On the women's side, Swiatek has been knocked out by Rybakina, is anyone betting
on the women's side? I have only had 1 bet that's it, it's very unpredictable.
I lost a 10 match parlay because of this match, stupid enough to place a bet on the match against the Wimbledon champion as i did not anticipated this upset in direct sets and not just because of her number 1 ranking but considering Iga Swiatek was in great form throughout the week and she could not handle Elena Rybakina and to loose the match without much fight is disappointment. It is better to wage a bet on live matches rather than pre match bets.
It is though to react to new situations. Swiatek was virtually unchallenged in the last couple of big tournaments and she did not have practice with close matches. I know it sounds as a weak explanation but when you are steamrolling trough your opponents you don't have to think about plan B or grinding it out.

Rublev - Rune is the match to watch for me tonight. I can't decide who is closer to winning so that is usually a good sign to place an over games bet. Both players are known for bad and good streaks in the matches and I wouldn't be surprised with 5 sets here.

...and 5 sets it is and now 5-5 in the final set. Looks like Rune is having trouble finishing
it out, he was 4-1 up! .

EDIT
Ah it's very close between these, tie break now in the final set.

Damn - never knew that round in the 7's was on.

Argentina won the men's and New Zealan won the women's.

Sydney, Australia this coming weekend, I will try and make a few bets for that.

On the overall standings NZ lead the field but there is very little 16 points between
1st and 8th place ATM.

On the women's side it's really between 3 teams who have taken all three spots in the last
3 rounds, NZ, AUS and USA. Going forward I suspect the games will be a bit more predictable
than the men's.

@Timelord2067 - sometime soon one of those big paying parlays have to work out !

Interesting reading...

There is no doubt the competition got MASSIVE attention and participation. There was a
lot of merit awarded throughout and this attracted more participation.

I think the main goal in participating by some was purely for the merit and not the prizes.

Even the background (wall) in their pictures looks the same.
you mean this?

Looking at those 3 images, what is also visible is the bed frame I think it's a bed

Sinner is 2 sets down now, I wonder if he has all the tools to be able to turn this match
around? personally I don't see it either.

Murray v RBA up soon as well as Dimitrov v Djokovic, hopefully Dimitrov takes the first
set from Djokovic and we get a value bet because it's hard to see Djokovic losing.
Murray does not look good, he is fighting but he can barley walk between the points at the moment. Sort of expected with two five setters back to back. Would be heroic if he can turn this one as well.

Djoković is wrapping thing up in his usual way, it was a though first set but after that it was all Djoković with just a couple of good points by Dimitrov here and there. By the way Djoković also had some injury problems, this is the best opportunity for many players to actually win Grand Slam title. Just push trough and hope Djoković stumbles along the way, most top players are out already.

I got a bet on Djokovic at 6-6 in the first set, his odds went out to 1.35, not fantastically
brilliant but not bad on Djokovic.

1586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mini bull run or short Squeeze (manipulation) ? on: January 22, 2023, 09:08:32 AM
Bitcoin is not pumping (pumping demands a follow up dump). It is rising and in my opinion the main reason is simply because it was undervalued (a reverse bubble) so it had to correct and go back to realistic values.
After all the dump itself was manipulation to push the price to unrealistically low levels.
Realistic value? So in your opinion at what level should it be staying if all the dump made few months ago was just a solid manipulation. We can say it is, but some institution are probably unload their bags due to the recession that we have experience and we all knew cash is the best weapon during recession.
There's no such thing as realistic value simply because its market price is determine by demand which means sky is the limit. Institutions might be holding longer I think, for sure they have entered already at $15k and are only waiting for a huge pump. Economic recession I guess has nothing to do with this one. For sure they are not dumb enough to put their threshold into another investment which is too volatile. What we are seeing might be a temporary spike with the prices due to mixed factors; the report and other related news in this industry. But this is something to look forward to for this year given how long the market remained on dip last quarter of the previous year.

Tes, the markets are fickle and I think they are still heavily leveraged. This new little pump up
could well have been as a result of short trades getting liquidated which in turn pump the
price, which in turn liquidates more short trades, and so on.

I can imagine that a lot of long trades have been placed by traders thinking the market is going
to keep rising, which means that eventually they are going to get liquidated causing a fall back.

