2841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC fall again within a few days? on: January 19, 2018, 07:33:04 AM
BTC is now recovering, it is already at 11k $.
Do you guys think it will fall back to 9k or less within a few days?

I was going to buy some but i missed the 9k point, and now it just keeps rising.
11k seems still cheap tho, wondering if I should buy or not.

Buying coins cheap doesn't work like that. Buying coins cheap involves spreading out your buy orders instead of making them all at once, so that you're exposed to minimal amounts of risk and maximising your profits.

You can never time the markets right. Not even the best of the best traders can time the bottom or peak for selling or buying right, all we can tell currently is that we're in a zone for buying. But we don't know if it's going to crash further or not.

My suggestion is that if price is under $15k, continue to buy. If everything goes our way, $20k or more isn't a dream within the next 2 months. After all we came so damn close to it the first time.
2842  Economy / Speculation / Re: Screw that, I'm hodling on: January 19, 2018, 06:32:38 AM
I didn't fall for the bullshit and I'll never sell. Bitcoin > fiat. No amount of fiat is worth my precious bitcoins that no government can touch or inflate. The fiat price is irrelevant. People should know that by now.

Agreed. Fiat price is the long term is irrlevant and for any long term holders you should not be bothered by the short term price fluctuations at all. It'll only make you worry more than you really should, in my opinion.

But it's still important to analyze the bitcoin price movements, since there are a lot of people out there that see bitcoin as an investment and don't necessarily have the belief you and I have in bitcoin for the long term.

But this fall is easy to predict, price is going to go back up as soon as the FUD is over. And it seems like it's either now or very soon that bitcoin will start going up once again.
2843  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm officially sick of the bitcoin price right now... on: January 19, 2018, 06:23:53 AM
.. so I've been watching and reading about btc technical analysis almost daily now, and I'm kind of sick of being in this current triangle.  I've only been in btc since September so I really don't have that much history, but for those who have been in btc much longer - how much longer do you think it will take before btc goes back on the upward trend again?  It just seems like a really long sideways movement.

On Dec 17th, it reached its high of $20k, and it has taken almost a month and we're still below those numbers.  What is your estimate for when we can be above $20k again and onward to what people predict for this year ($50k-$100k)?  Another month?  March?

I know nobody knows for sure, but just looking to hear about what people's gut feel is (and only from those who have btc experience over a year please).

Thanks.

If you don't have the patience to trade bitcoin and see it rise then just don't. Nobody is forcing you to. Bitcoin is going to go up and down and you can't always expect it to continue to go up, otherwise it's a scam and the promises won't be redeemed.

$20k isn't a guarantee. Anyone saying that would be trying to mislead you.

But i think if you buy now, the chances of you making a sizeable profit should be quite high. Even if bitcoin goes to $13k, which i believe this price rebound will bring the BTC/USD index to at the worst, you're making 10%.

$50k-100k for now is still unrealistic. Maybe this year we'll see $30k though.
2844  Other / Meta / Re: MY ACCOUNT ULTRLOA HACK ALL PROOF INSIDE - ADMIN NEED YOUR HELP TO RECOVER on: January 18, 2018, 11:29:56 PM
Still no response from cyrus or anyone. I need to get back my account proofs of ownership has been posted here how long does account recovery will be done?

Have you PM'd Cyrus with the correct template? See this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0.

Another thing may be that the only proof is an ETH address and Cyrus may not be able to verify that easily. Try to dig up some old bitcoin addresses and try signing messages from them as the results will probably be much better than ETH addresses.

As it says on the post above, if you don't see a response from cyrus, then you may PM theymos as well. However since there are so many accounts to manage, they may still be extremely slow with responding and resolving the issue. Good luck.
2845  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: YOBIT scam?! BTC wallet empty on: January 18, 2018, 11:16:08 PM
Not sure how the hacker has done it without

1) 2FA being enabled on your account
2) Email verification on yobit's side
3) Login notification not being sent to your email

The only explanation i can think of is that all of your accounts have been compromised, your email, google authenticator, etc. Or it was one of your family members doing it that has physical access to your computer and mobile phone.

