1821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 08, 2022, 09:16:21 PM
Is anybody here following Haney's Twitter? I like how he is being vocal and at the same time trolling or trash-talking. Last month, Haney was trolling Teofimo Lopez calling his performance like a poor one against a non-ranked fighter.

This month of September he is targeting Tank Davis, calling his WBA regular belt a Mickey Mouse belt. Of course, the WBA belt is not a major title since Haney got the Super WBA belt and all the remaining belts in the division. It's funny because prior to becoming an undisputed champion, Haney was called an e-mail champ after his WBC interim belt was upgraded as the WBC champion after the corrupt WBC president Sulaiman tried to introduce its new WBC Franchise (similar to Super WBA belt) belt as a major belt with higher credits than the usual WBC belt.

I actually like that he's too vocal, honest,, and opinionated at the same time. Most of his tweets are reliable though he's calling out other boxer's performances in a negative way yet his honest with his reviews. Other boxers and fans are already aware that Haney is just vocal at everything. He says things straight forward without fearing anyone.

He's just giving back the favor that he received some time ago, just like you said, he was used to be called as an e-mail champ. Now that he is the undisputed boxer in lightweight, he can now say anything what he likes to say to his fellow boxers in the same division as long as he doesn't cross any line. And of course, he has the right as he now boast to be the boxer to unify the belts in the said division.

Right, he was not given the respect he deserved some time ago. They said that he doesn't have the superstar power of the other 3 lightweights that time, but how ironic that he is now the undisputed and the other 3 has no belts except for Davis. So it's cool to here this from Haney and hopefully he can schedule with either Tank or Garcia or even Lomachenko in the future.
1822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2022, 09:01:37 PM
No doubt offensive production, but Melo also needs to adjust to his defense, younger star might expose him and take that advantage, giving him a tough game, treating him as the weak side to make or create a play on his side.
kind of coach doesn't want to see having someone inside as a liability.

Seems not appropriate for me to expect Carmelo Anthony to adjust his defense at the current point of his career. He is almost on the retirement period. Why expect him to adjust on his weak side wherein the best thing he can do is to take advantage of what he's capable to do. The roster can be balance with both offense and defense. No need that all players are good in defense especially if Melo is on the lineup.

If struggling, then sit him out. He is currently averaging less playing time now compare to his usual. No need to give him 30MPG or something.

Yes, the league already knows that Carmelo is more of an offensive kind of player and even if he tries on adjusting his weak side, that will just mess his entire play because he will mostly try to improve his weakness rather than boosting up his strengths. Along with that fact, the whole league is looking at him as an additional asset in terms of offense because he can still give good numbers at his age.

The problem is that he's a liability on defense.  He had flashes of effort last year, but it's clear that he's out there to hit some threes and pad his stats.  I'm fine with it, but he's going to have difficulty landing an offer from a franchise he wants to be a part of.  Dame got him into Portland and LeBron got him into LA, but I think he's running out of friends to get him roster spots and I personally believe he's been blackballed from the NBA, so without a superstar making a push to sign him, he may have played his last game in the NBA.

I think teams already knew that he has and will be a liability on defense. When he play with Denver and then New York, in his prime, he didn't play defense, but he brought success to the team. And so now, it is just more evident as he is not the same Carmelo Anthony we know. We see from time to time flashes of old self in Portland and Lakers. So the next team that will get him should understand this and weight if he is more of an asset.
1823  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a reliable store of value - what’s a reliable store of value for you? on: September 08, 2022, 08:44:51 PM
I still want to keep my money in bitcoins and even though the price will still be as it is now, up and down, I'm not afraid because it's just a part of bitcoin that will probably always be there until later. If you are afraid to save money, maybe you need gold as a place whose price will not change much compared to other types of investments.

As long as you are not going to sell it in a bear market or at least a time that you will never profit then your money is good with it as store of value.

Bitcoin is a unique store of value because its price can go down and up, and we never know when that will happen. Apart from that, the rarity of bitcoin is one thing that makes it unique so I think bitcoin is a store of value as well as gold.

Again, still boils down on how you are going to put your money on it to become a store of value. So it's really up to us per individual on how we are going to make it our own store of value. Because if we look at the price it is very volatile, hence could not be classified per se at SoV.
1824  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do $19k again before a bull market? on: September 07, 2022, 09:47:55 PM
The last 2 days the bitcoin price dropped more than 10% and is now only around $18600, I hope we are at the lowest point and hope to return to $20k soon, if previously the price was below $20k it only happened a maximum of 40 hours and now it's more than Our 50 hours are under $20k.

