1561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash/Dark Corporation involved in another SCAM on: March 27, 2015, 02:35:16 PM
I'm not a fan of Dark but Drak is one to talk, a coinmarkets shill who fed inside info like the news of contracting Peter Todd to his buddies like Cobain and did nothing to quell the Zynga hype which was smoke and mirrors for more pump and dump tomfoolery. Having lots of twitter followers doesn't make you relevant or important.

From what I have read I agree with you.  How GTO911 has turned this into an anti DASH thread claiming that a scam is taking place I do not know.  Simply pathetic.

Of course, these comments will be deleted shortly.
1562  Other / Politics & Society / Re: France plane crash: No survivors expected [Condolences to the families] on: March 27, 2015, 01:22:18 PM
Re the concept of passengers being able to use ejector seats, an average ejector seat weighs 150lbs+

Ignoring the issue of designing a plane that could eject people safely, questions arise about how such a system could be activated and also the cost of carrying 22,500lbs of ejectors seats and parachutes.

Not to mention the explosive charge in each ejector seat.

There have been some successful experiments with whole airframe parachutes but only when a plane is at stall speed.
1563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM Darkcoin instamine 2 millions DRKs (50% of darkcoin in circulation) on: March 27, 2015, 09:20:31 AM
There was an instamine, Evan has all the coins, he is scamming us, Darkcoin is easily breakable...have I missed anything?

HYIPs are illegal in Arizona and The Darkscam Foundation is under investigation.

Darkscam was started by and for the benefit of Masternode, who Drak says is some kind of altcoin gangster.

Vertoe and InternetApe are gone; Darkscam's bus factor = 1.

The remote MadoffNode killswitch is a terrible idea without precedent.

The attempt to steal/trademark DASH and escape your shady past will fail.

I took the liberty of highlighting in bold the most significant of your lies.
1564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash/Dark Corporation involved in another SCAM on: March 26, 2015, 08:05:08 PM
Why not let him have his say to explain himself?  I thought the post of his you deleted was very reasonable.

Is the new client version just a rebrand i.e can I upgrade locally without causing a problem with my masternode?
Backup wallet.dat
Rename your Darkcoin folder to Dash.
Rename any shortcuts.
Download update and launch.
Done.
Masternodes need not update at this time.

Cheers

1567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DRK/XDN/XMR/SDC] Comparison between the most known anonymous coins (MUST READ) on: March 26, 2015, 05:09:41 PM
Hi guys, can you add Navajocoin to this topic? Anon feature is up and running with double encryption.
Thanks

Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App

Maybe not ? Because it's a centralized system ?

Why not add a row for decentralisation?

Its only fair that all the contenders for anon coins are listed fairly and accurately...
1568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DRK/XDN/XMR/SDC] Comparison between the most known anonymous coins (MUST READ) on: March 26, 2015, 02:35:47 PM
You forget NavajoCoin

Perhaps deliberately excluded because of your obnoxious spamming.

spam!!!?  because i talk about something that you dont like that...yes???

I neither like nor dislike NavajoCoin, I don't know anything about it and I've barely heard of it.

I dislike when there is a thread about [DRK/XDN/XMR/SDC] Comparison between the most known anonymous coins (quoted from the tread topic, and which certainly does not include NavajoCoin) and you come along and put a nice bold and red message about NavajoCoin with a big picture, links, and no actual content. Yes I do dislike that and it makes your coin look like something I should stay the hell away from.

 Undecided you are so biaised....

most known Huh  do you really include XDN and SDC in "most known"?  damn, they were totally unknown before some new infographics and propaganda in this forum section 2-3 weeks ago.  a good example :  SDC ann thread total pages : 296.   NAV ann thread total pages : 678.

Dofus : please update the OP and thread title now to include Navajo.

Even if you are spamming your thread with hype messages, Navajo isn't known yet as an anon coin.

Could you please explain to us, who doesn't know a thing about Navajo, what technology is used ?

We are discussing about anon tech here, not about how much post there is in a thread.

I beg to differ.  Navajo has been on the radar for a long time.  It has a decent community with virtually no shills and trolls and promises some pretty exciting technology (if it works as claimed, which tbh could be said about most anon coins at the moment).  If you haven't heard of it, read their whitepapers or been aware of their publicity drive then I suggest that you've been spending too much time trying to promote your own coin rather than let it shine on its own merits.

1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash/Dark Corporation involved in another SCAM on: March 26, 2015, 02:09:33 PM
A totally uninformed question if I may.

GTO911 is crossposting some of this conversation as proof that the Darkcoin Foundation is conducting some kind of scam.  Can somebody explain to me how or why this would be the case?  I've read the last few pages and can't see any evidence to support this.

