ah yes, apologies for the error 🤦🏻

EDIT

So we are all set for the semi finals at Marseille for tomorrow. The matches today went
as most people expected because the favourites won. Its looking more and more like a Hurkacz
v Dimitrov final.

I thought Zhang would have troubled Khachanov today bt the Russian won easy enough,
4-6 & 1-6.

Hurkacz v Humbert - odds are 1.56 v 2.45 - Humbert has been really good this week, I
might do a small bet on him to beat Hurkacz, I imagine it will be a close one.

Khachanov v Dimitrov - odds are 2.60 v 1.50 - eventhough the odds are essentially the same,
I dont expect Khachanov to beat Dimitrov, it will be hard to break Dimitrov's service game.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 08, 2024, 10:23:46 PM
Quarter finals are set for the Open 13, Marseille and there are no straight forward betting
opportunities IMO.

Humbert v Davidovich Fokina - seeds 4 and 5 play off, I have an itch to back Humbert
again but IDK, he is favourite @ 1.59 and is playing at home...

Hurkacz v Machac - is there an upset coming here? can the french player beat the no.1 seed?
The odds are 1.49 v 2.90, I'm not going to do it but i give Machac a closer chance.

Zhang v Khachanov - I'm surprised to see Zhang big outsider here @ 3.20. He played
great today to beat Felix AA.

Rinderknech v Dimitrov - Dimitrov the second seed is going great in this tournament,
he might even win it outright.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: February 08, 2024, 09:06:01 AM
Yea I know Scotland have nice odds @ 2.7 but I cannot really see them beating France, they got
out of jail last weekend by leading at half time by 20 points and only winning by 1 point, they
wont get away with that very poor defence against France. Small bet on France @ 1.53 is OK for me.

England v Wales - this now is a tricky one in my reckoning, the odds suggest an overwhelming win for
England but if Wales can put in a good performance like they did for 30 minutes last week, it will be
closer than 1.18 v 5.20, I cant see them winning at Twickenham though....

Ireland v Italy - Italy winning away to Ireland would be a very shock result even though Italy in their
first match ran England close, Irelands defense will be too good.

So I'm only going with a bet on France - a token Rugby bet for the weekend.

344  Economy / Collectibles / Re: What are your top 3 events in bitcoin history? on: February 08, 2024, 07:54:29 AM
There are so many events to choose from which are important but for me and as
others have posted here are my 3 in order of date

January 3rd 2009 - Genesis Block

May 22nd 2010 - Pizza Day - This was the first commercial transaction using Bitcoin when Laszlo
Hanyecz paid 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas.

September 7th 2021 - El Salvador Bitcoin Day - 'First Country' to recognise Bitcoin as
legal tender just the same as their US Dollar.
345  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When is the best time to trade a Bitcoin on: February 07, 2024, 09:41:58 PM
Having Bitcoin at this time is a very big achievement for anyone who has it now, but as everyone one may know no condition is permanent in the market you may have the up and downs loss and profit depending on how you strategically plan your personal business.
Now I observed that Bitcoin is like a gamble of football game whereby you go to the bet shop book your bet and wait for what will come sometimes you win sometimes fear can make you cash out after your cash out you may be lucky and sometimes you might lose something you would have gotten if you had waited.

Same to Bitcoin patience matters alot you may sometimes sell your Bitcoin because of fear of depreciation in value exchange while some still hold on to it
I just discovered that Bitcoin most times depreciates in day time but when it gets to late hours at night it increases its exchange value I don't know if anyone has this observation as well

So for me in this situation you can buy your Bitcoin at day time and trade it at night when it adds
But it is very important to watch at it carefully.

In general your post is based on an extremely short term view. At this current time
the general consensus is that this is a time for buying before the halving and if you
can HODL for a year then you can take your profit if you want.

So your post is really about trading and thats a different matter. Trading is a gamble
for newbies, seasoned traders know what they are at. Anyone can start trading
immediately, whether you are successful is a coin toss.

That all depends on where in the world you are, Bitcoin is global!

That was a short collaboration. Rune and Boris Becker wanted to work together for a longer period of time. But now after 4 months, they have ended their collaboration and Boris Becker is no longer his coach. Very surprising. But it seems to be the case that Boris cannot look after Rune as it is necessary. So there was another coach, Severin Lüthi. But he has also end the work with him. Hopefully Rune will quickly find a coaching team that suits him better.

I don't know why the new coach was not suitable for him to be honest. but I think his recent performance has played a part in it. there might be something personal as well I don't know. what I know is that he was clearly in a lot of pain in the last match of the semi finals.  he was actually playing well even with the forearm injury.  I believe he could have gone to the finals of the tournament if he did not have any injury and he was 100% okay

Anyway let's talk about the coach, I think he will be able to find a new one quickly.  That should not be a big problem for a player like him. Undoubtedly, numerous personnel will express interest in the position.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, there could be a personal element to this
especially the timing after that last match where Rune didnt bother to finish it
even though he was losing. Becker probably had words with him and Rune probably
threw a strop and ended the partnership, I could see him doing that.

