1941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 31, 2022, 11:07:40 AM
I have added a poll for you guys to vote on this fight.

I'm the first voter and I voted Lopez to win by TKO/KO he needs to be impressive because he is coming from an embarrassing loss and he is in a much higher weight category, this fight although looks like a cherry-picked is still a dangerous fight for Teofimo

Quote

Although this is not as huge as Lopez's other fight, this is going to be an intriguing match because as you guys have said, this is Lopez's first test in this new weight division. And he could give a impressive showing here, then give it as a signal that he is back and then will go to "Takeover" this division.

He is still the takeover that we all know, its just mismanagement and out of focus, and because of his medical condition, now that he is healthier and he got his old trainer back, he will be back in business after this fight, Lopes will take over this match I just hope its as impressive just like all his other wins.

If he wins this fight, then maybe the old takeover is back, and for sure he is going to declare that after the fight. But his lost on Kambosos was not about mismanagement, he said in the interview that he has pressures on the Kambosos fight.

And hopefully though, he is 100% healthy now, no more of that injuries he suffered because of the negative effects of Covid-19 on his body. I agree, he should win this impressively.

In other final which is going to play at Umag (Croatia), clay we have two new generation players those are going to be had good future in tennis, and surely we will watch them for long time in this game. Here competition is very exciting as Sinner is in good touch, and he can do good job for win this title and Alcaraz is also having good touch even he lost few days back a final but now surely nothing is easy he can fight back, and we will watch entertaining match with I am feeling over 2.5 is very good option for bet.

great final in Umag, two young stars on small tournament, it will probably be great to watch, and third setter should be expected
Alcaraz is a bit closer to a win, which odds show as well, but he lost his previous final to another Italian future star Mussetti, and will be under pressure to win it this week
Sinner has also something to prove, and probably Italians will come to support him, since this is near the border

over 2.5 seems as best option, agree
I am thinking between over games and handicap on Sinner. As I said Alcaraz is not playing as dominantly as he was earlier in the season so maybe Sinner has his chance. There is a lot of Italians in the crows since Umag is one of the destinations on our coast that they like to visit. Sinner was very convincing in his previous matches as well. In the end this can go either way and smart thing would be to just skip betting on this one.

Same here, I'm looking at Sinner +2.5 right now, if this is going to be close and Alcaraz is not as dominant in this tournament then Sinner could have a good chance to steal this one from him.

So this can still go either way, and who started very strong and can hold it mentally, can win this match. Over and then ML at 2.23 might be good value bet for Sinner.
1943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: July 31, 2022, 10:17:32 AM
Bitcoin has gained so much popularity and recognition in the past few years that it rose from nominal prices to almost $69000 in 2020. It however gained hundreds of billions of dollars in capitalization over the years. The situation has changed with both appraisals/approvals and backlashes on the cryptos by some countries, especially government officials.

Yes, bitcoin narrative has change over the years. Now we have different set of players, institutional money and then government started to invest on bitcoin as well.

Inflation is another problem, and they have successfully caused Bitcoin to remain at lower levels compared to its all-time peak of almost $69000. Its market capitalization today is a little above $454 billion, which is still a good value. However, in events that more backlashes and higher inflation negatively affect the crypto some more and finds itself at about $1000. What would be your reaction? Will you turn your back on Bitcoin or has your investment just begun on it?

As for me, my investment has just begun. I have learnt from my past mistake.

It's not that inflation causes bitcoin to go down, it is the cycle, the pattern. Every 4 years we have this bull and bear market. As you have said, it rose to $69k, then go down hard around -70% of that all time high. No one can stop it, sooner or alter the market will go on a boom and bust despite inflation or even the war.
1944  Economy / Gambling / Re: A New Era for Betting - (After Corona Circumstances) on: July 30, 2022, 06:46:51 PM
Considering the time when they played in empty stadiums and then how people were allowed with masks and vaccinations as well I do think that we have come a really long way.

The whole idea is making sure that people do not spread the virus but at the same time there are countries like the UK where it's spreading tremendously but they are still having matches normally, The epidemic have improved the sanitation and provided a new era for gambling and betting undoubtedly.

