1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 18, 2022, 04:29:33 AM
One critic though is that Garcia fought a 135 pounder in 140 lbs division, so he has all the advantage and the leverage in this fight and he do had to do, that is to knockout a 135 lbs.

And then again, he call Davis, so which weight they are going to face? 135 or 140? He said that he won't back down in weight for nothing? So really confusing as to what Ryan is trying to accomplish, and which weight category he wanted to stay?
1982  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin scenario crashing to $20.000 - $23.000 on: July 18, 2022, 03:50:16 AM
Today the price is up about 2% but still around $19k, hopefully it will return to $23k tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and the next target is July can return to $40k, nothing is impossible because rising tens of percent has happened and often happens in a day.

Don't get ahead of your self mate, $40k is unlikely, we are still in the bear market, and this recent spike could not be sustain then we will go back below $20k again. We even reaches as high as almost $22k if I'm not mistaken last week and yet it did go down again. And which means that speculators are playing the market, and whenever they see a good chance to sell and make a profit they will do it. So I'm expecting the same here, if we ever reaches $22k this week, I'm expecting another sell-off. So this might be another trap being set to us by manipulators so just be careful and just expect the worst this year.
I would say that 40k is not a big big leap from here. People think that getting 2x is a big deal, but in crypto it’s not. I agree that it will not happen in July, but if it were to happen, 15 days is more than enough to double bitcoins price. You'll see, when the price goes 2x, it will happen very fairly quickly, not now but it will happen fairly quickly.

Hence, I do not see it as a big trouble, I see this as an inevitable thing that we are waiting for. For all these, I am not selling my coins, I am just holding them and I think it will go up very much. So much so that, if I hold it for another 3 cycles like this, I will be able to retire as a rich person.

I do agree, yes we can do x2 or even more, but what I'm saying is that the prevalent market conditions, we are in a bear market and as what the article link by the OP, this is mostly the case right now, We will remain in that price range, $20k-$23k, because of what is going on and recovery will really take some time.

so I doubt that even a $30k push is possible in the next couple of months or even at the end of the year. We have to accept that scenario that we are really in a bear market and that we have to endure it again.
1983  Economy / Gambling / Re: Good gambling tipster on: July 17, 2022, 07:50:27 PM
Obviously, experienced NBA bettors here will not simply "trust" some random guy in youtube for his tips. And not sure if the OP knows the supposedly tipster or not.

I also didn't click the link, but if he is talking about the Warriors next season as NBA winner, then why not? I mean they just won the championship and they all have momentum. Although most of its player that help is gone now, GPII moving to Portland, Otto Porter to Toronto, JTA to Lakers etc. But their core is still intact.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 17, 2022, 09:10:28 AM
^^ Really hard to digest what really happen to the Lakers last season and how it become toxic. Although it was really evident that in the beginning, something is not right as even in the pre-season with all eyes on them and high expectations there were already signs that it might not work and that what happen. And then Lebron injured himself and so is AD, Russ games didn't flourish, the supporting cast is not performing as expected etc etc. There is no single point of failure, just a culmination of bad timing and maybe bad decisions.
They don't have good supporting cast because they traded the ones that were really a big piece of the success of the Lakers. Now, they realize that they don't really need another superstar, in fact, Lebron and AD is enough because both have already won a championship together with the Lakers.

I think it's a win-win for them when they offload the likes of Kuzma and KCP and Trez base on their performance last season in the playoffs. And it's good that Washington that time accepted it so the Lakers think it's a good trade for them. But we already know what happen next and we only have our own speculation and biases as how it went downhill for the Lakers. Mostly the blame was put to Russ shoulders alone.
1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 17, 2022, 08:36:22 AM
^^ I guess we have to include Loma in the discussion because that is Lopez best win in his career. But then again, Loma was injured, then he wanted to have a rematch, in which Lopez didn't want to. And Teo obviously chooses the wrong fight because Kambosos beat him badly.
Exactly, Kambasos gave him a match that he will not forget, I was even surprised that Lopez was expecting a win after the right even though he was hit by a lot of power punches from Kambasos. Lopez is not a real man, he should give Loma a rematch as a sign of respect for the old champion.