Cannot believe Medvedev is out, well done to Korda.
I believe Medvedev is becoming a very average player, he hasn't really been able to build
on his success of 2021.

1588  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN/INTEREST] B.Y.O.B. "Be Your Own Bank" coin series has ended on: January 21, 2023, 07:08:52 AM
Which sets are still for purchase?

So there is still coins from each release still available? If so how much per each silver wallet?

Series 1, 2, 3 are sold out.
Series 4 coin set will still be for sale while available: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5368199.0
They are $50 in fiat or crypto Cheesy

I have a set of the series 4 "Hope and Despair".
For a 2 coin set with holograms, certificates and presentation boxes the price
of $50 is really good value.

So you can buy the series 4 set from the thread above or you can buy some empty
presentation boxes to use for other coins of the same size.

Well we are used to Djokovic losing one set at grand slams in the first couple of rounds. He always losses one set them dominates the opponents. Djokovic lost the second set then destroyed his opponent but what is worring is that he has that injury and hopefully it wont slow him down. Next match against Dimitrov will be intense.
Djokovic always seems to struggle sometimes but everything will return to his level unless his opponent can really make him down, an injury will make him doubtful when he is in the 3rd round, quarterfinals and so on because he will start to face tougher opponents as it will be against Dimitrov later but from H2H Djokovic is far superior.

Sinner 2 set down from Fucsovic was quite surprising even though in the next set he played better and ended up winning the match.

That was impressive by Sinner to drop the first two sets against Fucsovics and
come back to win the final 3 sets 1-6, 2-6 and 0-6 - fairly easy in the end.

That's the "5 set" mentality, one one side, the player may not have the strength to
carry the momentum into the third set after winning the first two and on the other
side a player has to more or less play a 3 set match and has the mental strength
to do so.

Sinner has been quietly going about his business these are the first two sets he
has dropped so far.

This is surely the start of a very important project and continuing on from a foundations
of a failed one. There is no doubt with the crew who are involved now Xprim777, Polymerbit,
Owlcatz and Cygan
that this is going to be massive.

The downfall of Coldkey has sparked this into life with new ideas and there is already
a very receptive audience waiting with anticipation for it to take full flight.

I started my Bitcoin collectibles collection with Polymerbit and will surely back this at
some stage.

Yea unbelievable by Murray, that was a 5 hour 45 minute match, a bit of a marathon really.
Murray's next match against Roberto Bautista Agut has to be compromised now for sure,
how much does he have left? is a big question.

Did anyone pick up any decent odds on Djokovic today after he dropped the second set
tie break against Couacaud today?

On the WTA side Ons got beaten today by Vondrousova kind of easy enough, 6-1, 5-7, 6-1
Betting on the women's side really is tricky.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 19, 2023, 07:19:19 AM
What a boring men's draw this year.

Alcaraz out, Nadal out, Medvedev in terrible form.

This is seriously going to be Novak's easiest Australian Open ever.

When Novak serves well he is almost impossible to beat. If you recall in 2021 he served the most aces and dominated the tournament. He didn't even drop a set to a red hot Medvedev in the final.

Novak is going to cruise to the final and destroy whoever he faces he is in amazing form.
This isn't going to be boring. Tennis is all about the stamina and we don't know when injury happens. In other games we can have substitutes and here it is to declare as injury and walk out. Already Nadal and Alcaraz out of the tournament is a part. We've got more new players who can be identified through this tournament. With the winning against Nadal, Mackenzie McDonald have made himself an emerging opponent. Tournaments will be interesting as the chances for matches to go one sided is very low.

Agree KennyR, Tennis isn't just about a handful of players, there are more capable players,
and others who can give us plenty of enjoyment. I agree though that Djokovic is going to
go to the final.

The number 2 seed is out, Ruud was beaten in 4 sets by Brooksby, that's a but upset,
so many had Ruud tipped to be one of the very few to be able to strongly challenge Djokovic.
1596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 18, 2023, 07:05:43 PM
Big news - Nadal has been beaten by McDonald in straight sets. Nadal suffered an injury in
the third set and went off court for a medical timeout but returned to complete the match.
Not actually a surprise, I was talking against Nadal even before AO started. Granted even more in some other topics related to Sportsbet specials. This was most likely scenario from the start of the tournament. Not sure exactly when injury happened but it was much sooner than 3rd set, he was already injured in second set for sure, had big problems with movements and tried to shorten the points as much as possible.

