3461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: March 26, 2021, 05:05:56 PM
It's a BULLS year no matter what and I'm going to take Verstappen in every race to finish on podium or 1-2 place because the car is on same pace with Mercedes ( maybe even a little faster ) and then I think it's the perfect time for Max to win his 1st title of F1.

Did you saw big promotion regarding Mercedes or Lewis ? Hearing news about sandbagging ? No. Because they don't exist. Merecedes knows they're in big trouble this year.

I watched the FP1 highlights earlier and I was surprised to see that Mercedes wasn't top 1. Verstappen is taking this year's race by a storm and his performance will be enjoyable to watch this year.

I really can't wait to see the rookies perform as they are very exciting indeed. To be honest, I feel very weird watching Seb not in the Ferrari team anymore but hey, he came out of the toxic community in Ferrari. Lastly, I hope Alonzo performs good this year. I am definitely rooting for him more than anyone right now!
3462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wave of gambling may end with COVID recovery? on: March 26, 2021, 12:21:11 PM
Add campaigns were also heavy on TV, internet and other. Do you think that this trend is here to stay or people will gamble less once COVID is better solved.

I do think that this trend will continue even if COVID is solved.

Remember, scientists are speculating that the world will return to its normal state by 5-7 years from now once majority of the globe population has been vaccinated. In addition, with the ongoing new strains of COVID, this will become longer to the point that most people will become accustomed to online gambling.

Personally, even if COVID is solved, I still would be skeptical about going out. Maybe it's just that online gambling has become more convenient in a way that you are safe in your personal space.
3463  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] WitLink - Fake Team on: March 26, 2021, 02:57:05 AM
See the uneven hair on both of the sides on the first picture? See the crooked teeth with uneven proportions? In addition, the second picture contained distorted background images which are all signs of a computer-generated picture. Your project is doomed from the very beginning the moment you posted pictures of fake team members.
Don't know how could you be so sure if those pictures are AI-generated. The facial features you pointed out seem just about right like a normal human nothing uneven there, at least, according to me. They could be using a fake team but the proof you have posted about the images being computer-generated isn't solid enough. Unless you can point us to an algorithm that confirms your logic?

I invite your attention to check this WEBSITE so you could find out on how you could spot a computer generated AI photo. Although at the moment, there are no 100% accurate means of determining them, there are certain indicators that can help you spot the signs and some features of a computer-generated photo.

As I have been doing this for a very long time now, I would already have a hunch regarding the pictures if they are computer generated or not. The disproportions on their facial features, weird and abstract backgrounds, crooked teeths, etc. would already tell that such are fake.

In addition, you can check these websites about examples of some computer-generated photos:

3464  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] WitLink - Fake Team on: March 25, 2021, 03:42:06 PM
It was required for marketing companies, ANN thread. That why the team sheet was missing, if the intention was to fool people, don't you think it would be part of ANN thread from start? It was not there for a reason.

Its updated and therefore now added to the ANN thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5326349.msg56644406#msg56644406

If anyone still believes there is ill-intention involved, its not possible to change the mindset. The allegation would be justified if it was in the ANN thread from start but since it was meant to be changed, the thread was created without it. It was because of marketing need of companies we are working together that ANN thread and social accounts were needed for them to begin, which is why we started it to allow us time to build it to the required level.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the team members that you uploaded to your website are all computer-generated AI pictures.

See the uneven hair on both of the sides on the first picture? See the crooked teeth with uneven proportions? In addition, the second picture contained distorted background images which are all signs of a computer-generated picture. Your project is doomed from the very beginning the moment you posted pictures of fake team members.

Now, you try to remedy this situation by posting ANOTHER set of fake pictures. Lame attempt and try harder next time. You won't fool anyone in this forum mate.

Hi, upon checking the whitepaper of your project, I observed that you blatantly copied and plagiarized most of the information stated from bitcoin's whitepaper. This serious offense constitutes a bannable penalty to your account. In addition, such plagiarism also implies that the project is most likely a scam. Please check the reference below, thanks.

To anyone who is contemplating or thinking of investing in this project, I suggest to STAY AWAY from this for the time being. Chances of you losing your money in this project is definitely high.
3466  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $20K to invest in coins - Where to start? on: March 24, 2021, 02:47:51 PM
If you would have $20k to invest in crypto, what would you do?

I would definitely diversify my investments and expand my portfolio.

If I were to have $20k, I would allocate $5k for crypto, the other $5k for stocks and the remaining $10k for other purposes within both. It is imperative that you diversify your portfolio and explore other modes of investing. Going all-out in crypto may seem a good idea, but the risks are too high for me to handle given that amount of money.