The user "masternode" seems to be a member of the Dash foundation:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=699278.msg10885041#msg10885041

(in other words: guilt by association, even if "masternode" was guilty of anything, which is not sure either)

Thanks.  I know EM is part of the DASH foundation.  There is obviously a lot going on here that I have no idea about but wondered why this has quickly lead to the creation of yet another anti DASH thread.
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash/Dark Corporation involved in another SCAM on: March 26, 2015, 02:02:59 PM
I don't understand, where is the scam?

Also, why don't you say which Ed you are quoting about here.  You are implying that it is Ed Duffield.  Not that the other Ed seems to have done anything wrong.

Read again

I just did.  Where is the scam?  Spell it out for the idiots amongst us.

I can see lots of unproven accusations of poor behaviour from Ed Moncada but no reference to a scam.

set ur buys around .0160 ...this is nice healthy correction  Grin

In this second wave we don't have vertoe's and stonehedge's volumes to dump - so I don't expect we will see such a deeps.

I bet Directbet wished they had waited a week Cheesy
sell your bmw and come back. Wait a week and get a new one.

You have no idea the lengths I am going to find the business case to buy back in.  I've got my accountant on it...discussing it with Mrs Hedge...

Its the price and limited supply thats getting me.  In the absence of a time machine I'd love to find somebody willing to give me a second chance with a gratuity discount depending on the volume I buy.  A man can dream.

Anyway, lottery night in the UK so if the market gets pumped by £4m overnight you know who won it.

Hi stonehedge, I'll make this offer publicly, I've had a long, hard think about it and I would be prepared to offer you up to 30,000 DASH at the market price when the fiat funds are ready to be transferred, this would give you a significantly better price than trying to buy that sort of quantity on the exchanges with their low liquidity on the ask side atm and the slippage this would cause.

Really I would prefer you to be buying on the exchanges as this would push up the price of the coin and my holdings considerably, but I'm happy to offer you this chance to get back to where you were coin wise if you do decide to go ahead with that and any lower amount of coins would be fine as well, or repeat buys up to that total amount but spread over any time period you wished, using the market price at the time of the transactions.

So this isn't charity, I already have one of those that I support, but it at least allows you a way to get back in the game and who knows, if the coins do well then it may be possible to sell a few down the line and even recoup the fiat that you've put in or some of it, though there are no guarantees obviously.

This offer is only made to stonehedge, I'm not looking to sell coins to anyone else or at all and especially not in bulk as this will mean taking down some of my Masternodes which I hadn't planned on doing, but would in this one case.

You can answer in the thread or by PM as you like, all the best with your negotiations and deliberations,

-Otoh :-)

Hi All,

Just to keep things in the open.  I had a private chat with Otoh early this morning and have declined his kind offer.

Part of this reason is that I do not feel that buying this amount off market is fair to the community. As many of you have pointed out, most of us don't have many coins so it would feel like I was sticking two fingers up to the community if I bought a large number of coins without the positive effects on price.

The rest of the conversation I'd rather stayed private but I'm sticking with my 1 masternode for now.  Hey, maybe if we get 1:1 with BTC I'll be able to afford a new home Smiley

I've stopped already bro, please...I really have learned my lesson.

apart from the lottery? Cheesy

Lol, its a fair cop.

Glad someone smarter than me told you what you needed / need / will have need for months to come / to hear.

While this is not a gambling addiction support site like http://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/ I wish you to recover ASAP. That comes first. Otherwise what? YOur whining results in "some whale" giving you free Darkcoins, sorry Dashthingies, only for you to go for a "big score."

Damn. I know the pain ... Smiley

I did not intend to come across as whining or trying to score free Darkcoins.  Have you seen the shit I got telling my story on the main BCT gambling thread?  Four pages of "that was stupid!" I'm out for a while.  I've got a fever, feel like shit and am running low on sense of humour.

I wonder what Reda has been doing since his/her last post six months ago.

presumably Mrs Hedge will control the private keys this time round?  Smiley

Meh, thats the thing that scares the shit out of me.   By all means I'd be happy for Mrs Hedge to control the private keys but don't for a second believe that my gambling losses were a result of a long term gambling addiction.  It is really easy to lose control in the heat of the moment.  It is also a short hop from short term periodic controlled gambling to insane mistakes.

Yep, best to steer clear entirely in my experience.

Lesson learned hopefully Smiley

There is no hopefully about it.  I've managed to throw away nearly $150,000, totally betray my incredible wife's trust and set back our plans to start a family by some time.  As Otoh and others have said, I had warnings and I missed them or ignored them.  Wishing for a second chance is not going to get me anywhere. All I can do is hope to pull off an audacious purchase in the next few hours (10% chance) or work my arse off 18 hours a day for a few years to try to make amends.  The latter is preferable to risking a single penny.