Just a heads up though, in these scenarios yobit can't do anything. Even if you contact support they won't be able to resolve the issue, the only trail the hacker has left is the yobicode. You may be able to ask the support to verify which account redeemed the yobicodes(even though it's probably a throaway).
2846  Other / Meta / Re: My original account locked on: January 18, 2018, 11:09:01 PM
The only problem i see here is that the template shazam has provided above does not say anything about ethereum addresses being a valid proof that you own the account. It seems to be only supporting bitcoin signed messages. But nonetheless, try to PM cyrus with the proof that you've written in the OP.

I'm not aware of any function on the forum that would let you lock your own account. Are you sure that you haven't landed on a phishing page or potentially you have been banned by a moderator?

It could be the latter, since your post quality is so bad. If you do get your account unbanned, make sure you improve your contributions or otherwise you may get banned for real this time.
2847  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 999dice.com scammed me out of 0.048 BTC. HELP ME FIND THE ADMIN PLEASE on: January 18, 2018, 09:34:13 PM
The admin is easy to find. Jakem, search him up and you'll find him. Support email you can find on their site as well. But will they respond if they've already decided to take away your funds just like that? Probably not.

Their provably fair system forces you to proactively use it every single time, which means that you have to click on the provably fair button every single time. This is not even mentioning that you have no idea where this guy is even located, let alone personal details.

Just why would you play on such a site with 0 or negative reputation, when there are clear alternatives available. Next time do your research before you bet anything. 0.1% house edge should have been a warning bell already.
2848  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sent MLN to Bittrex ETH address 62 days ago on: January 18, 2018, 09:27:04 PM
60 days past, so maybe time for return. Did anyone have that issue?

Did you send melon tokens to the bittrex deposit address for Ethereum? if yes then it's your fault and i doubt bittrex will care to dig out their private keys, and send back the melon manually to you. It's just very unlikely that they will do so with the sheer amount of complaints i've read about them.

Exchanges like bitfinex have clear warnings and procedures about sending the wrong token to the wrong address, i'm sure bittrex does too.

THeir support is extremely slow at the moment so 60 days without a response is only natural.

Also, please move this to exchanges in service discussions since i don't see any scams here.
2849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin get to drop to $5,000 and below in 2018 on: January 18, 2018, 09:15:29 PM
With the massive drop (bearish) in bitcoin in the past few days (January 2018)
Is it possible for the Bitcoin community to witness another bearish that can make bitcoin drop to $5,000 and below.

Kindly comment from the point of:
The power of the government and their regulation
vs
The oneness voice and power of the people (community) to withstand any unlawful regulations and manipulations

I don't think so. Government bans have little to do with p2p trading, and that is where the trend is shifting to. China banned exchanges, so what. Price wasn't that badly affected by it.

We've seen the price drop dramatically but the dumpers are not able to make price go through $10000. That means that there is a lot of support at that level, even though it seemed obvious that the price was going to drop below $10000 last time.

It's easy to forget that there is still room for bitcoin to continue climbing when it's going down on a daily basis. One year is a lot of time, and even if it does drop below $5000 per bitcoin, i think it'll recover back to $10k+ in no time.
2850  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a MASSIVE bubble right now.. POP soon! on: January 18, 2018, 10:01:22 AM
The downside bubble is soon going to collapse soon. Right now we have Wall Street, Asia (taxes), and the double dose of FUD by the media creating a massive Bubble to the downside that even broke 10k at once, and may break it again.

But this bubble is going to POP really really soon - guarantee it.

Why is it that some people only talk about bubbles to the upside? We are definitely in a downside bubble right now for Bitcoin. For alts, I agree there was a large upside bubble. But Bitcoin hasn't even moved much recently. Definitely a downside bubble for a 0.5% adopted currency, and store of value.

Or is it? It may be a bubble, but at the same time would you keep selling when the price has already dropped by around 40% from the ATH last year, or do you hold onto your coins until it recovers and a new bull run is established?

