Two Croatians playing today - Čilić is a big favorite against Ramos-Vinolas but it will be interesting to see how Čorić will fare against Brooksby.
Brooksby is marked as a slight favorite - but after winning Cincinatti with only 1 lost set (against Nadal), I will be betting on Borna today.
He was really bad against Couacaud though - whereas Brooksby demolished Lajović.

Another familiar thing with Nick, US Open: Nick Kyrgios complains of fan smoking marijuana during his second-round win. In the second set Kyrgios, who is facing legal action from a fan he said was "drunk out of her mind" at Wimbledon, said a member of the New York crowd was smoking marijuana.
The 27-year-old swore when explaining that to the umpire and added that it could harm players who suffered from asthma, as he does.
"People don't know I'm a heavy asthmatic," said Kyrgios after the match.
"When I'm running side to side, I'm struggling to breathe, [it's] probably not something I want to be breathing in between points."
As play resumed, the umpire asked spectators to "refrain from smoking around the court". And so Felix AA is out in the 3rd round, lost in 3 sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to Jack Draper. Medvedev is also getting through the next round. The match is going to be interesting now. @cryptofrka - yes, it's going to be interesting how the two Croats are going to play because they are facing tough opponents. Maybe a over bet is not that bad as a parlay.

But one can also feel sorry for Nick. So many people in the audience bothering him. The break from Jack Draper in the first set made Felix AA nervous. And in service games 2 and 3 from Felix AA, Jack Draper fought his way back and almost managed a break there as well. After that everyone played through their service game and there was no much fight anymore.

WTF is wrong with the guy, its all just an act, part of what he does, is it to try and disrupt his opponent or something? He is still able to win though, it doesnt seem to be affecting him that much so what is his problem. He plays Wolf next and should win that.

Cilic vs Ramos is going to be interesting. I agree, Brooksby is a good player and I personally like how he plays. But I don't know if he will be able to win against his next opponent. I am not so confident about Borna either because recently his performance was not the best. So in that comparison, Brooksby is going to be the better bet in my opinion. I understand simple things. Things like you cannot blame someone else for your bad performance. I am not saying that he blamed it on the spectators. But it seems like he feels he had a bad performance and it was very much affected by the spectators. Obviously, that is going to have some problems for the players but they should be able to handle those things. I am also not saying that it is okay to do those things. That certain person should obviously be brought under the law. But at the same time, the player should also not give an excuse.

You need to admit, Kyrgios always gives us some nice headlines! He is crazy but tennis would be a lot more boring if he wouldn't be here. Guess Trofo was correct in his analysis to not bet on Kyrgios (-2.5 handicap) as he won in 4 sets.

Brooksby won easily, Čorić barely appeared on court today. I expected way more from him considering that he was in a great form before US Open.
Čilić breezed through, as expected. He's facing a really difficult draw though - he's playing Norrie next and in case he wins, he's facing Alcaraz.

probably just to tired and unexperienced to play great tennis week after week expected more from him as well, but after losing second set in tie-break, it was pretty obvious that he surrender (in case he won that one, things could end-up different) Alcaraz is playing strong, but opponent is really slow, and Rublev is solid, but I do not expect much from him, it is not clay after all

I am also disappointed with his lost as I was feeling he can go through until last eight or four because he was doing amazing in last few matches, but today he was not able to stand against Brooksby which give him stunning defeat in three straight sets. Right now, too many players are busy with their scheduled matches and mostly are in good position for qualifying into next round Sinner and Alcaraz won their matches in straight sets, Roblev and Norrie are busy and having healthy lead of 2 - 0 sets in third set. In women's mostly are progressing with their mark Swiatek, Bencic and Williams are already in next round with bang.

Why do you consider Rublev as clay player? Without looking at his stats I would say he has similar results on all surfaces but if he has best surface that should be fast hard court. Just the type they have at US Open. He is more of a form player than turf specialists for me. He is playing high risk shots and when he is in good form they end up on the lines, when he is not they end up outside and he looses with loads of unforced errors. Lost my multi today on Stephens, needed her to take just one more game but she broke apart beginning of second set and I knew how it would end. Really thought she will manage to push Swiatek today. Home turf and she already has US open title but it wasn't enough.

