A classic game today between wawrinka and murray, even if both players are not what they used to be especially wawrinka they managed to put quite the show, it was a really competitive match that ended with a 2 1 win for murray but it wasn't easy at all, even the odds were really close and am sure gamblers managed to win some money.
I was surprised to see Murray's odds to win @1.5, I thought it was going to be lower considering the fact the Wawrinka been out of competitions in the last few years and Murray on the other hand played well on some grand slams and big tournaments, Wawrinka did put up a good fight though with Murray, but sadly Stan is not the man anymore 😔

I had two bets on yesterday, Murray to beat Wawrinka and Norrie to beat Rune.

I watched most of Murrays win, it was a great match, the skills on display by
both were amazing, Wawrinka's single handed backhand is still amazing and
Murrays running shots and volleys are too along with his serve which in the
end got him the win IMO.

For this weeks round I have only 3 wagers:

Panthers to beat Storm
Cowboys to beat the Roosters

Sharks to beat Wests Tigers

Updating my bets from last weekends round 22 from the NRL and it really wasnt supposed
to turn out the way it did with the top two losing but still retaining their positions. The Roosters
needed that win over the Cowboys to stay in the top 8.

Interestingly Rabbitohs play Panthers, will the Panthers be able to at least score this coming round?
Rabbitohs held the Eels scoreless last weekend.
2363  Economy / Economics / Re: Tips to save my finances, to grow personal economy on: August 15, 2022, 01:02:11 PM
As a very frugal person, here are my tips.

  • 1. Decide on how much you are willing to save and then automatically deduct that from your pay, or at least immediately move it to your savings. If you never see the money, you will never feel like you have to spend it.
  • 2. If you don't have enough left over to pay bills, then you are living above your means, and you must cut back. That includes where you live and what you drive.
  • 3. Pay off your credit cards every month. If you can't pay off your credits cards every month, then you are spending more than you make.
  • 4. There are many people that get by with less money than you. If they can do it, so can you.
  • 5. Stop showing off. Nobody is actually impressed or intimidated by your expensive shit.

I started at a low-paying job and saved about 10%. As my pay increased, so did my percentage. Now I am saving 30% of my pay. I don't miss it because I live like my pay is 30% less than it actually is.

The fifth point is especially important, many people I know fall into the trap of comparing themselves to their neighbors and often buy stuff they do not need or want just because their neighbors did it, also people need to stop buying brand stuff, luxury cars and all kind of unnecessary stuff, a regular car fulfills 99% of the needs you may have for a fraction of the cost, and the same is true for the majority of luxury goods we can find when compared to their regular counterparts.

Yes, so many people fall for this, we call it "Keeping up with the Jones' " so many people feel
the need to match their neighbours.

On personal finances, there are really great ideas and tips on this thread but what strikes me and
this is probably applies to a lot of people, I was never taught any of this in school? these are
important lessons and some I sadly learned after working 20 years and just after getting into BTC.
I spend the previous 20 years SPENDING instead of SAVING.

Now we all can move to Cincinnati where too many exciting matches going to play after few hours I am waiting for match between Wawrinka vs Murray Two veteran players are going to face each other.

Yes, the two "recoverers" in action against each other. I have a bet on for Andy to win.
It seems to me that Andy is far more advanced in his recovery and he might be at his
maximum now but Stan still has a bit to go. It should be an interesting match though.

It looks like everyone is here for the tournament and Kyrgios is set to play Davidovich Fokina
in the round od 64 matches but no date, I would actually expect him to win that if his head is right!

Small update on postage, going forward from 1st of September I will only be covering
$2 of the postage costs.

I am expecting the first deliveries to be made this week, I would say towards the end and
the EU deliveries to be made first.

It would be great if everyone could let me know either by PM or here in the thread when
they receive their packages.

Yes I was thinking the same. This is his first win this year and is not someone I think of
as being a finalist in any of the tournaments but Hurkacz is in my mind a finals candidate.
I didnt bet on this one, really didnt know how it would end.

In the womens tournament in Toronto Halep won the final there beating Haddad Maia over
3 sets. I watched most of the match and it looks like Halep "is back".

I no longer check the price of Bitcoin every day. Setting long and short trading positions
will definitely leave the OP feeling very anxious. Its risky business, a far more stress free
play is to just Buy the Dips and DCA.

The majority of us as commented above are not tied into what the market is doing, it matters
only to the traders and speculators and can create a lot of stress.

Really good to see that you are accepting btc as payment for your store and above that also training staff how to use the wallets and make transactions.Want to ask are there are any stores or shop in your locality doing the same like accepting btc or you are the one? I don't see many accepting it unless you are big store but small merchants also accepting it will surely boost the adoption and awareness about bitcoin globally.Hope you have more customers with you paying in bitcoin.

