1881  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Peter helping bitcoin pump? on: December 18, 2020, 06:36:21 PM
A large portion of individuals spend their bitcoin in betting and I feel that is the way bitcoin is enduring.

Compared to the total number of Bitcoin transactions, the number of Bitcoin used for betting is relatively small, although Bitcoin for betting was also one of Satoshi's original intentions. At the moment, the largest number of Bitcoins is probably used purely for speculation.
1882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Usefulness of Football Clubs Fan Token in the Soccer industry on: December 17, 2020, 02:59:01 PM
My questions are;
  • Is there any user here who had successfully used the Fan token with their clubs.
  • If yes, have you decided what your favorite club should do or not, or partaking in your club voting poll in each season maybe regarding market transfer period.

In my opinion, these make no sense as a paid token. The only point I can see is by giving out a fan token as an incentive, e.g. when buying a ticket or a fan article. If you have collected enough tokens you can later exchange the tokens for prizes, e.g. for events with his favorite player or even a personal meeting with a player. Or you get ticket upgrades etc.
1883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear on: December 17, 2020, 02:50:26 PM
I've been watching more series lately (thanks to Corona), but unfortunately none of them featured Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. Is my impression wrong or are there significantly fewer series than two or three years ago that take up the topic? Do you know new series that deal with Bitcoin or crypto currencies?

I mentioned it in a different topic, but 'Blindspot' (season 5, episode 2) had Bitcoin namedropped by Bill Nye.  Even said he was HODLing (or as least his character was).  It was referenced in earlier episodes too, but I don't recall which ones specifically.

//EDIT:  Might have been season 1 episode 6, but maybe double-check that.

Thanks, I do not know the series Blindspot. If you could find out exactly what season and episode it was in, I would add it to the list. It would also be great if there would be some YouTube snippet I could link to.

Klasse Idee!

1885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 15, 2020, 09:50:47 PM
Dortmund played really good against Bremen tonight but they had difficulty on winning the match again. They are losing a great deal of power without Haaland. I was expecting the Frankfurt win tonight but to be honest, the score surprised me. They had a huge 3-1 win. It should make them more focused on the next matches.

Dortmund was lucky again. They didn't really play very well. It was okay under the circumstances. On the one hand the short-term change of coach, on the other hand the pressure to have to win against a team that has actually no pressure because they are the clear underdog, otherwise Dortmund would have lost touch with the top.
1886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pornhub now accepting Monero on: December 15, 2020, 09:47:41 PM
Monero has always been the first choice for crypto payment, Pornhub and several other sites have also given room to Monero,
because we know Monero is one of the best anonymous projects in the crypto world, and it is very secure.

Well, it looks like that other coins have been accepted long before Monero. As the screenshot states there was Bitcoin of course, but also ETH, Bitcon Cash, Dash, even Verge and Waves were accepted before Monero. So it does not seem that Monero is the first choice when it comes to anonymous payments in this case.
1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pornhub now accepting Monero on: December 14, 2020, 09:19:53 PM
A year and a bit after Verge bought its way onto Pornhub and not sure how many months after Tron bought its way onto Pornhub it finally happened. Visa stopped offering its services to Pornhub, so they were forced to seriously looking into cryptocurrencies and finally add Monero as a payment option.  I will not be surprised if after a year Monero become most used payment option on Pornhub. Why would people want their neighbours know they use Pornhub?

I really thought they were just accepting 3 cryptocurrency but based on the image that you provided they have a lot of varieties of cryptocurrency to choose from. Looks like that they are expending their mode of payment.

Same. I did not know that they accept Waves and others. At least the particular projects didn't promote it. I don't know if you didn't know it or if you are "embarrassed" Cheesy Visa and Mastercard have terminated their collaboration with Pornhub. So it's no big surprise that Pornhub is now looking to provide for alternative payment options.
1888  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: December 14, 2020, 09:09:42 PM
This is a new world order now. Build back better is the way!

Build back what?

The COVID-19 virus may never be eradicated. When the vaccine comes on the market it will be preventable. The current epidemic does not have to look to the future. But everyone will be health conscious. And leaving paper notes will be more attracted to the use of bitcoin or online currency. It may take years for the government to maintain economic balance.

