321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s Soaring Heights and the Unpredictable Journey Ahead on: February 28, 2024, 11:55:13 PM
I don't know why everyone rushes into altcoins when bitcoin hasn't even come close to slowing down.  Don't bail out of bitcoin too early you might pick the wrong alt and miss this whole bull market holding crud.  No issue having a little altcoins during this time but not holding bitcoin isn't the way.

Crashed and burned yesterday.  Took another 4 games tonight:

Dallas on the road +4.5. I hate betting against clevland at home but think kyrie matches up well and should have a dominant night.  30+ points.

Celtics -11.5 against the sixers.  At home and without embid they look lost.  If the Knicks beat them up with their b squad the Celtics should wipe the sixers tonight.

And I can't believe it but I bet Warriors on the road.  I hate betting them on the road but playing against the Wizards I think they will smell blood and take this one down knowing it's a must win from here on out against the lower teams.  Warriors -10.5

Enjoy the games and good luck!

Nail all 3 last night needed a big night.  The ending to the cavs game was crazy.  So glad I didn't take the money line that would have hurt bad to lose on a 60 foot shot to win by 1 lol.  Think after that they go and route Toronto tonight.  I usually never bet on a team on a back to back but tonight is different.  Taking Dallas on the money line and calling it a night

The Knicks playing the second game of a home back to back and they are down a ton of guys.  Harvesting is now out tonight so they are down to their 3rd string center.  Knicks strong suit is their inside rebounding and they are underdogs by 6.5 to new Orleans.  Going to be a tough game but this is where you make stands at this point in the season.  Shame Knicks got riddled with injuries they were playing so well.  Well let's see what they have in them.

325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $20,000 to invest in any Altcoins of your choice? on: February 26, 2024, 10:53:47 PM
Polygon/matic is my next play.  It's a hair over $1 as we speak so 20k will net you over 19,000 coins.  That project has moved along nicely even in the face of the last bear market.  They have recovered a lot better than some of the other large cap altcoins and think this is only the beginning of their move.  I can realistically see $5-7 during the next bull run.  Anything more than that is the cherry on top.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cash (Paper Money) vs Monero on: February 26, 2024, 10:50:31 PM
Cold hard cash is always the way no matter how good the protocol.  I haven't kept up on monero as much lately so not sure how iron clad those anon transactions are you can never beat cash.  Once offloaded there is no physical way to tie it back to you and if so the actual transaction itself.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 26, 2024, 10:48:17 PM
Taking the Knicks tonight and the line at 223.5 and I'm also going to take the under at 223.5.  I can see the Knicks keeping Detroit at around 100 tonight despite the return of some of their guys, grimes, Fourier etc from this month's trade.

Also taking the Pacers-5.5. I think the rapters have some growing to do with their new team and Pacers take this o e in double digit win.

328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: February 26, 2024, 10:44:20 PM
It's simple and you already said the reason.  If people consistently lose somewhere they are going to eventually hate that place.  And on the flipside if you had some nice hits at another place and there were no issues with payouts then people tend to like those locations.  So depending on the person and theor gambling winning and losing history at a particular place you will get different reviews.  I would listen to any of them and judge by yourself.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 26, 2024, 10:41:47 PM
The Golden State Warriors seem to still have to find their offensive guy. Steph Curry is changing his way of playing by becoming the screener for his teammates but the problem is the one who should be rewarded for those plays cannot shoot the ball at a high percentage.
I actually like the new approach. The veterans helping the rookies develop and have confidence in themselves can only improve the club in the long-term. They will be more of a threat during the play-in or the playoffs if they can find the right mix before the regular season ends.

Agreed.  He knows he needs one or 2 guys to be rock solid come playoff time.  So if he gets double or tripled they won't be hesitant to put it up there.  I know they aren't in theor prime but still having to play them as a 7 or 8 seed is a nightmare.  Playing playoff basketball in Oakland is not easy at all.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if an altcoin is a scam on: February 25, 2024, 11:32:35 PM
These are all great tips but in the end a well disguised scam will get through all of these checks.  Always good to look deeper into some of these that you pointed out it can at least detect the lazier scams.  I'm more worried about the long game scams that are disguised as good functioning projects.  Those types usually bail with tons of money vs the lazy ones that don't even pass the initial sniff test.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: February 25, 2024, 11:30:18 PM
While watching the JRE podcast heard an experienced gambler who had bet over a million on the Super Bowl and won his bet on the Chiefs.
This wasn't the first time he bet big on it and won.
He had bet on the Saints and Colts which had to have been the biggest bet placed on it being $4.5 million.
The strategy he used seems to be just taking every aspect of the game into account. Right from the type of surface being played on to how the players are getting along with eachother for the week of the game.

A lot of smart money was on the Chiefs.  They won it last year with mahomes on one leg.  I wasn't a Purdy fan before these playoffs but it looks like they have a decent qb going forward.  Played well in tight situations.  But in the end mahomes wasn't going to be stopped by the niners.  And that's with pacheco having a subpar game.  They would have cleared double digits if dude played better.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 25, 2024, 11:27:54 PM
I watched a game for the first time since the All-Star fiasco and Milwaukee beat Philly very comfortably. While the Sixers were focused on Giannis, other Bucks players hit wide open threes from outside and led by 21 at half time. The fact that they made 7 extra threes made the difference. Giannis didn't have to do much as the Bucks maintained the scoring margin throughout the game. Until Embiid comes back, the Sixers have a very difficult job. He'll be back before the playoffs start, which is good news, but the Sixers need to do better while he's out.