Just watching an all French R16 match between Gaston and Humbert. I have a bet on
Humbert the favourite to win. Should make for an interesting match.

Earlier Machac was able to continue his good form to beat Musetti who was seeded 6.
347  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World Cancer Day on: February 07, 2024, 10:50:35 AM
I have heard some people say that Cancer is a lottery. The base this on stories about people
who live a healthy and active lifestyle and they get Cancer and others who smoke cigarettes
on a daily vasis and they dont get Cancer.

I'm with the OP and agree that eating healthy, reducing processed foods and having an
active lifestyle gives us at least a fighting chance at 1. reducing the chance of getting Cancer
and 2. if we do being fit and well to be able to fight it.

Also minimising Stress is very important in reducing the chances and also as the OP
posted Early Detection is key!
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 07, 2024, 08:24:03 AM
According to one of your earlier posts you already invested in bitcoin in the past but then ahd to sell it so I am not sure why you are talking like you never bought bitcoin before and know nothing about it. An obvious answer is merit fishing but I am curious to hear your answer.  Wink
Nothing new, the trick is create a new thread in Bitcoin Discussion, Economic or Beginners & Help section. Talk about an experience as a newbie about Bitcoin, view Bitcoin as a God, praising Bitcoin over other assets and don't forget to upload big picture to make the thread looks long.

and the OP has been on the forum since April 2023.

I also want to know how it works.

If the OP has been here since April 2023 and still doesnt at least know the basics of
how Bitcoin works and investing in Bitcoin, its a lost cause. How does the OP not
realise that his threads from previous are conflicting?

Offhand it sounds like something similar to that Gold tournament that was supposed to
rival the normal competition organisation I know very little about Golf.....

I'm still hoping Naomi can get back to winning ways and soon!

Wins for Korda and Lehecka as predicted but all in 3 sets.

I was watching the Gaston v Shapo match earlier and when Shapo broke Gaston in the
third set I switched off but Gaston won by breaking back and winning that set 6-3, that would
have been a perfect time to put a bet on Gaston, I recon he had great odds then....hindsight is great.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 06, 2024, 06:47:42 PM
Yea, last year Murray was good for the early rounds against a lot of players outside
the top 20 but Machac has been around for a few years and is only 23, he is ranked 66
and Murray ranked 49.

Looking back to this years AO Andy got beaten in the first round, I cant say its going
to happen tomorrow too and he is a good price but I playing it safe and not
betting on him, maybe a bet for him to win a set or something like that?

Hi did you place bet on Murray??

Andy Murray lost the match pretty convincingly, to be honest. I definitely did not expect him to lose this match but somehow that happened. I am not trying to take anything away from the player who was able to beat him, Etcheverry. He definitely played well in this match. I was actually surprised to see Murray not even win a single set. I thought he would at least get one set. But it is what it is.

Sorry for your loss... Cry

No loss, I didnt bet on him or on him winning even a set. As I've been saying his is way
too unpredictable. The odds on him winning were appetising and I'm sure some
people made a bet with those odds of 2.75. IMO that result kind of sets a theme for
this year for Murray for any top 50/60 player he meets. He might get lucky and meet a lower
ranked player in a first round.

Just watching Gaston v Shapovalov ATM and some interesting matches coming up

Korda v Grenier
Lehecka v Goffin

Both Korda and Lehecka should won those matches.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me understand this apparent contradiction between bitcoin and inflation on: February 06, 2024, 03:20:18 PM
also something to consider is the "Timeline" of the Bitcoin market. If we zoom in on any
day or week the chances are there will be a short term trend downwards but if we
zoom out its plain to see that the Bitcoin market is on an upward trajectory.

Why? because of what franky1 posted, Bitcoins 4 year cycle and the built in halving
of the supply every 4 years. This alone is a contributing factor to Bitcoins deflation and
is the opposite to what governments do to try and control inflation - print more and more FIAT.

We are getting down to business now with court case which will have implications going
forward.

Disproving Faketoshi's claims of being Satoshi should hold up strongly in this case
purely with the amount of forged documents against him and TBH it doesnt bode well
for him IMO if already their opening route is the Sympathy one.

Its really all stacked against him, we all know that, its getting the court to see it is the key.

I cannot what his next tournament will be, the tournament in Marseille has already started
and top seeds Hurkacz and Dimitrov have taken their place in the schedule in the round of 16.

Shevchenko and Felix AA have stayed in France for this one too.

Andy Murray is also in action here and plays Machac tomorrow. Machac is favourite
@1.45 and Murray @2.75. Its a good price on Murray but is anyone going to take the chance?

