Is there a plan to make setting up a masternode easy on your personal computer? I have heard that it is not suggested.
No. The plan is to keep it easy to set up on a server. There a number of reasons for this that Darkcoin has learned on its journey. I don't want my masternode coins to be on hot storage for example.

A couple hundred Masternodes have dropped from the count? People updating or are thousands of DRK gone off to sell?
I'm on vacation so I can't fire up my local wallets to do a masternode start. Well, if I really wanted to waste quality holiday time I could but in the mean time I've asked flare to make the judgement call on whether to leave my masternodes running old version or just to stop them. I think he has stopped them. Smart stopping them as we're looking for consensus on protocols here. That's what I figured. Will lose the payments between now and then but the network is king.

Ok.. lets discuss the rigged algo launch instead. Or.. how about the anon myth ? eg. anything and everything you do online can be seen or manipulated by anyone with the right tech and/or determination to do so. You must be a junkie. At least you sound like one with your random ramblings. Trolling all over the Spreadcoin thread hailing DRK, and now trolling DRK hailing... absolutely nothing substantial and just plain nonsense. I've got the number of an excellent vet if you need some medical advice. Please dont quote him or her. Just put on ignore.

The thing is, any pool in theory can steal your coins. The way SPR discourages pools is by making it possible for miners to steal coins.
I think this can be mitigated by a cunning implementation of multisig.
I think that it is totally possible to utilise multisig transactions to prevent miners from stealing coins therefore a public pool is about as viable as Spreadcoin itself. I.e somebody will build one if they think it (or the 3000SPR bounty) is worth it.
I also think there is a second way to implement a private pool set up...only the pool server need know the private key to hash SpreadX11 if coded correctly.

How much is the bounty for creating a public pool now?

That make's you a pool operator, using their logic. LMFTFY That makes you a pool operator according to their deliberately disingenuous definition.
It's FUD. There's no logic involved, only wilful misinterpretation. You can make it up --- and they do ... the Daily Mail does it all the time. Cheers Graham From what I can tell, The Daily Mail exaggerate the truth. That's what's going on here. From what I can tell: Q. Can SPR be pool mined? A. Yes. Q. Would it be advisable to pool mine SPR? A. No. The pool can steal your money. Q. Would it be advisable to pool mine with a trusted pool operator? A. Possibly. So the OP should be qualified. Pool mining is possible [I don't actually know that for certain yet], but it is discouraged because the pool gets to see information you should not show them. We've had this before. All the multiplools hold on to your money and then they dump coins onto exchanges. Then they payout. You are never in control of your money until you get paid, and then you don't really know how much you are due. You can try and belittle the view, but there seems to be some element of truth in what is being discussed. You may not like they way people are going about it, but you can't simply call them out as liars. edit +1 Well said. Until somebody comes up with a multisig solution to public pool mining that is.

I'm not the best person to explain how noncepool is not a public pool and how SPR disincentivizes public pools.
Maybe if we change (no pools) to (no public pools), this may shut some fuders up.
Precisely. Its not FUD to say there are pools, because there are! However, anybody who understands how SPR works understands that public pools are discouraged and that is the main goal. If SPR drops the no pool claim (because it is outright untrue) and explains clearly the difference between private and public pools and then maybe some of what you call the FUDders will quieten down.

It would be funny if we all eventually find out Satoshi's identity and it was nothing like anyone expected: I.E. not asian, not male
I don't think many people think he is Asian, more likely a Brit. I'm British. How would I know if I was Satoshi? Does he have any distinguishing marks?

between the large drk shift on xpool and the lack of MN payments since Jan.. this coin truly is getting harder to get! (i've been a MN operator for about 9 days so far)
I've been seeing fairly regular masternode payments to my masternodes. I think I've just been lucky. Having said that, of the five that I have set up in the last week or so, none of those have payments *yet*.
