2761  Economy / Economics / Re: Wheat War I is going to be World War III on: May 17, 2022, 03:47:58 PM
I am really confused as to how exactly this is going to lead to a wheat war? I really do not see wheat as the only food source available to humans and I am sure that all countries grow their own wheat in addition to buying wheat off other countries. In fact, the only reason we buy wheat from other countries is because it is more cost effective to buy from poorer countries rather than grow your own.

I think people should stop the panic because all this BS FUD is only serving one purpose, which is to spike the price of wheat artifically. Thus only benefiting the stock market traders.

People are such dumb sheep, its almost laughable if it wasn't so sad.
2762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mind Over Matter In Gambling Using Pendulum on: May 17, 2022, 02:59:17 PM
Do you believe in predicting what's coming up in a horse race, a boxing match, or any other match with the use of a Pendulum a divination tool in the olden days it may sound ridiculous but there are hidden stories about people who actually use divination with the use of Pendulum swing.

Many years ago a friend told me he is trying to perfect the use of Pendulum he has a 70% betting average, I lost contact with my friend and have no idea if he becomes successful.

Article about using Pendulum in football betting
The Mystical Magical Pendulum (That Loves Making Football Picks)

How To Use A Pendulum: The A-Z Guide

Do you believe that you can actually predict future events like horse racing and boxing match with the use of Pendulum.

If you need the mystical arts to gamble then I can only assume you are preparing an excuse for when you lose your money. It was the pendulum and the alignment of the stars! Should have spun the crystal counterclockwise, not clockwise. Well, whatever makes you feel emotionally better after losing, I guess.

For myself, I do not believe in such things and I already expect to lose money when going into a casino. Thats the only real way to cope after you have lost your money. Grin Grin
It would be easier to face reality and just accept things for how they really are, instead of deluding yourself into believing you can magically influence the universe into helping you win a gambling bet.

But, whatever makes you happy, I guess. No haters here.
2763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your epic fail experience in gambling on: May 17, 2022, 02:09:24 PM
-snip-

Whenever I am gambling on a losing streak, it kind of just makes me angrier and more determined to win back the money I lost, so I put in larger and larger bets and keep losing until everything is gone in the wind Cheesy

But I think everyone has had that fail.
wth, I was have same experience before,  Grin

What made my experience even sadder was, when I got a win, 10x of what I deposited, I actually expected more wins, because of the 10x that I got, I still haven't returned the capital that I lost before. Guess what, the result was that I lost and spent 10x the win. in the end, I got 2x from the winning, to stop the loss, Ha ha ha...

hahaha well do not worry friend, we will win it all back next time! Or maybe (probably) lost more. Tongue

It becomes even harder to "not win" when before the losing streak you were making really big wins and you thought that you were somehow on lady luck's good side and nothing bad could happen. My mindset when gambling tends to flip flop all over the place until I have absolutely no more money left to lose.

But jokes aside, it is important to have some sort of control over yourself and not to let emotions take over your gambling behavior. But if it does happen, remember that you are only human and it happens to everyone.
2764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Involved in LUNA SCAM on: May 16, 2022, 04:55:41 PM
I have been saying not to trust Centralised Exchanges since day 1. Especially not made-in-china/chinese owned exchanges which are never to be trusted. The worst part about it is that people still give them their coins and their personal data (via KYC). It is all going belly up one day and on that day I will say the same thing again: Do not trust a CEX, ever!

We already have the beginning of DeFi solutions which, albeit amateurish, do seem to work on a stable basis. So there is absolutely no need for a CEX, as is.

The full DeFi adoption needs to happen faster so that we can speed up the rate of DeFi and Web 3.0 technology. Centralization goes against everything that crypto stands for.
2765  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 16, 2022, 04:09:56 PM
My gut is it is a terrible idea since that second layer (LN) is very much like staking but I simply do not know much about the world.
Lightning works like staking, but there are two important differences:

  • No coin generation.
  • Actual usefulness. (Routing TX)

If you count the transaction fee delta as a generation of value rather than simply saving on fee costs, then it is in a way, coin generation. So very much like staking. Except better staking, as you get your coins at the time of transaction.
2766  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name or Site Functionality? Or Both? on: May 16, 2022, 02:54:51 PM
I see a lot of great Casinos and Sports Betting platforms here that doesn't really have great brand name but have excellent functionalities and quality designs. While some ( not so many) do have both great designs,  functionality and perfect brand name, so many majority simply don't. So, I was wondering. If I'm going to spend so much money to build a great gambling platform, why not just spend extra little more to acquire a great name? After all, nothing is greater in business than your brand equity.

