2782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: May 10, 2019, 05:24:53 PM
Which are good pools these days to lease waves without getting tons of garbage shittokens?

I've used WavesLease for a while and it only gives Waves and WavesLease coins. The tons of "shitcoins" are not related to the leasing pool.
2783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hosting simple website with blockchain service? on: May 09, 2019, 06:11:53 PM
I am still looking for a blockchain-based hosting solution.

I remember an ICO about this, but I haven't seen any news in a long time. I don't remember your name right now. If I remember, I'll write here ASAP.

You probably mean hostcoin what tried to conduct a ICO in 2017 but it seems it failed. Basically they planned to implement the use case I am looking for.
2784  Other / Meta / Re: [RELEASED] @mention notification bot - now with Telegram on: May 09, 2019, 03:52:24 PM
There is going to be a change for what concern the notifications within the forum, we are moving from Thread to PM, since the PM limitations for Maggiordomo have been lifted.

Thanks for your work on the bot. I have been using it for several weeks and it helps me a lot to keep up with all my disscussions.

That it now notifies via pm is also good. But I would like to have an option implemented where you can choose to be informed via pm or thread. I think with many notifications a thread is clearer and easier to manage than pm's. Is this possible?

2786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin dead? What's happening? on: May 09, 2019, 05:11:30 AM
LTC has some solid userbase/holders. If something bad happens to btc, my second choice would be ltc.

The question is, what bad thing should happen to Bitcoin what does not concern Litecoin as well? After all, Litecoin is largely based on Bitcoin's code base. If Bitcoin goes down, Litecoin will most likely do, too.

Erinnerungen an August/September 2017 kommen hoch Cheesy
2788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: May 09, 2019, 04:54:27 AM
When quantum computers come out, will our current cryptocurrency be safe? The possibility of being stolen is not bigger! Smiley

This was discussed a thousand times. If quantum computers are ready to crack today's encryption algorithms, then everyone and everything in the digitalization world has a problem, not just crypto currencies. Until then, there will be suitable quantum-resistent algorithms, which will then be implemented in the software. So, no need to worry.
2789  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance BTC Hack is due to 2FA on: May 09, 2019, 04:01:38 AM
What Dave Jevans recommends moving forward is a 3FA approach. Has anyone used this or what are your thoughts?

You can install as many security mechanisms as possible if the users act carelessly in the end. Social engineering is a broad field, so you can't say exactly how the hackers got to the data, but it often happens via a personal mail asking to change the password and then redirected to a fake site. It is difficult to prevent such mistakes from individual users.

worst case possibility`s they kill you? or they kid nap you? right? the "hackers, or hijackers, or murders, or thieves" whatever you want to call them.

As I wrote, social engineering is a broad field with many varities. And all your listed kinds more or less belong to it  Wink
2790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to transfer bitcoin core (from bitcoin wallet) to electrum wallet ? on: May 09, 2019, 03:48:12 AM
What do you mean with "bitcoin core"? Do you mean your Bitcoins? If so, you can export your private keys from your Bitcoin core wallet and import them into Electrum wallet.
In order to help you, however, you must specify your request.

2792  Other / Meta / Re: Strange-looking thread title on: May 09, 2019, 01:47:18 AM
It's not really a bug. These are just a few special characters that do this (called glitch text).

Code:

There was a similar thread last year: Glitch?

See: https://lingojam.com/GlitchTextGenerator

Thanks!

In all the years I've been active here, I've seen this for the first time. That's why I thought it was something unusual, maybe a bug.
It should be stopped anyway. Just imagine such signs are becoming a trend.

PayPal Skips Bitcoin While ‘Clearly Working on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency’

Online financial services firm PayPal believes it is too early to pronounce Bitcoin as the future of payments. Nevertheless, the $128 billion financial services firm is pursuing blockchain and cryptocurrency projects, Yahoo Finance reports.

downloading it right now , people seems to be telling me diffrent things , is the reward system up and running ? im downloading it on windows and android so i wonder about those versions, thanks in advance

Reward system is only up and running in beta version [1] at the moment, not yet in stable version [2]. I have used beta for a month now and it is very stable, though.

2796  Other / Meta / Strange-looking thread title on: May 08, 2019, 11:11:46 AM
By looking for an old post from me, I came across a five year old thread that has a title that is very unusual.

Which is so extraordinary the title overlaps another post. I looked at it with a Chromium-based browser, as well as with Firefox, and both have this effect. Is that a bug in the forum software?

2797  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] LiveCoin Signature Campaign | Hero/Legendary Members | Up to 0.02BTC/Week on: May 08, 2019, 10:48:01 AM
Round 6 Payments have been sent out!

Keep up the good work everyone!

<...>

First of all, thanks again Hhampuz for the fast and uncomplicated payment! Keep up your good work Wink

Second, regarding the proposed change. I understand the idea behind your proposal to Livecoin, however I would like to prefer the suggestion of Real-Duke:

One more suggestion: Why not lowering the maximum counter to 25 or30 Posts/week and keep the payment like it is?

It is better to lower the weekly posts to 25 or 30 but keep the current rates. Even lowering to 40 would free some extra btc for new members.

2799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: May 07, 2019, 07:17:34 PM
What i like about IOTA is the fact that it was real world use by major companies. BOSCH is just one of many that have started to use IOTA, there are names like VW that are floating around. This is going to be a top 10 coins one day
I don't think Bosch already started to use it. Or for what? IOTA is still not ready yet I think.

Please inform yourself before you make assumptions that are easy to disprove. Bosch has even developed software (XDK2MAM) that serves as an interface between XDK & IOTA for secure data transmission for all kinds of sensors.

2800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: May 07, 2019, 06:35:47 PM
Can't believe odds to win for Liverpool are just about the same as Barca, not after Salah and Firminho are out.

I was thinking the same thing. With my betting provider the odds for Liverpool are even better (by .1) than for Barca. Basically the odds are adjusted according to how often someone bet on them. This would mean that both teams would have the same chance of winning and that the betters do not think that Liverpool will make it to the next round.