Yes indeed that sounds great, the OP said themselves that they wanted an edge over the
competitors and Bitcoin is that edge. and what is interesting is that they also mentioned that there
was "increasing number of crypto-paying customers"

This also means that the competitors and other business will consider offering Bitcoin payments
and so the usage and awareness increases. Its entrepreneurs like the OP who can aid in the adoption
and awareness of Bitcoin, Brave moves and big steps, Well done.

After losing Wimbledon final against Djokovic as he was playing most of the people's he is going to be in prime form and surely will give good encouragement to his fans but sadly in this match he was doing good in first two sets but suddenly lost his touch and lost third set by score of 6 - 1 which was a big shock for me as well because as he was playing in last few matches I also place a big bet on him as I was feeling free money but this all gone very quickly.

Now, in upcoming matches we have to check him again how is he doing and can he handle this all positively or no because he is a good player but still need some more changes which can bring back him into good position beating Medvedev is surely a good achievement for him but now losing against Hurkarz is also a fact.

Kyrgios is always a lot more motivated to play against top players such as Medvedev (you also saw the same on Wimbledon, where he sometimes struggled against low ranked players and than played brilliantly against higher ranked players). Didn't expect Kyrgrios to loose against Hurkacz but there is no such thing as free money.

I dont know if you watched Kyrgios in last few matches he looked really tired and before in this thread i even said that he might get defeated early in the tournament due to him not being so fit. He played too many matches and needs to rest before the US Open
I've already said before here that I won't expect Kyrgios to keep playing with the same level in the upcoming tournaments, he gets frustrated easily and he's a moody guy, he can play a match a certain way and show a different face in the next, I don't advise anyone to bet in his favor, only occasionally.

Early this year I was dead set against betting on Kyrgios but since Wimbledon I thought
he had a slightly different outlook and I backed hima few times which worked out mostly
and I mad some Satoshi's with him.

I will be wary again on the next tournament though.

Hurkacz have moved to the finals defeating Ruud in an interesting match where he lost the first set and won the 2nd and 3rd sets. The first set was quite fighting whereas the remaining sets went as an one sided game. Today he's playing on the doubles semifinal along with Zieliński against Evans and Peers.

Well done to him! I wanted to bet on that match but really didnt know what way to go,
TBH I was kind of edging towards Ruud, he has shown better performances this year
compared to Hurkacz IMO.

Well great surprise for me , i cant see the game but when i go back to my home a huge victory against Australia in this second game.
Really good to see the Pumas lifting the heads like this way. Lets keep in this path.

Damn it, I forgot about the Rugby Championship this weekend again!

Thats a big win by Argentina with a big score too 48 - 17 >
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/aug/14/wallabies-thrashed-by-argentina-in-record-rugby-championship-defeat

Reading that report above it looks like there was somee bad refereeing decisions
but I'm not sure Australia would have wone anyway.

Quote
It was the Pumas’ biggest-ever win over the Australians and, on the back of the thumping
bonus-point victory, they moved to the top of the four-nation standings.

Does anyone know what the odds on Argentina to win were?and did anyone have them backed?

2372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 13, 2022, 01:17:50 PM

I had a bet on Kyrgios last night against De Minaur and he despatched him easily enough,
6-2, 6-3. He plays Hurkacz in the quarter final today which I think he should also win.

Looking at the remaining players I cant see anyone beating him with his current form
provided he can hold it and stay fit with high energy.
A big disappointment, I too expected him to be the winner against Hurkacz. Things have taken place in the opposite way. The first two sets were of good fight from both the players, but the third one was a big disappointment and went as a one sided set. Losing the match 64-77, 77-65, 1-6 which could've made big bets end up losing.
A lot of people lost their bets on that game, i would call it an upset considering how good was kyrgios playing recently, he was doing good on the first two sets we were witnessing a great match but it all changed on the third set when kyrgios lost his focus and he had six double faults which helped hurkacs win easily.

Yes, I guess the winning streak for us and Kyrgios has ended, but as you can see it's very close, the first two sets was really tight, going into a tie breaks. And it the 3rd set, it seems that Nick already lost, looks very tired already.

Nevertheless, with his recent wins, he will be seeded now come US Open. So that will be very interesting to see how Nick will be at that biggest stage. So it will be the familiar Hurkacz vs Ruud in the first semis.

TBH and I'm not saying this because I lost my small bet on Kyrgios v Hurkacz but while I was
thinking of the bet I did consider two factors pertaining to Nick's game:

1. he doesnt play a full Tennis schedule  which leads to point
2. his fitness levels cannot be the same as the guys on tour "full time"

But I went ahead anyway and bet on him! and TBH I will be following him on his next tournament.
In the end I have made some Satoshi's on his winning streak.
2373  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [IDEA] 🌍🌎🌏 Community group participation - Bitcoin Colouring Book on: August 13, 2022, 06:47:19 AM
My thoughts on that are, once we get one to lead, they could reach out to the others. Max and Stacy are pretty good about responses on Twitter. I could see them being the ones to get such a concept going.  I would especially if you donated to a Bitcoin Beach charity or something, it might really catch her attention.

