Trofo Sad

Meanwhile Sinner it seems is going to win easy against Ruusuvuori.
Well, there is a rain delay in this match but I don't think there is nothing much to do at this point for the finnish player.

Damn thats a bummer Trofo. I think at this stage Tsitsipas has let us down on matches
he "should" have won. I bet on him earlier in the tournament but in the later stages I limit
betting on him, I've just been let down too many times.

Sinner was too strong for Ruusuvuori, I did a bet on him to win the first set. I watched it
up until the rain interrupted play.
