2741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First Banger Coin of the year!! on: January 01, 2022, 04:27:45 PM
This project launched yesterday and has been killing it. They got called by a ton of groups and have a strong community backing them as well as a top tier influencer. They are playing off the Cheems token success story of last year with a trendy name. Join the tg and check out the website, this team is very professional and based and 100% safe. Join in and have a look around and check out their website and plans as well, you dont want to miss this one!! Tg is https://t.me/Cheeems2022. Website is https://cheeems2022.com/

Where is the official announcement of this token  here in Bitcointalk, sounds like a pump and dump token again very unusual name for a token I check the site, and very little information that can make this project legit you admitted on your about us that

Cheems was one of the most successful and hyped tokens of 2021, so we are trying to recreate that hype now in 2022.
so this is a hype coin where the devs are the first to make money and late investors will be the bag holders.

does look like another memecoin to me. the devs always want to make hype even when there are only fewer than 20 people in the community. i have seen a lot of memecoins purposely created just to have more activity on their chain but it's just there for less than 1 sats in price.

memecoins seem dying already and the only that will be visible on the top 100 of CMC will probably be the memecoin with thousands more late investors who bought at its ATH and had not dumped because they thought it's going to $0.01.

Of course, this is another meme coin, this developer are still banking on the popularity of it and so they created another one at the start of the year and then goes to social media to promote it including here in the community and pretty obvious that this is a shill as there are no even ANN thread to begin with.

Not sure if meme coins are dying though, as long as there are noobs who are willing to invest on it and ride because they are thinking that they can make quick and easy money, then this people are going to create meme's like every week.

That's a big prediction against Emma, does Pam saying that she is just a one hit wonder? (well this was the case in women's side though, there are some who after winning a grand slam suddenly drops out of the top 10 and was never the top player they are).

But we can see that after the changes coach, her game has deteriorated. But we will have to see, hopefully she can still compose herself and still be like the player that suddenly break into the limelight last year specially winning the US Open.
2743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about lottery? on: January 01, 2022, 03:24:21 PM
What's your opinion on lottery, whether it is an addicted gambling practice or it is quite Ok to buy lottery regularly. There are people who allocate separate fund from their earnings for lottery. Only the luckiest will make the win, and today got to read about a lucky winner on the UAE lottery. It is the first time in his lifetime buying a lottery, and he had won about $3 million. He's working as a labour and he has said to the media he'll buy agricultural land in his village (India) and support develop the school in his region.

For a gambler? of course it's a good deal to buy a lottery ticket but you have to understand the chances of winning on this game.

And just like any games, you don't need to be addicted to it as obviously, it is another game of chance. And that is true, it is base on luck. And maybe that's what really to this guy, who is a first time buyer of lottery tickets but fortunately for him, lady luck is on his side. And the good thing is that he is trying to get back to his community by building a school. "Karma begets karma".
2744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 01, 2022, 01:58:30 PM
I just read that Chris Bosh is hoping to use this pandemic nonsense to get himself a 10 day contract with the Miami Heat.  He's been itching to get back on the court ever since his health issues caused him an early retirement.  He's said for years that he's still in playing shape and is ready willing and able to do so.  While I'm not sure any team would really want the risk of a player dying on the court, it might be nice to give him a 10 day contract and use the current horrible situation that NBA teams are in to at least bring joy to one man and his fans.  Bosh deserves it and I hope we get to see him take a jumper from the elbow before the season ends.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/chris-bosh-wants-a-10-day-contract-from-miami-heat-let-s-get-the-band-back-together-i-m-in-shape/ar-AASiico?ocid=msedgntp

Bosh is very old and he should probably just stay put - his legacy is already cemented anyway.

It would be very nice to see him back but I think that the risks that would have to be taken to get him back on the court would be unjustified.

Let's not kid ourselves here. Bosh is not going to be a contributor, let alone any substantial one, on any team.

He is not old yet, he is only Bosh 37 years old just like Lebron James. Age is just a number and if Bosh can contribute to the team, why not give him a chance to come back and play. Besides, if ever the heat will sign him again, he will not be the oldest player on the team, they still have Udonis Haslem who is already 41 years old.

I think it all boils down as to how Bosh have invested on his body, just like what Lebron does. He really take care of his body in his prime years and that's why Lebron is still very fast and can go for a fast break dun just like in their game against Portland. Not sure what the state of Bosh though, maybe he is still active despite the fact that he has retired years ago. Not saying that he will be a good contributor, but why not give him the benefit of the doubt and see if he can go against top player in his position?
2745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin first week price speculation on: December 31, 2021, 07:06:55 PM
TA patterns repeats... Until it doesn't.