I do think we are as close as we are going to get to normality but the online betting sites are an excellent alternative to in-person bettering especially concerning with sports betting as well. They provide more offers, have more practical applications and at the same time have better winning percentages in certain areas, what not to love?
Well, even if we are now living in this new normal, I still think that the pandemic is still going on. The reason why most of the people still play online and bet on their favorite teams through online. We can’t also blame them because it’s always safety first before anything else. While some people are starting to see real games from their big stadiums, others are still doing online betting as they feel more convenient doing it at home without a need to travel far from homes.

Although there are sports that are now being played with fans including football as what the OP has described. So I would say that we are going back to where we were before the pandemic. However, some of us might not be comfortable and wishes to stay at home. And that's where online gambling enter. So even if, let's say fans are going to the stadium to watch, maybe some of us are still watching in tv and doesn't want to risk. And instead of going to land based casino, still prefer to play online. That's what pandemic changes in our lives as a gambler.
1945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: July 30, 2022, 04:41:59 AM
It pains me to bump this thread again...  It really does...  I read an article today though that says McGregor and Mayweather are currently in talks to do a repeat of their last fight.  Supposedly they're arguing now over what the rules would be.  Dana White recently said that he wouldn't sign off that fight, but money talks and I'm sure he says that every time he would have to go into a negotiation like that.  It sounds like a fight is making progress though, which is confusing because McGregor said that his return would be in the octagon not the square.
As usual, these fellas need to set up something just to fill their pockets once again on simply showing off some jabs and running and viola... Easy millions.

Just snipping out something from this article.
Mayweather has reportedly offered McGregor $157.9million (£131.5m) for the rematch and is said to be willing to put his unbeaten professional record on the line.

https://www.sportbible.com/boxing/conor-mcgregor-floyd-mayweather-rematch-20220726

For Dana, when the money involved is something that cant really be ignored then i wont really be surprised if he would be signing up.

I disagree. Uncle Dana has already mentioned many times that he does not want to be involved in promoting UFC fighters in boxing anymore. He certainly made money in Conor versus Floyd Mayweather, however, Conor lost the fight and this reduced the UFC's branding. Francis Ngannou wanted to fight Tyson Fury, Dana said no. Kamaru Usman wanted to box versus Canelo, Dana also said no.

Lock this thread.

Did it really reduce UFC's branding when Conor lost? not sure about that though. Maybe what Dana lost is that Conor didn't come back to UFC anymore after tasting that huge money pot, like a sweepstakes for fighting Floyd.

So maybe that's Dana's rant, if Conor could be back in UFC or at least fight once a year, maybe he could allow this fight to happen as big money is going to be in the table for both fighters and for himself as well.
1946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 30, 2022, 04:07:49 AM
Do you think the sixers are guilty in tampering and early contract?

If they are found guilty, they can be fined up to $10 million, forfeiting of draft picks and suspension of executives. The article said that void of contract is virtually non-existent but still, if they get slapped with the fines, it will still sting.

Is it worth it? For me, if they get a ring, it is worth it.

Quote
The NBA has opened an investigation into the Philadelphia 76ers for possible tampering and early contact centered on the franchise's summer free agency class of James Harden, P.J. Tucker and Danuel House, sources told ESPN on Friday.

Source: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34314466/sources-nba-investigating-philadelphia-76ers-possible-tampering-centered-james-harden-pj-tucker-danuel-house-deals

I know that James Harden name will come up because those two are former Rockets.

And then him willing to a pay cut in order for the Sixers to accommodate more players to help them win the ring. And then these two suddenly goes to Sixers.

Really hard to say at this point, whether it was known all along that the Sixers are going to get the two in exchange of Harden's having a pay cut, or maybe he himself float that to the management itself.
1947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 30, 2022, 03:24:35 AM
The first set just ended between swiatek and garcia and the result was shocking garcia managed to win 6 1 a really bad set from swiatek i didn't see her perform so poorly in a while, it seems french players have figured out how to stop her but i don't think its over swiatek still can make a comeback and now we have a decent odd for her winning.
Shocking loss in the end for Swiatek, she was able to win second set 6-1 but lost the third set and lost the game at her own country. You would never expect that she losses at home against Garcia. That Wimbledon defeat knocked her badly down she needs to win a tournament and comeback
There is no doubt shocking defeat for Swiatek at home in front of his fans, but we have to praise C Garcia as well what a display of game from her 2 hours 17 minutes marathon time for win against World no 1 and Roland Garros champion after having record of 0 - 9 is amazing win with the score of 6 - 1, 1 - 6 and 6 - 4.

