1901  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Български (Bulgarian) on: April 29, 2023, 12:57:22 PM

1902  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How often do you check your farm, steps to gain some peace of mind. on: April 29, 2023, 12:52:01 PM
7- A heat gun to monitor all wires, sockets, MCBs, Busbars, etc when I go to the farm, just to make sure nothing is getting hot.
These are pretty much all the things I do to have some peace of mind and to ensure that everything runs smoothly for as good as possible, looking forward to hearing yours.

This is a tip that I agree with 100%, it has given me so much peace and tranquility. It's well worth it!

In our installation we also have CCTV and alarms, I can't imagine having so much investment in hardware and so much money at stake without a minimum of protection.
For one of our places, we also have private security patrols but we pay the costs in a shared way with the neighbors, it costs a lot . But this one is in an area where it is justified and necessary.

Otherwise I only look at the hashrate a little, I have alerts when a worker is offline for more than 10 minutes and that is enough for me. I can spend sometimes 2 weeks without going on site because we can do checks remotely. I monitor once a day if everything is fine, and then I rely on the alerts.
I used Antminer-Monitor for a long time (https://github.com/anselal/antminer-monitor) but we have since switched to something cleaner.

Where I feel like I look too much is my bestshares on the rigs that are mining solo, even though I know it's useless, I look at my bestshares at least 5 times a day  Roll Eyes

1904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Guys pls help with these TF.. why are they stuck?? Frustrated... on: April 28, 2023, 04:28:35 PM
So i just keep waiting..

do you have any eta of how long it will take?

Your parent transaction (the first one) should be include in the next 2 blocks as per mempool.space

https://mempool.space/fr/tx/4b87c29751a01841c38c6dc1225048b08c59e515ffdcdfb261daed6d5749ad78

So in theory in the next 20 minutes, but it is not guarantee as it depends of the volume of other transactions with a higher fee rate than yours and the time each block takes to be solved (10 minutes on average per block but could be more or less)
1905  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [COLLABORATIVE CUSTODY] Your custody partner for your bitcoin journey. on: April 28, 2023, 04:20:08 PM
In my humble opinion you are running to your own loss.

Nobody needs this service, I don't understand why you hope to monetize it?
And without any legit background, what guarantee do we have about your professionalism and good faith?

Bitcoin is revolutionary. It is the first peer-to-peer computer and monetary system. Bitcoin makes it possible to transfer money across the world without a trusted third party and without double spending.

That's why I think we can do without you. I have read the whole topic, but I confess that for me the service is neither necessary, nor in accordance with my conception of BTC and the way I want to control my coins.

Very very cool! Your site is interesting and really well done. The website is fast, fluid and super responsive.
I agree 100% with hugeblack's idea for darkmode, even if from a personal point of view I use a plugin that transforms all my web pages in darkmode version.

Thanks for your work and for sharing it here. I will spend some time looking at the reference word list and try to do some research.
You can find everything it's really funny, some more "educational" than others:

Can someone throw more light on this mining of coins! I don't see result as aspected and I mostly end up with wrong mining sites. What are the necessary tools one can apply to support mining experience? Where can I get satisfying sites for mining? What and what do I need to do! Pleases assist I need fervent knowledge on mining bitcoin and a good recommended site where I can mined bitcoin.

Anything to support my understanding and the necessary things involved. Please shared your good knowledge with me.

I think you are posting in the wrong section of the forum. Bitcoin discussion board seems more appropriate.

I'm personally very skeptical, and not sure I understand 100% of your point.
How could he predict the future price of bitcoin to determine the volume needed to become a millionaire? Do I miss something ?

I have a rule: when someone predicts the price of Bitcoin, I ignore them and consider them a scammer, or at best someone briefly in need of attention on social networks.
1910  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Building a mining pool on: April 26, 2023, 07:58:14 PM
Just a little business strategy thinking... it's going to be pretty tough to get any miners on your pool if it starts out with Bitcoin mining. If I were to start a mining pool, I'd aim to build the #1 mining pool for some mid-level altcoin, which probably could be easily accomplished with just some good web design and discussion in that altcoin's community for a few weeks. Then, you'll have a core set of fans and followers and can branch out into larger coins.

Yeah you're right, from a strategic point of view it makes sense.