And now that he is campaigning in a new division, again, a lot of good names in here so it will really expose Lopez on how good or how he is an average fighter. Against Campa, maybe we can say that he can win here, but against tougher a tougher natural welterweight, we will see how he will go against them.
He can win against Campa but will probably struggle against a legit champion in this division.
Campa is probably a cherry-picked fight for Lopez IMO.
Based on the list he only has to deal with Josh Taylor, Teofimo Lopez is still a great and skill full boxer and he can match what Josh Taylor can offer he will be a legit super lightweight if he beats Campa and will fave the way to challenge Taylor, he needs to be spectacular in this fight just like he did when is in the lightweight division.

Super lightweight/Junior welterweight
WBA: Vacant.
WBC: Vacant.
IBF: Josh Taylor.
WBO: Josh Taylor.
The Ring: Josh Taylor.

It's not easy though, of course only Taylor name was their because he was the undisputed, But he gave up obviously two of the belts already and it will be fought by former champion Jose Ramirez and Jose Zepeda, that will be a banger fight.

If 135 lbs is easy for Lopez, this 140 is very different league for him. Not saying that he won't survived, but there are a lot of live boxers that is more capable of being him even with a knock out.
1986  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everything down against the USD, which is down.. on: July 17, 2022, 08:04:52 AM
Not sure what do you mean by this, but as far as our local fiat=USD yeah, the value is like we really have some inflation problem already. The last time that this happen to our local fiat, it's like in the 2008 market crash or 2000. So there is no strength in dollar right now, means mean that we are all *f**k* up as recession is 100% real and it's hard to recover from this one.
1987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese digital economy to integrate Crypto and NFTs on: July 16, 2022, 11:23:52 PM
Perhaps the government find something in NFT that is why they are now in their radar.

We don't know yet, but sooner or later they will. I heard news that NFT market place is being used by criminals to launder their money, so maybe the government is trying to crack at it and maybe look for clues is there if there is some people within China is using it? Who knows, Or maybe the government will mint their own NFT? anyhow, let's see how it goes, what if the hype on NFT died down, will they continue to integrate NFT?
1988  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2022-07-11] Bloomberg UK - Bitcoin Is More Likely to Hit $10,000 Than $30,000 on: July 16, 2022, 11:00:53 PM
Again, this is just the repeat of the 2018 bearish market wherein we heard a lot of this social media businessweek magazine like Bloomberg, predicting how bitcoin will fall with this x number etc etc.

So I'm not surprised, and at the same time, will not blame them. It's their job to create this click bait article. But for those who have followed crypto and bitcoin for at least 4-5 years now, everything is possible, if it hits $10k, then take advantage of it and buy more BTC in our pockets.
True, I cannot get even mad at them because if I was in the same position as them then it is likely I would do something similar, after all it is FUD that almost writes itself and it is very easy to spread, however we must not believe everything that we read on the mainstream media, because even if that prediction became true that low price should not be a motive of depression but of joy, as I really thought that is a price I will never be able to see again.

Right, not all been written is true in social media, that's why we have "fake news", or something that is not validated, specially in crypto related media wherein everyone can right a content and publish and then it looks like some experts wrote it or something. But if you look a it, it's pure FUD, the only thing is that if the price hits $10k-$15k, that will be the perfect opportunity for us to rebuy because we might not see this price for a long time.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 16, 2022, 03:06:04 PM

Nice to see that both have no problem in the weigh-in, and they respect each other.

Garcia is the taller boxer here but not much of an advantage though, I like to see his quick footwork and power punches, if we can see a KO here, then next game should hype for a Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia fight.

If he can do that, then there's no problem arranging his next fight for Davis. Promoters will be happy to set it up, especially if he will manage to knock down Fortuna. He needs an impressive win to create noise and hypes. If he can do that, the next fight will bring him more money on the table.

Moving back to this upcoming fight, it's good that both fighters are fit and there's no problem with regard to their weight.

Good luck to all bettors who will take to whichever side they place their bets.

Garcia will win here, I'm very confident with that but I would not put my bet on him because the ML is very low.

In the sportsbook I'm using, here are the betting odds.

