Small and big owners keep dumping

The price keep on dropping, what's the deal?

Whats the reason for Bots to keep pushing down price ? , yes they can get more MN if they want
but there is the risk of more and more people getting disinterest in DRK , then what , they are stuck with MN that keeps getting less valuable ?
They are creating a small group of People with a lot of MN ? , Mining is ( and will not ) be interesting anymore , end of game.
Believe it is not smart to keep pushing down but there must probably be a reason why it is interesting for them.

There are some fairly big orders in the order book on Cryptsy...

My guess is that the bots are working towards getting those 25+ BTC orders filled.

My guess:

Onyx was supposed to be the stable release.  How many updates and/or mini forks have we had now?  How many times have masternode operators and QT users had to manually intervene with their setups to get working again (or at least check everything is ok)?

In my humble opinion I think it would be possible to massively expand testnet at expense to avoid some of these issues.  I could be wrong though.

In any case, any crypto speculator hates to read the word fork even if it is prefixed with the word mini.  Also, there has been a lack of unified communications around the most recent issue.

Why is it that every time somebody opens a thread about the accusations towards XC and Prometheus etc(which seem very vague at the moment) they are immediately deleted?  I've never seen this forum react to potential FUD in such an organised way before....

While it all makes for popcorn reading we should stay out of all that... Dark is the calm port in the storm.

Agreed.  I'm going to the pub and keeping my head below the parapet.

I tell you what, shit be going on with other crypto coins and devs at the moment.  I don't often peek out of this thread but its looking pretty ugly out there.

For the record, each EC2 instance has a max number of EIP that you can have per ENI.  If you have enough EIPs to spare, there is nothing to stop you running multiple ENIs.

For example an M3.2XL can handle 30 EIP per interface and there is nothing stopping you running 3 ENI therefore attaching 90 EIP to that instance if you know your way around network routing.  The biggest hurdle to overcome is asymmetric routing once you start enabling multiple ENIs.

Cost wise, Amazon charge for each EIP hour so in most use cases it is cheaper in terms of service fees to have loads of T2.micros where you get one IP for free.  Having said that, it all depends on how much value you put on your time having to update 90 masternodes individually using smaller instances or one instance with 90 masternodes.

Do I need a separate VPS for every masternode I run or can I just get a really beefy one with multiple ip addresses? If this is possible, is there a guide for this somewhere?

Yes you can run multiple masternodes on a suitable VPS.   I have run 15 on one before and know of people who have had up to 50 on one instance.

There is an AWS oriented guide to five one one on DCT. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/ec2-multiple-remote-nothing-mn-max-5.1660/

I haven't played around with the undocumented ability to have one cold wallet with multiple masternodes but that should make things a lot simpler.

Just out of curiosity, which instance were they using and how were they able to get 50 separate static IP's for only one instance?

Sorry for facetious reply

1)  A big one!
2)  They asked Amazon to increase their EIP limit for the region.

I'm not being cloak and dagger here, will PM you.  I just don't think it is good form to discuss masternode configs of a third party without them being involved in the conversation.

It wouldn't be tor, it would be tor-like, in that it will be a gateway service that allows you to access the internet anonymously.  I don't see why Evan's plan for a two way communication system couldn't work for private internet access?  And if we could do it, why not?

IMHO the legalities around running an exit node and also the poor performance of the service if you don't have enough exit nodes is the killer issue.

Tried searching this up but no clear answer.

Just upgraded from the 9.12.32 wallet - ran fine - no problems
to 10.15.16 - uGH.

Synching is waaaay slow. Everytime  to change a tab the bar says (not responding) then it does.

I even installed twice. And my routine is to completey uninstall prev wallet (after copying dat file of course) , then using ccleaner both cleaner and registery cleaner, rebooting. Then run new wallet install. Opening new wallet, close....put new .dat file in and then let it synch up with nothing else running on computer.

Very rarely do I ever have a problem. 10.15.15 first time hung at 5 hours after running all night. Second try got it to synch very very slow but it did.
This morning its 30 hours behind and pretty much doesn't budge, still does the (not responding) for a sec when switching between tabs.

Any ideas, advice or experiences appreciated.

Try 10.15.17

And grab yourself a few Ounces/Kilos of Physical Gold to keep close, you never know what might happen until the dust settles...

If you happen to live in Dubai, these are fairly convenient...

popticu is a bot who randomly parrots other people's posts lol.

My wife has been on a business trip on the other side of the world for three weeks.  I knew things were getting desperate (remembering to get dressed in the morning etc) but I didn't realise that I'd be unable to differentiate between humans and bots. Cheesy

By the way, I find this site really useful.

I wish it was customisable in some way.

Nobody I contacted (who replied) had the BTC to buy what I had to sell.  Thats the only reason I went to the free and open market.

Hey stonehedge, are you in fact coinzcoinzcoinz too? You seem to have answered this thread below as coinzcoinzcoinz because your text in that thread indicates you're observing the sells going on whereas coinzcoinzcoinz was the one who sold 20K worth?

No, but I dumped some of my coins on the 20th too.  I tried to sell 10K off exchange by contacting various people with no bites.

I was away from the forums for a few days, so I missed on this opportunity, let me know if you are looking to sell in the future.

lets do a deal on 50 BTC right now. PM me an offer I can't refuse.

Noted but I have no plans to sell any more for now.  Thanks.

mister whale, please continue to dump

my orders haven't been filled yet

I don't think this is a whale.

Some mini whales dumped 100,000DRK+ in three hits within the last 30 days.

We are currently seeing smaller amounts of dumping influencing the market.  As pointed out up thread though, volume is low so I suppose this has a comparable effect.

I stand corrected.  Just saw the 33k dump last night.  Resistance indeed.
I dumped 20k yesterday. I always told myself that at $1.70 I would have to sell about half of my coins. I reached my panic point. I quit my job few months ago because of my DRK investments (I went all-in with 95% of my net worth), so I needed to secure my future to have enough money to start a business. Hopefully you understand, price has never been important for me, but it becomes important when your personal future gets in danger. I'm done dumping now and holding on to my remaining 30k as a long term hold. I'm still a firm believer in this project and I'm fairly confident that at the end of the road this project will change the world.

This is utterly unacceptable behavior. You have been engaged in this community long enough to know that there is over the counter methods and interest to purchase Darkcoin, even by Evan himself. You basically decided to punish the community by dumping on an exchange as you turned supposedly part of your holding back to BTC. Shame, shame, shame on you!

First proper internet LOL in ages.

I welcome any XC'ers here looking for some semblance of salvation. You'd almost think otherwise given how much shit I was given for pointing out the fact their mixer never worked for me and as a result, I was dumping my coins.

It does seem like their thread is reaching critical mass.  Shame.  I used to hold XC a while back but haven't paid any attention to it since.