Even now after defeat another tournament we have to wait for next turn from World no 1 because still she can fight back strongly hopefully this will happen soon because now we are heading for another big event where things could be completely different, and these ladies need to do more effort to win track.

Maybe just a bad night for Iga, however, we can't take this away from Garcia, she is the 5th seed so obviously she is capable of beating any on the team seeds, it just so happen that Iga was her victim in her own country.

As for being World no 1, she has a big lead already so I doubt that someone can take it from her this year. As for Garcia, she will be facing Jasmine Paolini. Jasmine come back from 1-6 defeat in the first set against Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland.
1948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: July 30, 2022, 02:50:02 AM
It's going to be a big deal for Kambosos because he clearly lost the first fight and this was his only defeat. If he gets his ass handed to him for the second time he's going to make his lifetime score look much worse and he's taking on someone who's clearly better than him. We're talking rank 1 vs rank 4 in the division. The only good thing going for him here might be that he learned something from his first fight. I feel like he's going to lose again.

If Kambosos has learned something from this fight, it's that he can't go brawl with a technical fighter because he will be countered all night. And that's what Haney did in the fight. And if ever he adjusted, for sure Haney will do the same.

I like the 'ass handed to him' metaphor, and yeah that's what we have seen in the first fight. Kambosos has no answer whatsoever and as the fight goes on, he was evidently outclassed.
1949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bull run 'getting interesting' as BTC price hits 6-week high on: July 30, 2022, 02:16:35 AM
I like the price to recover but to call this recent rise a bull run is to have no idea what you are talking about or to want to mislead people.

Have to agree here, despite the encouraging recovery so far, this is far from a bull run. The interesting aspect is that price is near to closing back above the 200 WMA ($22.8K) as well as 50 Month MA ($22.6K), indicating that the current bear trend could be coming to an end. But this doesn't imply a bull market is to come either, only a relief rally anywhere up to $50K, a "mini bull-run" as it were.

Another good post mate, yeah, so far the we are still above both the 200 WMA and the 50 month MA. So that is a good indication as least that we are relieved that we won't see a huge price decreased, not unless there is another negative news that will affect the price drastically.

So hopefully as we go on the last quarter of the year, we will have this so called mini bull run. If we did then you think that the 4 year cycle is going to be broken?
1950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store on: July 30, 2022, 01:53:21 AM
This is a good move to begin with, I'm not really sure, maybe this is the first time that I heard a real life story of a business person accepting crypto in this community (I might be wrong).

And then you proved that it's really the volatility that shun away many online stores to accept crypto. And even those early stores that accepts crypto in early 2017 or even much earlier, have close the door on bitcoin and the rest of the crypto because of the same reason. But at least in your rest, you try your best not to be affected and you are one crypto enthusiast. It's not just how the price is going down or up, but keeping it and making people or your customers aware of it. Good job.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 29, 2022, 12:41:57 PM
Interesting disclosure about Zion Williamson’s contract with the Pelicans. He’s financially incentivized to keep his weight down or else the amount of guaranteed money in his contract is reduced. I’m order to get the full amount, Zion needs to keep his weight + his body fat % below 295. I imagine that means he needs to stay under 280lbs. While that may seem easy, there were speculations that his weight had ballooned to over 325 while he was injured last year.

That's good for him though because now he will be more determined to get ripped and stay below 295 because he can the most of his contract. The Pelicans have done well regarding Zion Williamson's situation, they surely know that the kid can achieve greatness at the peak of his capabilities if he can stay fit, and being overweight will just get him prone to injuries.

Perhaps he still haven't adjusted yet to the NBA. He really need to be self discipline otherwise he might not stay in the league for so long. He is athletic no doubt about it, but he needs to take care of that. And one thing is to get in shape, maybe 280-290ish might be the ideal weight for him. He can go and be agile and then higher as he is slimmer. The kid is 22 years old, and I would say that he need good people around him, sort of an adviser to help his in his career.
1952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 29, 2022, 12:16:45 PM
Bob Arum has been talking publicly about lowering pay-per-view prices. Last week, he suggested lowering it to $20 to $25 dollars. With that very low price, I don't think people will look for illegal streams anymore. Even myself, I would rather pay that amount of money for a Crawford-Spence fight. But I will stream illegally or not waste my time at all on cherry-pick PPV fights like what Tank Davis has been doing unless I can see very good matchups in the undercards that are also rare these days. Ryan Garcia for example should be a fight night fighter or in the under-cards of championship fights.