Garcia - 1.08
Fortuna- 8.80

Huge underdog, but I don't want to risk some money on Fortuna, and it seems this fight is tailor made for Garcia to win as you have said unless something really out of the ordinary that Fortuna hit Garcia and score a knock out. But for sure Ryan is too smart to get hit and derailing the fight that he always wanted, a huge fight regardless in 135 or 140 lbs with Tank Davis. And that is the fight that we all wanting to see.
1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 16, 2022, 11:43:20 AM
Yep, even Ray Leonard had some public exhibitions after his detach retina operation. So it's in their DNA, nevertheless they should know when to pull the breaks otherwise it might endanger their lives for good. And this is we don't want to see happen to Manny in the future. Sure, he can take some exhibitions fight, but still at 40, he needs to be very careful as well. Probably just light touches from his opponents will be ok, but not the brutal punch to the head or something.
Just follow the script if there is and they will be safe.

I see exhibition fights are scripted fights, it's just a way to entertain fight but boxers already know that they have limitations and rules to follow, otherwise, it will be very risk for both boxers since it's not their profession anymore, hence, they are not training like they usually do.

I think the first scripted fight that we have witnessed is the Tyson vs Roy Jones? Everything was perfect and we have been fooled. I mean crypto bookies have it as Tyson as the favorite, and then we have referee and judges.

Unfortunately, the script has been build since the beginning that this fight will end in a draw. And there was a lot of uproar. Nevertheless if Manny will fight, hopefully we will not find this kind of script fights wherein there is no winner.

Well, we can already assume what would happen because there is surely some script on the fighters involved if we speak about exhibition match, except if that exhibition match is an was consisted of MMA fighter vs boxer in the ring just like Mayweather-McGregor fight.

If Manny will have an exhibition fight soon, I bet it would be Mayweather on his first list because they didn't got a rematch when both of them are still fighting professionally but we can't be certain that there will be no script on that.

But maybe even in exhibition fight, Mayweather will still refuse to have a rematch with Manny. But we will see, we thought that Floyd will not fight Conor but he did for the love of money.

So when the money is right for sure he will accept it, but there could be more conditions and still wanted to remain undefeated even in exhibition and fix fight.  Smiley

A little theory of mine

Every model breaks, when too many people anticipate on the models results Smiley

Could be true, but the hardest part of this model though that it remains very accurate if we look at it and then we are just one step before we can see $100k. However, we didn't reach that far, so yeah, every model has to break, and then a new model re-emergence.

But if we look at his model, there is already some deviation and yet we keep on believing because we wanted to see 6 digits and maybe some of us are already counting our profits.  Grin. And now he recalibrated and pointing that 2023 is the new 2021.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 15, 2022, 02:12:51 PM

I believe PPV sharing is probably the main reason why they haven't come up with a deal yet. Spence's previous PPV buys are a little better than Crawford's. Spence also has more belts to offer in the division but Crawford is the only ATG of the two.

There's no other reasons, Crawford here has to agree with a small share because Spence will not agree with a 50/50 share.
he has more belts and he has a better PPV record in the past compared to Crawford.

We get it, Crawford is also a champion but Spence have proven enough based on the numbers he have.

However, Spence versus Crawford might be the biggest payperview revenue in the history of boxing. It might be more than the payperview numbers of Mayweather versus Pacman. It would be very stupid for Terence Crawford's team to not demand a share equal to Spence's share.

I'm not sure about this, Mayweather vs Pacman did 4.6M buys, that is hard to crack. Although that Mike Tyson vs RJJ did a decent numbers in the pandemic reaching around 1.65M.

So I'm guessing maybe around that numbers or maybe it will be as high as 2.0M but nowhere close to even Conor vs Floyd or Floyd vs Oscar Dela Hoya.

Mayweather is a PPV king, period.

The reason why he is the richest boxer in the history of boxing if I'm not mistaken, and I don't think the current era of boxers would defeat him. His era is full of exciting fighters, they have Pacman of course, now, boxers doding each other just to remain undefeated.

I think we cant' deny it, the numbers already speak for itself. And yes, I don't think that Crawford and Spence fight will break the record. Sure they have fans but I don't think they have the charisma of a Manny Pacquiao and then the arrogance and brandish attitude of Floyd that people wanting to buy tickets or watch his fight because they want to see him lose. Not going to happen because he remains undefeated when he retired in pro boxing.