In addition to the values I stated, it is also essential to determine your short and long-term plan on your investments. I will most probably day-trade half of $5k in crypto and the other half for long-term trading.

Hi, in addition the findings of Rikaflip, I would also like to invite your attention the picture of the team members, namely: "Jeremy Vaughn" and "Sharon Cook."

According to this WEBSITE, if there is any disparity between the eyeglasses frame, it highly concludes that such picture is computer-generated, to quote:

Quote
Look at the frame structure; often the frame will take one style at the left and another at the right, or there will be a wayfarer-style ornament on one side but not on the other. Other times the frame will just be crooked or jagged.1

From the above image, you can see clearly the disparity and the difference of the eyeglasses of both of the pictures which again, suggests that their photos are fake. Thus, the team members posted by this project (as for Jeremy and Sharon), are fake.

3468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake bets on: March 23, 2021, 05:27:03 PM
<snip...>

This issue actually became huge especially in e-sports gambling where famous YouTubers are being sponsored by gambling websites to promote such.

To give an example, in CSGO, these gambling websites sponsored YouTubers with funds provided by the owners. Unfortunately, it was alleged that these gambling websites faked and structured the video in a way that those YouTubers will experience winnings on their bets, but in fact, it was staged from the very beginning.

With your concern OP, I personally think this could mislead people and give them false information. Even with the disclaimers posted, this is very misleading from the very beginning. I do hope that they do something about this as it may affect their image in the future.

Plagiarism is common among blockchain projects as they are not inventing the wheel but just doing little modification from their end. However, they have the responsibility to at least paraphrase and not copy it word for word. Else, they can quote all the content and put their reference at the bottom. They need to rectify this situation, otherwise, this is not a good start to deploy their project.

Even if plagiarism is common among blockchain projects, this does not excuse the said project from modifying simple terms and just looking for synonyms on some of the words. It totally reflects on what kind of effort the development team executed on their project as it says a lot when their contents are plagiarized.

Unfortunately, many projects lack originality and uniqueness. They just copy information on other projects hoping that some investor will fall on their trap and they will eventually exit after such investor invests money. That is why, whenever you see projects that have plagiarized contents, fake team members, etc. it is a red-flag to NOT invest and to stay away at all cost.

3471  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19, Lockdown and repercussions on: March 21, 2021, 06:15:30 PM
Religion doesn't exactly inspire people to be logical about things, in fact it's entirely built on suspending rationale thought and just believing in things whether or not they're true.  It's the perfect example of how not to behave when lives are on the line.  But I will say it's perfectly on brand for religious folks to get angry or even violently upset over someone else not believing what they believe.

I would agree. At least as far as the COVID 19 pandemic is concerned, many of the organized religions had a negative impact on the containment efforts. From Brazil to Philippines, we are hearing stories about clerics asking their followers to ignore social distancing and refuse vaccination. Without these unnecessary interventions from the religious groups, the death toll from COVID 19 would have been much lower.

I think there was a case here in the Philippines were a parish priest who conducted mass died of Covid-19 and the church in which he held the mass resulted into a lockdown. In addition, the clergymen of the said church also tested positive in the virus.

Unfortunately, most people got too complacent with their daily endeavors. Even with the presence of the vaccine, it does not ABSOLUTELY guarantee that one is immune from acquiring the said virus. Worst, the acquisition of the vaccine is on the hands of the government, in which if the latter acts slow then the cases will definitely spike.

I do hope that people should be extra careful in this second wave of the virus. With new variants being discovered each day, who knows when would be the end of this nightmare of a situation globally.
3472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling firms helping Government and people during quarantine, literally. on: March 21, 2021, 05:33:50 PM
Every deed has an agenda. In this case, the support given by this gambling firm will be compensated in some sort exposure and advertisement by the Government. In addition, this support will definitely be in favor of this gambling firm in terms of their licenses and other technical requirements which would benefit them in the future.

Regardless, I see this as a win-win situation in both sides as both have favourable outcomes at the end.

Quote
Now , How do you think this would affect the Image that the government did make of such gambling firms ?

Definitely on the positive side. The support will not only cater to the support given to the Government but this will also affect the people in the country. With this in mind, the view by the Government on gambling will become favourable.

There is an ongoing accusation against dynarian project in this LINK due to a plagiarized whitepaper.

Upon checking the contents of your ANN, such contents were also plagiarized from bitcoin's whitepaper. Failure to acknowledge or to reply will compel me to create an accusation against this project. Please refer to the reference link below, thanks.