No offence Mark but while I like your enthusiasm that would be far and above what
I had planned. I certainly wouldnt be the person to persue that avenue, and I would concur
with @Cryptogreatdane.

But! maybe some of the legends who have been on this board and are still here would be
up for participating?

I really wanted this like the original Colouring Book to be specific to the forum and to
make it "our" community event.

@owlcatz - yea thats a nice twist and something which goes with my idea above.

@xSlyy - sounds interesting! especially the beer part!

I just checked in with ROLLBIT to see if they have listed the Outrights and they do as follows for the winner:

I'm definitely going to have to check that service out.

I was gob-smacked to learn the Storm beat The Panthers 16 - 0 last night.  It is the first time the Panthers have been scoreless in seven years.  The last time was against the Storm and also at Penrith Park oval where they played last night.

What a strange game, I was following the score line on and off at work. ZERO points
scored by the Panthers and ZERO points scored in the second half by either team,
was anyone playing in the second half? did everyone go home? Joking aside do the
Panthers have their eye on the finals already and are they "saving" themselves for those?

2376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 12, 2022, 06:23:27 AM
Kyrgios has momentum, he is playing great, had his chance against Djokovic as well, and won all other matches since Wimbledon

not sure about winning Montreal, but after kicking out Medvedev, he has an open road to final stages, and that could be an easy task, if he continues this way

as I already said, Medvedev is not no.1 potential, he ended up there as coincidence
Yeah, I do agree that Nick has now the momentum and I will be riding on his in this tournament. Maybe bet on him if the player that he will be facing is not name Djkovic or Nadal.

As for Medvedev, another disastrous year for him, probably a number 1 seed that is not as consistent as the others before him who become the top seed, like the big 3. Still though, he will have to prove himself again in the next tournament.
In last few weeks, we are having some good changes in Nick Kyrgios, and now he is doing amazing game after losing final against Djokovic in Wimbledon now he is on winning streak and with this win against Medvedev now his confidence and game is on their high level if he is going to play like this for some more time then surely he is going to be at top with some great results and here in this tournament he can win his second title in a row.

Medvedev is surely one of the best player in current era but sadly due to some trouble and restrictions he is facing some trouble, but soon he can fight back and can give his best for the game.

2380  Economy / Collectibles / [LIVE] 🌍🌎🌏 Community Project - Bitcoin Colouring Book - RAFFLE PENDING on: August 11, 2022, 12:23:17 PM
Hi All,

I have had this idea from the very start of the Bitcoin Colouring Book project andI think and hope people find
it interesting and will participate apologies for all the "ands"

The idea is to have a group of people around the world colour part of 1 book, lets say #50
and then raffle it off for free!

The group of people would be chosen by raffle also.

I kick it off, colour 1 page and then post to the next person who in turn colours a page of
their liking and posts it on. Obviously you will incur a cost of having to post it to the next
in line.

The last and 12th person in the line holds the book until the raffle is complete and then
posts it to the winner.

Its supposed to be a fun project and another give back to the community and should also
gain added value from being created in part by the group and potentially some legends of the Collectibles Board

So post up what you think!

Here is the list of participants from 21/08/2022

Markzellers mx12.levins
xSlyy
Cryptogreatdane
owlcatz
doblezero

minerjones
giammangiato
MoparMiningLLC
ZipReg
Timelord

Timelord

Ok so this is how I see it happening:

1. One page for everyone except Timelord2067 as he would like two of his mates to
colour a page each, and he bought 2 books which I guess are for those mates, I'm ok with that.[/i][/sup]

2. As mentioned above its freestyle so you can colour a printed page how you like, pencil,
pen, marker*, paint, pastel**, airbrush if you have the skill or collage, but I would
like if the blank pages are kept blank. Everyones ability is different, I think we all understand that,
so no worries about what you can or cannot do, it has to be enjoyable.

3. You can pick whatever page is available, obviously except person #12 on the list, but those
people who are the last positions on the list get to see in the flesh all of the other work!

4. We have 3 continents involved, Europe, Australia and America, I guess we send the book East,
there is no point sending it to Australia to come back to Europe then on to America and back again
to Europe, So I think we keep it as fluid as this:

I know doblezero is in Europe so I will lost the book there, when he/she is finished they post their
work in the thread and the next European puts their hand up and doblezero posts to them. what do you all think?
I have made a list predetermining the journey of the book.

5. Once the book is posted initially by myself, I wont see it again. At the end the person in 12th spot
holds onto the book until the winner of the raffle/auction is decided.

6. Raffle or Auction? a free raffle for the BCT community or an Auction to be split 11 ways for all the Artists?
or charity as mentioned earlier on?

* using felt tip markers with result in a lot of bleeding I'm suspecting and may not be handy in finer details

** pastels, chalk or wax, will need fixing when complete.