We have seen worse when btc went under 200$ in past, I'm bullish on bitcoin for the end of this year.
I think we'll see a sudden surge in btc price like we saw in past, btc going over 1k, then 10k, then 20k. those boundaries were crossed quickly, I think the same will happen now.

At least the market has started to recover right now, we are over $19k and it seems the bleeding has stop or traders and long term investors started to buy bitcoin when it was $18k. So that is good to hear that we didn't go lower than we expected in the last flash crash, no lower lows. But, we are still in the bear market, so I'm not expecting a huge pump till the end of the year and we could see a sideway pattern again this month.
1825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 07, 2022, 09:29:42 PM
it gets really interesting, Ruud and Khachanov in first semi-final

on the other half, Alcaraz has also possibility to reach no.1, and facing Sinner, while Tiafoe is facing Rublev, who ever wins US Open, it will be his first GS title, and that is happening after last season Medvedev catch his first title here, and eventually reached no.1, is this history repeating for some other player?

Yes, most likely we might see a new no. 1 after this tournament, as Nadal and Medvedev is out and so is Djokovic. And it looks like the era of big 3 is coming to an end now, but hopefully we can see another set of players coming as the heir apparent, like Alcaraz and Sinner. Rublev vs Tiafoe, let's see if Tiafoe can continue his giant run. One of the favorite, Nick is gone so the crowd will have to find someone to cheer and it could be Alcaraz.

And Tiafoe beat Rublev in 3 sets, almost all of the games went into tie-break. But Tiafoe converted one in the 3rd set and it was enough for him to win against Rublev.

Waiting for the result between Alcaraz and Sinner. They are schedule to play at in 3 hours. But since the match of Tiafoe and Rublev ended much earlier. The Alcaraz vs Sinner could be advance as well and hopefully I can still watch it my timezone.
1826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 07, 2022, 09:13:46 PM
Anyone who has seen the interview with Patrick Beverley? The reporter asks what are his thoughts about playing with Lebron and Davis.

And you'll find it funny with what he has answered. He said, "They're playing with me."  Cheesy

--> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veFBxgrwN6I

That's the video from NBA on ESPN channel on YouTube. I'm not affiliated with them, it has 1M+ subs.

Typical delusional Pat Bev stuff… I really hope he isn’t a starter for them this year.

An article also came out today talking about how Utah sent Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland as payback for him poisoning the team chemistry after Rudy Gobert gave everyone covid. Not a good look for Utah or Mitchell really.

I don't think he will be a starter in Lakers, for sure he will have to come from the bench and do his thing, with his defense. And probably he said it as somewhat like a joke so we shoudn't take it seriously.

As for the Mitchell and Gobert, it's weird though if that is the real reason for sending both of them out of Utah. But it's obvious that they have a problem in the playoff and it seems they always choke.
1827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) on Its Way to $2,100, Top Trader Says ! on: September 07, 2022, 01:58:55 PM
we are approaching the latest version of ethereum. I think it needs an adjustment that we don't know when it will stabilize. but for ethereum to be able to return to the top even though there are bad things in the adjustment it is not difficult. from the start ethereum already held position two and lasted even more than a year, maybe the adjustment won't take long.

Unfortunately, the hype has died down because the market is suffering from a sell-off. I don't know what is the reasoning behind, but it seems there are a lot of FUD and negative news that influence the selling pressure. So it's hard for ETH to go above $2k even if the merge will push or has push already. Nevertheless, we should hope that it will be successful including those who are going to have a chain split resulting to ETHW or whaever they will call it as free coins.
1828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 07, 2022, 01:28:40 PM

But yeah, just a couple more days to go before this finally landed, everyone is anticipating that they will just continue what they left off in the 2 fights that the had, round 25 in this trilogy starts.

I know everyone is patiently waiting for this one, it's going to be another great fight for sure, just like the last two fights, it's not boring, and since it could be the last fight, this trilogy will surely end up leaving people entertained after the fight. The question now is, who will win the battle, the majority think Canelo will win, but I think GGG really has a shot here, the underdog is gonna win, my guess.

Check the votes in the poll, majority thinks that GGG will win in this fight.