Oh well, what do you expect from a fairly young market as bitcoin? Everyone is looking for a pattern, until it doesn't work anymore.

I honestly think that BTC will likely be quite bearish to start the year because of the momentum going into the new year, and the halving cycles just not aligning with 2022.

Well it bitcoin is going to be bearish then the pattern will repeat itself right? 2017 massive spike and then followed by a bear market in 2018. So the 4 year cycle is still in its effect.

But hey, no one knows what will truly happen - the markets are honestly just a random collection of signals.

It might be random, but as volatile as this market, really hard to predict the price, it's just wild and educated guesses, arbitrary numbers that can be hit or miss.
2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: December 31, 2021, 06:11:31 PM
but Inoue's camp is staying away from Casimero, that may ruin the Monster's Undisputed record.

No way Inoue's camp will stay away or avoid Casimero.

It's just reasonable for Inoue to ignore Casimero now because of some event that happened recently.

If Casimero wants Inoue to talk again, he should win against Butler first.

I think they consider Casimero as a threat, and we all know that Inoue's manager wants to protect his cash cow so we may have the impression that Inoue is avoiding Casimero. But I honestly think that Inoue wanted to fight Casimero it's that Bob Arum is the one trying to not make the fight happen and that is bad for us boxing fans.

However, they can't really avoid Casimero in the long run, sooner or later Inoue will run out of opponents and on the contrary it will back fire on him if he/they totally avoided Casimero in the future.
2747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: December 31, 2021, 04:34:31 PM
Now that Pacman is already retired, Thurman is coming back to try to win and dominate, that has been his goal from the start, it's just that he took the risk of fighting Pacman and failed, but despite that, people are still happy with this boxing journey so far and they still believe that Thurman is a championship caliber fighter.

Well we are not sure that Thurman could dominate because even Pacquaio is already retired there are still a lot good boxing fighter that could probably will going to make a hard and difficult fight for him. However, in this scheduled game between Thurman and Barrios I do also expect Thurman will going to dominate the game and could possibly win either via knock out or unanimous decision. I don't think if betting odds were already out.

Actually he was dominating this division for years before he gets that shoulder injury, rest and wait for it to heal, comes back and fight Josesito Lopez, very tough for him. And then the takes on Manny which is a wrong move back then because at the back of his mind he can defeat Manny, but we all know that is very wrong. And now that he wants to make a second comeback, for sure he has learned a lot from that mistakes. But this time it's very different, now we have Crawford and Spence and also Ugas as his main competition in a division once he was the top dog.
2748  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN 🌊 PRICE TARGETS 🎯 on: December 31, 2021, 03:24:55 PM
What do you mean price targets? for short or long term?

I think the obvious price target for bitcoin is $100K. This is the most sought after prediction price as the most popular prediction model S2F points out that we can reach this price at the end of this year.

And others may have pointed out that it was really very accurate up to October if I'm not mistaken. However, things really turns upside down, and although we hit an all time high in November, 6 digits was nowhere near in December. So for me, long term this will be the price target.
2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 31, 2021, 01:20:31 PM
I'm thinking of putting a bet on the early game tomorrow.

2 games that I think are too early in my timezone but I'll probably watch this game since I'm waiting for the new year and with some celebration, I'll definitely be awake.

The games I'm talking about are the Suns vs Boston, and Bulls vs Pacers.
I'll back the road teams here individually (single bet) and will do a parlay as well.

So Suns ML or handicap? they are the favourite to win against the Celtics though so I guess it's a good choice already. Current line is -4.5 as handicap, I think the Suns can cover it too.

Bulls vs Pacers, Chicago is hot, DeRozan and Lavine are the best duo we have right now, while the Pacers are somewhat is crumbling as a team, even losing at home recently as betting favourite.
2750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Better to Hodl or Stake your Tokens? on: December 31, 2021, 12:07:17 PM
Of course staking is better and more profitable than just holding on, I'm currently staking CAKE, BANANA and MATIC, with the current market price I can earn around $22 per day from staking, of course if the price skyrockets then we can get double profits.

Yeah, I think both of them are profitable in the long run. And as long as you have been given a good APY then why not take it? But beware of the risk as well, as we all know that the market is very unpredictable and even the project itself as we don't know if they are going to disappear or scam it's stakers and investors.