What do you think? I'd like to understand the mindset of some gambling operators and start ups. What do you consider to be the most important in your gambling startup? Great name or site functionality or both?

You could be running the worlds most famous, most popular and most visited online gambling casino in the world but that does not mean squat when your code has more holes than a swiss cheese. I would never put my money in an online casino/sports betting platform which had bad functionalities and bad design. Even if the design seems lazy or outdated, thats a big red warning flag to me. There is no such thing as "too big to fail".

But that being said, I have never heard of a popular casino with bad functionality or bad design. Such casinos do not become brand names in the first place so the point is moot. Huh
2767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 16, 2022, 02:16:25 PM

I really doubt someone is going to give some random geezer ongoing winning tips about which sports are rigged and who is going to win. If the rich do rigging, then they are obviously going to keep it a secret, for people in their close circle or just themselves. From my perspective on the gambling world, rigging matches may be more common in sports like boxxing but if they were doing it so often and so widespread, somebody would have ratted them out already.

Rigging definitely exists but I very much doubt it happens a lot.
You are not suppose to be having a negative taught of rigging because you suppose be confidently believe that such thing happened and before it happens other people has being practicing it before now, because no place that manipulation is not working or co-existing, you don't need to doubt anything currently because everywhere is full of corruption

Thats not really the point that I was trying to make in my previous post, though. The point is that there are a lot of people involved in the gambling sports world and it would not be easy to hide the rigging from each and all of them. Its not a small boxing match where you can bribe a few people and earn yourself a bit of money. When hundreds of millions of dollars are involved you can be sure that there are also thousands of people involved.

You can't bribe them all. At least one of them would have ratted the others out. Its simple mathematical statistics.

I've always thought our DNA may have originated offworld, it would make sense if a civilization that was facing destruction might seed through dna strands. But its just as likely that chemical reactions will inevitably lead to their construction given enough time and reactive components no matter what the location.

I have always felt life is inevitable on a physics level and that its not some miracle.

If the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics pans out then anything that can happen will happen. So while most universes do not have the preconditions of life, an infinite amount of universes do. We just happen to be in one of those lucky universes. So it's not really a miracle. It just looks that way from our perspective.

I don't know what you newbies might think of the 'demon gates' from Mars, but instead of Ukraine or Russia, I would focus my attention more on Turkey.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

I got this notification from a telegram channel which I follow. It is a telegram channel of a Youtube influencer

Yeah, I understood your problem the first second that I read your first sentence of your post. Rule number 1: never believe any influencer, no matter how influencial they are. Especially when it comes to important matters like investing your money or buying a certain product/coin.

They obviously only advertise something if they get paid or otherwise renumerated for their efforts. Only trust yourself.

A lot of people keep falling for the "influencers" and their scams but see it as an expensive life lesson instead of a mistake. Next time, do your own research on whatever you want to invest in and do not listen to others.
2770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 15, 2022, 03:18:04 PM
As far as I see it, this is either fake news and / or a PR stunt for a certain casino or the Gambler did indeed make over 150k from 60 pence. If he did, then he was obviously EXTREMELY lucky, or maybe a time traveler from the future. I doubt anyone can predict so many winning situations so accurately. There are just too many variables in the way to make such predictions. I really hope it is real news because that man would be leading a nice, or rather decent retirement with that much cash. Really hope he does not decide to gamble it all again. I doubt he will keep his lucky streak up for long.

TLDR: Probably a PR stunt. I don't really believe it.

This can be done once you've managed to have someone give you information on who's gonna win. Some (or most) sports are rigged. I've just recently learned this from Ludwig (a streamer) from his youtube video about his experience in gambling in a casino at Los Angeles[1]. Rich people really get more richer because of such information. Therefore, I don't think it really isn't impossible, you just need great connections.

My epic fail in the world of gambling is probably the most common fail that any gambler, whether old or new, newbish or experienced has gone through and will go through again and again and again no matter how many times it happens.

Whenever I am gambling on a losing streak, it kind of just makes me angrier and more determined to win back the money I lost, so I put in larger and larger bets and keep losing until everything is gone in the wind Cheesy

But I think everyone has had that fail.

2773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 14, 2022, 12:15:29 PM
This is the sad reality in the society we're living in. If the majority is siding with it, they perceive it to be good even though they know deep down that it's not. Perhaps it's conditioned in their mind that as long as they benefit from it, despite the consequences it has for others, it's all good. After all, they are not directly affected, only the animals. And this mindset is really upsetting. It's like humans have lost their empathy just for the sake of having fun and winning money.

