Nope yup. cool now. thx Now Im synced I still see the message below. I am running latest OSX wallet (16.16). Can I safely ignore this warning. What gives? Thanks The message is clear, if your client is up to date some nodes in the network have to install 0.10.16.16. No The message is clear, The wallet still isn't done synching with the network... notice the out of synch message. Or he's running an old version of the wallet. On purpose you mean ? Possible I don't know the guy. Is he a very concerned user an other anonymous coin's investor ? I suggest a dev should have a look at this. Something doesn't ring true here. Hopefully not a malware version of the client or other possible nastiness... EDIT: I can't say that I have looked at every single line of code but this has got my spidey senses tingling.

IMHO this is one of the most positive periods in DRK history so far.
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of changes and challenges to come from a technical, infrastructure and economic perspective but the speck of darkness on the horizon is definitely visible and gradually getting bigger.

p2pool is already easier to use than centralised pools are. No registration or setting up workers, just point your miner at the nearest p2pool node with your Darkcoin address as your username and password anything. Added bonus that the pool op can't run off with or lose your money, plus lower fees. Anyway, solo-mining is a better option IMO, avoids the p2pool dust problem, and the Spreadcoin solution seems to work perfectly so far, and Spreadcoin is based on Darkcoin, just uses a slightly modified X11 algo to get rid of the centralising parasites. My pool needs no registration, DRK wallet for your worker name and anything for password and 5+ months of consistent payments speak for itself. Not to mention you can use SHA & Scrypt asic's to earn DRK. I can understand your passion for P2P but it isn't the be all end all. Cheers Your pool is kind of a special case. I am concerned about blockchain security, not miner income, because that's what users and investors will be concened about too. Nobody is going to put serious money into a currency that depends for security on 2 or 3 poolservers. Not ever. If DRK and other PoW coins don't address this they will remain nothing but toys. Ok, so what are you saying? What should the Joe/Jane Average Darkcoin user do about this? Is there anything that we can do? Is setgenerate true -1 like pissing in the wind?

Dont see the big deal about CNN, darkcoin basically had its own segment on Bloomberg TV and nothing really happened... And on one of the Fox channels.

jesus you guys are delusional, cnn? Lol
Just tell us how you really feel. I feel cheated by this coin I was about to ask...have you still got a masternode?

Can somebody explain to me how having inside info would in some way drive the price higher given today's (unproven) circumstances?
Here's two examples: You have inside information that evan will no longer be developing darkcoin, you know that there's a good chance the market will react to this, so you dump all your darkcoins. If you have a lot of darkcoins, dumping that many darkcoins could trigger a downwards trend ( although unlikely ). You have inside information evan has just discovered something revolutionary, or that Darkcoin will be used instead of Bitcoin on SilkRoad, you know that this could have an effect on the value and could potentially trigger a bubble, you could then buy a shit load of coins ( which could also have an effect on the value ). Thanks but those examples are not what I'm getting at. That sort of thing could happen at any time. To any altcoin. I was wondering if the claims of FlabbyIranian69 were somehow causing the buying activity on Cryptsy. I suppose the claimant him/herself could be doing the buying if the exploits are just FUD...

So what's happening with this Darksend "de-anonymiser" ? Is it happning or is the guy full of bs ?
I am not sure about that guy but someone bough a shit load of Darkcoins on Cryptsy. My guess is a) it was someone with an insider information who knows some major fix/event is coming up or b) Trolls realized that their FUD isn't working and the price won't go down any further so they decided to buy in before the world finds out about InstantX which I am guessing is gonna be very very soon. When InstantX and the Darksend fix is out, I am pretty sure it will be all over at Fox, CNN, Forbes and so on again. Am I looking at this oversimplistically? If there is a question mark over Darkcoin (viable exploit/vector or not) then why would somebody go out and buy huge chunks of DRK? I would expect price to drop on uncertainty and either recover if it turns out to be bullshit or drop further if it turns out to be true. Can somebody explain to me how having inside info would in some way drive the price higher given today's (unproven) circumstances?

woop someone just bought about 5500 drk in one go
6900... I wonder if it was our friendly neighbourhood hacker?

Something that sticks in my mind is that there is a possibility of something working on testnet but not on main net. Anyway, I'm sure we will find out one way or another today. Whatever this is, its either FUD or something that will ultimately help DRK. In the meantime I'm off to buy a load of BTC just in case we have some panicky investors

Firstly, I have no doubt that there are minor bugs that greater minds than me will find in darksend over the coming months and even years. Its the nature of the beast.
However, compare CrazyIranian666's postings to the person who actually did find an exploit and intercept a fair few masternode payments. There are plenty of offers of bounties. Hell, if Evan and the dev team could verify each of the claims to be as serious as they are suggested to be I'd be happy to pay a very substantial bounty for the information to be handed over appropriately for fixing.
The thing is, this particular person has jumped straight to I WILL DESTROY YOUR CURRENCY and BURNING THE MIDNIGHT OIL to create a DARKSEND DEANONYMISER. So what do we have here according to their statements on Reddit?
1) Somebody who has found a few minor bugs and feels like king of the world right now. 2) Somebody who has found a series of critical bugs that render Darksend worthless but has little interest in financial gain or assisting the dev team fix problems. (why on reddit??) 3) Somebody who is totally full of shit and is shouting nonsense on Reddit.
I guess we we will find out today.
Personally I'm hoping that this person has found some problems and is willing to help. That would be a far better situation than option 3).

Why is DRK a scam and why do the Monero crew want to take it down? ~BCX~
It's not a scam and it's Monero's closest competitor functionality wise. I'll never understand why people like to bring/take down other currencies. There's enough space for all of them. My current deal with Monero ends on December 20th as we came to an agreement for 60 days of BCX free Monero. Where we go from there, who knows? They have however offered a proposition for DRK but I wanted to find out about it first. I think they feel that DRK is why they are steadily falling week over week. If a coin is good I have no interest in bothering it but if it is a scam, shit is on. Let's hear the good, bad and ugly! ~BCX~ I'd like to officially state, for and on behalf to the Monero core team, that this is the biggest load of rubbish we've ever read. We have no deal with BCX, nor have we ever had a deal with him. In fact, our many attempts at engaging him have come up empty. We also have not ever, and will not ever, "offer a proposition for DRK" to BCX or any other trolls. What an absurd notion, we're not even in "competition" with Darkcoin, much less able to waste money on a petty spat. Yes Flufferboy you are correct, I dealt with rpietila directly which you and Smooth have said many times is not part of the dev team. So in a way, you're correct. His DRK proposition is that I find an exploit for DRK that he can have tested with other resources he has hired elsewhere. If it test out he will pay me 50BTC. He has been spot on paying me so I have no doubts he will. My deal with him expires on December 20th so until then I will not post about or bother Monero. Considering DRK is open source and I am not going to be the one to attack it there is nothing nefarious going on. I can promise you this though, I will find an exploit. This coin is way too sophisticated and smooth to NOT have an exploit. ~BCX~ We look forward to you finding it and perhaps fixing it. Have fun and good luck!

Hi. I have a problem.. Just made sell order at 0.00655 at crypsty and all my coins disappeared. There is also no open orders in my account for darkcoin and in trade history there is no sell by me at this price.. I sent email to support, now waiting for response This happened to be yesterday. Even though I had no open orders I could see my buy in the order book. It fixed itself within a few minutes. Hope your problem does too! I had a panic for a few minutes while I tried to work out what was going on.