Yeah, I think his body is showing signs of failing this year, and we have heard him about this numerous times because the start of the tournament that he is not 100% etc, so in the second round it just shows, lost to McDonald in straight sets. And if ever he get pass him here, for sure it will be a difficult path for him and most likely he will lost along the way

Nadal got get pain in his hip in the second set. Of course he can not do anything about that. Obviously the pain was too much that he could no longer move properly.
But I do not understand why he did not stop the match then. So he had a higher risk of doing more damage. But as the defending champion he certainly hope that it still goes a bit or that the opponent makes mistakes. But that was not the case.

Yea I also mentioned last week that Nadal was an unknown coming into the AO.

TBH IMO depending on the seriousness of the injury we might not see Nadal winning
much at all this year.

Boom Raducanu out.

My first bet in this year's competition was against Raducanu, she had tough opposition
with Gauff, it was always going to end like this.

Ruud had a tough one against Machac? and dropped a set,
I watched this one and it was actually a very good performance by Machac. If he was playing any player outside top 10 he would have won probably. Ruud is actually one of my favorites now for AO. Never liked him much but you gotta give him consistency, he very rarely disappoints and doesn't give much via unforced errors. This year that could be enough to come far in the draw. Did not check later stages so I don't know when he gets Djoković but nobody else will be a big favorite to win against Ruud.

Yes he is consistent and can remain mentally focussed and level headed, some people
would probably say boring. I would agree now himself and Medvedev are the ones posing
a threat to Djokovic.

1598  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Influencers, affiliate links and scams on: January 17, 2023, 10:56:31 PM
I don't follow any influencers other than the likes of Michael Saylor on Twitter, if
he can be classed as an influencer.

I pay less than zero regard for anything others than Bitcoin, probably an exception
for Litecoin and Montero but outside those I don't care for them.

The way I see it is Influencers promote "crypto" not Bitcoin. They promote projects
which they themselves benefit from. It's sad that so many people can't see it?
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 17, 2023, 06:53:24 PM

Yeah, why not though? maybe sport bookies saw that Diego is very inconsistent with this huge event that sometimes he exited early. But against a unknown player, perhaps Diego can still pull it through.

He is 2.38 underdog at Stake, (seems to be the ML odds are not yet listed on Sportsbet though). So that is a good bet in my opinion and best of luck.

I'll just pass on today's betting, just enjoying live games that I can watch today. Djokovic vs Carballes Baena playing.

I watched Diego today and he was moving very well and was hitting hard. I think he'll beat JJ.

Yeah, I didn't bet much today. Nothing exciting on.

If you want to make some easy money I suggest putting a large bet on Novak to win the trophy.

It won't be paying much but it is as certain a bet as you'll find.

Yea myself and buwaytress have already been through that idea about betting on Djokovic.
Better off the bet match by match and pounce on the odds offered if he goes a set or two
down early on.

Guys, he is 1.77 to win outright - are they not good odds before the tournament even
kicks off?

That's the whole point... you don't even get your stake back as winnings IF he wins the final. Why not go for him now at handicap or live bet after going a set or two down. Martingale that way if you want, you'll end up with more money if you do that every round till the final.

One slip and you lose everything, just not worth it (to me).

Some interesting results today, Djokovic breezed through his 3 sets, Murray got the job
done against Berrettini, Ruud had a tough one against Machac? and dropped a set,
Rune was efficient with his 3 setter and Zverev took 5 sets to win.

I haven't started betting on this yet, I want to see who is performing well
1600  Economy / Collectibles / Re: FUNDED COLLECTIBLES on: January 17, 2023, 01:46:17 PM
I don't own any loaded/funded collectibles mostly because I could see myself having
to peel them to access the funds out of necessity. It has always been in the back of my mind
that I would not necessarily be the only one with the private keys no disrespect to any of the active
makers here intended
. This outlook has held me back from expanding my collection.

But.....with all the discussion around key generation and work flow by other makers it does shed
some light as to what a conscientious procedure should be.

And I applaud everyone who will carry on and support the loaded projects.

Personally I will probably continue holding off on loaded/funded collectibles instead I would
opt for a DIY collectible.
