1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Benefits of Bitcoins recent price drop on: April 24, 2023, 06:34:27 AM
Firstly drop in the price of Bitcoin helps strengthen the Bitcoin ecosystem by making impatient holders sell their Bitcoin hodlings to others who understands Bitcoin better

I agree on this. This is always whatI’m thinking whenever the price of Bitcoin drop significantly. It’s a normal correction since we reach 30K from below 15K last year. I think having a 100% growth within a year is already a good achievement for us to less worried on simple price drop like this.

...and when the markets start rising again past the point at which they sold their Bitcoin
it teaches them that they either should have bought back at a lower price or never sold
in the first place!

Firstly drop in the price of Bitcoin helps strengthen the Bitcoin ecosystem by making impatient holders sell their Bitcoin hodlings to others who understands Bitcoin better

It will help those that have long wanted to join the Bitcoin ecosystem quite encouraged to purchase Bitcoin

It will help capable hodlers  reduce Bitcoin spending to in turn help increase demand and value

First, I have to point out that this isn't a "drop", "fall", "decline" etc. This is merely a correction, a tiny one. Anyone, who has been in Bitcoin long enough will tell you that. There's no "bearish sentiment", in fact, we're climbing back up already. So keep calm and have some patience - you will be rewarded for that!

...and this "correction" was due like the rise which will follow this fall.

Its funny how the Bitcoin price always have to "correct" to a lower price and never
in the opposite direction!
1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Bitcoin: Unlocking the Potential of Decentralized Finance on: April 23, 2023, 09:54:04 PM
My take on Defi is that it there will be a third party, someone or institution who creates
whatever service is designed. This obviously goes against everything Bitcoin was invested for.

The potential for corruption and scams is there once a third party is involved, also being a
third party allows them to act the same as any FIAT based institution.

Look what happened to Celsius for example.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 23, 2023, 04:19:36 PM
A brief overview of today's finals:

Lajovic v Rublev
6:3, 4:6, 6:4

Rune v v.d.Zandschulp
6:4, 1:6, 7:6

Alcaraz v Tsitsipas
6:3, 6:4

Alcaraz v Tsitsipas was the shortest and least interesting final. Carlitos was simply too good, Tsitsipas didn't stand a chance. I think he won several games just with dropshot winners!  Grin

Lajovic v Rublev is a bit unexpected, but Lajovic beating Nole was quite unexpected too and I guess Lajovic deserved it.

Lajovic beating Rublev was the biggest news of finals day! Its actually nice to see a
player back up their win from top seeded players and go as far as he did. All too
often we see a lower ranked player beating a top seed and in the following match
to get beaten, maybe thats the mentality side of Tennis, the belief!

Rune to beat van de Zandschulp was to be expected as was Alcaraz to beat Tsitsipas.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 23, 2023, 01:47:46 PM

I hope that Alcaraz stays healthy now for a very long time. I wish we can have another superstar on the rise. That is what makes sports so interesting to watch. In Formula 1 it once was Michael Schumacher who made the sport interesting to me because I always wanted to know whether now there is somebody who can stop him. Injuries destroy the competition when it happens to younger players with amazing talent. I am not so much talking about the older generation because that is normal, although I would love to see a Djokovic in perfect shape against an Alcaraz in perfect shape at all four GS tournaments within one year. Those two players against each other at their peak, but I doubt that we will really get the possibility to observe such a head to head anymore.

Every sport has his stars and maybe every decade there is absolute superstar that really dominates the field and that people will still talk about even if it is years ago. Tennis has had the luck that they 3 absolute superstars at the same time who stayed in good condition throughout the years. Alcaraz is one of the young stars in tennis right now, but only the future will tell if he can become a legend.

and Alcaraz v Tsitsipas should be a very interesting matchup, cant believe Tsitsipas has
made it to the final.

and Rublev v Lajovic is looking like a 3 setter, would love to see Rublev winning again
but I imagine the odds on Lajovic had great odds.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: April 23, 2023, 09:28:28 AM
Cowboys v Knights - that looks to have been an epic battle of sorts with the Cowboys coming
out on top 18-16 and scoring the last points of the game in the 66th minute - with the remaining
14 attack/defend by both!

Union URC

Re: Vodacom Bulls v Leinster - The bookies had their odds correct, the Bulls were indeed worth
their favourite status winning by a whopping 62 - 7.

Cant understand who that Leinster team can beat the Lions last week and not show up yesterday.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: April 22, 2023, 08:04:36 AM
I have a $ on the Knights @ 2.37, Can the Cowboys pick up their season or are they in
real trouble... we will see shortly!

Currently it is looking like the Sharks are likely winners, its only 22" gone and its 8-16.

Union - URC

Just looking at the odds for todays games in the final round of the URC and Leinster
are a massive 5.0 away to 7th placed Vodacom Bulls in South Africa.
They have been
there last week and beat the Lions by 3 points. Its a kind of second tier Leinster team
which is there, meaning there are no experienced current internationals in the squad,
Its a great opportunity for a $ bet on the team which is unbeaten in both the URC and
Heineken Cup this season...

