2401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar Loses €1M in Casino in Just an Hour on: March 31, 2023, 08:14:10 AM
Neymar lost €1m (£900,000) in just an hour of online casino as he streamed it live on his Twitch channel. The Twitter post reads that "Crying at first, he then laughs, remembering it's just a week's pay!" I was very livid reading this and seeing screenshots of his reaction. Because it is very deceitful.

Imagine a gambling who may have lost thousands of dollars today reading this. Instead of feeling bad or remorseful and looking for a way to change, this may even fuel his addiction the more. Sadly, he won't remember that he is not like Neymar who earns £3.2m-per-month.

These celebrities and public figures should be  fined for trying to glorify gambling without stating the negative aspects when it is over done.

I find it indecent. Not that I am against wealth, or that this footballer is a gambler.
What is indecent is to broadcast such losses, it should remains private.

It is neither a good example, nor a mentality that I would be happy to see broadcast, to consider a loss of 1 million euros as negligible.
It is almost offensive to the billions of people who live on less than 400 euros per month on Earth.

That he does it, good for him, but that he broadcasts it, that is a shame. We clearly don't all have the same problems, let alone those of this madman Neymar.

2402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spread Love with Bitcoin on: March 31, 2023, 08:08:23 AM
It's always good to turn around and redistribute a part of your wealth! Nice of you OP !
Especially if we know that this redistributed part will benefit people who are really in need, directly or indirectly.

OP, I am not Muslim and know almost nothing about Islam. I live in a country where I almost don't have the opportunity to meet any.
May I ask you about the relationship between Islam and Bitcoin?
I have heard several times that Bitcoin (and crypto-currencies in general) are frowned upon by Muslims. I didn't really understand why, but a man once explained to me that since Bitcoin is not stable, there is a good chance that people will hold it for future profit, and that this was not in accordance with Islamic texts. If I understood correctly, he was telling me that as a Muslim one should not make profit without exchanging goods or services? Is speculation not a good thing regarding the texts ?

This has always seemed wrong to me because there is the stock market and cryptos very established in many Islamic countries.
Do you have any idea why he was telling me this?

Grin)

2407  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why was Ordinal NFTs created? on: March 30, 2023, 06:15:52 AM
The introduction of inscriptions on Bitcoin’s mainnet  made the creation of Ordinal NFTs on the bitcoin Blockchain. I have read lot of negative comments about the effects of Ordinal NFTs on Bitcoin Blockchain and so I would like to know why it was still created despite negative effects it can have,Although there are some positive comments, The negative comments are something that can cause stressing issues later on.

For me Ordinals exists so that the big mining pools that mine several blocks a day increase their profits. I will always be convinced that this is something initiated by pool operators.

When you look at the mempool, Ordinals has really blown up the fees, we are almost continuous like at some points in 2018 in terms of fees. Mempool is almost always suffering of congestion now.

Other than them, at this point, I don't see who the real winners are. Especially not the people who have a full node that will become extraordinarily heavy with all this, let alone those who use the Bitcoin network for their daily transactions.

Ordinals might as well be an invention whose purpose is to push people to use the Lightning Network, you flood the BTC blockchain, the fees go up, people start using LN to escape those fees.

In any case, the blockchain is not centralized, and if it is possible to do something, there will always be someone to do it, especially if there are potential gains to make at the end.

2408  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: WINTOMATO.com scam 4300 usdt on: March 30, 2023, 06:05:11 AM
Now casino do not answer at casino guru site.
More that 3 days passed but they can not sent any evidence to casino guru site manager Bratislav.
I will post here, what casino guru site will decide.

Yes please, keep us informed ! I am very curious about the ending of your dispute with them.

Casino do not repied and can not sent evidence. Seven days already passed.

Yeah doesn't smell good for your money OP, sorry for your loss.

I will wait the 4d left by principle and leave some negative trust to the casino operator, hopefully it could stop someone to send money there in the future, hope it could avoid to risk his money to at least one person. Unfortunately I don't know what we can do other than that  Undecided

Their lack of communication is really disgusting, you are the player, they are supposed to be the professionals, and they really, really don't act like professionnals
2409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any casino site offer Ludo game? on: March 30, 2023, 06:00:30 AM
Casinos will not look at Ludo as a potential game to include in gambling, simply because the the duration that you play the game. On average a typical game of Ludo last between 25 to 50min, according to the Internet...so it is too long for gambling.