And as compare to holding, you can control of your coins/tokens because you have the private key. As the saying goes, "be your own bank". So it's up to the individuals, as to what they prefer but both has it's pros and cons.
2751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to Hit $150,000 in 2022 on: December 30, 2021, 09:25:16 PM
150k isnt required, it may happen but I wont take any negative if we didnt achieve such a high target.  I think Bitcoin is just fine if it stays at 50k for the next 12 months and we have to wait till 2023 or 2024 till anything especially interesting happens.   Its sometimes more important to develop sideways and expand the base and range that BTC is interconnected with rather then this price target to rising.   Put it this way, too rapid a price rise will tend to restrict new entrants and discourage buyers who might be willing to take part in BTC economy with a more steady path.
The ironic point could be that many view a higher price as the positive when the opposite can also be true in terms of the overall health and revenue of business done in BTC.

I think it's more a a "want" for investors to see at least the price hitting 6 digits next year.

And with all the predictions this year to hit $100k, everyone almost believed it will happen and for sure majority has been disappointment to see the price this December. Nevertheless, we still have hope next year that we will find a bull run to push the price again.

I agree that a rapid spike is not a healthy sign, but once this bull run takes off, we can't really tell it to stop. It will continue to grow until we hit a snag or the bubble being burst.
2752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 30, 2021, 09:05:25 PM
I'll be taking Utah Jazz -6.5 vs Blazers, Blazers are on a two game losing streak, and I believe it become three tonight, McCollumn, Nurkic and Covington would still out for the Blazers and I don't think just Lillard can carry them against Utah Jazz.

Same here, I think Jazz are too much against Lillard as Mitchell alone can already match Lillard plus Jazz have more supporting cast that could also generate points. I hope Mitchell will play though as he is listed as "Ques Wed - Back"... but even without him there's Clarkson and Conley who can still take over.

Congratulations we won our bets!

Not too many games to select from tonight, but I like the Denver Nuggets vs Warriors matchup, Warriors will be without a couple of players including Draymond Green, but I believe Curry us capable of leading the team and I'd take the Warriors -5.5

I'll tail you with the Warriors bet,  as I believed that Curry will not allow himself to have a shooting slump early on and let the Nuggets build a huge lead and them trying to catch up again as it is very hard.

At least stay with the Nuggets throughout and then just go in the 3rd quarter which they usually do. Everyone needs to step as well, Wiggins, JTA, Porter.
2753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: December 27, 2021, 07:46:59 AM
But the thing is that Barrios is the one going up in weight and we don't know if he can handle a full 147 lbs boxers. He was knockout by a midget (Tank Davis) at 140 lbs. What more of a legitimate welterweight with powers in both hands? So I doubt that he can pull an upset just because Thurman has not been in the ring for two years.

Also, this is my assumption and I do not advise to use this information when making decisions when betting on one of the boxers.

I disagree with you. That weight capability should be one of the factors we need to include in our analysis of a certain match. There are already lots of events before that a boxer got a problem in an actual fight because they are not used on that catchweight limit.

Not an assurance that the mentioned factor is helpful but it can give us a preview of how the fight will look like.

Of course, that is whey we have weight classes here, because it aids us in analysing the fight. As Barrios is not used to this weight, while Thurman has been campaigning at welterweight since the beginning of his career. Unless Barrios are like the greats, Pacman and Canelo Alvarez who goes up in weight and defeated their opponents. There's nothing extraordinary with him, in fact we all know that Davis has knock him out already. And so fighting a bigger guy in Thurman might be a problem for Barrios.
2754  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is still in a downward trend, will it last long or temporarily? on: December 27, 2021, 07:14:32 AM
But we are just above $50k and just hanging on it, if we have a good bounce to $55k then maybe we can say that we are not in a dangerous trend.

Looking at it's past history, every December we have this kind of burst during Christmas and New Year so I'm expecting the same. So for me it looks like a temporary pump and absolutely no way to see $100k in the future as we might see bearish next year.
Looks pretty steady so far, talks about $100k happened in the past months and I was on it as well, though seeing the market right now, it's not going to happen at least for half a year. If it did, which I highly doubt, it's just going to be a quick bubble imo and might even push Bitcoin to levels lower than it is right now, maybe go back to the price of Bitcoin in the year 2020. It'd probably go sideways now, I don't think it'd go down since we just had that, probably found a foundation to hold itself, for now.

Right, it's going to be a bubble and that's what we don't want to happen next year.

In any case, we should be happy that we have reach a new all time high in 2021 and the streak continues that after a halving, the price really went up.

