2641  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela, a fable about socialism. Part 1/2 on: September 02, 2018, 09:03:20 PM

Socialist nations make progress when they move AWAY from socialism.

Even Cuba, today, does not ban the accumulation of private wealth. Both China and Russia support private capitalism. One may not like the Russian gangster version or the Chinese version, but they have moved FAR from socialist principles and ideology.

After the Venezuelan people restart their economy, if they still want leaders who promise them free stuff, it's pretty hopeless.

Of course, they do, the farther and farther away you get from socialism the closer and closer you get to the system that ACTUALLY WORKS!!!!!!!!

Ding ding ding ding, we have a winner.

I wouldn't even consider China a socialist country, they're really not in any regard.

Though I do hope that the people of Venezuela have learned their lesson, in that their country is ruined forever if they go down this path again. Though, people forget quickly.

The Catholic Church have a habit of spiriting away (the only spirit they actually know) offending priests during their "internal investigation" allowing the monster to molest more kids in the unsuspecting new parish. That practice must be automatically considered obstruction of justice.

I would go further then calling it a habit, I would say this that is a systamatic problem inside the Cathloic church as they try to keep their image up.

Movie recommendation for anyone interested : Check out Spotlight - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1895587/ - This is a movie about how the Boston Globe broke the story in the 2000's about how the Catholic church was covering up massive scandals (pretty much what's coming out now again)

I really do hope that everyone in power in the Catholic church sees some penalties and such -- I'd also LOVE to see these people go to trial.

I doubt it.

They probably can't even produce enough for their own people.
I wouldn't go this far, as I do think that they really do have the ability to produce -- they just have some pretty horrible management problems in their country which is riddled with corruption and is going to lead to them being destroyed from the inside rather than from the outside.

But I do want to point out to OP that it's virtually free for people of Venezuela, and only the people within that country. They can barely afford gasoline anyway and it's pretty useless to them. I've never understood what the longterm goal is in these oil countries -- is it deplete all your resources then watch your country die, because that's what I'm seeing as of right now....

WOW! I'm sure Bruno must be happy to have such a ringing endorsement. I personally am selling my grandparent's house to raise capital for my YTC investment.

I'm selling pictures of my asshole to raise money to buy PAQ's and YTC's, I am uh having some trouble raising actual money though, guess I have an ugly asshole or something hehe!  Cool.  Got some weird offers, one anonymous fellow wanted to trade some goat porn pics for them.  I almost did that one cause I figure bruno might sell me a PAQ or 2 from some goat porn!

Woah, publicly outting the pictures of my goats is a pretty gross thing to do.

You know you think you have friends out here and then they tell the world about your weird offers, what a mean and rude thing to do. GOATS ARE PEOPLE TOO

2645  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslims refugees in Europe on: September 02, 2018, 06:20:08 PM
Well I can say that the US dodged a bullet by not accepting mass amounts of refugees into our country without being able to properly vet them -- so yeah, I do think that this was a blunder by the European nations of the world. While not vetting / making sure these people are safe -- you're pretty much ensuring that the worst type of people are being allowed to trickle into your country.

Take this article for example - https://www.newsweek.com/migrants-europe-violence-crime-germany-study-770105

More than 90 percent of the 10.4 percent increase in reported violent crimes was attributed to young male migrants in Germany's southern state of Lower Saxony, according to a new study from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. A huge wave of migrants flooded into the European Union in 2015 from countries through Greece and Turkey that led to more than one million migrants applying for asylum in Germany.

There's no reason to accept people in with open arms like this while ignoring the fact that they could be corrupting your nation -- I'd much rather have proper vetting and screening to ensure that your citizens are safe.
2646  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what is the fate of Zimbabwe after Mugabe's exit? on: September 02, 2018, 06:06:27 PM
Zimbabwe is a failed nation. I am glad that finally Robert Mugabe has been overthrown. But it is going to take decades to stabilize the economy. Also, I hope that the new ruler will encourage the white farmers to return to the farms from where they were driven away.

Decades of opening up the economy, removing all of the old price controls and socialist things which are present in the government.

But don't worry, a couple decades after all these reforms take place someone who is calling for the same things that Mugabe did will rise to power under his communist agenda and yet AGAIN force the country into chaos.

God I have no hope for nations like this, though I do hope they prove me wrong -- I really do hope.
2647  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why obama did nothing against the pedo networks ? on: September 02, 2018, 05:51:05 PM
Why are you still trying to blame things on Obama?

Shouldn't you be blaming Trump at this point?

What pedo networks are you talking about?

Do you have any evidence for this, or do you simply watch Alex Jones?

I'd be the first to come out and say that I'm a supporter of the President (I don't watch AJ though) but I don't understand this narrative that people are obsessed with about this whole pedo network thing.

I don't think it's true, and I don't think it's out there.

Do you really think that both sides of the MSM would cover up a story like this? I don't think so, even some less name brand but still, reputable news sites would have picked this up if there was really some substance to this entire ordeal -- but there isn't. It's just a conspiracy.....