Casinos want games that last a few seconds, like Dice or Poker or Black Jack.... because they take money on every game that are played, so they want gamblers to play as many games as possible ...in the shortest time frame, because that will maximize their profits.  Wink

Yeah unfortunately you're absolutely right.

I can't imagine an actual casino providing a Ludo game, it could be almost against their busines model.
Maybe it is possible to find one proposing that, but not at my knowledge to be honest. It is way easier to find slots, black jack, and roulette games than longer ones.

But who knows, maybe someone had the luck to find one and will share the plan with OP and us. I would be interested to know if a casino is providing this kind of games, but I am skeptical as it would mean that the casino is not micro gains oriented and so, not really profit oriented..
2410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guys!! I was finally able to buy my home thanks to Bitcoin!!! on: March 30, 2023, 05:52:32 AM
The OP should ask to get their username changed to “iboughtmyhomewithbtc” as they have already reached their goal and they need to reflect this on their username as well,

Yeah I wanted to change my username but some members told me that it is not possible anymore. Once upon a time it was possible if you paid 50 BTC  Grin Grin Grin

LOL at that meme, as it nearly describes my situation (though I wasn't into bitcoin in the very early days).

In any case, I'm happy that it doesn't apply to you, OP.  I think it's freakin' fantastic you were able to finance a home using bitcoin!  I had this section on ignore and thus missed your thread here, but you have my belated congratulations.  To all the unbelievers, bitcoin is real money and does have real value, regardless of whether the seller of the house accepted it outright.

I love threads like these.  They warm my blackened heart, they do.

Thank you for your message!
Definitely, Bitcoin is real money, and I believe the value of BTC is still very underestimated.

Anyway, regarding that meme, I hope that it was a nice car and you don't regret you purchase ! We had another member in this topic which was saying that his friend bought the most expensive computer ever back in the time, would be curious to know which amount of BTC he paid for this computer!

To hold bitcoin is not a difficult task, but majority doesn't have the patience. Here OP have followed it well and the patience have brought his dream come true at the earliest. If I'm not wrong, OP have used it at the right time. If not achieving the dream could've got delayed.

Yeah I was definitely very lucky when I sold some sats, it was almost at ATH and at the moment I was full of doubts. We never know when Bitcoin will stop pumping, but at a point I needed to secure some profits. Regarding 2022 and 2023, yeah, you're right, if I haven't sold my BTC at (almost) ATH, I would have to wait some more time, the market was pretty difficult last year.

Wish you all success with your holdings guys!

Cool

https://twitter.com/PastryEth/status/1640382873659142144

Thanks to all of you for these messages and good vibes, it really makes me happy to read them!
The few times I made the mistake to discuss about my plans outside of this forum, IRL, I think you can imagine the reactions I got, it wasn't really positive  Grin Feeling good reading all these messages, and really hope that all of you will be enough lucky and patient to take some good benefice from the money and time you invested in Bitcoin

Indeed Bitcoin is for more than one generation a hell of a chance, some of us were not lucky enough to be able to enjoy stocks and good rate mortgages like previous generations. It's a huge opportunity to have this network existing, even if it's risky!

I hope everyone here will reach their goals, I have read many posts that mention holding bitcoin in order to gain financial independence or at least real estate ownership. I wish you the best of luck in reaching your targets and knowing how to sell in time! This is the hard part but you have to force yourself to part with a few satoshis from time to time, even if it hurts your heart  Grin