I'll be honest that the last fight that I watch is the Manny-Floyd fight. And that's it for me, all the fights that I bet and watch are from all youtube streamers. Sometimes they will ask for a simple donation that you can do to keep it going. But if you are unlucky, maybe just a couple of rounds and that's it, the live stream is cut and you have to look for another. It's better that spending a lot of money as you have said to cherry pick fights. But still, that is huge amount of money already in my country if I will have to pay $80 to watch the fight live.

I think it will be easy for youtube to terminate the illegal stream, and personally, I have no luck finding a youtube stream of a certain PPV fight, most of the fights I saw are from the Facebook stream which is not in HD, however, who am I to complain, it's free so it's okay.

The thing though with those Youtube streams is that as you have mentioned, it's not full view and then Facebook very active in terminating any streams they found illegally. But there are websites that offers free, but the ads though and you don't know what might you have inadvertently installed in your pc, so it's not safe as well in my opinion. On the other hand, you really have to pay expensive to have a good view with no commercial interruptions. So it's really up to us, maybe some highlight in Youtube or just read how the fight goes.
1953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rise of Streamers in Online Gambling on: July 29, 2022, 11:44:30 AM
On the other hand this streamers though could be paid so obviously, the results might be rigged so that those watching are going to be attracted. So it's a win-win for this streamers and the casinos or games that they are promoting.
These streamers serve as Brand Ambassadors or Slot Ambassadors, some of them are paid to stream so that viewers are interested in the games being played. I've watched some streaming videos with big wins, then I think every time I watch streaming videos. why every time they stream they always get a big win, the question keeps popping up in my mind, because luck isn't always on the same person's side, so I tried to play slots on the same site, but the results were very disappointing.
Manipulation can be done on the slot that is being played, because the system can be set at any time by the owner of the slot.

Although I don't have enough knowledge about slot technicalities but slot games is under3rd party provider which means casino has no control on the result except if they request for a special slot software that is rigged but most of the streamers that usually hit jackpot are burning huge amount of money to bet multiple times just to hit the jackpot. They have huge bankroll to bet many times compared to normal players that has limited bankroll.

Not all streamers is sponsored because many of them are just streaming for views or referral commission earnings from there viewers. Only big time streamers is sponsored while the rest is just getting profit on streaming alone.

But it's hard to differentiate who's who, who is playing real or fake money.

You just have to think about it, someone is playing with max bet of $100.00 living in the basement of his parents house. So if you do the numbers, $50k maybe in a week or two? $100k in a month? How can this live streamers can play with that huge money and all they streaming is the amount they won?

And then majority of them are playing in a second or even mid tier casino, yeah this is probably a setup but for now no one is going to admit it. Of course, it's really up to us to judge them.
1954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether fully regains its peg on: July 28, 2022, 11:00:33 PM
I've not noticed anything strange on the Tether charts over the last couple of weeks to cause any sort of panic. It has always experiences mild volatility with the $0.01 to $0.005 range and that is not also surprising, considering trades are always occuring over the different exchanges.

Right, as long as there are no huge de-peg, I think Tether still looks good.

Perhaps all eyes are on the stable coins in the last couple of months because of what happen to Terra USD that's why they are being highlighted and the moment someone see it's de-pegging to supposedly 1:1 if become a huge news.

But as the title of this thread, it seems that it has recovered already, so no worries for now. And I guess Tether really knows that they are in the watchful eye so they will have to work double time and proved that they are not going to collapse by having reserves right away.
1955  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 28, 2022, 10:37:47 PM
Trading and gambling are two different things - but somehow they are also linked together. ...

In this case, a lot depends on the person himself and his attitude to trading or gambling. If a person is a player by himself, then he will definitely transfer this skill to any activity that he will be engaged in. Accordingly, having come to the cryptocurrency market, he will trade with a high degree of risk, which in his opinion will have to bring either a quick profit or a loss of money.

