See give a man a chance to change and see what happens, he is making effort to pay him back.

To be fair, Dank made a few payments to Squall, but then stopped. Either way, you don't get banned for being a scammer, whether you have good or bad intentions. I'm not sure why Dank got banned, my guess would be either spamming or posting things that made the admins worry about his mental state. He has been banned before, so I suppose he could have received a permanent ban for spamming, or he may have posted something that could have been considered a threat to himself or others. (just speculating I'm not entirely sure)

Are you able to see from any admin log (if such a thing exists...) as to who banned him? Not to witchhunt but so those that are interested can get a reason.
3562  Other / Meta / Re: Whitelist major photosharing sites past the image proxy? on: December 09, 2014, 03:20:57 AM
you forgot the other purpose of the proxy: to make all the content on the site https. otherwise, the site will only show up as partial https on the browser bar.

this photo proxy is just AWESOMELY GREAT!!! THANK YOU.

When it works, and on low weight pages. Some of my heavier guides like the C1 simply don't fully load (and doesn't show where pictures should have been) because the proxy can't parse all the thumbnails in <2 seconds before the cutoff.

Does anyone know what cables the SP35 ships with? The website description says it includes mounting ears, but nothing about the PSU plug types or adapter cables.

The Emerson-based SP30 came with 2 IEC C19-C14 power cords; wondering if the SP35 comes with something similar.

I can let you know tomorrow if my unit clears customs in time to invoice me before loading time.
3564  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Black Friday Deals 0.409USD/GH/s, FREE International Shipping on: December 09, 2014, 03:14:22 AM
apparently, Bitmain does not offer sending directly to Umisoo for hosting anymore. does anyone know why oe if there is a decent alternative? I'd like to order some more S4s, but it's impossible for me to host them.

Did bitmain or one of it's employees ever comment on this? Speculation was they were too dangerous to host.

Whose speculation? Do you have a link?

Haven't heard that one either, I was thinking (pure speculation) maybe saving room for the S5's? did email them but haven't heard back yet.

I'll let you know.
3565  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Neptune, the choice of all who wish to retire from post fire Insurance fraud on: December 09, 2014, 03:13:43 AM
Turns out Corsair uses 18awg wire.. What would be great is a PCIe to single 8awg (automotive grade so its very flexable) adaptor.. that would be nice for someone to sell.. Plus those things should be individually fused.. or with a push in breaker perhaps.. 30amp enough I wonder..?

Depends which as CXs use 18AWG while the larger CMs are 16AWG. You can mix the cables between the two if you have multiple units though.
3566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer C1 Setup [HD] on: December 09, 2014, 02:31:28 AM
Hey, I have a few questions.

I'd rather not import coolant, would it just be aluminum safe coolant?

Is not just a matter of aluminum safe. Automotive coolants are designed for, well, cars/trucks and the operating conditions their engines place on the coolant - and what the engines require from the coolant. In short, additives (generally silicates) are added which form a film on the cooling passages. Great for protecting an engine with large surfaces and cooling passages. Terrible for precision cooling needs.

Check koolance.com for CPU grade coolants or just search for 'CPU liquid cooling'. You'll find lots of suppliers.

Truth be told, the biggest thing CPU coolants provide aside from colors is algicides/antimicrobials to cut down on things wanting to grow in the nice warm coolant. If you keep an eye on it from time to time using either DI or distilled water is just fine assuming there is no copper or brass in the system.

Thanks!  even if I don't buy there, I'll know what to buy.  Sweet guide btw, will use it later once I get them.

No problem
3567  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 09, 2014, 01:42:30 AM
So i did a little modification to the miner to see if it pull more heat...

so far the top sink gets quite hot, due to copper on the chips, path of least resistance?
now the chipsets are claiming 38 Degrees Celsius at about 80~GHs at this moment, it hasn't been running for that long yet..

lets just see what happens

BE200s will get 80-90C topside so I wouldn't be surprised if that little plate is hot. Its not drastically increasing your cooling though without any surface area [fins].
3568  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 09, 2014, 01:41:57 AM
No, its not a version 1 and 2 of the "new" R-Box but people try to differentiate between the 32-37 GH/S original R-Box and the "Newer" R-Box which is rated at 100GH/S but for some reason was given the same name without any "Official" designation to help people tell the difference other than "New" which is often confused with "New to Me" equipment.

I see, you call the New Rbox as ver2, i just call them NRBox... how about we all them by how many cores they have? r-box = 4 core, new rbox = 12 core?

...since i really hate the name "New R-box"

not going into politics

Trust me, I asked them about 5x pre release to reconsider the name. Google must hate trying to index it correctly.
3569  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer C1 Setup [HD] on: December 09, 2014, 01:38:03 AM
Where do you  get the coolant? I have automotive anti-freeze coolant, is that doable? How much coolant do you need?
An excellent source for everything dealing with liquid cooling is Koolance http://koolance.com/ They have coolant, tubing, much better pumps and reservoirs, and those nifty 'dripless' quick connect Dogie shows.

Personally, I will be using 3/8" (8mm) ID tubing vs the 1/4" (6mm) ID because I will be using a longer run between the radiator and miner. Like 2 meters each way.