I've also gone another $ on a +11.5 handicap on them @2.11

Meh, missed it (sleeping is bad for auction success). If anyone wants a quick flip on one of the sheet-packs (ot 3 - 9) shoot me a quick dm.
Cograts to the winners and tweety for catching the original. Smiley

Dammit - looked in on this at about 7pm forum time and meant to come back in
closer to finish time....sleep again being the enemy of auctions. Anyway I would
also second K's offer, send me a DM too.

Congrats to the winners!

Thats an amazing win by the Rabbitohs over the Panthers, In all Rugby codes place kicking
is unbelievably important, I've said it before that I have seen it before where games have
been won solely by the penalty points kicked by the Fly-Half No.10 Rugby Union

And an even bigger win IMO by the Broncos over the Eels and as the away team. The Broncos
have proven to be a serious outfit. Great win over the Eels 16-26

Two good picks Timelord!
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 21, 2023, 06:22:39 AM
Back over in Barcelona its Quarter final time and the first match is a replay of the Monte Carlo
Quarter Final between Musetti and Sinner, Sinner is favourite there and will meet the winner
of de Minaur v Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas is big favourite but hasnt been playing well as others have mentioned, so either
way Sinner should beat de Minaur or Tsitsipas to set up a final with Alcaraz who has an easier
route to the final.

So yea I fancy de Minaur's chances against Tsitsipas @ 4.1
1290  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: April 20, 2023, 09:32:06 PM
Mt Gox and FTX aren't both company should be blamed, but the whole centralized exchanges should be blamed especially if they're included in this list [1]

It's not surprising regulation will keep coming because hacker is always clever and better rather than the current security, this is why everyone should avoid to use centralized exchange. If people are move all from centralized exchange to decentralized exchange, there's will no regulation coming due to security excuse, they only want to control everyone activity.

[1] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090869.0

While we talk about blame, I think especially in the case of FTX it has become apparant that as long as everybody involved (from the huge fish at FTX headquaters down to all the youtubers and other shills promoting FTX) makes good money, nobody even tries to take a look at all the red flags. So my personal stance on the matter is, money speaks, the responsibility for the FTX mess may be mostly within SBF and associates but goes a long way down to thousands of people involved that allowed the corrupt system to keep running for so long.

100% and I would add a big percentage of people trying to make a profit from $hitcoins
dont realise that they are feeding that system, I didnt realise it when I was trading
$hitcoins.

Like wise the youtubers and ordinary people following and promoting FTX werent aware
of the corruption.

Stuff like this also gives the likes of the FED and ECB more excuses and reason to
lump Bitcoin in along with $hitcoins under the general term of Crypto.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 20, 2023, 12:33:51 PM
Iam curious to see how Djokovic will play against Van Assche tokay. The 2021 French Open junior winner has just entered the top 100 and will certainly play with youthful naivety. That can be an interesting match. Especially since he won against Wawrinka who was actually the better player for most oh the time in that match.

It really was not easy for Djokovic. Van Assche played really well. He won the first set and in set 3 he even made a break right at the beginning. But Djokovic continued to play with concentration and won with two breaks in the end.
Djokovic said, however, that the court was quite slow and that he had never experienced anything like it before.
Tomorrow he will play against Lajovic.

Yea, I never get players particularly top professionals complaining about playing conditions,
the conditions are the same for both opponents.

Interesting to see Van Assche take a set from Djokovic. So Djokovic goes into the quarter final
against Lajovic.

Rublev plays today against Varillas today, He should win that and hopefully he can carry his
form to get to the final at least. Hopefully he has learned a lot of lessons from his win at Monte Carlo?
1292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: April 20, 2023, 06:47:05 AM
There are many reasons why the Bitcoin market is falling a bit, davis196 makes a great point
there above and its so simple.

The bottom line is the markets are ALWAYS being pulled down and pushed up, sometimes
the pullers are winning, sometimes the pushers are winning, but when you zoom out
enough its clear the pushers are winning.

If you are a proponent of the DCA system, this current fall wont trouble our sentiment...
we just buy more.

OP is just trolling, probably wants to buy at $15k

Union - URC

Round 18 - the final round before the finals, I think the final 8 has been decided. Position 8 and 9
are the crunch positions, Cell C Sharks in 8 are 5 points ahead of Benetton in 9th.

Benetton play the Stormers so they are not winning that and the Sharks at home play Munster,
that will be a close game.

...and for the overall winner, its hard to see any other team than Leinster winning.

NRL

Two very interesting games in Round 8 of the NRL starting tomorrow, Rabbitos v Panthers.
I fancy the Panthers but I also really dont know what to think of them, they have two big
wins in two weeks and last week just scrape through with a marginal win and the Rabbitohs
havent started great either.

First game on Friday sees what could be described as top tier tear teambefore this season
the Eels take on surprising ladder toppers the Broncos, this will be a great test for the broncos
to test again where they are.