Nothing's for sure and i think that $10k is still the floor for bitcoin for the months upcoming, it's very improbable that price is going to drop below that.

In fact, I think when all this FUD is over we could first see bitcoin climb up to $15000, and retake that level as the floor, before setting a new all time high. I wouldn't go with the market sentiment atm.
2851  Economy / Reputation / Re: Account "koshgel" is probably compromised on: January 18, 2018, 09:54:15 AM
Even if he is not compromised i can't think of a reason why anyone would want to trade with him still. If you really want to then just go with escrow to protect yourself. But chances are that this is not the original koshgel, but rather someone that gained access to koshgel's account and wants to essentially buy the reputation of the account back by repaying the "defaulted" loan.

If you can't remember a loan for 1+ years, and all of a sudden you do, then you either have memory issues, or you're a liar.

Either way, he's not to be trusted even if a signed message is provided imo

I haven't seen a lot of complaints about them, but they're probably not the best place to store your cryptocoins either. I don't even think that on their site it lists a physical address which is extremely risky, and they take care of your private keys, aka they can do anything to your coins without your consent, whether it be doing fractional reserve and investing partial customer funds or other stuff.

Since you've already deposited to an address that they control, only thing you can do is wait.

Next time remember, if you want instant exchanges, use shapeshift. If you want to store a coin, use the official downloads, don't use a third party, especially if they don't let you handle your own wallet seed/keys.
2853  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: YoBit withdraw high fee on: January 18, 2018, 09:12:38 AM
I tried to withdraw some DOGE on YoBit but when I saw withdraw fee (100 DOGE/1.19$) I gave up.
I trying with LTC and withdraw fee is 0.002 LTC/0.52$, can anyone tell me why is too high fee for DOGE?

Nope. They really have no reason to charge you 100 DOGE for your withdrawal, when I've sent doge transactions recently on the doge blockchain with absolutely 0 fees that have confirmed within the hour that i've sent it.

The max anyone is going to pay for an onchain transaction on the dogecoin network is around 5 DOGE, but 1 DOGE is enough. Other exchanges do not charge more than 2 doge as far as i remember.

It's just a case of greed in my opinion. They're ripping people off, making them think that 100 DOGE is going to their transaction, but in fact only 5% or less is and they're stuffing their own pockets with the rest.
2854  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which exchanges are functional right now? on: January 18, 2018, 09:07:41 AM
I intend to cash out some bitcoin (not an immodest sum) within the next 10 days.  I'm struggling to find an exchange that is actually functional anymore! Even the ones i'm with are not answering when I try to change the address on my account (which i need to do before I cash out any coin ..for tax purposes).

What are the most competitive exchanges which are largely functional right now in terms of registering with them and getting verified with them?  Do they also have functional and timely support?

If you are just trying to cash out a small sum of bitcoins with convenience and peace of mind as your utmost priority, then i would invite you to look into localbitcoins as a potential suitor. They are not really an exchange but rather an trading/advertising platform, but they can be used and considered as an exchange as well.

I have never had any problems with transacting on localbitcoins. Even if you get scammed you can recover your funds using their escrow system.

Obviously if you're cashing out a big amount, you're not going to use localbitcoins as your first choice because of the high spreads. But if your amounts are under 1 BTC then there is no problems at all. You'll get close to the amount you'll get on big exchanges like bitstamp.
2855  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Can Be A Savior! on: January 13, 2018, 08:48:19 AM

In specific countries like Venezuela and Zimbabwe, Bitcoin is working as a savior for the many as their respective economies and political systems have been rocked by turmoil and uncertainties. This has become of the inspiring roles Bitcoin has been playing for some number of people and I think as time goes on this role can be magnified in other parts of the world as well.

Now, what is this telling us. One thing for sure: During economic and political distress Bitcoin can be the best tool for people to survive economically as well as to protect their remaining assets from being swallowed by the government-sponsored economic meltdown.

Bitcoin can indeed be a savior!