Maybe you are talking about the sports bookies odds, yeah, they have Canelo as the favorite just like in the first 2 fights. Nevertheless, boxing fans here like you wanted to see that this 3rd fight will be in GGG greatest performance, enough for him to secure a win in the judges card, and please no controversies, we already have that in the first 2 fights.
1829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 07, 2022, 01:08:49 PM
That is why the percentage of Inoue winning isn't 100%.  There is always this extra factor, the one that is unpredictable that can turn the match into an upset win.  But in the case of Inoue, I think Inoue can handle the strongest punch of Butler, so Butler winning via TKO/KO is really slim.  The only way for Butler to win the fight is to outpunch Inoue and drag the fight to judge's decision.  Which is kinda hard for Butler because as far as I know (if I am not mistaken), there are only 2 of Inoue's fights that go to the judge's decision.

That's right. Upset is not possible here because a LUCKY PUNCH SHOULD BE THE STRONGEST PUNCH.

Even Paul Butler can able to land successfully a blow on Inoue, is the power enough to take the monster down?

Therefore, don't expect a lucky punch rather Butler needs to rely on his own strategy to win.
If Butler happens to win then this would be one of the biggest upsets we have seen in the last 10 years, but no matter how much I think about it this seems like it is something impossible for Butler to do, the only realistic strategy I can think for Butler is for him to try to avoid a close quarter fight and keep his distance from Inoue during the whole fight and try to beat him on the score cards, but even a strategy like this seems beyond the capabilities of Butler to execute.

Yeah, but the question is, can Butler do that to Inoue right now? This Inoue in the last couple of fights is really destroying the opposition like they are a total mismatch. He is like a prime version of Manny, when he started to go up in weight and then beating the champion in that division. So I'm sure Arum knows that very well, so after setting him to win here, he will go up again and unify the belts in the next division. Butler and the rest will have to really catch up on Inoue, but not seeing him creating the upset.
1830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: September 04, 2022, 01:33:57 AM

I'm expecting a entertaining fight, both could have their moments. So let's see which one can get it first because I'm not expecting this fight to go to the distance. Someone will have to get knock out here, hehehe.

It's unlikely to go the distance both fighters are always a punch away from victory, this is a fight worth watching even if there's no belt at stake, its great to watch a fight where both fighters are knock-out artists and they are staying to be in title contention, both fighters cannot afford to lose, even if they won their last matches, they already challenged for the title and this could possibly be their last chance for a title shot.

King Kong though is very slim but very define at his fighting weight of 245 lbs and it seems that he really trained very hard for this fight although he is the underdog here.

Yes, this is there last chance, winner will have a crack at Tyson Fury's WBC belt as this has been sanctioned by them as a title eliminator. But there is already talks of a Fury vs Usyk fight for unification.
1831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Merge - Vitalik memes and lots of expectation on: September 04, 2022, 01:14:07 AM
An action cannot please every body, like the ETH merge, many are hyped about this merge while others are having a doubt.  So it is not surprising that there are people who are a bit hesitant to par take in this merge event.  And I think most of them are POW miners.
Because of unclear plan for this merge, many are hesitant to make a move for now and they are just waiting for the day of merge because that is the only time we can know the result and effect of this update. I still have no plans for this, don’t even know yet if this merge will be good for ETH itself, but then again I’m very positive since ETH can’t afford to make any mistake and with this, I know they studied this very well.

I think it's not that the plan merger is unclear, they already have the date. It's that suddenly there is a group of miners who suddenly will go for the split, hence ETHW although they already have the the Ethereum Classic.

So the expectations for this hard fork and the free airdrop  is not going to be easy for us ETH holders and that's where a lot of questions arises including how and when they are going to get it, what will be the prie of ETHW or whaever they call the split chain coins.
1832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That's why I really like bitcoin :) on: September 03, 2022, 11:02:31 PM
You don’t have to physically carry it around. You can gutter the paper or plastic and free up your precious fund space.

Yes, this is one advantage of it, you can just save your previous bitcoin in lets say a hardware wallet.

Bitcoin is like a bank that’s in no way closed, this currency is moving and available 24/7. Further people and places are starting to accept it, from coffee shops to real estate possessors, this is a currency gaining traction and seems to be gaining worldwide acceptance.

Maybe what you meant is the (BYOB), Be your own bank. so you have access to it all the way, as long as you have the private key. Acceptance percentage though is not that high, not all coffee shops and real states are accepting it but we will go there.

The Bitcoin community has quality memes and GIF games. Bitcoin was created by software people who wanted to hack the financial world and produce a better system after the request collapse in 2008.

It's primary design was to be a peer to peer electronic system, an alternative to the current financial and traditional market.