But there is a real market with small Bitcoin pools. Especially now that mmpool.org doesn't exist anymore, we still have the Kano pool, and the solo pool of CK.
Apart from that there is Laurentiapool, but their membership system is not intuitive I think. At my knowledges there is no other very small pool existing?

A lot of people like to send a lot of shares to small pools via rental (MRR or Nicehash), and then let an S19 or something else run on it until the block solved. Philipma has already written about this on the forum and he is right. There are good potential profits to be made with small pools, especially if after doing what I described above, the block is found quickly with a lot of luck, it can generate good payouts quickly.

Personally I will always welcome a new small pool with open arms, but there will always be the question of the legitimacy of the owner. On that point you are totally right, but OP could very well pay dozens of altcoins blocks to its users, and then exit scam with the first BTC block when it switches to BTC. It wouldn't give any guarantee even with some success with altcoins blocks.
Small pools are always a risk for miners. (mmpool example is a perfect example unfortunately, of why small pools are a risk for miners...)
1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Dormant Address have been woke up, Are you worry? on: April 26, 2023, 07:45:25 PM
Why are you worried?

Anyone can need cash, even some whales can need to sell BTC. Who knows ?

Personally I hold my Bitcoin for the long term, I'm not worried about large volume sales and potential price fluctuations, there's nothing you can do about it.

I don't have any particular analysis of the fact that several large wallets are moving BTC in a synchronized way. But I'm not worried about that. We don't know, if it is the same person who has several addresses? And even if it was several people, it doesn't seem to impact the price more than that.

We all know that in the future, there will be other big sales of BTC volumes, there will be future big volumes bought. That's just the way it is.
Fanky1 is 100% right, for every seller there is a buyer, that's the order of things in terms of Bitcoin.

1913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any Bitcoiners here who are living offgrid? on: April 26, 2023, 06:46:03 PM
I'm coming up to 81, and I'm a Bitcoin maximalist. I've rejected most of the current and other controls that try to restrict my lifestyle. I'm now living in a converted van, and I love the freedom. I'm considering a Raspberry Pi based installation to manage my Bitcoin node, and maybe do a bit of mining. Although I'm living primarily offgrid, I'm still a member of conventional society, and utilise thosed facilities that are useful to me. I'm monitoring the current banking changes, and hoping to increase my use of Bitcoin.
So, is there anyone else here that is questioning the current political and banking changes, and moving to an independent offgrid lifestyle?

It depends on what you call an offgrid lifestyle.

Personally, with my wife, we live in full autonomy regarding to electricity, water, fruits and vegetables.
We still use 4G to access the internet, still use banks and online banking, and we also pay some taxes.

We try to reduce our dependence on the government and institutions as much as possible. It is not very difficult as here, the government is like non-existing. We live without having to buy gas, because we don't need a car, and we buy very few things.
But of course, when we have to travel to other countries, we depend on planes, trains or buses.
I don't think we live totally offgrid, but it is very close.
Like you, I would like to be able to do more with Bitcoin, which for me is currently more of a storage value.

1917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What things do you study while choosing a wallet? on: April 24, 2023, 05:37:16 PM
Personally I'm pretty old-fashioned when it comes to choosing my wallets.

I stick to Electrum and BitcoinCore. I use hardware wallets for what I hold for the very long term.

1. Custodial vs Non-Custodial   2. Open source vs Closed source
These two points of mine are very important for everyone to understand before choosing a crypto wallet for storing their digital assets.

Custodial Wallets
are wallet that takes control from users and decide to be their users private keys keeper, meaning they function just like the banks, they keep your assets for you, with this, many things can go wrong, they can decide to close down the business, and they will leave with your money, they have the keys in the first place.

Non-Custodial wallets
These wallets are better than custodial wallets because they give users access to their private keys or recovery seed, even if they go down some day you can easily import your recovery seed into another available wallet, everyone prefers using Non-custodial wallets because they are safer compared to Custodial wallets.

Open Source vs Closed Source
Open source wallets are more transparent, they leave every codes opened to the public, so when choosing a wallet, make sure they are open source.

I completely agree with you, these are the most important criteria to take into account when starting out and choosing your first wallet I think.

Otherwise OP, I can advise you this link which will help you to determine which wallet could correspond to your needs. Basically, you answer some questions and it suggests you a list at the end: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