Haha panganib999, no yacht planned for me, at least not for now haha! I have to admit that I will sell my holdings the day they will represent enough wages for the number of years of life expectancy I will have left
2416  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 271 blocks solved! on: March 27, 2023, 01:32:12 PM
Hello everyone. I caught a block on March 10th on this wonderful pool. Unfortunately, a disaster has happened. Today, when transferring from my ledger nano s, all bitcoins were stolen. Although when confirming the transaction on the device, the address and amount were correct. There is drweb on my PC. I do not know exactly how this virus works, but instead of transferring 0.7 btc to the address bc1qg0ctp7wl6q5lsxjq95fwwzwlcdjaqpkyaasdp0, all funds were sent to the address bc1qcktk4fk7z3vulv8vj2eh2rdxv58aklusw8ndp0, I ask everyone to spread this message as much as possible. Maybe there are contacts of exchanges to block a possible withdrawal of funds from this wallet so that it is marked as fraudulent. Contacted those.ledger support, waiting for a response from them. WHEN CONFIRMING THE TRANSACTION, THERE WAS A DIFFERENT AMOUNT AND ADDRESS!!!!!! I ask everyone who cares to take part in the dissemination of information about this address. Please email me if you have any ideas about blocking your account/funds. pinecone999@yandex.ru

Contact Binance through their chat support, Coinbase, every CEX possible to report the address. Ledger support won't help you.

Very sorry for your loss man..

But it's strange, on a explorer we can see that during the first transactions you did, it didn't occured. Do you think you were infected between these transactions ?
Which OS are you using ? Windows ?
Was the recipient address the good one on your Ledger screen when you validated the transaction ?
2417  Economy / Gambling / Re: No bet is a waste on: March 26, 2023, 05:15:24 PM
However, we must still try to play gambling without emotion so that we are not tempted by the casino and can get out of the casino at any time and whenever we want. Casinos can win from other people but casinos can't win too much from us because we always try to control ourselves.

You also have to try to be able to play without emotion so you won't think too much about previous defeats. And even though playing without emotion looks difficult, you should still try it for your own good.

Yeah I agree, playing with emotion makes the game less precise and way less efficient.
You have to be able to stay as distant and cold as possible so that you don't self-sabotage and don't make the wrong decisions at the wrong moment. Stopping in time and taking the time to think twice before putting money down is important.
In my experience, whether it's with bets, casinos or even trading, the real need for money and emotions makes them more inefficient. It may be silly to say it like this, but playing without really needing the potential payout has always allowed me to play and bet better, and to make more gains than when I was in a complicated situation.
So playing gambling by controlling our emotions can make us enjoy the game more and will not make wrong decisions such as the desire to recover from losses because we know that is difficult. It is difficult for beginners, but they have to learn to do it if they don't want to lose all their money and the worst thing is to become addicted to gambling. Many people have experienced it without even realizing it, and it has really made them lose large amounts of money. Maybe playing relaxed and not chasing anything can give us luck so we can get some wins.
Keeping emotions in check while betting is a real smart move. When we're all chasing losses, it can turn into an addiction and cost us a fortune. People gotta learn to chill, play it cool, and not let feelings call the shots.

Funny enough, research tells us that those who got a grip on their emotions find success in different life aspects. So, this emotional control game ain't just for gambling, it's for our everyday lives too. Helps us make wiser choices and score better results. And hey, staying relaxed and mindful while playing just adds to the fun – which is what we're here for, right?

This is an interesting one. Maybe when we are detached from emotions and any kind of impulsiveness we are more focused on the tasks and the positive results come from there. I would love to find objective studies on the subject, I am convinced that this could be verified

There is Rennes-Lens on April 1st.

Probably an easy prediction but I bet on Rennes with the odds of 2.35
Lens doesn't inspire me at all, even less than the previous years. Everyone is bullish about Varane joining next year, but we are far from it for the moment

Friendly advice, youtube is a platform geared towards entertainment, so watch whatever you want but when it comes to factual information about any other topic take everything with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to a topic like this one.

I agree, you should always keep a safe distance from the info you can find on Youtube.
Especially when it comes to money or cryptos for that matter.

Personally, I've seen so many scams and scammers using Youtube as a medium that I'm very suspicious when the topic is cryptos or Bitcoin and the source of information is this site.

I've already responded to OP on the first page of this topic, about the substance of his topic and the futility (in my opinion anyway) of knowing who Satoshi really is, and the negative consequences it would have on Bitcoin and its environment if he could be doxxed.

But you're absolutely right to point out that even the source is to be taken with a grain of salt, I will never repeat enough and especially to beginners not to use Youtube as the only source of information when it comes to their finances and cryptos.