Without embid sixers are a bottom team.  Embid has one of the highest usages in the NBA.  It doesn't look like Philly knows what to do without him out there.  Maxey is a nice piece but not someone who could carry a team at this point in his career.  With embid on the court this team is an issue though.  Nobody can effectively and consistently stop embid for long stretches.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency. on: February 24, 2024, 11:06:21 PM
Little by little crypto is going to become a form of payment.  But more so as an easy way to move money quickly and cheaply internationally.  Now that in the US the bitcoin etfs got approved, mainstream folks can now get involved.  Once the mass public has skin in the game, companies will be energized to make crypto a lot easier to use than it is now for some people who are technically challenged.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What causes altcoin season? on: February 24, 2024, 10:58:55 PM
It is a general believe in the cryptocurrency community that Bitcoin bull season is usually followed by altcoins season. I don't know the logic behind it hence the reason for this post. The present bull run seems to be dominated by Bitcoin and its already taking too long without corresponding rise in price among the notable altcoins.

So, should we also expect altcoin season following the current bull run? If yes, what are the best altcoins to focus on?

Alt season follows a bitcoin run.  People take their profits from a bitcoin bull and throw it into alts which gets them going.  Alts don't take much to rise (or fall) because of the relatively low volume compared to bitcoin.  In terms of what to follow, no one knows.  Every new market a new set of coins takes off ypu just need to watch early on to see what runs.  Just make sure ypu have a bail out plan don't ride the wave all the way down which happens more than not with alts.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 24, 2024, 10:54:57 PM
Wembanyama is a wonderful player there is no doubt about that and Spurs are sort of learning how they could just utilize him more and more and make him play like a star. However, look at the results that they have right now, we can easily say that we are not going to get them to be a great team just yet. They have time, he is still a very young player, and he has at least 15 more seasons in the NBA if he doesn't get seriously hurt, so it should be possible for him to be able to get a good team during that period, and even a championship.

I highly doubt Pop will be around though, dude is 75 years old already, maaaybe 5-6 more years, but not like dude will be still coaching when he reaches 90, so Wemby will be  coached by someone else eventually.

Agreed.  They shoukd go after a young coach now to grow with the team.  Pop should hang up the creates.  Wemby is far more polished than I imagined him to be at this point.  In 3-4 years he is going to be a situation.  They need to get a banger down low like a jalen Duran type to play opposite wemby.  They need to nail the draft around 2 more times and they shoukd be set up for a decade plus so long as they can resign their guys.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 24, 2024, 10:51:43 PM
Starting a fresh journey after the all star break (no more break this time) Cheesy

I got these teams winning later.

1- Suns -4. A back to back game but it's a must win in Houston. Bradly Beal Still out, but let Book and Durant take care of the business.  - loss
2-Clippers -9 - they are not the Bucks, sure they can beat this undermanned team. - loss
3-Wolves -4.5 - Bucks might continue to struggle and Wolves might still owned them.  -loss
4-Lakers -10 - Both teams are playing back to back, but Lakers are back at home, though Lebron is still "Q", I think the home team can handle the Spurs. loss

Updated record 15-19 (44%) Another losing streak.  Sad

Still making some picks and let see how this goes.

1- Detroit is on a losing streak again so definitely I'm gonna pick them with the spread of +8. I like a desperate home team to win as well.
2- Boston is just too strong now dominating their opponents, so I'll take the -6.5
3- Wolves on a back to back home game, and might be bouncing back after losing to the Bucks. Against a visiting less defensive Brooklyn Nets, it's Timberwolves -8.5 all day.

I'm not gonna bet the knicks/Boston game I think it's gonna be a good one.  Knicks are down julius, OG and Mitch from the starting lineup so not a bad bet.

I'm going the other way in the Detroit game, they are pretty bad right now.  Gimme orlando -7.5 I have them.

And Wolves I'm on that one too.  Nets stink and expect them to lose by more than double digits here.  Just hope cam thomas doesn't have one of them freak 40 points games.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find and hold in Atlcoin effectively? on: February 23, 2024, 11:03:50 PM
It's an imperfect science with altcoins because of the volatility.  Finding the tops or lows of an altcoin is extremely difficult so if you are going to try to time anything pick a predetermined point at which you want to exit and stick with it.  Once something has gone up its tough to let go because of the fomo, but disciplined traders over time do much better than emotional ones.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Participation in Miner pools on early stages in beneficial or not?? on: February 23, 2024, 11:01:36 PM
It's like anything else lower return but less risky on getting scammed works for some peoples risk appetite and then there are new pools or mining new coins which could lead to a bigger windfall but then there is a chance you can lose it all.  It just depends on your risk appetite at the time.  It's not good or bad without understanding that first.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: February 23, 2024, 10:59:27 PM
I don't care either way as long as they aren't hurting anyone I can't see why anyone would want to ban gambling ads, it's a legal thing to do.  It's like banning beer commercials.  They are all over the place, same thing.  If you are worried about kids seeing something they shouldn't take the medium away from them or even better teach them yourself about what is being advertised.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 23, 2024, 10:56:59 PM
Easy money last night think it's gonna be easy money tonight.  Coming out of the break with a loss and a second game of a back to back against a young team.  Spurs should give them enough trouble to keep it to single digits or even come away with a win.  The books seem to always over estimate teams like Lakers, cowboys, yankees.  Easy betting targets.