The virus will probably continue to be with us for years. It has now spread to many people and now it is important to establish extensive immunity for most of us. But people will get sick and die from it for years to come. It'll be like the flu.
1889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: December 14, 2020, 09:04:11 PM
It is hard to predict anything such longtime before, but let's have some fun.
My predictions for 8 quarterfinalists:
Bayern, PSG, Juventus, Borussia
Chelsea, Man City, Rb Lipsk and Real Cheesy

I hope we will see more surprises. Bayern vs Lazio is the clearest match for me. I go for Bayern, Liverpool, Barcelona, Juve, Sevilla, ManCity and Atalanta. I don't think that Dortmund and Real will make it to the next round.
1890  Economy / Economics / Re: IF USDT would collapse what do you think will happen to the BTC price? on: December 13, 2020, 12:35:23 PM
It is difficult to say whether Bitcoin would collapse. But it would certainly have a huge impact. A lot of traders use USDT as a currency pair with Bitcoin. A loss of confidence there will mean that a lot of money will flow out of crypto and therefore the price of Bitcoin will go down. Similar problems and rumors from Tether have already shown this in the past. Fortunately, there are now many alternatives to USDT which could counter a massive slump.
1891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 13, 2020, 12:31:46 PM
Totally disappointed to see Bayern Munich's match. Everyone thought Bayern would easily win the match. Because Bayern Munich is in great form, so I placed my bet in favor of Bayern's victory. But Bayern drew the match. Union Berlin could not make a better attack after scoring their first goal. They played defensively and resisted Bayern Munich's attack.

Of course, Bayern is in great shape. But you shouldn't forget the current game workload, which is extremely high. Bundesliga, Champions Leauge and national cup. And the winter break will be very short. Of course, the clubs concentrate on the competitions that bring in a lot of money, especially at this Corona time where there is enormous loss in income. This means that the Champions League plays first fiddle. That's why the games these teams play are not always great in the League. The only positive exception at the moment is Leipzig.

1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: December 12, 2020, 03:29:15 PM
I think part of the pump at 12AM could possibly be XRP traders/investors selling after the Flare snapshot moving their profits into XEM for the January 14th XEM Symbol airdrop snapshot?

Hoping for something like this in January Smiley.

Did you post this screenshot from 2017?

Even though if the price would be at $1,91 on January, it would be collapse as soon as the snapshot has been done. NEM as a project is history then, everything will go for Symbol (could be seen as NEM 2.0).

1895  Local / Announcements (Deutsch) / Re: ARDOR (NXT 2.0) - Skalierbare Blockchainplattform - Deutscher Thread & ELI5 on: December 12, 2020, 02:30:17 PM

1896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **family survives 40 countries living only on Bitcoins** on: December 12, 2020, 02:22:21 PM
I'm curious how was their life during the great bearish market but they're still up in profit after realizing that they've bought at a lower price in 2017. I envy this guy that he gets to travel to 40 countries together with his family and even used bitcoin as their main currency for survival.
This guy is a real legend and advocate of bitcoin. He applied it with his family and not just used it but he lived with it.

If you mean the bearish market in 2020, then it probably did not hurt them much because the bearish period was relatively short. And it also depends on when they bought their Bitcoins. If they did in 2016 and 2017 it is very likely that they bought relatively cheap to todays prices. Even if they bought at the peaks of 2017 they would have not made such a big loss if you take the average prices of the last three years. So, overall this would probably has not been a big issue for them.
1897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 12, 2020, 02:09:45 PM
I've added 'Dortmund and Bayern Munich' wins to my bet slip. The last two matches remained this. I think they will both win easily.

Almost save bets. I am thinking about to add Bayern, too, @1.35, but the risk/profit ratio is not that good. Good alternatives in my opinion are double chance Arminia Bielefeld (against Freiburg) @2.23 or a win of Mönchengladbach against Hertha Berlin @2.19. But not sure yet, if I should add another rather risky match to my betslip after the Augsburg-Schake match  Smiley
1898  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos Withdrawal Fees Rise (!?)|| November 2020 on: December 12, 2020, 02:01:24 PM
Although different gambling sites have different withdrawal fee's but can anyone tell me which gambling site take the most amount for the withdrawal from their site. I think the old gambling site will not charge us the most when it comes to withdrawals fee.

As far as I know, there is no website which offers an overview of fees of gambling sites. The best way to figure out is to search for particular casino reviews on sites like bitcoinplay.net (I am not associated with this site) and look for the fees. They are currently listing 72 sites from where you can get a good overview. The impression given in this thread is deceptive. In my experience, there aren't many honest casinos that charge fees for withdrawals.
1899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brave Browser: Now users can earn Basic Attention Token (BAT) for viewing ads on: December 12, 2020, 01:53:43 PM
With 20m current users and another 1m million content creators Brave will soon be as popular as chrome/mozilla.

Sure? Brave's wordwide market share is less than 1% while Firefox has around 17-20% and Chrome around 70-75% (in some countries up to 90%). It is still a long way to go for Brave to be in a row with Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 12, 2020, 12:25:44 PM
Today Schalke has the chance to finally win a game against Augsburg and to end the long series of defeats and draws. Augsburg have scored four times as many points as Schalke so far, but they haven't played very well in the last few games and they seem to be having problems. Schalke have to use that to break the negative series, otherwise I think they will break the negative record of Tasmania Berlin. Even though the bookmakers sees Augsburg as the clear favorite I go for a double chance Schalke @2.04.