2649  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Electric cars are the future, but not with batteries. on: September 02, 2018, 05:07:03 PM
The big reason that people love these electric cars is for a few reasons

1. People are saving a good amount of money compared to the amount of money that they're spending on gas, so this is a pretty big postitive for people who are financially savy and want to save on money. Though I would never buy an electric car new, like any other car purchase I would want to buy it a couple years old and USED.

2. People think that they're saving the environment, while they're not -- the precious resources that are used to make these batteries and such are depleting and you're not saving the environment at all.

3 You're able to 'fill up' at your own house (with the proper equipment) and don't have to stop at the gas station anymore.

I'm going to bring forward a couple quotes from a politic quotes about these cars
What I found is that widespread adoption of electric vehicles nationwide will likely increase air pollution compared with new internal combustion vehicles. You read that right: more electric cars and trucks will mean more pollution.

And as for that electric car: The energy doesn’t come from nowhere. Cars are charged from the nation’s electrical grid, which means that they’re only as “clean” as America’s mix of power sources. Those are getting cleaner, but we still generate power mainly by burning fossil fuels: natural gas is our biggest source of electricity, and is projected to increase. And coal, while still declining, will remain the second largest source of electricity for some time. (Third is nuclear power, which doesn’t generate emissions but has other byproducts that worry some environmentalists.) Even with large increases in wind and solar generation, the EIA projects that the nation’s electric generating mix will be just 30% renewable by 2030. Based on that forecast, if the EIA’s projected number of electric vehicles were replaced with new internal combustion vehicles, air pollution would actually decrease—and this holds true even if you include the emissions from oil refineries that manufacture gasoline.

You're right in the sense that they are the future, but is it REALLY better for the future?
2650  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S President Trump: Google ‘rigged’ search results, ‘illegal’ censorship. on: September 02, 2018, 04:39:23 PM
Even with Trump coming out and saying stuff like this, I don't think there is going to be any regulation when it comes to the search engines -- I think they have the money to lobby the government (at least Congress) into looking the other way while they push forward with their crazy monopoly over the internet.

I know a good amount of people are going to use the 'it's a private company, they can do WHATEVER they want'

Well look at these links and fines and see if that's really acceptable

https://www.theverge.com/2018/7/18/17580694/google-android-eu-fine-antitrust

While I'm not usually the one calling for regulation, I do think we're reaching monopoly scale here with Google.....

This right here, I think most 'crypto conferences' are just filled with a bunch of scammy ICO companies that are trying to steal peoples money with their shitty coins.

I also don't understand why there has to be an emphasis on skin color, it makes no sense to me in the least - I mean I guess there could be a market for things like this, but wouldn't it just be smarter to just appeal to all people instead of putting off all other races and people in favor of one race.

But, I guess we'll see what this conference actually does -- probably will just be a big load of nothing though.
2652  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are your thoughts on Anarchism? on: September 01, 2018, 10:41:38 PM
I would just add that people always need a leader, someone who will take a responsibility for their decisions. Besides, our brain is made up in such a way that we strive for organized structure.
People who support anarchism are just tired of the existing government.

People don't need a single leader. There were societies governed by elders and they functioned pretty well.

Anarchism wouldn't be able to sustain itself. At least that's how I see it. At some point people would start to organize themselves into groups because it would be easier for them to steal from others in a large group. At the same time others who would prefer a peaceful life would organize enclosed societies that would be able to defend better against those attacks. At some point the society would grow so much that it wouldn't be possible to rely information and coordinate everything without people who would dedicate their whole time to this task. That's how local governments would emerge.

Though is there any society which is so advanced that has been able to develop, or continue to develop under this sort of style of government? I don't think this has been the case, nor it ever will be.

I don't think Anarchism is able to support the advancements of society which have come so far -- some may say this is possible, but I personally just don't see it.

It may work on paper, and people may want it to occur -- I just don't see it as the correct way...
2653  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bible downloads banned in China on: September 01, 2018, 09:52:33 PM
A communist country banning parts of religions? Color me surprised, hehe.

These countries do this because they know that without religion, they're able to idolize their leaders -- instead of people believing in a god, they think that Mao is a god (or something along these lines in the country that you're talking about)
Religion provides people with a path of resistance against the government, and it allows people to have a set of ideas that may be different than the country in. If you remove this, it allows people to be converted into your culture easier.

China didn't ban the bible

China only banned "downloading unauthorized versions" of the bible

You can still buy the book at any book store... and presumable download authorized versions

What's the issue with the unauthorized version, is it not edited or something along those lines to fit the narrative of the Chinese government? (This is an actual question, I actually don't know)

Though the OP should have said this in the start......

2654  Other / Off-topic / Re: Women are better parents than men on: September 01, 2018, 09:20:59 PM
I wouldn't come to that conclusion at all, and I would think this is something which is going to be insanely subjective based on your own personal experiences about your parents.

I'm going to come right out and say that both parents are needed, there's nothing that's going to stop that statement from being true, and there is tons (and tons) of research that backs my claim to the fullest extent.

(Check here - https://www.focusonthefamily.com/socialissues/marriage/marriage/30-years-of-research)

I've got a couple quotes from this site though, which should be a pretty good part of the discussion we have on the site.