Nadal won against Fognini, in H2H Nadal leads againts Fognini but when I saw himself losing in the first set and Fognini leading 4-2 in the second set I thought he would have a problem here but Nadal could handle that well after the second set he almost has no difficulty getting points and won easy.

It's a 5 setter so there is a good chance to make a huge comeback but I would say that it is somewhat scary for those who back up Nadal to win at ML and pour a lot of money on him. One of my favorite in the women's division has lost already, Fernandez lost in straight sets against Samsonova, ouch. Madison Keys vs Coco Gauff in the 3rd round, two Americans could be a good fight.

Thats it exactly, the Grand Slams are different in that way, over 5 sets losing the first and being behind in the second is manageable for those with the experience. Those without the experience would more than likely struggle over 5 sets The best example I can think of is the French open of 2021, Tsitsipas won the first two sets but Djokovic won the next 3 to take the title.

The issue with Tsitsipas has always been his work ethic and stamina. He's a very talented and naturally gifted player but he always falls short in long matches where its not only about the quality of shots but the stamina becomes very important. Especially against players like Djokovic, who I'd consider as peak human fitness, in terms of tennis player levels. There's hardly anyone in the world who can outlast Djokovic. In the match between Fognini vs Nadal, Fognini was all guns blazing from the get go, while Nadal knew that he can clearly outlast Fognini and just kept the match going. Fognini was visibly tired and frustrated around 4-4 in the second set and that's where the tables turned. Nadal never looked back from there on.

This US open is absolutely full of surprises and I think it's because of betting because otherwise I see no reason for top players to simply "trow" the game in that manner. At this point , Serena might take it all and with a well deserved play style as we all see that she is still capable of playing high intense tennis. However, this US open really left he fans with a lemon taste overall as this is not what they expected or even got tickets for.

She will not, this one is for Swiatek to take, there is nobody even close to her level of play at the moment. She lost a bit of focus on smaller tournament but seems like US Open is enough to wake her up. Watched her against Stephens and it looked brutal. I don't even see her loosing a set or playing a tie break on the way.

In a five-sets match, there are more chances for anyone to make a good comeback even if he is trailing two- zero. Due to the fact that in a five-sets match, a player gets enough time to figure out what his opponent's weak points are. And by doing so he can also adjust accordingly. However, it is obvious that it is not an easy task, tt is quite a challenge. It is especially difficult when you are down two sets in a row. But what I am trying to say is there is a chance even if it is a slight one.

I agree, chances that S. Williams will win the title are very small, she hasn't won a (big) tournament the last couple of years and Swiatek is too good for the moment. Just placed a small bet on Swiatek to take the title at freebitco.in at an odd of 2.67, which is not bad at all.

STAN WAWRINKA (RETD.) 4-6 6-7 CORENTIN MOUTET -snip Taking his age into account I would say this is also one of his last tournaments. Also let's see how far Kyrgios is going to make it yeah, pitty for Wawrinka to be early out, but obviously he had some injuries lately, and taking age into consideration, it was a bit expected Kyrgios could make it far, but it all depends on his head, focus on a pitch is simply not his thing looking at Medvedev, he started well, but it was a first round and really unknown and fairly unmotivated opponent I am not sure when Nadal would meet Kyrgios, but it comes across as if a few big names are missing. When we had Federer and Djokovic, it was always something a tennis fan was looking forward to. Now without Djokovic I would say that a tough game between Nadal and Kyrgios would be fun to watch again. I am not so sure whether I would find any other game overly exciting. Medvedev when he is in good shape, maybe Ruud can give Nadal a hard fight. If Nadal doesn't get any mysterious injury again, I think it's very likely he'll make it to the final. The fact alone that he can once more move a step away from Djokovic in the GS statistics is immense motivation to him.