Despite it existing so many years now, I do really hope it would be abolished together with other gambling activities and practices that hurts and put the welfare of the animals at risk. The technology and innovation is quickly advancing and we can do so many alternatives for it. Wishing they'll divert to those instead.

Ever since men stepped on this planet he is destroying the natives of this land be it animals on lands or fishes in ocean. There are many species who cease to exists just because human kill them for fun. I dont think there are many who are interested in horse racing but in gambling. Let these animals live there life just like we are living.

At some point in the  near future I hope humans will realise that everything they do has a consequence for their own selves. You pollute the air? Good luck trying to keep breathing. Pollute the water? Your next sushi meal might give you cancer.

People need to finally wake up and realise that we are sitting on a rock with limited resources and life is in a very delicate balance. If we keep upsetting this balance, life will become impossible to sustain and the planet will lose its ability to regenerate the damage that we do.

In fact, we are already doing permanent damage. We need to stop NOW.
2774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible UST recovered ? on: May 14, 2022, 09:42:07 AM
UST is dead and should not be invested in anymore. Do not get your hopes or anyone elses hopes up. It is a failed, dead coin and if the price wasn't a give-away, the suicide help hotlines posted on Terra Luna's social media should be more than a clue and a red flag.

I feel sorry for the people who lost money, but there is no point in losing even more money by building up hope and throwing money at an obvious-looking ponzi scheme scam.

If anything this should be a hard lesson that just because someone calls something a stablecoin, does not mean it actually is stablecoin. Especially if it is based on an algorithm. It was only a matter of time until someone found a weak spot in the algorithm. Maybe the owner himself knew it all this time and was just waiting for the right time to scam everyone.
2775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PH banned online cockfighting - Worst gambling-related cases recorded! on: May 14, 2022, 09:23:50 AM
An interesting debate but I think the point is a bit moot.

On one side, cockfighting is a disgusting gambling sport which has absolutely no reason for existing other than to satisfy primal urges of hurting small animals and deriving some sick pleasure from it. On the other side, online cockfighting could be a digital, 3D metaverse thing. No animals hurt. Basically pokemon for gamblers. I don't know why real live animals fighting is so much more satisfying for some people. But I guess it attracts the scumbag crowd. The type that sells children, obviously.

I say we rename shitcoins to crapto.

I thought the 2 terms were already interchangeable.

more or less.

Bitcoin SV is now back to the same price level as it was in 2018/2019.
I'm curious: who here still has those shitcoins? I can imagine many HODLers never touched their Bitcoin, so all Forkcoins are still in there. What better way to get even than to dump them?

we call it crapto now.

1. How do we evaluate capability and credibility of some entities or individuals that trade for people or some professional traders who trade for people?

All of them are scams! If some professional trader has the capability to trade and earn a good amount of money every single day/month, why he would need other people's money? This is the first thing to understand. The behavior is very similar to ponzi schemes and must be avoided by all means.

Quote
2. I've seen some Telegram group that sell trading services and signals advice. How do we know if they are good to do business with?

3. Is Telegram escrow system a scam  or not?

Same answer is applicable here as well. If someone has the capability to predict the market, he will use his own money to become rich. Why he would sell it to the public for a little fees?

I am not sure about telegram escrow system. Do you mean it is an official feature of telegram? I haven't seen anything as such!

THIS!

Do not ever trust your money to anyone or anything other than yourself. All those telegram/youtube/tiktok/whatever traders are all scammers. They rent lambos to take pictures in order to dupe people into believing that they somehow made a lot of money trading when in reality, they are just scamming people out of their money. Do not listen to them and do not buy their courses or any subscriptions to trading groups.

I really do not understand how people keep falling for those scammers.
2779  Economy / Gambling / Re: Wizary.com |🚀NEW CRYPTO CASINO🚀| on: May 13, 2022, 10:29:53 AM
Why are multi accounts such a problem anyway?

Not a big problem

There has been little discussion about tackling promotional abuse, which is often a major issue for new crypto casinos.

That just seems a bit strange to me. The promotional offers are not really all that fancy, in fact, if they wanted to stem the abuse of promotional offers, they should find a way to make promotional offers which would not be worth going through the trouble of making accounts, submitting new KYC faked documents and going through VPNs. Or, better yet, they could restrict promotions to people who have already gambled a certain amount.

If someone wants to gamble their money away, its just going to happen faster on multiple accounts rather than one account. So that seems like a win win for the online gambling casino, to me.

speaking of pants.. anyone feeling robbed, recently?

I feel robbed of a future, or at least it looks pretty dark now. Tired of the masses not realizing a good thing like Bitcoin when it's right in front of them, even during hyperinflation (facepalm), and then more idiots begging for NATO hot war with Russia.
