I'm only doing 2 Six Nations bets this round, France to beat England @ 1.76 and Ireland
to beat Scotland @ 1.36 on Rollbit.

I'm not betting on Wales v Italy. I half think Italy because they are playing Wales  sorry Welsh
and they have performed really well this year, surprisingly well and then the other half of me
thinks Wales will turn the corner with this game and get to grips with their handling errors
and penalty count, so its too close to call for me.

Scotland v Ireland, Personally my thinking on Scotland is that they are filling a void. With
the fact that Wales are not performing this year and England are not the team they
once were Scotland look better. They have only beaten Wales and England, couldnt beat
France and I think Ireland will be tough for them also.

They are nice odds on Scotland but its a tough ask for them IMO.

Broncos are favourites against the Cowboys, didnt the Broncos start strong last season too?

and currently on half time its Eels 10 - 0 Sharks - Sharks could come back into this....

I put a $1 bet on the cowboys 🤐

And the Sharks did come back into it, 30 points in the second half to wing the game!

Yea in my mind I questioned the loaning of players too, It seems a bit of an odd concept.

In the NRL this week I havent placed any bets yet, I'll hold off until tomorrows games and
I thinking of going with these:

Roosters to beat the warriors @ 1.21
Dolphins to beat the Raiders @ 2.5 Huh
Storm to beat the Bulldogs @ 1.38

Broncos are favourites against the Cowboys, didnt the Broncos start strong last season too?

and currently on half time its Eels 10 - 0 Sharks - Sharks could come back into this....

Good point Daniel91 - things could change between now and the US Open.

Here in Europe there are currently no COVID-19 travel restrictions in place, I think the US
are probably one of very few countries with restrictions in place.

Anyone betting on todays Indian Wells matches? Its difficult to make a pick, I have only
two today Wawrinka to beat Vukic @ 1.45 and coming up soon Murray to beat Etcheverry @ 1.32.

Wawrinka just beat Vukic.

That sounds very messy indeed.

I did a google search on NRL Relegation System and came across this argument FOR such a
system, its from 2021 but its really interesting reading.

https://www.totalrl.com/forums/index.php?/topic/360913-do-you-support-a-promotionrelegation-system-in-the-nrl/

Quote
* Initially two teams relegated from bottom of the ladder

* 1 team promoted and relegated each year

* 14 strong NRL clubs

* New 10-team Championship (2nd division)

* Not as many blowouts

* More blockbuster games

* Huge interest in bottom placed NRL teams late in season

* Huge interest in top Championship teams late in season

* Brings back the Bears and Newtown

* Puts the onus on the clubs to get their houses in order

* Massive boost for bush football

* League on the Central Coast

* Loan player arrangements for promoted clubs

* Championship match of the round on TV Wednesday nights

Those bullet points all make for a great argument but it comes down to money and
like you say there must have been quite a sum passed to promote the Dolphins and
have an odd number of teams in the premiership.

I will be taking the book back temporarily to move on to Timelord2067.

There was me thinking 3 months ago that Timelord might have it for Christmas. Time is
moving on and there is still a lot of work to be done on this, hopefully we can get things
moving alone soon, I hope to take delivery next week all going well.

His #1 spot hangs in the balance at Indian Wells, if Alcaraz can manage to win the
tournament he will take that #1 spot back and if he fails Djokovic will remain at #1!

Alcaraz' main opposition will be the in form Medvedev, I'm not even sure if they are on the
same or opposite sides of the draw, it would make for a thrilling final!

1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: March 07, 2023, 10:39:48 PM
I hope someone learn one or two from my journey, if you can't afford Bitcoin, find a source of income first, enough to feed your needs and enough for savings or else you will go back to the last savior you have ( Your Bitcoin wallet) and spend it all to survive.
This is elite advice and anyone who couldn't read the whole thread should focus on this.
Bitcoin is not a way to make money, but an investment option to save up a part of your income for the future.

There is nothing that beats learning, maybe I would have had a different outcome if I focused more on learning. Because I will understand how valuable Bitcoin will be in the future.
Knowledge is invaluable. If one acquires knowledge before considering any investment their chances of being successful in the long run is much higher.
Successful in this context means either choosing the right asset and holding for a reasonable timeframe or avoiding wrong investments.