As for the next year, for sure majority of us will be prepared, 2022 might not be a good year, but still we can take it, accumulate and hold will be the game. Profits will always be there, it just we should learn to mitigate the risk also.
2755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 27, 2021, 06:33:32 AM
^ Correct, it is expected but the margin though, it seems that the Cavs really push the pedal in this one and didn't give the Raptors any chance to make the lead at least decent.

Same with the Spurs vs Pistons, 144-109, and just like the Cavs, all players contributed on this big win. I guess this will be the trend for low rank teams, if they are not healthy or at least most of the players are under the health protocols, expect blow out wins against them.
2756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 27, 2021, 04:43:39 AM
Not much interesting game tomorrow. But maybe Wizards vs Sixers might be a good one. Wizards have been on a losing streak and they will try to break it against the Sixers. However, without their top scorer in Beal, it will be very difficult, so I'm picking the Sixers here, -3.5 with odds of 1.90. I think it's already attractive to most bettors here.

Yep, I think it's a juicy odds already, might as well parlay this to other games to make it more attractive.

Miami vs Orlando, I will go with Miami, Butler and Tucker might play in this game so that is a big boost already for them.

So I will have a parlay betting here, Miami -8.5 + Sixers -3.5 for a good 3.67 odds.

If you tail the -3.5 picking up Sixers then congrats. As Philly really won by a big margin here, covering the small spread by good odds with plenty of room to spare.

And if you parlay it with a Miami handicap -8.5 then another congrats for that huge sweet odds. I didn't watch the game but it seems that Miami might lead all the way and your handicap was too close but a win is still a win.
2757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A supermarket in Mexico now allows Bitcoin payments for all their items on: December 27, 2021, 03:44:20 AM
very good promotion, of course the euphoria of the people who shop will be increasingly crowded. If people in Mexico are familiar with bitcoin, it will be very easy to run it.
Adoption continues to grow and continues to receive attention.
but adoption must be done if the government allows it. Don't go against existing regulations. The 20% discount given will certainly add to the attraction for shopping using Bitcoin payments. Take advantage of the right moment.

Hopefully, this is going to be a win-win situation for us bitcoin enthusiast and for the supermarket itself. Imagine the hype in Mexico if people are going to realised what the supermarket is doing, giving discounts for them whenever they uses their precious BTC.

Not sure how big bitcoin is in Mexico, and maybe this will really push it there and who knows they can be the next government after El Salvador to totally accept bitcoin as legal tender in the next coming years.
2758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hoddle or day trading on: December 26, 2021, 11:26:40 PM
I have some altcoins I bought at the ICO stage which did x pricee movement and now are dead while others are still at a stable price but I will like to make some profits at this time should I continue holding or start trading them to make instant profits what will be your advice in this situation.

Well the profit taking should be during the huge boom of ICO in 2018 because some of them are really dead as you have said. Anyway, my piece of advise is that you should sell them and move to other coins that has been going up instead of letting your capital sleep on those dead coins. But before moving, choose wisely, DYOR on my next projects are you going to invest, best of luck.

Exactly, he is already late and for sure there's no more profit on his token he bought during the ICO craze. And obviously, you don't expect it to be still competing in 2020 as the trend has changes to NFT and others like staking and swaps.

So no need to hold them, better sell them even if the OP suffers a lost. That's the nature of crypto though, if you stay too long to hold a shitcoin, you will be trap.
2759  Economy / Economics / Re: Did you realize in real life how Bitcoin gave us financial freedom? on: December 26, 2021, 10:46:16 PM
Bitcoin gave us a future of DeFi. Decentralised Finance is really the key term here. The next step would be to stop using centralised exchanges and find better ways to keep Bitcoin more private, as well as using the newest Taproot update to its full potential to bring Defi to Bitcoin. No more middlemen, no more unwanted regulations or restrictions. Your keys, your coins. Just as the plan has always been.

Yeah, that's why for me bitcoin is the definitive definition of Defi, even before this Defi thingy broke the crypto space this year.

And this has been the case for bitcoin itself, no more middlemen, we have total control of it, and our own bank and we can withdraw anytime we want. And this is why the government is really hell bent on stopping this crypto revolution, but sorry they can't do it. This will continue in the next 50 years or so and will give anyone the financial freedom they want.
2760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's new All Time High (ATH) has been reached this year again (X2) on: December 26, 2021, 01:43:55 PM
^^ It has a hard time breaking $50k because it is considered what we call mental barrier. But once we got over it, we can surely hit the next support level of $52k, so hopefully that will be the price before the end of the year. At least above $50k is already good. And we will not reach a new all time high. We should look forward next year, as we could still see a bull run and touch at least $100k as predicted. So let's see how it will pan out in the future.
