1961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's good about BCH? on: November 23, 2020, 06:54:20 PM
I understand what a stabe coin is for (even though there are many of them) but what is good about Bitcoin Cash?

Simply put, it's a matter of belief. You can also ask someone what is good about your religion and what is bad about another religion and you get a very one-sided answer. Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Cash have their advantages and disadvantages. In that case, the company seems to be banking on the benefits of BCH rather than BC.
1962  Other / Archival / Re: DeFi hyip is over? on: November 23, 2020, 06:32:44 PM
The defi hype is still much around, but the impact is not general. Some project have recovered from their dump while others are still struggling. That's how it will be, but a good project will recover no matter how long it takes.

Well, if you mean projects like Yearn.finance then you are right, but most other DeFi projects pretty much lost value from their peaks. The hype is definitely over. If there would be an hype the prices of those projects would currently explode, but mostly established projects like Bitcoin, Ether and others are rising.
1963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Argentina raises Gambling tax on: November 23, 2020, 06:28:34 PM
The government has to find a way to help the people of his country, for the vaccine, assistance to the people, ...

Well, that can't really be the reason. Argentina has been chronically broke for decades. So it always needs money and I think the country has milked everyone else and now it turns to gambling. But I dare to doubt that the industry in Argentina is big enough that it can collect a lot of taxes there. Most gambling takes place underground anyway.
1964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP miracle on: November 23, 2020, 05:34:24 PM
I am totally shocked, too. I am so shocked that I immediately need a psychological therapy to recover from it Cheesy
Honestly, it is a small pump. XRP is still far away from its highs and it will likely never get back to its ATH again. There are currently no obvious reasons for this pump, so one can assume that it is simply a speculative pump from a big investor.

1965  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [Diskussion] - [WAVES]. Ultimative Crypto-Token Blockchain Plattform. on: November 20, 2020, 06:55:32 PM

1966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: November 20, 2020, 01:25:47 PM
Here is how think the games will play out:

Newcastle United 1-1 Chelsea
Aston Villa 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Manchester City
Manchester United 2-0 West Bromwich Albion

Do you really bet on the exact results? This is pretty risky. I would agree with you about victories of Aston Villa and ManU, but I would rather go for a Chelsea win, but I did not bet on any of these three matches. I just set a double chance bet for Tottenham against ManCity. Seems to be the best bet according to risk/profit ratio on this match day.
1967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 20, 2020, 01:17:07 PM
Hi guys, as you know some casino/bookmakers offer "player protection" giving ability to set up a stop loss limits.
What happens if a player lose more of this limit and continue to gamble despite any "protection"?

First of all, if this functionality is offered and limit is reached, you can not continue gambling technically. To overcome the ban, you can create a new account for example. So this protection does only help if you are disciplined enough, otherwise it is totally useless.
In some European countries there is a law introduced recently, that after a certain amount of loss the player is not allowed to continue playing anymore. And since you need to do a KYC you can not open more than one account. So this is a real protection. But this holds only for regulated casinos in some countries.
1968  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reputable exchanges for a newbie to start with on: November 20, 2020, 01:09:31 PM
The most easy and secure exchange for newbies in my opinion is Binance. Besides the good interface and navigation, you have a lot of good features and high free limits without KYC (compared to other exchanges).
1969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Portfolio before and after the pandemic on: November 20, 2020, 12:46:40 PM
To be honest, I have not changed anything in my portfolio due to the pandemic, except I bought a little more crypto than before. It is foreseeable that even more fiat money will be printed in the future due to the pandemic aftermath. And the only way to avoid this destruction of wealth is to invest in safe assets. In addition to gold, real estate and other tangible assets, I also include some crypto currencies.
1970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: November 20, 2020, 12:40:34 PM
I wouldn't pay that much attention to these 'studies'. Fatigue is normal after things like a cold of the flu but I'm sure 'Covid fatigue' will become the new I'm too ill to work excuse so people can enjoy early retirement and a lifetime of benefits. I'm sure professional athletes being paid millions will be seldom effected  Grin. In the cases of people like Ronaldo and Salah they're asymptomatic and have only tested positive for the virus whilst having no problems or symptoms whatsoever. This will be the case for most people I think, or those tests they're giving people are issuing false positives which is what Ronaldo claimed I believe.

Fatigue alone might be not a big problem but breathing problems and neurological problems. You can compare Covid similar to the Spanish flu. Years after the Spanish flu, there was an accumulation of neurological problems of people which were infected years ago but survived. From Parkinson to multiple sclerosis. Some historians even talk about a "second pandemic" a decade later.