Maybe this fight will break in the top 10 but not going to be in the top 5.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 15, 2022, 01:39:12 PM
There is also some noises that GSW will get Demarcus Cousins for a second time?

This is just rumors though, but what will the Warriors benefited from him? Maybe the veteran that he is, could be a good mentor for the young guys like Kuminga and Wiseman?

Anyhow, let's see how this will turn out, last season he did contribute to the Nuggets during their playoff game and even scoring 19 points in one game if I'm not mistaken.

1996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitepaper says "We" on: July 15, 2022, 11:51:04 AM
There's no decisive answer ti this, but what we need to remember that the comunity back then was nonexistent and that we probably ment both the people the people involved in the project as well as the small comunity thta would make use of it.

I think the community is already there, they might be commuting already, maybe old BBS or something. But not as big and prominent as this one we have today. But 'we' might pertain to a group of people, not necessarily contributor to the code itself, but people who inspire Satoshi to create his own invention (might not be the first), but it became successful in its first 10 years.
1997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current Financial Market Condition on: July 14, 2022, 08:51:53 PM
It's no secret that US inflation is on the rise. Dollar strengthened yesterday against euro and pound, which attracts the investors to invest in other assets. Is there a way out of this problem and who is most involved?

Other assets like what? the world is really messed up right now that it's hard to think what assets is the best to hedge our wealth? I don't think there is one currently, obviously not even crypto because we are in a bear market and it might take some time for it to recover. And you can't just put your money in the bank, no way that your money will earn interest with the inflation that we are seeing. So there is no way out of this, all we have to do is wait it out till everything settles down in the next couple of years.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 14, 2022, 08:13:13 PM
Yes! gladly they haven't matched him with someone who is stronger than him in this division and he can have some warm-up with this upcoming fight before getting a chance to fight a champion. If he gives an outstanding victory with this one, I'm sure they quickly give him a chance to fight a champion because no one really wants to delay him when he is getting pumped up in this category. He can actually quickly adapt to this weight and bring both his power and speed to this weight class which will become one of the biggest challenges for his upcoming opponent.
Campa has fought 36 fights in his career and has never fought outside of Mexico, so you need to understand that this fight is organized to prepare Lopez. The start of the fight can be calm, the fighters will study each other, by the middle of the fight, Lopez will get into his rhythm and feel comfortable against Campa. I see Lopez winning by knockout here.

To be precise, Pedro Campa mostly had his fights inside Mexico but this is not his first time traveling outside his own country to have some fight because he also had a fight last 2015 against Aaron Herrera at Glendale, California where he won by a decision. That said, this is not his first time traveling to America after all.
Campa here is also a decent boxer as he's still at his prime and definitely has more experience in the ring than Lopez. The latter is also good but he still need to be cautious against Campa even if his KO rate is much higher.

And that's why we haven't heard about him, because his fight in mostly in Mexico. And we all know that they usually padded their records in they only fight in their home territory. Imagine Canelo, not going in the US and we see his record like 50-0 and then he goes out and went stateside. Good thing is that Golden Boy put him even though he is very much inexperience that time against Floyd and the rest is history. However, I doubt that Campa can do the same, as others have been saying, this is a fight that is custom for Lopez. To look like he is a puncher at this division.

2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 14, 2022, 07:22:03 PM

Casimero and Ancajas are now the bright prospects of bringing glory to the PH in the world of boxing.

I think Casimero is now the best fighter in the Philippines, if only his title was not stripped, he could fight Inoue and we will see how far Inoue could go against him. I believe that Casimero will become a champion soon, and we will have a Filipino champion to follow again.

Filipino boxers are so unlucky this year.

Casimero
Magsayo
Donaire.

They all lose their title this year.

Well, that's boxing though, sometimes you lose, in the case of Casimero, he lost his belt on the weighing scale. While Donaire to a young monster and then Magsayo fell short because his talent seems to be raw.

As for Nietes, same case with Donaire, old and aging champion that wanted to bring back the time. But Ioka was the better fighter. He is at his prime and Nietes has no answer when the bell rings. And there was no controversy, as he lost badly, but during his prime, he is one of the PH best.