Agree, I have been saying this in other threads, Knowledge is key. Treat every day
as a school day!

As you learn more and more everyday you will realise why you need Bitcoin in your life.

What is remarkable is how the OP has never faltered in his quest to have Bitcoin, there
have been many opportunities to give up but has always been drawn to it. Brilliant.

Massive win.  After a couple of stumbles, the Dolphins romped home stunning everyone except the 30,000 supporters at Lang Park cheering them on.

Welcome to the premiership Dolphins!

Big win over a top team as predicted by yourself Timelord. I didnt bet on that game.

So are there other teams which could potentially fit into your relegation structure?
I'm sure there are in lower tier competitions, teams that are always at the top there
who would fill the place of relegated teams like....Wests Tigers

At the end of last season I would have definitely said - Wests Tigers (NSW), Canberra Raiders (notionally NSW) and the Gold Coast Titans (Qld).  The Titans have won exactly ONE game thus far, so it's too early to say if they are going to redeem themselves this year (and the Auckland Warriors based on last year's performance).

Round One wins and losses:  Not sure why, but the Storm game got refunded (but they were happy enough to take my money on the Parlay, not cancel it too)

Hey thats probably what happened to my bet too on Storm, I used Nitro too, I was so sure
I had placed that bet, so it just got refunded.

So yea instead of relegating a team this year they just added one more.

Round 15 of the United Rugby Championship starts up on Friday. Only 4 more rounds
before the Finals.

There aren't many decent odds on really, I have 3 ATM:

Stormers to beat the Sharks @1.3
Leinster to beat Edinburgh @1.23
Ulster to beat Cardiff @1.42

I forgot to mention that my 3 URC bets last weekend won, which is nice to balance
the NRL ones!

So this weekend coming we have R4 of the Six Nations and R2 of the NRL.

Have no idea what im betting on yet.

Thats interesting about the Dolphins, it will be very interesting to see how they go,
Timelord, would you have been familiar with them before this year?
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 07, 2023, 07:13:11 AM
I just heard today that Djokovic has been refused entry to the U.S because he doesnt
have a COVID-19 vaccination so wont be playing at Indian Wells.

I didnt think this was going to be an issue this year.

The draw for Medvedev is easier and its still on hard court so can he make it 4 in a row?
As to Rafa, there is absolutely no point for him to play on hard right now before the start of clay season Madrid, Monte-Carlo, Rome and RG! Hard is highly traumatic surface for him plus add some jet-lag, acclimatization etc issues which are likely to weaken his aging body. Much better for him to miss the US tournament series and get ready for clay season.
yeah i agree, i think if he had to make a decision, getting back on clay is the best option for him, if he felt ready enough for a tournament on hard court, he can use it as warm up, but clay seems to be the best to play on after and injury especially for Nadal.

I wonder if this is what we can expect going forward? that Nadal does not play a full
schedule, instead plays GS and Clay tournaments?

I just heard today that Djokovic has been refused entry to the U.S because he doesnt
have a COVID-19 vaccination so wont be playing at Indian Wells.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/mar/06/novak-djokovic-withdraws-from-indian-wells-amid-us-visa-row
I've seen this even long before, it was doubtful that Djokovic could go to United State for 2 ATP Masters tournaments namely Indiana Wells and Miami Open, it's really unfortunate but I think it's no longer a problem for him because he has accepted all the consequences of his decision regarding vaccines.
I'm actually more interested in waiting for confirmation whether Alcaraz will participate in this tournament, I saw his name in the draw but haven't found any news that his participation has been confirmed.

So Alcaraz is top seed and is only scheduled to play on Friday! and the big names are only
starting tomorrow, including Murray who is up against Etcheverry, I dont see the odds yet
on that match but I will probably back Murray.

I didnt think this was going to be an issue this year and if that policy holds up for the
year he will miss a good few important tournaments including possibly the GS.

The draw for Medvedev is easier and its still on hard court so can he make it 4 in a row?

Thats the thing, education is key. A lot people are attracted to Bitcoin by its market value.
Each person has unique reason to be interested in Bitcoin and to join this market. Nothing is wrong, bad or good by their first reason to join here.

Quote
They dont realise everything Bitcoin can offer besides being solely an investment.