Yes, bitcoin can also be a savior as well as a threat.

In more western countries, there are many stupid people who send money to obvious scammers in Africa or wherever, and then the bank has to pay them back for their losses. Such things do not get replenishes with bitcoin. You do something stupid or get scammed, you fully take the responsibility.

Another thing with bitcoin is its anonymity. While its very good, it also has a dark side. I don't think I need to go into too much depth about this, its pretty self explanatory.
2856  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's threat on: January 13, 2018, 05:24:48 AM
Bitcoin's biggest threat is banning or restrictions in major countries such as the US and China. Other than that, bitcoin should be golden  Cheesy

Also, Bitcoin will face many troubles if China decides to heavily crack down on bitcoin mining. As we very well know, China is the major miner for bitcoins around the world, so if they get taken out of the equation, bitcoin can and most likely will seriously suffer.

However as for other altcoins, IMO they stand no chance. No other coin has the platform or the fan-base (so called fan base) to become a big thing. ETH is on the rise right now, however it has no cap, so as many can be mined as you want.
2857  Economy / Economics / Re: until when will the bounty program remain? on: January 13, 2018, 04:37:52 AM
Over the years there have been a lot of crypto-based-based projects where the business owners offer shares in the form of coins they produce with different kinds of promotions including bounty programs, until when will the gift program remain?

Its not a gift. Its work, a job. If you think its a gift, it makes me question how seriously you take it.

I think bounties are still here to stay, at least most certainly till this ICO craze starts to die down. It is primarily thanks to that.

Though what bounty hunters should look for is the legitimacy of a project and whether enough money has been allocated to certain campaigns within the bounty. Also who the campaign manager is and their trustworthiness. Bounties will also start to die down if companies cheap out and do not want to go with proper managers and decide to do it themselves. I feel like a little bit of trust is lost when that happens.
2858  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats your exit strategy? on: January 13, 2018, 03:43:40 AM
My initial plan to exit was at 2,000 right before the August fork. However, I soon realised that the fork would only bring the prices up, so I stayed in the game for longer. I sold a few of my Bitcoin's here and there, however I still have the major % still available.

I am current not in need of any extra money, so I am able to keep on hodling to my bitcoins for the time being.

I too would not want to regret selling just yet in case the price suddenly rises up, however I am also keeping the news circulating bitcoin close at hand, in case anything drastic was to happen that would force me to quickly sell my stash.
2859  Economy / Reputation / Re: Petition for TheButterZone on: January 13, 2018, 02:27:23 AM
The corruption in this forum is sad.

Edit: Actually after reading page 2, it is clear Lauda(aka The Pharmacist aka dillpicklechips) is getting a taste of their own medicine. How's it taste? Roll Eyes

Haha this is good. How thicc in the skull can you be?

The first way to tell that The Pharmacist is not an alt of Lauda is through the difference they have on the forum. Lauda is persistently so called childish about being called (and wanting to be called ) Kitty. This is all in good fun though Smiley

The Pharmacist does not have a nickname.

Also, one manages campaigns and the other doesn't.

ALSO, The Pharmacist publicly states that he is living in the USA, while Lauda is discrete.
2860  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will bitcoin go? on: January 12, 2018, 12:54:33 PM
What will be the lowest value of bitcoin before it will start to rise again?
Right now it is going straight low.
Check the poll. (top)

Choices:
• $12,500-$12,000
• $11,999,-$11,500
• $11,499-$11,000
• $10,999-$10,000
• Below $10,000

I don't think Bitcoin will go much lower than it already has, certainly not below 10K. If it were to hit 10K, everyone would want to buy because the 10 thousand margin is sort of a milestone and a threshold of bitcoin's price. If it was to go that low, it would quickly bounce back up in a matter of minutes.

However, anything could happen, and from here on we can either see the price settle, rise, or drastically fall. Its anyone's game.

Though for sure more and more companies are looking into accepting Bitcoin and using the blockchain on a corporate level, and thats only a win-win situation for bitcoin.