Is there a way that you can ensure being difficult to predict at Poker? For example, if you never bluff, people will eventually get to known that and it will reduce your ability to profit from good  cards? Anyone there knows techniques or trick to avoid being easy to read?

I highly suggest to change your play-style often or in every deal. The game of poker both involves luck and skill. Luck, in terms of the cards on the pool; and skill, as your observation and prediction skills will be put to the test.

What most people fail to acknowledge is that, whenever people try to predict or observe the movements of a specific person during the game, LUCK also plays a role in determining if your prediction is indeed right.

Like what I have previously mentioned, try to change your play-style every now and then. If a person tries to call your bluff, then take it as a sign that they are reading you.

Hi upon checking the website, I observed that the testimonials given by the three (3) persons were fake as their identities were different. Although such fake testimonials does not ipso facto convert the project as a fake project, I highly advise that you change them in order to avoid any confusion and doubts. Please check the reference below:
Busted early. Using fake profiles to promote the website.  Grin I guess, they will say that they are placeholders for now. But hopefully, they will post actual testimonials and real people. It is better to be honest and transparent even at the start of the project. It is hard to trust a platform if they will continue to provide some fake info on their website. You don't know when are they saying the truth here.
How did you find out that those testimonials they placed at their site are fake? They’ve only started their project and already have problems? These can make a big damaged to their reputation…

Take a screenshot of the picture they posted as testimonials and place the screenshot in this LINK. Then, you would see all the matched photos used in the internet on other websites.

It is their fault on why they used fake testimonials which could ruin their reputation.
Posting any fake information or advertisement about their project could raise serious doubts and flags with regard to their reputation as a whole. Do not pin it on me the reason on how it could damage their reputation.

Let me stress it again one more time, it is THEIR fault and I am just a simple investor checking whether such project is genuine or not.
3476  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] WitLink - Fake Team on: March 21, 2021, 10:17:45 AM
The site just launched with developers still working on it, as template, they carried those things. In 1-2 week, it will be updated accordingly.

If the developers are still working on it, why do you need to put a fake/stock picture on the website? It is very misleading as it will cause it to appear that you have a genuine team behind the project, but in fact, some are fakes. It is better, I believe, to put no picture at all than to put a fake team profile as it says really something about the whole project being shady, in general.

3478  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit is required? on: March 20, 2021, 10:58:11 PM
What kind of post gives good merit? Huh

Ohh, receiving merit is definitely subjective on the giver's end as it depends on the topics that generally warrants merit. It could be anything under the sun but generally, you may want to create posts that contribute to the forum as a whole.

I highly advise that you contribute to the forum by creating threads that serve as a backdrop for beginners (like you) in the cryptocurrency world. Avoid spams and replying to some "mega-threads" if you do want to receive merits. But typically, the whole merit system is really subjective as it depends upon the sender on what they find "useful" or "entertaining" for them.

Good luck on your forum journey and just remember to contribute!
3479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: March 20, 2021, 10:49:29 PM
Just sold 5% of my Bitcoin that I've been holding for 3 years and I feel satisfied doing so.

I didn't need to sell, and it was mainly for the satisfaction of getting back some of my original investment.

However, I also feel like its broken the "HODL AT ALL COSTS" mindset which I felt was getting a bit unhealthy.

I do feel there are risks with Bitcoin, and I won't drag people down with that here, but I will be diversifying that money into gold and shares, mainly tech shares.

If Bitcoin dips a lot, I will also buy some more Bitcoin though.

Basically, I'm glad I sold some if only to stop feeling like a slave to it (and to test the Coinbase selling functionality which only took seconds for the transaction).

Man, you have my respect for HODLing your bitcoins and for fighting the green on the other hand. I bet it was very tempting given that the price of bitcoin skyrocketed in the last 4 years.

While HODLing may be a great technique for "long-term", such time-frame is relatively subjective depending on your goal. As you have determined that today is the right time for you to cash out your investments, you have won the battle and you definitely deserve the rewards that you will reap today. I do wish that I have the same mindset as you mate!
3480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Considering huge transaction fees, what coins to support on new gambling site? on: March 20, 2021, 05:35:45 PM
With fees so high, I'm wondering if big gamblers are switching from BTC/ETH to other options. Is there any data on what's being used? With limited options, what coins should a new platform consider supporting?

Based from my experience, whenever transaction fees in the market are surging, I switch to altcoins (specifically Dogecoin and XRP) for betting.

To be honest, you also have to understand that the more the price of bitcoin increases, the transaction fees also increase as this might also affect the price of altcoins. In addition, I also feel like that betting using your cryptocurrencies can be a waste due to their value also increasing. That is why, even if the transaction fees are low when you bet using bitcoin, I highly advise against such.