There are a lot of similarities as what we have found it, (based on experience), if you do like sports betting vs trading, they are almost the same. You need to know that market itself before you can used your money in hope of making a good profits. Definitely, both involved high risk, high rewards scenario, so it's really up to the individual how to mitigate the risk in both gambling and trading.
1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rise of Streamers in Online Gambling on: July 28, 2022, 02:16:20 PM
I will agree though, specially those streamers that shows very huge win, in the millions of dollars that maybe some will go and try it for themselves and see how their luck will be.

On the other hand this streamers though could be paid so obviously, the results might be rigged so that those watching are going to be attracted. So it's a win-win for this streamers and the casinos or games that they are promoting.
1957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 28, 2022, 01:18:17 PM
Seems 2 Australians are going to play against each other in round of 16. De Minaur and Duckworth, haven't seen the odds, but maybe I will bet later and go with the Over in this match as this could be a 3 set match between this two.

Only 3 seeded left, Isner (2), De Minaur (3) and Brooksby (6). The games though are kinda late in my timezone so I have to bet this early. Los Cabos tournament though, lots of good name, and defending champion is Norrie of England so this could be an interesting tournament in the coming days.
1958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 28, 2022, 12:48:05 PM
The Golden State Warriors have shown some interest in picking up Carmelo Anthony for next season. I’m not sure how well he would fit in, but I’m sure he could do some damage off the bench. I’m thinking it would probably be his last chance to win a championship, so it wouldn’t be a bad option for him. I’d wait to see if Kyrie gets traded to the Lakers and see if I could run that back before anything else though.
Not really bad if the GSW will pick him. Last season IIRC it was him that has been taken almost at the last minute since no team would like to have him but good thing he's saved. I guess I like him to be there because of the thought that he's gonna take the ring with him before his retirement.
Maybe all of us would agree with that matter and the rest, arguable about the whatnots of him being in the dub nation.

Perhaps that what we all wanted to see for Carmelo, win that first ring. So much publicity goes when he join Lebron with the Lakers in hoping that somewhat him and Bron could be a good tandem and could take them as far as the finals, but that didn't happen. But with the Dubs it might be different for Carmelo, the Warriors has a lot of players that wanted to win back to back and maybe Carmelo can be somewhat a factor. So I like him to be pick up by the Warriors at least this season.

Great 2nd team I guess, Carmelo is now healthy, so despite his age, I'm sure he can still drop a decent number playing the system of the Warriors. They will be a fast face team, it could be new for Carmelo but hopefully he will be able to make the right adjustment to fit.

Maybe his role will be like in the Lakers, in their to shoot the 3 as we all know that they love to go outside with Curry, Klay and Poole. And maybe Melo from the bench will be their guy to make that shoot. Yes, last season Melo was healthy with the Lakers, so that is a good sign already. But still up to the Warriors coaching team, for sure Kerr will have a good plan if ever they will get Melo this season.
1959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: July 28, 2022, 12:11:52 PM

The poll should include if the fight will finish and reach the decision. A big favorite like Shakur Stevenson would imply that he can knockout Robson Conceicao. However, if you look at their records I predict this will reach the decision. Also, where do you think or speculate thr sportsbooks will place the over and the under? 7.5 rounds? This implies over 7.5 rounds is a better bet thsn under, I reckon.

Conceicao is a tough guy he is a warrior but technically Stevenson is a much better fighter than Conceicao I don't think that Stevenson can knock out Conceicao but we never know, style makes the fight if both fighters will go all out we'll see a stoppage, Shakur cannot underestimate Conceicao he is still dangerous and had a good resume including the first Brazilian boxer to win an Olympic gold medal even though he is a heavy underdog and can still make a huge upset.

I'm just thinking, maybe Conceicao might be tougher than Valdez?

What are your thoughts about that?

A good boxer like Shakur doesn't underestimate their opponents, Herring and Valdez are two great fighters that he has beaten and gotten the belt. But Conceicao is an Olympian and so is Shakur, but yes, style makes fights, so I will give credit Conceicao is he can last the full 12 rounds without getting knock down or losing by knock out.

Not sure why Ortiz is still fighting as his age, I mean this is the Heavyweight division, sooner or later those wear and tear are going to show up. Although I will agree that he won his two last fights after he was KO by Wilder in 2019, but those two fighters also hit him hard. Against Charles Martin he was twice, rounds 1 and 4. Imagine what will a power puncher like Ruiz will do to him if he hits him solid in the chin with all the force, it will be quick KO win for Ruiz.