1972  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are you interested in little research jobs that are rewarded in Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2020, 12:13:20 PM
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
I temporarily lock this thread and reopen it with the offer as soon as I was able to prepare some of the tasks. Since my day job is currently very stressful due to Corona restraints, it can take a while.
1973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: November 18, 2020, 04:47:13 PM
I wonder whether Liverpool will be able to be champions 2 times in a row. There are really tough opponents. Especially Bayern Munich are playing wonderful. I hope we can see the final match to be between Bayern Munich and Liverpool. It would definitely be enjoyable to watch.

I don't think they can pull it off without Mohamed Salah, he has Covid and is quarantined in Egypt so he can't travel anywhere for matches. He'll probably be back this Thursday according to the news but Liverpool is lucky that it happened during the international break and not before critical UEFA matches.

The question will be whether Covid will affect the medium and long-term performance possibility. Since Ronaldo fell victim to Covid, he has not performed as well as before. There are many Covid patients who still complain of breathing problems and neurological problems even after months. Why should it be any different with professional players. For some professionals who were infected with Covid, it could even mean the end of their careers. In my opinion, this is given far too little attention in discussions.

You have a point, according to this August study, 55% of all recovered Covid patients have symptoms of fatigue and dizziness and it has must have hit it's fair share of professional players as normal people.

It could force a few older players into retirement and the transfer value of younger players will go down as they perform worse in future games. It's a net loss to all clubs, as clubs which don't win games much have their market value lowered.

Next question is how long these effects last, whether for a few months or several.

Exactly, of course, it could be that for professional players who are much fitter and more toned than average person, the percentage could be a little lower, but even if it were 30% it would mean that one in three infected professional players could have permanent limitations and at such high levels that would mean the end of the career. I think the true extent of Corona in professional sports will really show in the next 1-2 years.
1974  Other / Archival / Re: DeFi hyip is over? on: November 17, 2020, 07:31:57 PM
DeFi hype is over but that's for the main time because some DeFi projects have very good use case, assuming altcoin season begins later this year or very early in 2021 DeFi projects won't be left behind, they will bring good ROI for those who still holds them

It was so clear that it would be over so quickly. DeFi was just a rebranding of blockchain ecosystem that has been around since 2013. If you will, ETH is the biggest DeFi project. A few people made a lot of money with it, but crypto didn't really get any further overall through DeFi.

1976  Economy / Economics / Re: Dow Jones could crash by up to 4000 points if Biden locks USA!!! on: November 16, 2020, 08:14:01 PM
Well, if you look at it soberly, Biden can only impose a lockdown not before January. Until then, Trump is still president and he has announced that he will not do a lockdown. In two months the situation may have changed in such a way that a lockdown is no longer necessary. However, if it does come, you can expect another crash like in spring for sure.
1977  Economy / Economics / Re: Asia-Pacific nations sign world’s biggest trade pact on: November 16, 2020, 08:05:42 PM
Trade is good in whatever form it takes, ....

That is a very one-sided view. It depends on the content of the trade agreement. A bad example of how trade also harms is the EU's agreement with some African countries. This includes that the EU opens its markets for African products (which by the way are mostly not competitive) and African countries must allow EU imports of highly subsidized milk (milk powder) and chicken meat which are so cheap that it is ruining the domestic African farming industry.
1978  Economy / Service Discussion / Are you interested in little research jobs that are rewarded in Bitcoin? on: November 15, 2020, 08:38:09 PM
I am thinking about to create a thread to offer Bitcoin for doing small research jobs. But first I would like to know whether there is any interest at all?

The job would be to research domains from certain companies. For example, find domain that belong to Alphabet Inc. (Google). To verfiy if a domain belongs to a certain company you need to look up whois information (I will show you appropriate a search engine for that). Each domain found will be rewarded with $1 in Bitcoin.
1979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: November 15, 2020, 03:57:52 PM
Belgium vs England tonight, I think Belgium will be keen to seek revenge after England defeated them recently.
I think Mr De Bruyne is going to run the show tonight.

I hope so, too. After my double chance bet on Belgium in the first leg unfortunately didn't work out, I'll try it again this time Cheesy Because of the first leg defeat the double chance odds for Belgium has even increased slightly. Let's see if it works this time. Will follow the match live on television and I am excited.
1980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 15, 2020, 03:52:51 PM
For this I don't need any studies but actually only a clear mind. Why are there so many casinos (online and offline) that are able to spend a lot of money on sponsoring and advertising? Simply because it is extremely lucrative. And that can only mean that the majority of the players lose and only a small part wins. So it is clear that without luck and professionalism it is a losing business for gamblers, not for gambling sites. Whoever believes otherwise is a fool.