And on investing for the future, its not just for weeks, months or even a year, its long term.
However, sometimes they don't mind what is Bitcoin all about. They simply feel convinced that Bitcoin is a tool to make them richer, and get richer quickly then they join. I used to feel very weird to know some people who buy, sell Bitcoin for about 2 years but did not know what is Bitcoin block explorer and don't know what is transaction hash (txid). They think after they make a transaction or withdraw their bitcoin from an exchange, it will be move quickly to a receiver. They have no knowledge about confirmation.

It means they must be educated more from very basics and they must be less lazy.

I would actually say that the opposite to this saying is true in the case of Bitcoin....

"A little knowledge is a dangerous thing"

With a little knowledge maybe the OP's friend would have bought at an opportune time
and instead lacking the knowledge will probably buy at Bitcoins ATH.

Nothing wrong with getting into Bitcoin to ride the market waves but you will almost
always fail in your goal without knowledge.
1433  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: March 06, 2023, 01:16:53 PM

Nah, I wouldnt say that Im posting this to encourage anyone to play / gamble. It is an activity that you should do on your own self conscious. Besides that, I only show 1 screenshot that show that I won from this slot and there are actually numerous count of bonus buy that ended up losing ( yeah lost most of them, not even money back on like 80% of the bonus buy that I had )
Right sharing these sort of winning slips are just to express our feelings that we have made a good win ir hit high multiplier on any slot with community members not to encourage any player to gamble more so he/she can hit the same.We feel happy seeing others on the same platform or say casino winning which also promotes the casino reputation in the end.So make your wagers according to yourself only.

Exactly those types of wins are not exactly made common knowledge on a daily basis so I
would be the same if I won that big, I would let everyone know I hit a jackpot.

I agree also that its good news for the Casino, it gets them into the limelight, gets people talking
and it spreads among the gambling community.
1434  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The love I have for bitcoin on: March 06, 2023, 07:27:06 AM
I think it's quite normal that as a group of friends that came into the crypto industry without even spending up to a year and we record a huge losses like that, so we felt like it can't recover the losses.
Most of them sold their holding at a loss an decide never to come back to the crypto space again,

If newbies understood that there were a lot of things worth considering other than bitcoin's value in terms of price, they wouldn't have gotten out so fast. The op's preference proves that the OP's friend isn't good enough at understanding:
- bitcoin volatility risk
- bitcoin functionality

If a beginner's love is shown for seeing bitcoin in all its advantages, then it will make them last a long time in any market situation.

Thats the thing, education is key. A lot people are attracted to Bitcoin by its market value.

They dont realise everything Bitcoin can offer besides being solely an investment.

And on investing for the future, its not just for weeks, months or even a year, its long term.
I think the OP is the only one of that group of friends who

a.) did a bit of research and
b.) realised a long term outlook

Because of the destructive nature of war post war development takes skilled and
experienced people and companies to rebuild so construction and development
companies will benefit from what is happening in Ukraine because in the contested areas
there is little left.

Also the development which has to take place needs to be financed, so there will be plenty
of investment funds and companies tripping over themselves to get all or part of
the massive growth available.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 05, 2023, 03:13:33 PM
Medvedev being able to win the ATP Dubai is not surprising especially after he was able to beat Djokovic in the semifinals so when in the final he faced Rublev it was relatively an easier match than in the semifinals so he could quickly finish the match and become a champion.

What was surprising was how Alex De Minaur was able to win at ATP Alcapulco because I didn't think he would be able to get through the semifinals when he faced Rune but it turned out that he was able to do it as well as in the final he beat Tommy Paul where in the semifinals he beat Fritz in a long and tiring match, in 3 sets De Minaur beat Paul.

Yes an easy win in the end for Medvedev. I like Rublev as well as Medvedev but Andrey
but in my mind he isnt progressing. He cannot seem to get on top of his emotions either.
Daniil mentioned that this season he is working with a mental coach this year, I think
thats actually clear over the last 3 tournaments, he seems to have control over his emotions
on court compared to how he used to be.

de Minaur v Rune, Rune was suffering from cramps in the third set, he made something
like 57 unforced errors. His service game and movement were affected.

Well done to de Minaur for taking the title after beating Paul who had a gruesome
match against Fritz.