Reams of social science and medical research convincingly show that children who are raised by their married, biological parents enjoy better physical, cognitive and emotional outcomes, on average, than children raised in other circumstances. …[R]esearchers have been able to make a strong case that marriage has causal impacts on outcomes such as children’s schooling, their social and emotional adjustment, and their employment, marriage and mental health as adults.

Quote from: FocusOnTheFamily.com
The Report, “Why Marriage Matters, Third Edition: Thirty Conclusions from the Social Sciences,” reported on the multiple benefits of marriage, including the advantages for children. A diverse team worked collectively on the report, including family scholars from U.C. Berkeley, Rutgers University and the Universities of Texas, Virginia, Minnesota, Chicago, Maryland and Washington. They found that children who lived with their own married parents, in general:
Live longer, healthier lives both physically and psychologically.
Do better in school.
Are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college.
Are less likely to live in poverty.
Are less likely to be in trouble with the law.
Are less likely to drink or do drugs.
Are less likely to be violent or sexually active.
Are less likely to be victims of sexual or physical violence.
Are more likely to have a successful marriage when they are older.

These go on and on in the article, check it out.

Neither side is better though, they're both an integral part of the developmental cycle of a child.

Trump could just go ahead and fire Sessions at any time instead of posturing on Twitter. The reason he's not doing that probably has something to do with obstruction of justice. Not sure what you consider "rogue" - there is plenty of stuff that Sessions does exactly as Trump wants it, e.g. on immigration. The disagreement is mostly about Mueller's investigation and there Sessions seems to be saving Trump from himself. If he (Sessions) were to fire Mueller it likely wouldn't be a positive development for Trump.

Trump could yes, without a doubt. But the negative media coverage storm that he knows is going to happen is the reason that he's not going to fire him. I've come to the conclusion that his twitter tweetstorm at Sessions and the deepstate is being done to get Sessions to resign without Trump having to go through the negative media coverage (and internal strife of firing him)

But yes, I will without a doubt agree that Sessions has done a lot for the Trump agenda -- but the going 'rogue' portion of what I said is relating to the recusal from the Russia investigation. That's it.

While some people may not agree with his politics, and I may be included in some of these people, I don't think it's fair to attack a man who was without a doubt an American War Hero and a patriot. Someone who put their life on the line for this country, and died after a long career of continuing to serve this country.

Put the politics aside for a second folks, let the man's family try to find peace in such a horrible situation. Rest well, Senator McCain.
2658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Tether (USDT) supported gambling platform? on: August 26, 2018, 08:15:05 PM
Nothing is supported by USDT for gambling, and while it would be cool to see something that would provide you the luxury of little to no price fluctuations in the cryptocurrency that you're trading with -- it's impossible to see this due to the regulatory issues of a gambling site accepting a currency which is supposed to be backed with US dollars.

If something like this ever was to happen (gambling sites accepting tether) the banks that are handling USDT reserves would be in an uproar and wouldn't allow it to continue. While some small sites may be getting away with it now, I can't see that continuing for the foreseeable future.

2659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling site access and italian regulations on: August 26, 2018, 08:02:43 PM
You don't blame the Italian government for making this kind of regulation and restrictions, could be that gambling are seriously affecting their youth negatively and putting restrictions in gambling sites are the only way to cut this down. There are also other countries that put this kind of restrictions on gambling. The only way to make this better in the nearest future is for gambling sites to put regulations and run in a way that will favor the government and them.

Exactly this.

If gambling sites actually want friendly regulations from the government instead of being blanket banned from a country, they're going to have to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt they're trying to ensure that people that are 18+ (or 21+ depending on the area where gambling is legal) are playing on their site and ONLY these people are playing.

Online gambling is always going to be a burden to governments -- as people are not reporting taxes that they incur on the site (through the few that create gains) Kids are gambling online, and so on and so forth. These sites have to work with government, as they can't get away with skirting regulations.
2660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling site access and italian regulations on: August 26, 2018, 03:40:09 AM
well gambling in real life here isn't allowed , but there are literally now laws regarding online gambling since over 99% of the population here don't know that they can do stuffs online with their money
yet there are many of sites that don't allow residents of my country to gamble
if you are really interested in gambling you can always use a VPN like others here stated , the rules of your country may never change so you need that
you can also try one of the asian brokers like asianconnect or premium tradings so you can bet on different sites with them

basically you can find the best sites with VPN ,the only thing I'm struggling with is poker since there is no chance I can play with stars , 888 , party ..etc but I can perfectly gamble on sports and other casino games with alternative options

Well the thing with the VPN is that the company isn't held liable by the government where you're ACTUALLY situated. They're doing the due diligence that they're not working with customers within certain regions, such as America -- as their prosecutor's office would without a doubt go after gambling sites.

But if you're using a VPN, the gambling sites are practically given a free pass as they don't have to do ACTUAL due diligence to be able to work within a country.

Gambling is bad enough, I don't like the fact that people are skirting regulations and people are allowing this to occur.