It’s decentralized, no need for any 3rd party to babysit your sale and take a piece of it. In developing nations, this technology is enabling more practical operations that will enable translucency and combat corruption in governments.

Bitcoin is not a magic bean that will solve every human problem. So I don't think it will be a solution to corruption in government.
1833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 03, 2022, 08:59:54 PM
Guys, what do you think about those famous people in other sports (like UFC, MMA) then suddenly will shift into boxing, not via professional boxing, but as an exhibition match? Or those who are already retired but suddenly will participate in an exhibition match against a non-boxer. It was all started by Floyd Mayweather Jr. and then from there, lots of boxing exhibition matches have been executed.

Yeah, Floyd literally open the pandora's box about this exhibition match and cross-over, in the beginning it was sort of ok. But if you see those legendary boxersa and UFC fighters getting knock out, then you have to think that there is something wrong with this matches. But I guess, those ex-fighters will have to find a way to make some money will they still can, and so you can't blame them.

And the sad part, these people who are participating in exhibition matches are being paid more compared to professional boxers.

Probably its because of the hype of the fight that fans are willing to buy tickets and PPV. So I guess it's going to continue whether we hate seeing legends in sports getting laid down on the canvass that we haven't seen them in their pro careers.
1834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 03, 2022, 08:44:34 PM
I also read that the new coach wanted to used Westbrook and be a shooter.
That's funny because Westbrook will never be a great shooter, unless he will be the one carrying the ball and find ways to get inside and draw a foul. his point percentage has gone down, that's because he is not anymore with OKC, it's a different system that he is playing now which does not fit fully fit him.
Damn, all of these Westbrook rumors aren't that great at all. Westbrook is far from becoming a shooter but we don't know what's on the mind of this coach.
If he sees the potential of Westbrook being like that, then he sees it and he's the only one that can maximize his usage into that full potential of what he's saying.

It's a wrong idea, that experiment will fail for sure. They need to make Westbrook as the attacker so he can draw the defense, and since he is a great point guard, for sure he can open shooters do the the shooting. He is new coach, for sure he will not follow the coaching style of the previous coach, but at the same time, he also needs to be careful with his experiment and make sure it will work.

This is the numbers that I got when I searched about Westbrook shooting percentage last year:

Quote
Russell Westbrook shot 44.4% (548/1233) overall and 29.8% (79/265) from three in 78 games in 2021-22.

I would say decent percentage but he can improved a lot on this. So I would say that Ham turning him to be a shooter might not be a bad idea at all. Westbrook just need to bring his confidence back so that he can at least improved this numbers as a shooter.
1835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 03, 2022, 08:26:48 PM
De minaur is playing right now against Carreno Busta, and he lost first two sets and won the 3rd, and now they're in the fourth one playing a tiebreak, I really believe in De Minaur's chances to turn the tables on Carreno Busta, and win the match, the odds are high at 4.34, worth a try.

I watched the live game... he made a bad mistake on game point/tie break despite a clear advantage against Carreno Busta.

I have place a bet on Carreno Busta because it was clear that the Spanish was in a good condition.
However the odds was interesting, but after have see first two sets played so bad, likewise De Minaur was just awake or it was just a training match, it was to risky trying to bet on him.

It was quite a disastrous match for De Minaur. He did not play well. And even though he had some clear advantages in that match it is quite safe to say that he blew those advantages. He could not actually make anything positive out of what advantages he had. And I have to say his opponent Carreno Busta played very well. He took his chances wisely. But I feel it is more about De Minaur not playing well in that match. Before the match, I thought it would be quite close and quite interesting. I think it is safe to say that it was not the case.

Wasn't able to watch this game, but clearly this is a 50/50 match, never see the odds though, who is the betting favorite? It is Busta?

Anyhow, Alex though seems to be another player that is inconsistent so I wouldn't be surprised that he lost that way. He can't take advantage of his opponent eventhough he has a good chance. Alcaraz seems to be going on the next round as he is leading Brooksby by 2 sets although down 2-0 on the 3rd set.
1836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 02, 2022, 09:52:49 PM
But that's not Inoue only weapon, we've seen his powerful right as well, so very very hard fight for Paul Butler. And he has a weak chin that Inoue might target early. He can only dance as much as he can because Inoue knows how to cut the ring as well. So Butler needs a lot of energy to sustain that run until he is hit in the body or right in his face.

I agree, Butler have a weak Chin may not be a glass Chin but I think its durability is enough to absorb the power punch of Inoue.  Just like shown on the video, the punch of Tete on Butler's chin isn't a 100% powered uppercut but is enough to make Butler kiss the canvass.  This analysis makes Bultler's possibility of winning almost gone, lol.