The next round of the Six Nations continues on Saturday with the following matches:

Scotland v France - odds are 2.8 - 1.5 - I cant see Scotland beating France especially after
their second half performance against Wales at the weekend.

England v Wales - odds are 1.17 - 5.6 - a difficult one now for Wales to continue on from that
electric second half performance against Scotland and carry it into Twickenham but England
were pushed by Italy. I dont know if Wales are worth a punt on this game?

And on Sunday next
Ireland v Italy - the odds say a lot here - 1.002 - 18.0

358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your expectations ahead of pre and post BTC halving? on: February 04, 2024, 06:57:49 PM
Well my take is this:

Pre-halving - we rise
I remember some people on the forum asking just before the event "is it priced in?" meaning
the halving utself to try and figure out if the market price at that time was saturated and not
going to rise further. I expect the same to happen pre-halving, it will be priced in!

Post-halving immediately - we fall
Because the halving was priced in a "sell the news" event occured and there was profit taking
resulting in a price fall

Post-halving medium to long term12 months - we we rise

Everyone knows we will climb after the halving to a new ATH as part of the 4 year cycle.

Well thats what has happened with the last halving!
359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Herbalists Live Longer than Christains on: February 04, 2024, 06:31:42 PM
Most of the things you said may be agreed by some people and disagreed by others. But apart from the reasons you gave that tend to support that Christians die earlier than traditionalist but I don't really accept that myself because I know of some traditionalist who have died younger too. To the morals of healthy living, Christians have changed, they have been reoriented on staying healthy. They go for check-up and are told what they need to keep staying healthy.

Agree, the OP is just a massive generalisation, how has the OP decided to create a thread about
this?

There are many reasons why someone can live longer than the other. This topic isn't just all about whether you're a Christian, an Herbalists or some other member of other religions. It's about how we live on a society and how we take care of ourselves. Honestly, the foods that we have right now have more additives and preservatives and it's totally different from the past years where many are living on a natural food eating habit.

That affects the lifespan of most people and if you're into foods like processed meats and you're living a fast life and when I say fast life, it's like that you have no time to cook food and exercise then your choice is fast foods and you'll just go out and work and go home to eat and sleep. There's no life balance with that and that affects someone's longevity so whether the debate is about herbalists, Christians or anyone who's just normally living. Things that we do and in take affects our health and lifespan. And as we grow older, this is the time we realize the quote "Health is wealth".

and the many things which determine whether we live long or not is "science" based like genetics
and hereditary issues.

I wonder why the OP hasnt grasped that a christian can actually be a "herbalist"

One of the things killing Christians is that they believe they don't need to do somethings, it will be done by God for them. The truth is that it is not everything we need to wait for God to come help us. We are human which we have power to take care of ourselves. Most Christians believe they are not supposed to take some kinds of food and drugs, God will send strength and good health from above for them to live long life.

Only someone who has zero IQ will have such ideology because we need food and water to survive which we only need to find and it won't be sent from the above by so called water. Having religious beliefs is okay which can help and Individual to have make peace with something that they don't have any control over but these kind of extreme beliefs is just stupidity.

you are right, the OP is an idealistic point of view. We all need food, and generally in my "christian"
country people are aware of what is good and what is not so good. Everyone is free to make their
own choices.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 04, 2024, 06:23:22 PM
According to some insider info from the tennis world, Ostapenko is not a very nice person on and off the court. She used to complain about linesmen calls all the time, now after the computer system took over at most tournaments, she still continues to complain about out calls and that looks absolutely ridiculous! I mean, no player challenges hawkeye decisions except her. What is wrong with her anyway?

Ostapenko was able to win the final. She did not face too many problems, to be honest. I expected the match to be very competitive. But it did not seem to be any problem for her. About her being a good person or not, I don't know about that. And I am not going to comment on that too much as well. But what I will say is maybe we should not judge so quickly.

Anyway, watching Bublik v Coric atm. Coric is losing the second set after winning first set 7:5. He is now 1:4 down. Bublik has a nice chance to take the match into the 3rd set.

The third set is being played right now. And both of them have got one set so far. Looks like it is going to be pretty competitive and whoever wins this match, it will be a very hard-fought victory for him.

well as serveria.com has said she doesnt have a great reputation, I have heard that before actually.
In the end today she got the job done in what seems like easy fashion, 6-2, 6-3. That is only her
second title, surprising really, I thought she had way more success. Anyway well done to her, I didnt
make a bet on that match.

Over with Bublik v Coric - Bublik got the job done and again in 3 sets, after losing the 1st set I put
a bet on him @ 1.85 just based on the fact that every match he played this week was a 3 setter!!
he did it the hard way - thats also a sign to me of a change in mental strength and attitude on his
behalf compared to early last year and before. I think I am a fan now of Bublik!!!