I fancy both favourites

1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: April 19, 2023, 06:17:41 AM
Also a lot of Normies/uneducated people would look at influencers and think they are
being educated!

Influencers speak the kind of language these people want to hear and the demand for them
is not going to dissipate because "cryptos" predominantly $hitcoins are constantly changing.
Followers will always be looking for the newest, bestest and fastest way to get rich quick.
1297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 18, 2023, 09:08:23 PM
Sinner is playing Barcelona tomorrow as well as Tsitsipas who also plays tomorrow,
this should be another chance for a final appearance for Sinner and maybe take the
win from Alcaraz or Tsitsipas.
Tsitsipas is not in good form and I don't think he has it what it takes to get to the final. On the other hand Sinner is in the form of his life but clay was never his strongest surface. This one should be for Alcaraz to defend the title.

What is strange for me is that Djoković decided to play a smaller tournament in Banja Luka and what is even more baffling, Monte Carlo winner Rublev joined him there.

is Djokovic prioritising the GS's and not putting too much into focussing on the minor tournaments
but using them for match fitness and if he wins its a bonus....just my 2 satoshi's.

On which tournament to play, when do the players notify or accept they will play?
I'm sure they all check out their potential opponents.

Tomorrow Tsitsipas plays Cachin and Sinner plays Schwartzman and today Alcaraz
beat Borges 6-3, 6-1. I agree as would many that its Alcaraz' tournament to win/lose
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your tips and tricks to orange pill your family and friends on: April 18, 2023, 11:30:22 AM
They ask you to become their banker? you need to play smart for creating a contract and ask them to accept it, if they don't want to accept it, don't be their banker. You can make a contract if you will get 10% profit commission if they want to sold their coins or anything that you will have an advantages.

It's not that easy for protect their holdings, you will take a risk to make sure you hold in a safest place, not lose the seeds phrase, etc.

The question is not so much whether to keep their funds or not. The question is how to really get them interested in bitcoin so that they learn to manage it themselves.

No I don't want to take a commission, I am not a banker. It's not my job. I'd rather they learn what bitcoin is for.

That is a good approach, one of the main things with Bitcoin is obviously self custody of that
wealth/Bitcoin and not to trust/involve any third party.

Its a tough one trying to teach people

I have had mixed results, I find the ones who already have an appetite to discover an alternative
to the FIAT system get interested in Bitcoin and those who  dont care or who dont see a problem
with it dont have a need to become involved with Bitcoin.

Eventhough the vast majority of people are only interested in what is in it for themselves I try to
educate potential Bitcoiners on the merits of Bitcoin other than the "Investing" topic, put X in and
get Y in return, there is way way more to Bitcoin than that.
1299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 18, 2023, 06:24:57 AM
Barcelona atp main tournament started today and it seems that it will be as exciting as monte carlo it seems that djokovic and the finalists of monte carlo will not be participating which is gonna be disapointing but with alcaraz coming back after the loss in the previous tournament he should be motivated which will make the tournament even better.

Sinner is playing Barcelona tomorrow as well as Tsitsipas who also plays tomorrow,
this should be another chance for a final appearance for Sinner and maybe take the
win from Alcaraz or Tsitsipas.

Six weeks to go for Nadal to recover before the French Open start, but this comeback will be even harder. He has close to zero serious competition before that. The last tournament with serious competition would be the tournament in Rome, but if he is not fit enough to play anything before that, it would probably be even a risk to go to Rome if he wants to play the French Open so badly. I know for us outsiders it is hard to understand what keeps him from playing for so long, but in soccer you usually know a concrete diagnosis. Nadal often disappears for a couple of months and it is hard to know what he actually has. Is it still his hi injury? Or is he being overly careful and will French Open be his last grand slam?

@shogun47 he has tried a lot to return but those injuries keep coming back which has effected his return, and I too believe that he’s targeting one last glory at the the French open before he calls it quits. Lastly if he continues to play it would be a very bad decision, but I can understand why he would be keen and it’s because of his strong mentality which convinces him not to give up despite these recerinng injuries.

Thats a possibility for Nadal to play his final match at the French Open, He is certainly
targeting that one, maybe he will in future only play the GS's or only play the Clay courts?
It will be difficult for him though not to be playing full time but the body will dictate what
he will be capable of doing and how far he can puch himself to remain competitive.

In such wise, for the sake of knowledge and discussion as I earlier expressed above. In your own opinion where on earth do you think is the most important place on earth and why such a place?

There is no single place which outweighs other places, the planet as a whole has been in an equilibrium with every part of nature in balance until humans appeared.

Some notable places which are high profile places are:
The Poles, north and south
The Oceans
The forests

Look at what WWF has to say, there are many places of high importance

https://www.worldwildlife.org/places

Quote
WWF works to protect places based on the wealth and variety of life they support,
the destructive challenges they face, and our ability to positively impact them.

ASIA