Yes, and just imagine if that is the Monster hitting your chin, Butler might go down and kiss the canvass and can't recover because Inoue is somewhat of a volume puncher, and it is quick and powerful. I forgot the name of his opponent, but once he cornered him, it's game over, just 1-2 and then his opponents fell and can't get up on time. That is the power of Inoue with his speed, deadly combination that we haven't seen any boxer yet at his weight class that can withstand it. Donaire was able to fight it out in the first match, but in the rematch it was over in just 2 rounds.
1837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 02, 2022, 09:37:18 PM
I really wouldn't have much faith in Ancajas, although at one point he was very good, I think he has lowered his performance, and when I say performance I mean his physical condition, in his fights he manages to show a clear fatigue, but of course he is very remarkable, I know that everyone gets tired, but it is more noticeable to him, and on the other hand Martinez is in great shape, he is gaining much more fame and I think he has much more motivation than ever, I think these things help a lot and it is something to be taken into account.

Now I don't know, I think that the capacities that Ancajas can develop in the last few months that he has prepared should be taken into account, this can be very decisive.

The performance of Ancajas in his first fight with Martinez is greatly affected by his weight problem.  Instead of getting conditioned, he puts extra time, tiring himself to extract those excess weights.  I believe if his weight doesn't appear as a problem in this upcoming fight, we will be seeing a better Ancajas.

It is has become a problem for him, then definitely it will have the same effect on his second fight. Unless he had someone to watch over his weight and not drastically lose everything like weeks before the actual fight. It should be gradual that his body will be like hone in with this weight, so it's really important to him besides his training regime. Otherwise, if they don't address this, and he come up making the weight but his body is really draining, then I see the same results.
1838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: September 02, 2022, 09:21:55 PM
Yeah, he Fury seems to have that kind of personality that you are going to like. I mean just an ordinary bloke, just a regular guy you can find in a bar and have a talk with everything under the sun. He had indeed has mental issues thats why he didn't fight for a long time and some problems with drugs too.

I guess everyone has its own opinion on boxers. Floyd get the most hate but for sure there will be fans around telling the opposite.
I also like Fury, I know that some people do not really like him because of his antics but at least to me that makes him human, since it shows you don't need to be perfect in order to reach the very top of one of the most competitive and popular sports around the world, and I take this as a lesson that everyone can learn something from.

Besides we need to also take into account what is behind the comment Fury made, it is obvious that Fury knows that he's not going to receive 500 million for the fight against Usyk, so he's just making a joke, maybe we get to see the fight maybe we don't, but he has the right to set a high price for his services and there is little doubt that an unification fight at the heavyweight division will bring a lot of money to both fighters.

Probably the 500 million is just a public stunt just to provoke the public perception about this fight, so yeah probably this is a joke for him. But this is serious business, he has been wanting to get all the belts and unify it and himself proclaiming to be the best Heavyweight of all time. Just surprised to see the someone mentioning Usyk to be the favorite at 2:1? Nah, don't see it happening, Fury will still be the favorite here. But it will not be an easy fight and I think this will be his most difficult because they are like evenly match with him having the slight advantage, (height, reach).
1839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is Saylor sued by Washington (DC) an attack to BTC? on: September 02, 2022, 11:58:38 AM
I've already seen a few Twitter threads talking and connecting the dots to BTC so quickly after the news is released. The story is so easy to spin, I'd rather ignore them or just use it as a data for my trades. If it has no effect then I'd just forget it, if it does, even if the reasoning is ridiculous, there's no harm with acting accordingly. Not the first time the market will act so emotionally and irrationally, and won't be the last either.

True, I would say that those who are connecting the dots have their narratives behind (maybe anti -bitcoin), or just simply ignorance of Saylor. He is not like Elon Musk, who always open his mouth to talk about bitcoin and then do the opposite. They can't blame Saylor for seeing the future, a visionary and what bitcoin can bring. It's that the Office of the Attorney General see some merits on the case to sue him and not bitcoin. Heck the amount that he is being sued could be paid by him easily and this is not coming from his bitcoin investment.

Preev has been down for too long, so I took a few hours to make my preev.com alternative.

Here you go guys https://coinconvert.net/   Smiley

Thanks, bookmark it, at least we have another alternative and if I'm not mistaken, this is the 3rd of the alternative to preev since it went down a couple of weeks ago.