Doesn't KL have an annoying minimum order value? Also the stock tubing is 8mm ID anyway. You get ~3m in the pack.
3570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Home mining makes a comeback: check out Spondoolies new offer, the Jackson SP20 on: December 09, 2014, 01:36:01 AM
Thermal shock OR condensate freezing on the boards. So just below 1c. Almost anything these days with a fan that has Fluid Dynamic Bearings are rated at 0c and above. For the simple reason the fan can actually seize and any electronics will therefore overheat, producing the magic smoke.

Are you aware that oils don't freeze at 0C, just because they're liquids?
3571  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Technobit 2HEX4M Setup [HD] on: December 09, 2014, 01:25:12 AM
Does anyone have a suggestion for less noisy fans that could be used to replace the sunon fans? And my fans came without a grill Angry so it sliced off a peice of my finger whilst instaling it, 3 weeks ago now and it still hurts...

Quite honestly I think these are quite overcooled, so any mid range high pressure fans (Corsair I'm looking at you). Might need a small underclock if hash rate goes unstable.

Thanks for pointing it out and thanks to dogie for info and nice pictures.
For those NOT on a metric system using freedom units it comes down to ~13.717 lb and 9.25in X 9.45in X 19.5in for the full package and 5.12in X 5.83in X15.6in for the machine alone.

Fixed

Hey so I just got my S4 in the mail.

When I turn it on, it says the IP is 127.0.0.1.

How can I connect to my miner? When I try going to 192.168.1.99 nothing comes up.

Do I need to have it directly plugged into the router or can I plug it into a computer that is wirelessly connected to the internet.

Sorry for the questions but just trying to figure this thing out.

Straight into router would be best. Make sure your DHCP table is enabled. If it is, reseat SD card and try again. If still not working, reflash the SD card with the image in post #2 of the S4 thread.

0a) What to Expect (top)
SpondooliesTech's SP20 brings 8 of their RockerBox architecture to a small form factor device. Two hashing boards are housed in a well designed case
and are cooled with a single 120mm fan. No power supply is provided, but a custom controller is included internally.

Chips4x 28nm SpondooliesTech RockerBox
Hashrate~1700GH
Rated Voltage12V
Rated Current100A
Power.Consumption~1200W

0b) What You Need (top)
You will need a few accessories and a power supply to get started. Due to the load required, I would recommend two smaller PSUs over a larger one.

Click your flag to find everything you need to get started at Amazon!

1) Powering (top)
SP20's do not come with a power supply, and you will need a typical computer PSU with 4xPCI-E 6 pin power connectors. Strictly all 4 connectors are
required. We also need to tell the PSU to always be on, as there isn't a motherboard to do this. Cut a paper clip into a U and insert it into the green wire
and either black wire to the side of the green wire. Tape it up for safety. The power supply will now be controlled by its switch on the rear socket.

2) Cooling (top)
A single extremely powerful 120mm Y.S. TECH FD121238UB fan is used in a negative pressure tunnel arrangement and can move up to 200CFM. Each chip
has its own custom aluminium finned heatsink on a copper plate. Noise levels at the default 80% are very loud but also required to reach the rated hash
rate at ambient conditions below 30C. It may not be possible to achieve the full speed above 30C, which may be ~1500GH at 40C.

3) Case (top)
The SP20's case is designed to be stacked top to bottom or side to side. It is meticulously designed all over and each piece fits exactly. With the revised
model (SP20E, pictured), there is no risk of modules moving during shipping.

The shipped weight of an SP20 is 6.1kg, dimensions of the shipping box are 235 x 240 x 495mm. An unpacked SP20 weighs 5.0kg and measures
130 x 148 x 395mm.

4) Configuration (top)
Configuration is straightforward due to the simple due to the on-board controller, web interface and DHCP default.

Wiring:
  • Plug in an ethernet cable from the SP20 to your router.
  • Plug in a power cables from the mains to your PSU. The unit will auto turn on.
  • Power on the power supply using its switch at the back.

Configuration:
  • Using a browser, navigate to myminer.io to see all SpondooliesTech hardware on your network.
  • Click on "Go to miner" to visit the SP20's configuration page.
  • Login using "admin" as the username and password.
  • Navigate to "Pools", enter miner information in the below format click save.
  • Navigate to "Settings" and change parameters as desired. Use basic voltage settings unless you know what you are doing.

I have an U3 and I'm currently getting an average of 40 GH/s. Is it safe to overclock it? And which parameter do you guys reconmend?  Smiley

You don't need any parameters with the latest cgminer.

I don't need parameters to overclock it? I get only 40 GhH/s with cgminer 4.8 Sad

What i wanted to know is which is a goog mhz/V combination to overclock it?

Screenshot please. You don't need parameters to reach the rating speed (which you're currently not).

looks like someone is using their name with hope that it will get him sales

Everyone is misunderstanding. I made two, unconnected statements. I have no problem with people talking about my or my guides etc. Its the use of my pictures without license or permission that is illegal.

"Look what the top review says, that's pretty cool". Then "its a shame [Amazon / the uploader to Amazon keeps infringing my copyright by stealing my pictures]".
